Start your channel name with an A, so you can be in the top of the subscription list. Or with a number. 2 Danny 2 Furious and 2veritasium are on top of my subscription list. It's smart of him to place the 2 on the beginning instead of the end, so he's way higher up than if the name started with a V, which is only 4 letters removed from Z.
my name used to consist of V because I had a V for vendetta theme going on, maybe that was my mistake the name was cool in my head but for a brand .. not so much.

if i name my channel with name like "gamevil" can it be considered as violent or offensive name? since it has word "evil"in it, may youtube won't monetize my channel because of that?
I wonder if my intentional misspelling of my channel name affects how memorable it is in a positive or negative way? I did it for future copyright reasons. 😎👍
Well, it's relatively short and as you were intentional in the alternative spelling, over time, as your community gets to know you, I think it should be fine.

I actually came up with the idea of my motorcycle obsession channel and renamed one of my old dead channels. My primary channel is named after me, simply 'Chris Hardwick'. Everyone in the ball python industry knows me by name. I named my new channel 'My Motorcycle Obsession' primarily to target merch in the future, makes a better t-shirt than Chris the snake guy LOL. Actually my Chris Hardwick channel started out as 'AAA Webmaster' over 10 years ago and I renamed it before really posting a lot. Also, when people ask about my motorcycle channel it's easy to search for and remember 'my motorcycle obsession' and it comes up number one in the search.

I know that frustration when a channel name you thought is taken my someone else. Fortunately my channel name isn't taken but I would like to change it because it's too long but can't think of anything
I really wanted the channel name Scruffy but when I looked it up there is a RUclipsr unverified with 300 k subs with that name. Should I still use scruffy or no. SruffyMcDuffy was going to be my alternative since I wanna make Minecraft vids. Is that good?
wondering if using Apple or iPhone breaches their trademark which is against youtube terms for a name? also should you put popular search keywords in your name?
my question is actually if it can confuse the algorithm, old/new subscribers/viewers, my target group when there’s another channel with the same name. i created a channel (not this one), let say abcdef ghijkl, which i created first, but now there’s another that’s called ghijkl abcdef. idk if i should change my name (i’m still news started less than a year ago, have a few hundred subscribers and not even 10 videos). i currently am not sure how to continue. i’d definitely update my audience but i’m still worried about it. what if i lose some of my audience? what if this happens again? i made sure that my channel name didn’t exist before. i don’t understand why the other person didn’t. or they might’ve checked, considering they switched the words, but why did they not care?
That was actually a process I went through. Renamed like 3 times in the beginning. Strangly RUclips does not always show the correct name. Did you notice something on your channel , too?
VidiQ, I started my channel on 17 March and on 25th another channel that showed up with the same name as mine and till that time I was the only one with the name. That channel is kind of inactive now but is there anything I should do now?

Hermitcraft Recap 9. Luke TheNotable 10. Silo Entertainment 11. The Food Theorists 12. The Film Theorists 13. The Game Theorists
I didn't want to over think my channel name when I got started. I wanted to keep it simple and silly but not too goofy. However my life has changed in so many ways I don't even know which way to pivot right now. I ended up making videos about my life situations here and there and now it's like, if I do that I sort of want a more serious name but not too serious I guess. I suppose I can mention but this point I struggle with a health condition called psoriasis. I did not want to make it my focus as a content creator but it disrupts my life. So all my goals are kind of delayed while I learn to manage such a health issue. Auto immune protocol diets etc.
Mine is a name that I used somewhat when I was a kid (IIRC) and didn't really use it much as I got older, but decided to start using it again last year and into this year.
It was actually easy for me to pick a channel name i had it in mind for a while before starting but I don’t know if it’s actually a good yt channel name, i would like to hear an opinion on it :D
I did NOT connect the dots for Excel-lent Dude, lol. Surprisingly almost every channel I watch is about personal branding (e.g. Kurt Hugo Schneider, Liziqi, Michelle Phan); I almost couldn't imagine the alternative (except for educational channels).
I have one number in my name but its only because before I changed it, less people found my channel because there was more than one person with my name
I like my great race channel name called Zelda Diecast cause i love Zelda game since i was a kid like to play Zelda Game on nintendo console and so on.
Hey vidIQ! My name has 3 numbers, but I can’t think of a original name that is just as good as this one. My name is still 5 syllables though. Should I change it or not?

Someone help! If I have a 4 second clip of driving with the radio on and a song is playing do I need to do anything as far as a disclaimer etc...?
Sir I can not understand is my channel got dead?
wondering if using Apple or iPhone breaches their trademark which is against youtube terms for a name? also should you put popular search keywords in your name?
Brick and Mortar, that, via video is being made "Immortal" 😉
2:10 yeah sorry but I may have broken that rule a bit.. great video btw!
my question is actually if it can confuse the algorithm, old/new subscribers/viewers, my target group when there’s another channel with the same name. i created a channel (not this one), let say abcdef ghijkl, which i created first, but now there’s another that’s called ghijkl abcdef. idk if i should change my name (i’m still news started less than a year ago, have a few hundred subscribers and not even 10 videos). i currently am not sure how to continue. i’d definitely update my audience but i’m still worried about it. what if i lose some of my audience? what if this happens again?
i made sure that my channel name didn’t exist before. i don’t understand why the other person didn’t. or they might’ve checked, considering they switched the words, but why did they not care?
I'm happy with my channel name. Good tips in here though
Happy to help!
I can't believe that i made this channel name that no one has "TimeOfAnimate"😊😊😊❤❤❤
The Behavior Panel. 6 or 7 syllables, depending
Can you do a video on channel homepage layout?
I have been debating. for long time if I should change mine or not it means something to me, but I just don't know if it any good for RUclips.
That was actually a process I went through. Renamed like 3 times in the beginning. Strangly RUclips does not always show the correct name. Did you notice something on your channel , too?
I think it can take a little while for the name change to be reflected on RUclips.
@@vidIQ it only happens, when friends search the channel
Hey vidIQ, so like what should channels with mixes content, like mine do? Also, is my name up to the mark?
Is it ok to keep a channel name similar to other big channels?
I WISH EVERY STARTING/STRUGGLING RUclipsR THE BEST FOR 2022 DONT GIVE UP! YOU GOT THIS❤️
That Music Guy...PERFECT!!!
VidiQ,
I started my channel on 17 March and on 25th another channel that showed up with the same name as mine and till that time I was the only one with the name. That channel is kind of inactive now but is there anything I should do now?

My problem is that I really like my name but it’s TERRIBLE for seo
Nyc vid. BTW I've made my banner and channel description even more specific than before thanks to your audit
Hey Vidiq, what font do you use on your thumbnail? I’ve been trying to find a nice font and I love how it looks
Thank you I have always wanted to be a big youtuber
I didn't want to over think my channel name when I got started. I wanted to keep it simple and silly but not too goofy. However my life has changed in so many ways I don't even know which way to pivot right now. I ended up making videos about my life situations here and there and now it's like, if I do that I sort of want a more serious name but not too serious I guess. I suppose I can mention but this point I struggle with a health condition called psoriasis. I did not want to make it my focus as a content creator but it disrupts my life. So all my goals are kind of delayed while I learn to manage such a health issue. Auto immune protocol diets etc.
Had a hard time choosing a name tbh 😂 but i do really love it
Wow you are a legend 😂
Congrats on 1k subs!
@@vidIQ TQ very much, reaching the magic number ✅ and u saying that really meant a lot ❤️
Mine is a name that I used somewhat when I was a kid (IIRC) and didn't really use it much as I got older, but decided to start using it again last year and into this year.
Yeah I didn't discover how common thegamingwolf was untill I tried to find my own account to see how searchable it was.
It was actually easy for me to pick a channel name i had it in mind for a while before starting but I don’t know if it’s actually a good yt channel name, i would like to hear an opinion on it :D
This is where I'm right now all the names I'm thinking of are taken
I did NOT connect the dots for Excel-lent Dude, lol. Surprisingly almost every channel I watch is about personal branding (e.g. Kurt Hugo Schneider, Liziqi, Michelle Phan); I almost couldn't imagine the alternative (except for educational channels).
I have one number in my name but its only because before I changed it, less people found my channel because there was more than one person with my name
I guess I hit the bulls eye with my channel name :D
71k more to the golden play button, ensure to save an amazing spot to put it up in the background. 😉
Is it possible for more than one channel to have the same name? Can I assume my name is unique?
