I told my mom I was beginning to make blankets since I began crocheting about 8 years now and she insisted she had to get hers first so I began my search for a pattern that she would really love and I came across your video for the virus pattern (the name name really threw me off btw lol). As I got to round 7 I really caught on once I remembered where my corners and sides are. 2 thumbs to you for this video it was very easy to follow since I am a hands on learner and i love the accent. Thank you Alison Russell You make learning crocheting stitches extremely easy . I love everything you make , I am so glad I found you because I have been crocheting for quite sometime on and off but not really any good at doing different stitches. I don't think I have a lot of confidence to be honest , I also have a problem with holding the hook. But now I have found you , "You make things seem so easy to do so here goes ".
You are so welcome! Hold the hook the way it is comfrtable with you no matter how silly it looks as long as you are comfortable, don't try to hold it the way others do. I don't I hold mine the way it is comfortable. As for confidence that will come, think of it this way... when your in your own home no one will know if you have to rip it out no one will know if you have to try 5 times to get it right the fact will be YOU will keep trying you can do it. There is a Brain click thats what I call the time where your brain just get is right that click in your head that says OHHH thats how you do it... So dont sell yourself short you are probably better than you think you are. So keep at it. I too had to learn and no one was worse than me to begin with.
I wanted to learn a new crochet stitch and I have been able to do so because you are such a good teacher. Patterns are too confusing but watching your video makes it much easier. Thank you.
Thank you Allison for this beautiful pattern. I love that it looks so intricate, but is so simple to do. Your tutorias are excellent. So easy to follow. Thank you for suggesting to go up a hook size.

So simple! Thank you for taking your time to teach others how to do this pattern.
This is another wonderful blanket love it Thankyou very much for showing it xxx

So simple! Thank you for taking your time to teach others how to do this pattern. I too looked at the written directions & became dizzy with concern if I would ever "figure it out" Then, while scrolling through RUclips I was happy as I could be as there was my "someday" afghan completed! 😊😊😊 I sat today & watched through the complete video & was so happy! 🎉🎉🎉 I can do that! Thank you for your time, help & patience in teaching others!

You are so welcome!
I love your work Alison. Every time I see a new blanket I think I'll make that, then that one, then another one of yours. When I finish what I am doing at the moment I want to start this one. Our church craft group crochet baby blankets for an organisation who helps single mums and their babies, both before and after the babies are born. This would be so beautiful to make and give to them. Thank you.
It truly would and you are doing a wonderful thing and it will be well appreciated by the mums Xxxx
I'm just learning to do fantastic fan baby blanket. I'm loving it and enjoying your easy to follow instructions. I never thought l could crochet. I've always been a knitter. I love the lacy look of the blanket and it's coming out nearly as lovely as yours lol
You are so welcome!
I made this with three colors changing colors after each cluster row. It is beautiful. I wish I could add a picture. You did an excellent job teaching this pattern. Thank you!!!!

@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel I just got done with my 3rd virus blanket. I would love to know about the other one you mentioned.
Beautiful blanket! Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Beautiful. This is a lot like cakes and candles pattern. I’ve made 3 baby blankets and 1 adult size. With that pattern I’ve had to frog a lot of times. This pattern is easier to follow and I just can’t wait to get started on it. Thank you 😊
It will be great if you get your hook and yarn and follow along with me.
I totally agree! I have three baby blankets to make, started first in cakes and candles......but will now make them all with this pattern for a nice change.
Thank you for another wonderful video. I am making this with crochet thread for a table.
Sounds great!
Love your work....and your
Instruction method is 2nd to nòne...wish everyone would instruct like you do... so non confusing...thank you for sharing.
Fantastic tutorial! Timestamps for the repeat rows:
1: 47:18 (Chain 5/V stitch)
2: 36:11 (Lockdown the chain 5/fan)
Thanks for that!
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel My pleasure. I get distracted by other projects and need the reminder. Thanks for your wonderful tutorials!!!
Very pretty pattern. Thanks for the good explanation of same.
Love your channel, and your enthusiasm is so easy to catch, Alison. After seeing this blanket I know what I’m going to do with the five hanks of natural Merino yarn I just got. Not for the dye pot! It’s a lovely, soft cream colour, like fresh churned butter. Tell me that won’t work up nicely into this pattern!
Oh it will be amazing and so soft too, Gregory. Hopr you show it to me when finished Xxxx
