People nowadays are more complicated, it’s not that Gt7 isnt good. It’s that people want something elese from polyphony and they’ve just been expanding on the same concept for more than 20 years.
Don't feel sorry for them, Gran Turismo continues to be one of the best selling series Sony have. GT Sport keept selling during it's whole life, and GT7 is following that trend. It still is one of the best, If not the best, selling racing franchise outhere. Sony and Polyphony are fine, the noise the internet does, doesn't affect them.
"Built from the ground up" will forever be a meme for Forza, we all know damn well they will probably only redo the engine when the current iteration becomes unusable

Bro I'm beta tester for several AAA games, new Forza in terms of game core is a masterpiece that everyone will be looking at..... These kind of games will never look good from launch but over time they age like a fine wine making them incomparable with other games..... Look at Cyberpunl, No Man's Sky, Battlefield 2024, Fallout 76, Skyrim, GTA 5, soon Starfield.... These are all games built new from ground up that had massive issues + looked rubbish on launch, today they are a masterpiece in gaming graphics..... Mark my words not only new Forza is miles ahead of GT7 but it will still be ahead of GT8 when that launches

There's a reason why the game have less contents like cars + tracks than before because they need to re do it to match it's engine design, once they get all the data properly inserted in the game you will see Masterpiece that no game comes close, this definitely the first Forza I actually genuinely think it will be at the top for quiet some time, although Horizon did well but this on another level..... Give them time like Starfield and watch how they become a masterpiece like others did

But from what i seen going from FH4 to FH5, the differences just don't seem to be as prominent as opposed to the previous FH titles, same for FM7 to FM2023, the graphics back in 7 seemed a bit sharper but assuming that their new engine will do all this new data thing you mentioned i guess I'll give that a pass at least. But like i said before, the changes just didn't seem immediate like "oh hey the graphics are massively improved from FH5 or FM7" they were more under the hood kinda things, stuff you see when you play it for like hours
@@TRX25EXYou say that but GTSport is actually built from the ground up and looks way better than FM does right now. Cyberpunk launched looking good but as a buggy mess. Forza Motorsport launched looking bad while being a buggy mess. Turn10 says they used a spectrophotometer for paint, but it looks worse than FM7. The audio is still bad, not as bad as FM7 but not as good as FM6 and FH5. Give Turn10 the time and maybe they'll get the graphics looking as good as FM6 did, which looks better than the dark and depressing FM7. It'll never be as good as GT especially as a cross platform game. Even on PC with people who have 4090 and 7800X3D in their rig, FM8 still manages to make some of it's cars look worse than it did in FM1. GT7 is mainly built for one system, the PS5, it has a PS4 version that just lowers the settings with completely different textures sometimes. GT7 has nailed their colors and materials that they've included Scapes where you can put 3D in-game cars into real life 2D photos and it'll look convincing. Driveclub, Horizon 5 (AN OPEN WORLD GAME) and even GRiD Legends looks better than FM8 and they didn't spout some bs about raytracing that doesn't even work and "built from the ground up" when Driveclub and GTSport actually are and did make a leap in graphics. Beta tester? You mean you just play the game and give feedback so the devs can fix it? In this case they've seem to completely missed out on several very obvious bugs. Seems like they either ignored or didn't have any testers for this game. The game might be fun, but they have to fix it first to get rid of the game breaking bugs or annoyances and graphics isn't going to be making the leap considering this is where the baseline sits. GTSport on the PS4 is where the baseline graphics for GT7 on the PS5 sits and they both look photoreal. On top of that GT7 has VR and you can look at the models up close in 3D.
Takes 4 to 6 months to create a car and put in gt7 every car by itself is love story on its own from designers and developers not a single detail is overlooked

Yeah, I don't think anyone that loves cars or motorsports works there anymore. At least polyphony is run by a guy who loves cars and has actually raced irl.
Forza was *NEVER* a franchise made by people with a passion for automobiles and motorsports. Turn 10 was created by MS as a way to get a GT-like game on their platform, the Xbox. In 2005, the first Forza Motorsport game was finally released on Xbox to compete with the nearly year old GT4 on PS2. Dan Greenawalt and company (the people of Turn 10), to my knowledge, have no experience driving cars at the limit, never mind formally racing like Kazunori Yamauchi had a short racing career and company (the people at Polyphony Digital) have all been trained to drive cars at the limit courtesy of Kazunori San's connections within the world of motorsport. PD has real passion, and it shows in their work, that being Gran Turismo. Evolution Studios also had real passion, and that showed in their work Driveclub, which still, overall, looks better than GT7. No one who has seen the world outside really believes Forza Motorsport 2023 holds a candle to the technical prowess of Polyphony Digital's or Evolution Studios' latest released games. The latter studio's latest released game shipped nearly 10 years ago exclusively for PS4 and was never upgraded to leverage PS4 Pro's capabilities, and yet it still outshines Forza Motorsport 2023 easily.

i’m shocked there’s such a gulf between the 2 games. FM is so far off GT7 it’s untrue. PD have always had the passion for detail and it shows this is the case right here. FM lighting is so harsh whereas GT7 is dynamic and delicate, textures are so bad in FM - every surface looks the same. whereas you can almost feel the tyre rubber in GT7…light years apart really.
As a long time Forza fan, Polyphony Digital absolutely humiliates the lazy work Turn 10 has done. All the great strides and improvements PlayGround Games has made with FH5 was completely ignored by Turn 10.
I won't say that Turn 10 has been lazy, rather that they may have done their best within the budget they were allowed, which unfortunately meant REUSING pretty much every assets from previous games.

The higher ups making the deadlines have no clue how game development works or why rushing a game and releasing it unfinished is bad. I'm not 100% excusing the devs though, they're not children who need to be protected, they also share some of the blame. We really don't know for sure what went down in the studio but it's mostly a case of them not getting their shit together in time before the deadline. What's really egregious is the straight up lies throughout the trailer. "built from the ground up" repeated over and over when it's blatantly untrue. I wish someone would sue Microsoft or T10 over this, you can't just peddle bullshit like that to people nowadays, it's straight up false advertising.
@@overheatedeskim054 The texture quality is better on GT7, some polygonal elements are just smoother on the GT7 car, the colours are more vivid and the ray tracing is smoother and more detailed. GT7 is objectively better at the graphics, and though I would call neither photo-real, GT7 gets much closer to that than Xbox, at least with these pics.

One is made by people passionate not just about cars but their own game. The other is made by some guy in an office cranking out models all day because their platform needs a GT game, too. One studio is inspired by the real world and capturing and sharing it in digital form. The other studio is tasked with emulating their results. One studio is lead by a guy that fell in love with the original GT-R and idolised its engineer while in university. The other studio is lead by whoever the platform holder put there and would be just as happy being reassigned to some other job with exciting new possibilities. Polyphony Digital has been making the same game with the same team since the late 20th century and they show not a hint of being done with it.
I love gt 7 i do for 26 years now to see how far it has come is amazing now with the new spec 2 update and sophy AI getting added the game is crazy and blows forza clear out of the water without a doubt
i wouldn't be surprised if it came from fm5. some came from fm2, this didn't because this car wasn't a thing back then, because if it was, it would probably be from fm2 😂

I don't know why the Forza developers thought everything looking hazy, washed out, dirty and abandoned in the desert was the way people wanted their cars to look. This isn't even a comparison. GT7 has no comparison on console, and only PC games running super high settings and sometimes mod packs to equal the models/lighting of GT. Glare is GT7s problem. Polyphony thinks the sun is ALWAYS shining in your eyes from multiple reflections all the time. So strange.
I personally prefer the way GT handles this over Forza. Cars are very shiny and angular, and on a clear sunny day, cause bright reflections that are hard to even look at without sun glasses on. Forza just goes the bloom route, which was ugly and lazy even 2 generations ago
Forza developers got this wrong didn't they. I do really like the new handling - IMO it's the best Forza has ever felt with a wheel - but I'm so disappointed in the graphics. I mean, the XSX is a pretty powerful unit and yet this game looks 10 years old.
@@DanielAlvarez-o6n My brother has a PS5 with GT7 and yeah I ain't even gonna try to say Forza looks better. GT7 still looks blatantly like a console game (I play on PC) but a beautiful one at that. I just also realized it's on PS4 too, so that explains why it didn't blow me away as much as I expected. Another next gen game held back by having to also release on a previous gen console, what a shame.
GT7 looks really good in some shots, in other fails a bit, like on the windscreen and top, but generally the mesh desnity is extremelly good for a game, it almost looks enough for studio renders for advertisment etc, texturing is also really good. Forza on the other hand... It's awful, how can an open game like Horizon 5 look significally better than a track game like motorsport? Idk
@@ildskimi I'm not comparing both to each other in my coment, but analysing them separetly. GT7 looks clearly much better in any scenario than Forza, but in isolation, the shots of the windscreen and top in GT7 aren't as realistic looking as the other shots in GT7.
It's funny you say that about the advertising renders. Polyphony has used their engine to produce advertising renders for a few manufacturers including Ferrari and BMW

Both games are trash they not even proper Sims , both games are very inconsistent when u play gt7 sometimes it looks awful but sometimes it looks amazing same for motersport even horizon beat them in graphics ACC still is way better 😊
And your comparing a cross gen game to a supposed next gen "built from the ground up" game 😬 polyphony are magicians when it comes to car scanning. Every button and cable tie is alive inside every car in PSVR2. What could they do if they were only catering for ps5 ??? 🤔
GT7 looks unreal, whatever console you play on. Everyone complaining about a game being on last gen because they “hold back potential” is stupid. Yeah, GT7 looks better on a PS5, but it’s not like the PS4 doesn’t do it justice. “The next gen gaming experience” is just a marketing scheme.
honestly it seems like a big chunk of gt7's budget went towards its VR mode.The main ps5 mode just seems very unfinished and unfufilling. It is still enjoyable, but I wonder if we wouldve gotten a much bebtter product if VR wasn't implemented. Barely anybody even owns the PSVR2 it has extremely low sales. That's probably why polyphony was so incentivized to work on the VR mode, to get more sales on the VR.
@@jclive2860 not sure where you are getting low sales from, Bloombergs report was fake news, probably Xbox paid. Sony's figures were over double that in the first 6 weeks which is well ahead of the original psvr and that was before it was even in retail. I think there will be a bit of a shock when they release the next figures. And GT7 is an adaption of GT sport, which had already had a VR mode. The PSVR2 pretty much inhances that itself. The showroom's etc as fantastic as they look are also not that much work as you are viewing an almost perfect scan of a car that has already been done anyway. There are videos of polyphonys scanning booth out there. So no I disagree polyphony are slow but they hopefully have something big cooking for the next update. Forzas release should keep them on there toes 🤞

Probably because no game out there will match the model quality for awhile especially with the laser scanned precision of the models. We're probably not even looking at the full quality version considering they made the models in time for GTSport on the PS4 and the same models look better with higher polygon count in GT7.
Actually, the car models are so detailed they couldn't even be entirely ported to GT7. They are only visible during the menu's and just getting the camera close to them tanks the framerate.
@@cloudmangalm03 I don't see an issue with that, if i scan a model and it is ridiculously detailed, why re-scan? the new hardware would just render the models now better than the old hardware and then you can use lighting techniques etc to make them look even better, i really don't know how they would be able to get the models to look better than reality, is that even possible?
What system are you playing motoraport o because my seriesX looks nothing like what u are displaying as seriesx. There are no juggles, anti aliasing..? What when you are racing and take a pic or replay & take a pic or better yet painting & detailing it looks waaaaay better than what you are showing.

Been playing Forza for over a month now with G920 steering wheel, shifter, the whole deal. The gameplay is fantastic but I will say the graphics were better on Forza Horizon 5

GT7 Today, it's many times better than the GT7 of yesteryear because they're always constantly evolving, and even though this game is a "Cross Gen" game, it's managing to be a thousand times better at everything Forza Motor Sport or any racing game that exists._*
This was recorded a month ago. In the latest upgrade, T10 has fixed RTAO bugs to make the shadow effect more natural, but the vehicle model remains the same.😀
Forza fan since 2015 here, gotta say I love Gran Turismo 7. Currently playing it on the PS4 Pro with a 1080P TV and it looks ten times better than anything in the new Forza Motorsport. I was so disappointed with it I refunded my $100 from the ultimate edition that I just did not give a fuck. I’ve not even tried playing because they gave more attention to the tracks than the cars or detail of customization. GT7 has done this ten fold and has brought me back to gaming when other games have failed to give me the same feeling. I haven’t felt the proper use of an automotive racing RPG and would wish more games had similar vibes with different atmospheres and more attention towards different things but a car game should prioritize cars. Not maps or BS like micro transactions. So to see Forza fumble the bag on the only thing they can sell mind boggles me to death. Thank you Polyphony.

GT modeling is definitely better, but this isn't gameplay. this is photo mode and the lods are all pushed way higher than gameplay footage. and GT is also using raytracing, which it doesn't have when actually playing it.
Im on ps4pro. It doesnt even have ray tracing capabilities at all. I can tell you: in scapes in the garage, random real places across the world, and your car model going through them, sort of a screensaver. If you didnt know its a game, at first glance, you would swear its real. Like a commercial or something. It looks incredible.
Remember, Turn10 literally called FM8 "the most technically advanced racing game ever made". They're the ones who set the expectations that high, they're the ones who took "shots" at GT7 by implying their games look, feel and sound better. The fact it can't even match Polyphony Digital's cross-gen title despite being a next-gen one makes FM8 even more of a joke. Turn10 should be ashamed of themselves

Turn 10 was created by MS as a way to get a GT-like game on their platform, the Xbox. In 2005, the first Forza Motorsport game was finally released on Xbox to compete with the nearly year old GT4 on PS2. Dan Greenawalt and company (the people of Turn 10), to my knowledge, have no experience driving cars at the limit, never mind formally racing like Kazunori Yamauchi had a short racing career and company (the people at Polyphony Digital) have all been trained to drive cars at the limit courtesy of Kazunori San's connections within the world of motorsport. PD has real passion, and it shows in their work, that being Gran Turismo. Evolution Studios also had real passion, and that showed in their work Driveclub, which still, overall, looks better than GT7.
No one who has seen the world outside really believes Forza Motorsport 2023 holds a candle to the technical prowess of Polyphony Digital's or Evolution Studios' latest released games. The latter studio's latest released game shipped nearly 10 years ago exclusively for PS4 and was never upgraded to leverage PS4 Pro's capabilities, and yet it still outshines Forza Motorsport 2023 easily.

i’m shocked there’s such a gulf between the 2 games. FM is so far off GT7 it’s untrue. PD have always had the passion for detail and it shows this is the case right here. FM lighting is so harsh whereas GT7 is dynamic and delicate, textures are so bad in FM - every surface looks the same. whereas you can almost feel the tyre rubber in GT7…light years apart really.
As a long time Forza fan, Polyphony Digital absolutely humiliates the lazy work Turn 10 has done. All the great strides and improvements PlayGround Games has made with FH5 was completely ignored by Turn 10.
I won't say that Turn 10 has been lazy, rather that they may have done their best within the budget they were allowed, which unfortunately meant REUSING pretty much every assets from previous games.

The higher ups making the deadlines have no clue how game development works or why rushing a game and releasing it unfinished is bad. I'm not 100% excusing the devs though, they're not children who need to be protected, they also share some of the blame. We really don't know for sure what went down in the studio but it's mostly a case of them not getting their shit together in time before the deadline.
What's really egregious is the straight up lies throughout the trailer. "built from the ground up" repeated over and over when it's blatantly untrue. I wish someone would sue Microsoft or T10 over this, you can't just peddle bullshit like that to people nowadays, it's straight up false advertising.

GT7 is objectively better at the graphics, and though I would call neither photo-real, GT7 gets much closer to that than Xbox, at least with these pics.

One studio is inspired by the real world and capturing and sharing it in digital form.

One studio is lead by a guy that fell in love with the original GT-R and idolised its engineer while in university.
The other studio is lead by whoever the platform holder put there and would be just as happy being reassigned to some other job with exciting new possibilities.
Polyphony Digital has been making the same game with the same team since the late 20th century and they show not a hint of being done with it.

Why doesnt sun reflect off car in forza. Cars are rounded, so there should be at least 1 point that directly reflects sun. As seen in gt7.
I don't know why the Forza developers thought everything looking hazy, washed out, dirty and abandoned in the desert was the way people wanted their cars to look.
This isn't even a comparison. GT7 has no comparison on console, and only PC games running super high settings and sometimes mod packs to equal the models/lighting of GT.
Glare is GT7s problem. Polyphony thinks the sun is ALWAYS shining in your eyes from multiple reflections all the time. So strange.
I personally prefer the way GT handles this over Forza. Cars are very shiny and angular, and on a clear sunny day, cause bright reflections that are hard to even look at without sun glasses on. Forza just goes the bloom route, which was ugly and lazy even 2 generations ago

Forza developers got this wrong didn't they. I do really like the new handling - IMO it's the best Forza has ever felt with a wheel - but I'm so disappointed in the graphics. I mean, the XSX is a pretty powerful unit and yet this game looks 10 years old.

It's funny you say that about the advertising renders. Polyphony has used their engine to produce advertising renders for a few manufacturers including Ferrari and BMW

honestly it seems like a big chunk of gt7's budget went towards its VR mode.The main ps5 mode just seems very unfinished and unfufilling. It is still enjoyable, but I wonder if we wouldve gotten a much bebtter product if VR wasn't implemented. Barely anybody even owns the PSVR2 it has extremely low sales. That's probably why polyphony was so incentivized to work on the VR mode, to get more sales on the VR.
@@jclive2860 not sure where you are getting low sales from, Bloombergs report was fake news, probably Xbox paid. Sony's figures were over double that in the first 6 weeks which is well ahead of the original psvr and that was before it was even in retail. I think there will be a bit of a shock when they release the next figures. And GT7 is an adaption of GT sport, which had already had a VR mode. The PSVR2 pretty much inhances that itself. The showroom's etc as fantastic as they look are also not that much work as you are viewing an almost perfect scan of a car that has already been done anyway. There are videos of polyphonys scanning booth out there. So no I disagree polyphony are slow but they hopefully have something big cooking for the next update. Forzas release should keep them on there toes 🤞

Probably because no game out there will match the model quality for awhile especially with the laser scanned precision of the models. We're probably not even looking at the full quality version considering they made the models in time for GTSport on the PS4 and the same models look better with higher polygon count in GT7.
Actually, the car models are so detailed they couldn't even be entirely ported to GT7. They are only visible during the menu's and just getting the camera close to them tanks the framerate.

Forza fan since 2015 here, gotta say I love Gran Turismo 7. Currently playing it on the PS4 Pro with a 1080P TV and it looks ten times better than anything in the new Forza Motorsport. I was so disappointed with it I refunded my $100 from the ultimate edition that I just did not give a fuck. I’ve not even tried playing because they gave more attention to the tracks than the cars or detail of customization. GT7 has done this ten fold and has brought me back to gaming when other games have failed to give me the same feeling. I haven’t felt the proper use of an automotive racing RPG and would wish more games had similar vibes with different atmospheres and more attention towards different things but a car game should prioritize cars. Not maps or BS like micro transactions. So to see Forza fumble the bag on the only thing they can sell mind boggles me to death. Thank you Polyphony.

GT modeling is definitely better, but this isn't gameplay. this is photo mode and the lods are all pushed way higher than gameplay footage. and GT is also using raytracing, which it doesn't have when actually playing it.
it doesnt matter as in Forza you can't even tell the difference with RT on or OFF, this gives an apples to apples comparo.
Im on ps4pro. It doesnt even have ray tracing capabilities at all. I can tell you: in scapes in the garage, random real places across the world, and your car model going through them, sort of a screensaver. If you didnt know its a game, at first glance, you would swear its real. Like a commercial or something. It looks incredible.
Remember, Turn10 literally called FM8 "the most technically advanced racing game ever made".
They're the ones who set the expectations that high, they're the ones who took "shots" at GT7 by implying their games look, feel and sound better.
The fact it can't even match Polyphony Digital's cross-gen title despite being a next-gen one makes FM8 even more of a joke.
