    My two favorites were Klinger and Radar. My daughter served in the Army and was then hired by KBR and was stationed at the Bagram airbase in Afghanistan. Her job was in logistics and sent out anything our troops called in for. If she didn't have it she knew who did and bypassed the chain of command and went directly who had it and got it sent out ASAP. I had a soldier call me from Afghanistan and thanked me for raising a good daughter. I said "You mean Amber?" He said "Yes, but we call her Radar!" If we needed anything, she got it sent out really fast.

He was also my first actor crush lol. All in all, I grew up watching every episode and to this day, I still watch it. It's a timeless show. It had its moments that made you realize just how lucky you were to be somewhere safe and warm. If they ever tried to do a remake of Mash, I personally don't think it will have the same essence that the original has. Thank you for sharing this. Nurse Kellye, Major Winchester the III, and Colonel Potter are my favorites; Nurse Kellye was such a positive and strong female role. The episode where she gives Hawkeye an education on his behavior is stellar. The episodes where Major Winchester receives the fall leaf from the school child and the one where he works with the patient who had to reclaim his ability to play the piano bring on the good crying every time. And Colonel Potter getting choked up over those in his command is a genuine show of care and concern. M*A*S*H makes me laugh a lot, but the human connection so aptly portrayed by the actors is what has me watching the show over and over. I own every single episode.

    Agree with ToddF: Leaving out Wayne Rogers was a big omission. His interaction with Alan Alda was, I think, a big part of the show's early success. Also, Several of the recurring guest characters, could have or should have been mentioned: Alan Arbus who played Sidney, the army psychiatrist; Loudon Wainwright III, Alan Alda's father Robert, as well as the Asian actors who played Koreans such as Pat Morita & Soon-Tek O. Actually, enough of these guest stars played on MASH for there to be a whole separate video about them.

He was very down to earth & one of the nicest people that I have ever met. Like millions of others, I hated to see that show end. Maybe it's because I served in the military but after the show ended, I found that I couldn't watch re-runs because it's just too nostalgic. I was watching the reruns in 2019 wow wow wow they helped me through a lot, I was finally looking after Mum after Dad had passed n I laughed n cried, just what the doctor ordered har heaven, I will make a point of watching the reruns again n hoping the cast wouldn’t pass away in real life, because I would miss them, even not knowing who they were out of character. 6:35 Bartford Hamilton Steele was a Major General. "Not now, Marjorie, I'm inspecting the troops" and "But first, a number!"
    As others have mentioned: where are McLean Stevenson and Wayne Rogers? valé to both those gentlemen.
    Another video could feature recurring characters that appeared in multiple episodes but weren't part of the regular cast. Many of them are no longer with us:
    * Marcia Strassman, who was Nurse Margie Cutler and also Julie Kotter in 'Welcome Back, Kotter'.
    * G W Bailey, who played Rizzo.
    * Edward Winter as Colonel Flagg.
    * The character of "Spearchucker" Jones, who was apparently written out of the series when the writers found out that there were no black surgeons serving in the US Army during the Korean conflict.
    * Sidney Freedman, the Army psychologist.
    * Brigadier Clayton.
    * Brigadier Hammond- played by the same actor in both the movie and the TV series.

    My favorite character would have to be Col. Potter. His dry situational wit (To Hot Lips: "Major, you have to stop getting drunk and beating up the troops!"), his calm demeanor, his respect and affection for the men and women under his command, and his terrific leadership style. Whoever wrote the character really understood Adm. Grace Hopper's advice, "You lead people; you manage resources."

      Kristen S the actors Wayne Rogers and McLean Stevenson left on their own as were fed up with being on the show as felt like were second fiddle to Alan Alda and were not getting proper character development as the show went. Rogers also had a dispute with his contract in which later found out he had actually never signed his contract and felt his character Trapper was getting the short end of things as his character was the chief surgeon in the film Mash and in the book where in show Hawkeye was the lead character and chief surgeon along with the fact that Alda’s popularity on ships and resume prior to mash and outshown Rogers. Alda’ s Hawkeye was getting the better lines and screen time after the first season where Trapper and Hawkeye started out as equals. McLean Stevenson left to as felt second fiddle and Alda and chose to leave as felt he could be successful in other shows and never quite had the success again on tv when left Mash same with Wayne Rogers although he became a largely successful businessman and money investor when got out of acting by the 80s and Larry Linville and Gary Burghoff’s acting careers were never the same when left Mash.
