    I love the dial color.. it literally goes with everything I own.. but I would like the half moon rather than arrow pointer. overall I think it was worth the money I paid

      Agree on the pointer

      It could be possible to replace the pointer with a half moon from a different pointer date.

    I love the New 473, awesome movement and Power indicator on the back, maybe a Black or White dial would look even nicer

      I assume they will come out with several dial colors.

      There is actually one in white called the wings of hope. It’s a bit bigger and uses the automatic version of this movement though

    Excellent video, I really like the pointer date. Yes reminds me of a field watch as well.

    Thank you Bob. Great review. Beautiful dial , and as you i do not like the arrow to indicate date. Not on my budget though!!

    It's an in-house movement if it's designed by Oris and made to their specs, and assembled by Oris, and exclusive to them. Anyway props to Oris for coming out with a good in-house movement, but it's just too expensive. Being in-house, servicing will have to be with the Oris AD as well, so maintenance costs will be high. I can't see them selling many of these.

    Very nice in informative review !
    In my very subjective opinion : some problems with this watch - They should offer more color variations - this blue is really not my favorite and I guess will not be for many ! The case is on the higher side, even more so in relation to the dial size, the hands are rather uninspired , just quite boring !
    And there is only 50meters of WR - not enough for me and again for many to consider it !
    This is just not a typical dress watch but could be a good daily wearer - also for vacation. And I do not want to take it of for every little swim !!
    Considering the money they make us pay there are too many cons in my opinion.
    It is a shame and a missed chances !
    But I like Oris and I think they could bring up a new version maybe next year with all these things I suggested covered -
    Then the price could be justified for many more people !

    Would consider buying this watch hadn't had already the 403 model.
    By the way, how long does it take to engage the second barrel while turning the crown ? I never saw it moving on my watch...😮

    Hi, how are you, can you tell me about this Oris Big Crown Caliber 473 watch, who would be your direct competitors?

  • @seayak
    @seayak Год назад +1

    Hmm, aesthetically, I find the newer more expensive watch to be a step backwards. The plainer hour/minute and date pointer hands look less elegant, and the plain polished bezel is certainly less unique than the coin edge, which to me at least is one of the most handsome features of the pointer date series. That polished surface is also likely to attract more visible scratches. Honestly if someone offered to give me one of these, I would take the old model, thank you, and would certainly not pay a premium for the new one.

    • @adventureswithtime

      Interesting. I find the coin edge bezel as too glitzy. To each their own

    Quite a lot of competition in that price bracket. I’m not sure on this one. “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it”

    • @adventureswithtime
      @adventureswithtime  Год назад +1

      Well I like the idea of a new movement; especially putting the power reserve on the back. But agree the price is a concern.

  • @pas0003

    I prefer the older designs and price tags. I wish they hadn't made the change for the in-house movements and more boring/standard designs.
