too bad ness never uses pk rockin effects, just purple and green sparks. i LOVE the sparks, but id like the red blue yellow technicolor vhs sparks he has in the games. they did it with lucas's hexagons :c maybe its because of seizures... ALSO WHY IS LUCAS'S PK THUNDER BLUE NOW.

PK Fire is one of the best side bs in the game (both lucas and ness) and its salt inducing
In my opinion Lucas' is better because you can stage spike and edgeguard with it, and it can neutralize other projectiles

    • @MegaRetroRocket

PK Lucas Agreed, it definitely packs the knockback utility, whereas Ness' game utilizes stall and trapping to set up for grabs. I don't know if it's better, but does suit a different style.

2 things that weren’t in the video.
    1. If you down air as you land you will have no landing lag at all, but you have to land during the down air otherwise it won’t work.
    2. If you Full hop and buffer a bit fire you can land the pk fire on top of the opponent which makes it harder for them to DI out of, and if you buffer it you will have time to do a down air as you land and have no landing lag. So it’s essentially a lagless pk fire.

  • @Skeepers192
    @Skeepers192 5 лет назад +31

Important to know (if I’m not mistaken) moves only stale if they’ve been used recently. I believe it keeps track of the last 9 moves you used and if the move you’re using is in that list then it’s stale. More stale the more times it’s in the list. So it’s fine to use back throw when the enemy is at 0 percent, because you’re going to use 9 moves before you want to use back throw to kill, and by that time it won’t be stale anymore.

    • @moreno522

    Interesting.
That should help me a lot ; thank you - JTails.
Anyway, I would have appreciated to see you cover ALL Ness' moves, such as D-tilt, D-air...

I'm a Ness main. The down b is going to take a lot to get use to. I only use it when characters has projectiles. I will do my best.

I was a pro Ness in smash 4 but i dropped competitive smash for a year and just picked up ultimate and it looks like the game and Ness are slightly different. Can't wait to become good again.

Weak pk flash is actually a really good combo tool. Since it hits upwards, you can do something like quickly jumping into a spike.

Jtails please do inkling competitive guide! This Ness guide was really interesting to me! I never knew that the magnet has a hotbox now and how versatile he can be with the PK thunder and how many options he really has. I’ve always been bad at the character and never been a fan myself but this video really interested me!

Have to disagree on PK flash. I think it’s ledge guarding potential is untapped and I’m at around 3 mil gsp and hit it a lot on when ledge guarding. Besides that thanks for the tips!

17:24 It’s the Gutsy Bat, thank you! It took Ness multiple human live spans of pain to get that thing and Paula died about 200 times during the search. Smash Ness farmed for all the rare drops.
