This song helped me through Afghanistan, playing it everynight to remind me of home, to get my mind off all the firefights. Much love for the zac brown band!
About 6 or 7 years ago, a local solider from here, in North East Ohio, was killed in action over in Iraq. This was his favorite song, so his brother called into the morning show (Rover's Morning Glory) 100.7 WMMS, a rock station, and asked if they would play this song to honor him. The next morning they played the song over and over for the entire duration of show, (over 4 hours) only stopping to take calls from people sharing stories of loved ones fighting in the military, and honoring this young solider who lost his life. It was very moving.
Our 46yr old son passed 6-21-21, He Loved ZAC BROWN and went to his concerts whenever he could. The ZAC Brown band donated over 200 hats to his Celebraion of life.
May your boy rest in peace. Good to hear Zac Brown and the crew contributed to his celebration of life. That's a hell of a lot more fun than a funeral.

I'll be completely honest, I used to not be a big fan of this song. But recently my life has taken a huge change in course. I enlisted in the military, and three months ago I was living with my family and the love of my life, but today here I am with sand under my boots and haven't felt the warmth of my woman's hugs since the day I stepped into the bus. this lifestyle makes you see things much differently, and you begin to see the significance of the little things you used to have. the message in this song stands out to me and brings tears to my eyes and a smile to my face every time I hear it now, because everything in it is something I miss greatly. being there for my mama my woman and my little brother every day was taken for granted, but I know this is best. God bless you all, and I hope you have a great day. Make the most out of everything, no matter how small it may seem.

@@rifleshooterchannel208 money is money my brother in Christ. I don’t know what his political leaning he has and honestly I don’t want to. The music is what I enjoy and if he made money from that, why not? He can make more music now.
@@rifleshooterchannel208 I mean technically so was Micheal Jackson, but man I still love Off the Wall… I think this song was made before such things were being said. There can be a separation from art and the artist. MJ was the best example I could come up with off the top of my head.
This song came up during an Applebee's commercial during the Ukraine-Russia war news coverage. At first I laughed, but I came here to check out the whole song. And it is so relevant. It is a reminder that the comforts and joys of our lives come at the price of those who fought against tyranny to keep the freedoms we have. It is truly a gift to live in peace, and it should never be taken for granted.
I think more people need to hear this song and think about all of those millions of soldiers that have died to make our country one of the best countries in the world. Man, such a good song to come back to on a pandemic like this.

Came here from the CNN Ukraine coverage. Didn't make me want Applebees but it did make me remember that this song is actually amazing. The content is darkly humorous juxtaposed with the footage of the air raid sirens going off ominously

To all of the soldiers that protect us from the enemy we have and the ones that lose their lives to give their lives to give us our freedom and our country safe
This isn't the place for Politics but how is Iraq, Iran, Venezuela, N. Korea, Russia etc. (Who ever America decides the enemy is that week) how are they "stealing" our freedom? We intervened in their countries. We fucked up their shit, but hey. They are the bad ones. The only people stealing our freedoms are those bastards in Washington & i don't see the military going after them.

I love this song…I’m an Army Veteran served in Desert Storm. Did basic training in Ft. Jackson South Carolina. Was also stationed on Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah Georgia. Also traveled to Florida and Alabama.I always tell people about the southern hospitality. It’s amazing. The south showed me love. This song reminds me of those times in the Army. It just played on one of my playlists so here I am just sharing an experience. Great song about the overlooked simple things in life.
This is the most American song I've ever heard, and when I play it for my Uber passengers, they can't help sing along, and their eyes tear up. This song so perfectly encapsulates the essence of America, and packages it neatly into a catchy tune.
Zac Brown's music touches my heart, saw him in 2015 and was totally blown away, thought they were all country music, boy was I wrong they all gathered at the extended stage and just went all acoustic, including Led Zeppellin, rock and roll hits, they play all kinds of music and do it all very well !!!
This is the type of song you play on a sunday morning right after you finish on the tractor. You see yer family in the living room, and you give ‘em a big ‘ol hug. That’s when you realize just how good you’ve got it, and boy am I glad to live in the best country on Eearth

@@jokeinsurance2735 Considering Jeans were invented in the US and have been worn for more than 200 years, and Fried Chicken and southern barbeque is historically an icon of classic Southern American hospitality going back for about as long as Blue Jeans, it makes a solid bit of sense. Love this song... everyone needs to learn our possessions DO NOT define us, its what we do for our family and how we help others is what truly matters in this life.
I'm Canadian and this song is what I think tradition American values would be. I can feel the patriotism in every cord, every lyric, and the overall great atmosphere this song creates. We too like our chicken fried, and DEFINETLY cold beers on a friday night. Stay Classy down there ladys and gents.
He let them use it for a Bud Lite commercial, that right there invalidates any of its alleged “patriotism.”

@@NitroKlips Zero proof MJ was. Nor did Michael Jackson allow himself to promote companies that literally push child grooming like Bud does.

@@jairosoto662
There are only three countries in the world America hasn't invaded or have never seen a U.S. military presence: Andorra, Bhutan, and Liechtenstein.
Jairo Soto Patriotism for the military came from WW2, a time where the worlds freedom was under threat and people suffered greatly. Why do you think vets from WW1 and WW2 have so much respect and are faithful to the military. There used to be a serious threat in the world and our military helped oust it. A time you will never know thanks to all the people who gave their lives.

You are half right, there are far too many corrupt politicians in America (and lately, it seems the entire world).
But there are indeed malicious countries that want to destroy all free nations, such as Iran. They've already messed Sweeden, Britian, Garmsny and many other countries.
They come in under the guide of refugees then establish sharia law and take over. It is only a matter of time till it happens here in America as well.

And post o'er land and ocean without rest:
