(A) getting subscribers or (B) getting watch time?

A is hardest, getting watch time is the easier part, getting them to actually subscribe to your channel is much more difficult

@@HaarisQureshi-rt7vt That's right 👉 Yeee-Haah! Go go go!
Exactly!!!
To small (tiny even) RUclipsrs like myself, information like this is so contradictory. There is a plethora of videos to watch to try and help improve my channel. But the "how to succeed" videos differ drastically from one to the next. At the end of the day, I still scratch my head not knowing what ARE the most important things to do.
Quality, I do accept is extremely important. But if nobody watches, it doesn't matter how good the videos are.
real talk, yt should only be a part of your overall strategy if you're trying to be a content creator full time, or want to build an audience imo. I think that being genuinely involved in your niche's community builds an ideal, dedicated audience organically. you probably also want to figure out how to most efficiently diversify your content distribution, but there's no single correct way to do this imo. that's what I've been trying to figure out for myself, and tbh it's not easy b/c it's so personalized.
it doesn't help that youtube treats their algorithm like a mystery meat hotdog that sources it's ingredients from classified sources lol.
I also think a lot of what ppl think works is essentially confirmation bias, so you have to know your audience well enough to know what will engage them and make them watch your content. because of my personal viewing habits, I'm regularly getting recommended channels that are waaay smaller, but actually relate to me more. it's been refreshing to see so much more diversity in my recommendations, to say the least.
it's a lot, lol.
@@salinalee2613 Thank you Salina. I totally agree with you 💯
Put some bacon, cheese and onion on the hotdog though, and it's nearly fine dining.
I love my work and because of it, I get to experience some amazing locations! Which in turn, provides me with wonderful subject matter. I am happy with the way YT is going for me, and I have incredible video diaries to enjoy now and in the future.
Everyone’s experience is different on RUclips. And a majority of this advice is based on personal experiences. If you watch these ‘how to’ videos on YT, you’ll see that almost everyone agrees that a good thumbnail is a must for views. Sam Sulek would disagree. Always remember that at the end of the day, these ‘how to’ video creators are doing these for their own benefit. They need the views for their own accounts. If you think that these RUclipsrs are worried about how others will grow on YT, then you need to shift your perspective and get in term with reality.
There is a common thread among the videos.
1. Stay consistent
2. Use shorts but don't over use them because it will split your audience
3. Quality content.
4. Good title
5. Good thumbnail
This is what I got after watching HOURS of this type of video.
All the "experts " do nothing but contradict each other
If your reading this I hope your channel grows 100x, I just recently came back and its tough out there but its important not to lose hope!
So basically you made 0 rupees but you're breathing enough copium ?
@@ScarReal Yeah I'm not monetized and the whole point of the comment was to give people hope that RUclips is still an option! So whats your point?

Mine already has🎉😂❤

I pray that all the new and struggling RUclipsrs grow as we implement it
Tags have been so overrated. So glad someone finally addressed this, thanks Judah!
*I will continue to post tags and do SEO on all videos, including the root videos and thumbnails as I have done for 8 long years.*
Please do:)
i can't upload often but channel is growing slowly and steadily.
Hello
Some say use tags and other coaches say not too. I’m doing an experiment now without them to see how it may be effecting my channel. Thank you for sharing.
Any update?
I use them, not sure they help.
Thanks for clarifying this topic!!! Be wary and careful of the SEO experts telling you that without their services your channel will never grow! I get at least 1 a day. They sound very convincing and will 'cherry-pick' one of your videos that is underperforming. Do not respond to these scammers. Block them and delete them!
I got one last week telling me my SEO expert 😮😮😮

i agree, we should definately publish every video with nice title and thumbnail, also with description making algorithm understand what our channel is about but still we have to add tags for seo, even this video has done acceptable seo.

Same lol
Dont worry about SEO. Your viewers need to feel rewarded by your efforts in content creation. They are buying your products with their time. The viewers doesnt give handouts. And will feel cheated or robbed if you to take their time and offer no value.
Just something to try, record you event, then make a script and re record the story with a script, then add the original footage as B-roll and re record the scripted event to add clarity to the original event. Your not cheating, it juat need back story to build context to the climax, if the viewer feel rewarded they will engage. For example you responded to this creators video, gave him your time and he got paid from youtube adds. But you personally felt value from his creattion and engaged on his video. The Algorithm juat tracks this engagement and helps this creators statitics. 🎥🎬
@LivingAlaska thank you. But I think SEO help to deliver your video to the right audience especially to small channels like myself.
For example, one of my most popular videos on tiktok got a boost of views because I was talking about first day of summer in the caption and everyone was searching it that day 😅
things they arent telling you in this video that are important, 1) zero volume keywords 2) entity based SEO 3) topic clustering.
Explain what those are please

Havn't put enough thought into my descriptions! Thank you for the video!
Great info on description. You let me know what I’m doin wrong or right…mostly wrong. So now I can fix it goin forward and even go back and fix them too.
I saw the post about a good title for this and thought this was going to argue tags are pointless. Another video doing well explaining how to make tags important but it's part of the equation. I'd add while you do want to upload what the audience wants, you shouldn't do videos that you have no interest in.
Tags with keywords and phrases can physically be put into the description and they will get picked up by the search engine. It's a tidy way to organize keywords in the description. For example, in the description put, tags: keywords one, keywords two, keywords three.
I have decided the RUclips algorithm is ridiculous.
The reality I have spent so much time working on my videos but it has somehow got it wrong.
I have done a comparison between FB and YT.
My videos do about 15-20 times better on FB than on YT.
People clearly find my videos interesting.
My last two videos on YT have less then 100 views and yet FB has given them thousands and climbing over the last two weeks.
My Facebook account was started 1 month ago properly. Before then it had 30-40 people on it. Now it has 5k friends but my videos over the last two weeks have had around 20k views.
When I compare that between 120 views for the same video… I am sick of this!!
I mean the entire ecosystem is entirely different. it’s not usual for creators to have better success in other platforms. The shareability alone is different, sharing a RUclips video is not as easy as quickly sharing a Facebook video back to your feed. The audience is also different. Is a lot of different things that have to play in the success or failure on different platforms. are you on any other platforms? How are those performing?
@@TubeBuddy I have spent thousands of hours understanding RUclips… my videos have gone really well until the last 5-6 videos where it is like being shadow banned… and seriously I put the same videos on FB and it explodes!
Why, when it is so hard to monetise (I am) and you work so hard to understand your audience etc… but the Ai changed and my videos went down! Previously I was at least slowly progressing in an upward trend.
I am a vlogger… both FB and YT do well with this content. My content is similar to some very famous Vloggers and yet Facebook treats me well and YT treats me like a dog over the last few videos!
This is NOT about the differences. I have literally only started my FB journey and yet it is exploding on FB. The work you do on FB pays off 10-15 times that of YT! Why beat myself over the head? YT needs to get its act together. It is destroying creators like me.
Have a look at my latest video… it has been out for 9 hours and has done less than 13 views! The same video has done close to 25 times that on FB and the only reason it is only 25 times that is I put out two videos on one day on FB… the other video has done 3.6k and climbing steadily competing with the other video of mine!
@@travelwithroland2Somewhat same here. May my vids took off. Subscribers went up to 40, and then in June YT pulled the plug. Everything went down to almost zero. I was on FB and followers were going way up with no problems. But here on YT I gained 4 new subscribers the past two days. Then the past two hours YT removed them so back down they put me. They suppress small channels.
@@DiamondFoodReviewOnline people keep saying make better videos!!!
Well… anyone who watches mine says that they really are good. They don’t fit the fast tap tap tap of Mr Beast. They are a more relaxed feel.. gentle like you want a true vlogg of Philippine islands to be. You want to see beauty and interesting places with interesting drone angles and storytelling.
I had a very famous vlogger who gets millions of views a month look at my videos, comment on them, tell me he likes my videos, and then he used some of my ideas because he like them so much! That is the standard- that someone likes my videos that they comment and use the ideas on mapping. I love that vlogger even more for doing that! So the videos are good. I know that… so RUclips needs to get the algorithm right for smaller channels or growing channels. Because Facebook has got it right!!

Great tip. I’ve been going with the suggested thumbnail from YT. Tried a custom one and didn’t see to much a difference so perhaps the title. Hashtags are good but should we also put competitors in our description as hashtags?

Just set the tags to the channel content niche and let it roll, I use the 300-400 first characters for the "set key" tags and the last 3-5 I do myself based on what the video specifically contains.

Great tips. Do they hold true for a live stream vs. a video?
Hmm, that's a really good question that I'm honestly not sure about. I get how things work after the stream, but during it? Not sure. I will have to look into this. But after the video is done streaming, all of this would be true.

Very helpful advice with regards to boosting SEO. You make it very clear and easy to understand that just making the simplest of changes can have a big effect. I did have a feeling that there was a happy medium number of characters for an ideal title length, so that's helpful.
Also, just as a constructive side note, you tend to say "content" too often and I find that off-putting at times.
Thank you

Don’t think of folksonomic keywords as separate datasets, try seeing them as connected assets. For example, if semantic cluster (groups of keywords) reflect the AI generated transcript, the trust (part of EAT) is higher. In plain English, tags = what you are talking about.
Google publishes the model cards and research papers on their feed & search AI. Worth a read?
Great insight on connecting keywords to transcripts for trust! Those Google papers sound intriguing - could spark a video on how this applies to RUclips in addition to considering factors like CTR, watch time, surveys, and engagement. Thanks for the idea!
You nailed it bro. The title and thumbnail is it! Been doing videos on my channel but none ever crossed 200 views until I released a video that just crossed 16.5K views and added over 180 subs within week! I was totally blown away!
