I am so glad I found the Lovecrafts website for yarn and other crochet and knitting products. They always have a sale on some yarn up to 75% off. The Red Heart soft baby steps yarn on this video is only £1.99 per 100g ball. Just amazing as this is super soft baby yarn. They have many other brands too. Cheaper than I have seen them elsewhere.

Yes, I have finally found a UK (Scottish?) Channel. It's 1:22 am so saving this vid to watch and crochet along with as soon as I can. I'm also a beginner so a little slower than everyone else. Blanket is absolutely stunning.

I wonder if there has been a pattern done for the butterfly blanket. I find it easier following the tutorial but then checking on the pattern if I’ve forgotten a bit.

Mine is a white pram blanket.
A long strip with a frilly border would look unique as a scarf - ( going to whip one up after my blanket is finished)

I just learned to crochet about 1 1/2 years ago, all through you tube, I've made 3 large afghans and one beautiful ( I think so), baby blanket so far. When I saw this butterfly blanket, I watched the video. As I got about half way through, the focus became worse and worse. I'm still going to try it, but i also thought you should know that checking on the focus might be a good idea for those of us that don't read patterns! Love the stitch, and will follow along and try it anyway!

As complicated as this is, I picked up the stitches easily enough. Just struggled with turning my work. It took several rewinds and I’m not done yet. But I have to say I think it’s going to be gorgeous when I’m done. I wish I could post a pic of my progress but I’m not sure where to do that. Loving your tutorials Alison!! 😊 Thank you for sharing

I love this pattern! You are right in saying it looks more difficult than it is. This definitely goes on my list of upcoming projects! I must bought some ombre yarn without a specific project in mind--I will report on whether it works out for that yarn.
