    Thank you, Alison! You’re an amazing teacher. I don’t read written patterns well and need a video to help. I was in Scotland earlier this year for our daughter’s wedding to a lovely Scottish fellow. (Came home early due to this Covid mess). Your accent brings back all the memories of the warm Scottish welcome we had. Stay well!

    I told my mom I was beginning to make blankets since I began crocheting about 8 years now and she insisted she had to get hers first so I began my search for a pattern that she would really love and I came across your video for the virus pattern (the name name really threw me off btw lol). As I got to round 7 I really caught on once I remembered where my corners and sides are. 2 thumbs to you for this video it was very easy to follow since I am a hands on learner and i love the accent. I have never been so eager and inspired to post my projects in my Facebook group. Wish me luck!!!!

    Alison, you have helped me to make a family heirloom with this pattern! That is per my sister. Was delighted to see this tutorial pop up again! I fell in love with this blanket when I first saw it last August & decided to make it as an adult afghan. As a wedding gift. Was so excited by the pattern that I didn't stop to think about it being square, not rectangular. So it ended up being a blanket that covered the top of a queen size bed! Was GORGEOUS & the couple agree that it is the nicest gift they received. Thank you Alison for making this beautiful pattern so easy to make!

But I was looking for a beautiful pattern to do with a limited amount of yarn that I had and came across this and didn't even look any further! Your explanation tickled me and made it fun! I'm in Arkansas in the US and the way you made sure we were doing the correct stitches for our country was awesome and tickled me with how many times you said fan, shell, and cluster! Now...just got to keep going to get to baby blanket size! Thank you again! This will be a beautiful heirloom for my grandbabies! (Got #5 due on March 24, 2023) and I'm so excited to finish!

      Wow, thank you! Hi Kay I do try and do easy stitches even those that look complicated are usually easy too. Have a look at my many other tutorials in my video section on my home page. There are lots of arts and crafts videos too.

      @@angelagosling7890 I am taught through only RUclips. Crocheting in the round was my nightmare at first. I lived with videos on pause while looking at my work saying this doesn't make ANY sense! 😂😂 and oh my gosh the magic ring too!! I'm 3 years in now and can do just about anything. Keep practicing! Keep making things! It's so worth it. The first blankets I made I donated to a dog shelter. I figured the dogs didnt mind that the sides looked like ocean waves they were so uneven lol

    Thank you Alison Russell You make learning crocheting stitches extremely easy . I love everything you make , I am so glad I found you because I have been crocheting for quite sometime on and off but not really any good at doing different stitches. I don't think I have a lot of confidence to be honest , I also have a problem with holding the hook.
    But now I have found you , "You make things seem so easy to do so here goes ".

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 года назад +1

      You are so welcome! Hold the hook the way it is comfrtable with you no matter how silly it looks as long as you are comfortable, don't try to hold it the way others do. I don't I hold mine the way it is comfortable. As for confidence that will come, think of it this way... when your in your own home no one will know if you have to rip it out no one will know if you have to try 5 times to get it right the fact will be YOU will keep trying you can do it. There is a Brain click thats what I call the time where your brain just get is right that click in your head that says OHHH thats how you do it... So dont sell yourself short you are probably better than you think you are. So keep at it. I too had to learn and no one was worse than me to begin with.
