i have the 700 no abs , manual im a mechanic i can tell you this bike is built as an all around bike that fits many pockets... meaning ... it has just the mechanics that are needed to be reliable ergonomic and economic hence the single front rotor, single exhaust and the engine is mounted allmost horizontally not only for cog its also mounted that way because it can be easily serviced.... japanese have had these in mind... low cost low maintainance bulletproof engine 6500 rpm undersquared with lots of torque high quality built and as you pointed not for showoff... gets you anywhere allways low profile....
I bought a used 2012 last year with 33K miles now have 35K running great. Only thing I notice is a rattle in neutral that goes away when the clutch is pulled in and resumes when clutch lever is let out only when bike is in neutral. LOVE the trunk and added a Givi top case & Madstad windshield. Average 58 MPG Reliable and easy to access to maintain.
Mike FreeRider Gagne That's pretty impressive 👍 I have mine since 2013 and now 80000km on the clock. Absolutely love the bike and I am happy that you think it's awesome too. A lot of people unfortunately don't seem to be able to really appreciate this bike and I don't understand why. Safe rides and travels 👍🏍
@@Herzankerkreuz67 Most people in USA keep a bike 2 years or less and so are never satisfied with any bike. We live in the age of too much power so 2 cylinders + 50 bhp is a non-starter for most. But anyone that cares about low ownership cost and high MPG + trunk this is a great bike.
Thanks mate for just sticking to the good and bad and really explaining it well. Most other bike reviews have so much useless ranting which can be irritating.
I have the 2016 Honda NC700X DCT & absolutely love it !! Technically has all the features yours has - 50cc in the Engine. What are you do to avoid scratching the consul is our use a hiker Style key chain & only have the key in the ignition with a small size stainless steel key ring. This reduces the clutter issue your dealing with. Also I’ve never been bothered by the turn signal issues your referring to. I’ve never put focus on the MPG or odometer but obviously that something that you focus on. This is my second NC700X DCT. originally I purchased the 2014 model than saw all the new updates Honda did to the 2016 & traded in my original bike for the newer model. You have a beautiful Motorcycle I hope you love it. Sounds like Honda finally discontinued the NC700X DCT in 2017 for the US market 😩
If you accidently swipe the turning light's switch and they turn on, you might not realize that they are on and that puts you in a dangerous position. I think this is the case with the intentional long press turning lights. Have I nice rides and be safe! :)
Hello thx for the great rewiev i bought the nc750x and i cant say that i have the same problem with the turn signal. All in all its a very good bike (i am in love) cause its just such a good all-roud bike.
Great info buddy. I'm a Brit living in Viseu and have been looking to change my XT660Z Tenere for one of these. (I have some rubbish videos on here). I don't ride off road anymore but like the relaxed riding style of this bike. Your video has been helpful. Thanks.
Awsome! I liked your offroad videos, I've been planning to do some true offroad like in your Serra de Arado one, you get to see trully amazing views! Thanks for the feedback =)
After 87k miles on the US sister the 2012 NC700.. I’d say you do a good review. I use an “air hawk “ seat pad on my trips which the longest was 10k miles in 21 days. My chain has been my weak point lasting about 12-16 k miles according to maintenance and road conditions. I put front fender extender on the front to protect my radiator. I have travel hard bags which I usually keep on the bike for convenience. The refill is annoying but only when I’m camping. Maintenance is pretty easy. The only issues so far are chains, and wheel bearings . It’s been a good bike. I ride with guys with 150hp bikes and the straight roads they makes me wish I had more power but my fuel economy makes m smile. I do usually run out of fuel first while riding with other tour bikes but not by much , I usually go 200-250 miles/tank according to speed.
Tim Zink Hello Tim: To preface; I own a Harley, used to have a Honda, raced a Yamaha, and my brother has one of these (700cc automatic, US derivative). This bike intrigues me as a no muss no fuss option to my chrome diamond, however I’ve always had problems with the compromises (Honda in particular seem to regularly make) made here. I get the same distance per tank and never have to worry about “keeping up” or speed ability. Belt drive lasts FOREVER and no grease on my wheel! I’m probably exaggerating, but not by much. NO PLASTIC ON MY BIKE. What does that mean; it’s 15 years old and is mistaken for new all the time. The Harley motor platform is very low reving... sub 3k rpm and via undersquare (long stroke) motor achieves extreme efficiency (50mpg +/-1) @1442cc’s and parts will ALWAYS be available. My irritant here is... fuel tank is way to small, and this is ubiquitous within Honda (just look at the new Goldwing) and Honda seems to design machines for sub-5’-8” rider... just too small. I want to like machines like this because the engineering is there, but the ergonomics, fit and finish just aren’t. My rant is simply... Honda; your so close but but yet soooo far. So to answer “why doesn’t anyone get this?”, we do, however, Honda doesn’t. Should you have retort... feel free to reply.
Last year I purchased a Black Norton 961 and Silver Honda NC750X. Both have now covered 4000km. The Norton is great looking and is brilliant to ride but has no stowage spaces for any gear and struggles to cover more than 200km between fuel fills. It also lacks a main stand which makes checking the tyres, chains and oil level awkward. The Honda was a 3rd of the price and is an excellent all-rounder. Mine has ABS, a Honda top box, heated grips, is comfortable, handles and rides fine and a full tank of fuel will take me 300km. The Honda negatives..........the electronic speedo is a pain to use on the move. It has nice big digits but trying to display trip mileage, range or even the time while on the move is asking for an accident. The Norton has a single button which scrolls thru total mileage, trip mileage, battery status and time. Simple and safer. The Honda wind screen keeps the rain off but causes wind buffeting. The seat height is spot on but the passenger hump tends to catch my foot when mounting the bike. The LED lights might save power but only illuminate small sections of road with either beam. The Norton easily wins here as well. The Honda front tyre is down to 2.5mm of tread already. The only way it is going to make 10,000km is if I start to push the bike a lot.
You make very interesting points. I agree with almost everything you said, but I have to disagree about the led lights. I find the arched and forward seeking illumination quite good when compared to most bikes on the market, though I admit I have no experience with the Norton, so I'll conceive there. Regarding the tyres, im currently with 21.000km and still have around 2mm left. Considering I'm only switching them when I reach the 1mm mark I think I'm on track to make the extra 4.000km. Thanks for sharing your experience with the NC! =D
The Norton headlight is just awesome in comparison. On dip you get a wide white cinema screen with a sharp top cut-off from the front wheel up to around 50 yards ahead. The main beam illuminates 100% of the road up to 200m or more. The light intensity is so high you can spot hazzards well in advance. On main beam, my Honda headlight puts a bright patch of light on the road but leaves me guessing what is either side or beyond or just in front of my wheels.
Regarding the turn signal activation: I think it's intentional that it doesn't activate very quickly. You need to be deliberate. This prevents accidental activation so that you don't look like you're going to turn when you've no intention of turning. It's less likely that someone will pull out in front of you, thinking that you're going to turn. The fuel tank filler is VERY inconvenient, being under the seat, if you're carrying luggage. It's the one feature that would prevent me from buying this bike.
It's so good to see an unbiased review! I'm tossing up between the NC750, CB500F and CBR500RA. I like higher touring handles of this bike. I prefer the larger tank of the RA and look. I think value wise, this seems a good option bike!
Glad you liked it =) I agree, the CBR500RA looks awsome! The biggest advantage the NC has over the CBR is utility and confort, but I would say the CBR is alot more fun to ride. Thanks for sharing =D
Thanks for posting your review, it looks like you are having an interesting time with your NC. I am lucky that I do not have the same problem with the indicator but I did notice the rear brake light moves around a bit. The NC has had such a varied reception from the bike community but I am not sure who could possibly hate this bike? The price, running costs, utility and looks seem to put it in a class of 1 in my humble opinion. Any new riders out there can do a lot worse than the NC750X as it is a very friendly bike. Happy riding!
I trully am, I think it's the perfect bike for the type of use I give it. I think most of the people that dislike the NC are mainly sport riders. They are used to fast, sporty, high reving bikes, so the NC just feels bland and boring to them. I agree with you 100%. Thanks for sharing! Happy riding!
I own an NC750X for a year, done 8000 km with it. This is what I feel about the bike: PRO - Great bike for beginners and commuters - Excellent fuel consumption, 3,5l / 100km - Fantastic DCT auomatic transmission - “Tank” storage area is very handy for urban riding - Low purchase price CONTRA - Low quality seat: I can’t ride the bike for more than 200 km - “Tank” storage area doesn’t hold a full face helmet. It almost does; my helmets goes in the bay but it’s not possible to close the lid. - Rear view mirror leave a big blind spot. Needs bigger and aspherical rear mirrors. - The wind shield is too low. - Headlight not sufficiently powerful to drive on motorways without street illumination. - Honda accessoires are very expensive compared to the economic purchase price of the bike. For example, the dealership wanted to charge me 800 euro to install two extra front lights.
The button for the indicators is made like that incase you catch the button by mistake, it needs a controlled push. Also if your having to do it that quickly you wont be giving other drivers enough reaction time, you should do these things methodically and safely.
Nice video, I have the same bike, but DCT model, very easy to ride. Same points than you noticed. I did 17500km with my first tires, now i put the michelin pilot road 4 that are very good in the rain. i have now 25000km and i feel i will have to change the chain in a few thousand km. Very good bike !
Thanks for watching, glad you liked it =) Same here, I'm at 22000km and I need to change my chains aswell. I'm replacing my rear tire at 22500km. The front one will last a few thousand more I think.
Thanks for the review. You surprised me with your tyre wear. I only got 7,600km from my set. Both tyres were nearly bald at that! And I'm not normally hard on tyres. Maybe there are different quality variants of the same tyre being fitted for different markets.
It turns out that the same model can come with different tyres. The NC originally came with Dunlop tyres that lasted about 8000km. Honda replaced them with Bridgestone battle wing's which are the ones i'm using. My rear tyre lasted around 23000km.
Seems like a good review but why are all the people in the comments commenting on a small fuel tank?? The fuel tank is plenty big enough and the bike gets great gas milage for what the bike was meant for. If you want a bigger fuel tank then go buy a touring bike.
A pretty good review but I'll say a little patience goes a long way. Griping because the blinker doesn't come on with a nano-second long flip? Really? It was no doubt designed like, as it is on most every bike I've owned and now own, so that an accidental bump doesn't turn your signals on unintentionally.
I think this is one of those late turn signal people. Where the light starts blinking after they are already in your lane. Maybe the cars in the future will criticize their driving. Restrict them from going five over for extended periods of time.
Good review! I think with the blinkers they are designed like that so they don't activate in case they are accidentally bumped or knocked. But I do understand how that can be annoying when you want to make a quick lane change or something.
One commentator here seems to think you are not to point out anything negative about the bike. He misses the point . Most things in life are a compromise including partners and friends. The good, bad and ugly are important things to know so a prospective buyer can make a decision to buy or look elsewhere..Thanks for the review.
excellent review, I have on mine (previous model) over 25k km and couldn't agree more on most of your comments. On mine though trip data is not reset, just display starts to blink and trip data is not showed. Annoying I agree. You can though switch back to trip data and view it after refueling. My biggest complain is suspension, very basic and damping is minimal.
Thanks for the feedback! =) I've heard alot of people with the same compaints about the suspension in previous models, though they replaced it in the 2016 model. So far I have no complaints about the suspension.
Hey my NC friend... The Display and Trip Information Starts to flashing "000" when the Tank comes to the Reserve !!! If you refill Petrol (Gas) and you Start the Bike all informations are Back !!! Your Informations are Safe Till you Reset by self.
Thanks for your Review! I own a NC 750 S DCT from 2016 and rode about 6500km so far. All in all I agree with your points, but it needs to be said, that this is complaining on a very high Level ;-)
Have your other keys on your pocket, problem solved. I think your issue with the indicators is irrelevant, I think the single brake disc is good as it saves weight. Fuel tank filler is definitely a pain. I like the incline engine which gives a low centre of gravity. For me I’d be looking at a suspension change and wire wheels with Mita E07 tyres to make it more off road oriented. Plus I’d change the exhaust to a lighter one with possible raising it’s height for off reading a gain. Just a note it’s light off road I’m referring too.
the "fast blinker" thing is made on purpose..."fast blinking" on newer Honda bikes is meant to turn the blinker Off, instead of setting it On...so you set it on, and "fast sweep" it to turn it off...its on the manual...
That single rotor up front is putting me off buying one. I'm thinking the power must be very lacking if they only put one disc on it, with only 2 pistons. My 550cc bike has two front discs, and it's 200cc lower than this. The BHP is around the same, which I find confusing. My AK550 isn't even high revving.
Nice review :) About reaching the petrol reserve - are you sure all the numbers are resetting? I noticed that when I hit the reserve, the display goes zero and starts going up, probably so you know how much of the 2.9 L of the reserve you used, but after the refill everything goes back to normal, including the counters
Thanks for pointing that out, I'll be making a 50,000Km review with the topics that I missed in this video. Regarding the transmission, mine is the manual version. The low reving nature of the engine makes for very short/frequent gear changes, particulary going from 1 to 4. For new riders this isn't really a problem, but for experienced riders it takes a bit getting used to I'll try to cover the transmission with more detail in a future video. Thanks for the feedback =D
Coming from a VFR800 6th Gen, I'm struggling with finding its character although it has many good things going for it namely, maintenance costs and fuel efficiency. Perhaps I should take it for a ride and get a real feel for it.
Great review, man! Really appreciate the honest feedback on the weaknesses as well as the many strengths. And thanks for doing it in English; your English is fantastic!
Nice review, thank you! Did you also consider to buy the S rather than the X model and if so, why did you choose the X? I drove the S very recently because I am looking for an uncomplicated, easy-to-use commuter bike. I liked it a lot and I think it is perfect for the job, especially around town. However, I find the X interesting too, so I am just curious about your reasoning to get the X.
Thanks! I knew about the S model but I never considered buying it. I could tell you I chose the X for the increased height, larger windscreen, etc... But in all honesty, I prefered the way the X looked when compared to the S. Plus, I wanted a bike that could take me places... either by going offroad or going on tours, and the X is more suited for those kind of activities.
Dan Moto Adventures Thanks for your reply, appreciate it! Yes, it makes a lot of sense, the X seems to be the more grown-up, better allround bike, especially with longer tours in mind. I’m not sure yet about the enduro-ish look, but the bike starts to grow on me the more I look at it. Enjoy yours and ride safely!
That would raise the centre of gravity, the low C of G being a winning feature of this bike, not to mention the neat storage compartment in the dummy tank.
Thanks for watching! It's an interesting perspective, though I find it unlikelly that anyone would hit the indicator by accident since you really have to go out of your way to reach it.
I've spent considerable time in offroad. Mainly in dirt and/or sand roads. You can check out the type of offroad in my other videos like: ruclips.net/video/tMn5Z0xc7-s/видео.html or ruclips.net/video/p8pb1ryCt-o/видео.html
To solve the petrol station refuelling situation, I suggest a Ventura tailpack which clips on to a seat bra which stays in place on the rear seat. The bags are available mail order from England. Cost 55 GBP. Two sizes: 10L expands to 14, and 14L expands to 22L. Totally waterproof and tested in a deluge between Portimao and Lagos. Do you like the X-ADV? Excellent review.
Thanks for the sugestion! I just checked the bag online, and it looks promissing =) I liked the ADV, but if I had to choose between the ADV and the NC750x I would choose the NC. I talked a bit about it in my other video here: ruclips.net/video/_2OWtVwwASA/видео.html
I owned the NC700X, although a bit onderpowered on highways compared to other bikes, loved it. But I always kept looking forwards towards my dream bike, the Africa Twin. I now own the CRF1000L for about 4 months... Boy, I think I'll be going back to the NC range. This CRF is just not my thing, eventhough it got me all hyped up during testing. The seat is a torture device after an hour. Its sloppy suspension is annoying (fixed it with Hyperpro Suspension €€€€€€€€), but there is something going on with the front suspension, that just keeps letting me feel every road irregularity. I have stripped the bike, did all the maintenance on the forks, but it just KEEPS BOUNCING. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME!!!!! Ok, anyway. The white NC750X really looks nice and I think I'll be on one next summer if this goddamn suspension crap can't be resolved. ... ... STUPID CRF1000L SUSPENSION!!!!!!!!!!
You don't have enough breaking power on the front maybe because the bike uses 75%-25% ratio on front/back wheels. So in order to have all 100% breaking power on the front, you have to use also the full pedal and only in this combined way you will get all the brake force in the front.
Thanks. It does have a fuel gauge. Found this video on youtube that shows the display nicely, the gauge is on the lower right corner: ruclips.net/video/bNJ7kfirsBI/видео.html
Front brakes are just fine. I did an advanced driver's course, and my nc750 had zero problems, even with hard braking. Course was at a closed track, so we did a lot of high speed braking. Everyday riding also no complaints, and I drive small roads with loads of gearchanges and braking. If you ever get 2 Denmark, you can have a testride on my bike :-)
Hey a nice review :) could you tell me where you got the givi crashbars? I can't find them for the 2016 model only for the previous models :/ btw have the same bike, same color etc ;)
Thanks =) I had them installed when I bought the bike from my local Honda stand. Maybe you should try asking in a Honda stand near you, or check out GIVI's acessories page: www.givi.co.uk/my-motorcycle#HONDA,NC750X_(16_>_17). I might be wrong, but I think the crashbars are the same for all NC models. Awsome choice! white NC's look so good! xD
No. The top box does not interfere with the fuel cap. The things that occupy the passenger seat are the ones that you need to take off before refuelling, because the fuel cap is underneath the seat. So if you take a dufflebag strapped in the back seat, for example, you will need to unstrap it before refuelling
Not sure if this review makes sense hey, Please do explain if am I missing something.. On 3,28 talks that he did 3L a 100 Kilometres. The tank of this bike is 14,1. At 13 mnts he commented that "its annoying that he has to refuel the tank every 300 kilometres". So acording to his first comment this bike should do 450 Kilometres when tank is full... ANY COMMENTS PLEASE?
Nice spot! I usually refill when the tank hits the reserve. I would be in a very bad spot if I waited for an empty tank to refill. And regarding the 3L consumption, I only get that in normal commuting days to work (and going easy on the throttle). When touring expect it to be around 3,4 / 3,6. Thanks for the comment, and I hope it made a little more sense =)
I agree on the larger tank. Regarding the seat, I made up to 800Km in one day and didn't find it lacking, but each case is a case. Thanks for the feedback =)
The NC is a good all-rounder bike. With decent on/off road tyres and protections it's a very solid option for dual sport. The thing about the NC is... it's a bike that will do everything, but doesn't really excell at anything, so don't expect to be climbing mountains with this bike.
Hi Jebu. Just want to correct you on something. This is an adventure bike, not dual sport. Dual sport is more like a Suzuki DRZ400, Yamaha XT660R etc. Looks more like off-road bike than road bike with the high mounted front mud guard
On my NX750X DCT 2016 the indicator switch is not exact buttery smooth either. Worse is the fact that Honda always switches this one with the horn. After more than two years this still feels unnatural. As does the position of the light switch, on top of the left cluster instead of behind: giving a signal can't be done without looking at it first. With the manual + gear switch the usual location for the signalling switch was occupied... A third issue with switches concerns the extra lights from the Adventure Pack. This switch is located deep within the fairing (behind the ignition key) and only gets illuminated when activated. The extra light are perfect though, as is the total lighting on this bike! The fuel tank should have been a bit bigger, my usual range is 360 km with an average fuel consumption of 1 liter per 27 km. The access to the tank is fine with me as I reduced my camping gear to fit in the top box, frunk and 10 liter Givi "tank bag". This setup also keeps the width limited. The seat is sloping too much forward but that was easily fixed. The stock wind shield is not bad, but the Puig aftermarket shield including an extra deflector works super for me (1.87 m tall). I can't stress enough the importance of reducing the noise of turbulance. All in all a very comfortable touring bike, also thanks to the DCT. This gearbox keeps you away of the rev limiter and works perfect, also in the Alps. It's a shame that the bike has gone up in price considerably.
Thanks I appreciate it. I feel the V-Strom is an outstanding bike, I like it very much, although the price really is a big deterrent when you have cheaper alternatives like the NC, Versys or even the Tracer
Hello I really liked the video thank you . I have a question I want to by a bike, it's my first one and I want it to stay the maximum possible of time I don't want to change every year and by a new one .So my question is how much time can this time resist ? and is it good for a beginner like me to buy this bike ? Thank you !
As far as longevity goes, this bike will last you a long time when compared to other bikes . Mainly due to the low RPM nature of the engine, it's built to last (there are NCs out there with over 150.000Km). It's also a very friendly beginner bike, it's very easy to ride, it feels very light, and it leans with little effort. But on the downside, it may feel less exciting/fun than other bikes, although as a first bike I think you will have alot of fun with it =) Thanks for watching and good luck with your new bike =D
I'm not a rider myself (not yet at least, I hope to eventually be though) but one of the nice features of this bike that makes it beginner friendly is the dual clutch transmission (DCT) option. Basically, the DCT on the NC is like an automatic transmission for a motorcycle, this means that you don't have to worry about shifting and you can focus on the road.
No disrespect to people who love this bike but to me it’s still a moped a great moped but a moped all the same ,I no it has paddle shift when in manual mode but part of the riding experience for me is changing gear and rev matching still agree those this is a great alrounder if you like this sort of thing personally I’m going for a 2017 650 vstrom xt this year or a 2016. with low mileage .you can save 1500 to 2000 on a low mileage model usually with sum upgrades already done hand guards heated grips top box aluminium belly pan etc
A feature or a bug...you must have a ICT related job ;) Complaining about the position if the fuelcap?? Really? So why did you buy it or was it a complete surprise after you bought it? It's like blaming a zebra for having stripes.
ahah I do indeed work in that area xD There's more to a motorcycle than just the fuelcap. I love the motorcycle as a whole, but that doesn't mean I don't find some characteristics inconvenient. Personally I find it absolutelly horrible having to unload/load strapped luggage everytime you need to refuel.
Yes you made that clear, but I mean: isn't that your own fault? If you don't have panniers and make longer trips with a lot of luggage, then it's no use complaining is it? Let me say it differently: if I don't buy a camshaft then you must not complain about the maintenance of the chain which you probably hate like I do.
I get your point. I agree with you to a degree. Being a review video, it serves, at the very least, to inform people that there may be an issue taking luggage in the backseat. I got to be honest and say that this wasn't really something I thought about when I got my bike (not that it would make a diference). Hopefully this video will make other people consider this issue, or opt for the side paniers like you said =)
so you find a perfect woman looks ....height ....smart...faithfull .....but you you dont like her because shes got green eyes .... and you hate green eyes... our friend here @dan moto found a bike that fit him 9/10 he knew about the fuelcap ofcourse but he said '' ill live with that'' you my friend are a typical asshole.
i have the 700 no abs , manual
im a mechanic
i can tell you this bike is built as an all around bike that fits many pockets...
meaning ...
it has just the mechanics that are needed to be reliable ergonomic and economic
hence the single front rotor, single exhaust
and the engine is mounted allmost horizontally not only for cog
its also mounted that way because it can be easily serviced....
japanese have had these in mind...
low cost
low maintainance
bulletproof engine 6500 rpm undersquared with lots of torque
high quality built
and as you pointed
not for showoff...
gets you anywhere allways
low profile....
15000km in 6months. You're more than qualified to review this bike than 99% of RUclipsrs.
I have 127,500K in 2 years and this is an awesome bike, Riding all over southeast Asia including a Trip to Mt Everest from Bangkok, Thailand

Mike FreeRider Gagne
That's pretty impressive 👍
I have mine since 2013 and now 80000km on the clock.
Absolutely love the bike and I am happy that you think it's awesome too.
A lot of people unfortunately don't seem to be able to really appreciate this bike and I don't understand why.
Safe rides and travels 👍🏍
Keep those K rolling and thanks , Living the Dream
Do you have the manual or the DCT version?
Hello Mike, 2 years on bike.. awesome! Did you head any problems with the engine or with the bike in general ?
@@Herzankerkreuz67 Most people in USA keep a bike 2 years or less and so are never satisfied with any bike. We live in the age of too much power so 2 cylinders + 50 bhp is a non-starter for most. But anyone that cares about low ownership cost and high MPG + trunk this is a great bike.
Turning lights shouldn't be activated by mistake. The split second you need to confirm the action ensures you don't activate by mistake.
Thanks mate for just sticking to the good and bad and really explaining it well. Most other bike reviews have so much useless ranting which can be irritating.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for the feedback =D
I have the 2016 Honda NC700X DCT & absolutely love it !! Technically has all the features yours has - 50cc in the Engine. What are you do to avoid scratching the consul is our use a hiker Style key chain & only have the key in the ignition with a small size stainless steel key ring. If you accidently swipe the turning light's switch and they turn on, you might not realize that they are on and that puts you in a dangerous position. I think this is the case with the intentional long press turning lights. Have I nice rides and be safe! :)
owners manual... trip A "auto reset" off/on... and by the way that is why you have trip B lol 😀
Thanks! xD should have remembered to check the manual first ahahaha
Also you can press left button once for Trip A and that's it. Of course off with autoreset 😁
Hello thx for the great rewiev i bought the nc750x and i cant say that i have the same problem with the turn signal. All in all its a very good bike (i am in love) cause its just such a good all-roud bike.
Exactly why I love the NC aswell. Thanks for commenting =D
Greetings from Holland, just bought it.. last week! thanks for the review, helpful. I drive with my wife on this bike.... we love this bike
Congratulations to you and your wife! Glad you liked the video =D
Dan Moto Adventures Thank you! The weather is great, we are going for a ride now with our NC750X!
@@NikdoAdventures how's the bike and the marriage?
Tim Zink
Hello Tim: To preface; I own a Harley, used to have a Honda, raced a Yamaha, and my brother has one of these (700cc automatic, US derivative).
PNH750 i
I appreciate your thoughtful look at the NC. Thank you for this video.
Glad you liked it =)
I agree, the CBR500RA looks awsome!
This is what I feel about the bike:
PRO
- Great bike for beginners and commuters
- Excellent fuel consumption, 3,5l / 100km
- Fantastic DCT auomatic transmission
- “Tank” storage area is very handy for urban riding
- Low purchase price
CONTRA
- Low quality seat: I can’t ride the bike for more than 200 km
- “Tank” storage area doesn’t hold a full face helmet.
Thank you for the excellent review! Nice to hear it from one who owns one.
The button for the indicators is made like that incase you catch the button by mistake, it needs a controlled push. Also if your having to do it that quickly you wont be giving other drivers enough reaction time, you should do these things methodically and safely.
Thanks for the review. Pretty sure this will be my next bike.
Did you get it? I cant decide between this and the cb500x
Thanks for watching, glad you liked it =)
Same here, I'm at 22000km and I need to change my chains aswell.
I guess so, that may explain the huge difference in wear. Thanks for the feedback!
Could just be that the roads in your area are rougher than his. This can cause tyres to wear faster.
It turns out that the same model can come with different tyres. The NC originally came with Dunlop tyres that lasted about 8000km. Honda replaced them with Bridgestone battle wing's which are the ones i'm using. My rear tyre lasted around 23000km.
Thanks for the information. I like this kind of review from actual owners, it is very useful
Thanks! Glad you liked it =)
Seems like a good review but why are all the people in the comments commenting on a small fuel tank??
Restrict them from going five over for extended periods of time.
great review, that's exactly what i was looking for. keep up the good work!
I agree about the key. I just use a single key for the motorcycle and put all the others in my pocket.
I think I'll have to adopt that system aswell haha. Thanks for the feedback =)
yip that the key to the problem =)
Same
Good review! I think with the blinkers they are designed like that so they don't activate in case they are accidentally bumped or knocked. But I do understand how that can be annoying when you want to make a quick lane change or something.
Thanks. That makes sense, but yeah it's still anoying when you're trying to be a "good driver" ahaha. Thanks for watching =)
So far I have no complaints about the suspension.
right, but as far as I know they put better suspension in front not rear and for me rear was the biggest problem. BTW only in bad road, though.
I agree with you about the front brakes. Honda should have put on twin rotors in front. Some times it just doesn’t slow down quick enough.
Hey my NC friend...
The Display and Trip Information Starts to flashing "000" when the Tank comes to the Reserve !!!
If you refill Petrol (Gas) and you Start the Bike all informations are Back !!!
Your Informations are Safe Till you Reset by self.
Thanks. I like still this bike but really you made the best review that i had sawed at the moment.
Glad you liked it, thanks for the feedback =)
Thanks for your Review! I own a NC 750 S DCT from 2016 and rode about 6500km so far. All in all I agree with your points, but it needs to be said, that this is complaining on a very high Level ;-)
Nice, glad you liked it. And yes, I was really picky with the flaws, despite that there is no other bike I would rather have at this moment
Nice review :)
About reaching the petrol reserve - are you sure all the numbers are resetting? I noticed that when I hit the reserve, the display goes zero and starts going up, probably so you know how much of the 2.9 L of the reserve you used, but after the refill everything goes back to normal, including the counters
Thanks! It turns out you can turn the reset on/off once it reaches the reserve. Mine was "on" so it reset everytime.
Oh, I had it by default, then - so how do you change it?
I don't think any of your complaints are valid or a problem
=´(
Great review. It's good that you mention the negatives as well. Just wondering about the transmission.
I don't remember hearing your opinion on it.
Thanks for pointing that out, I'll be making a 50,000Km review with the topics that I missed in this video.
Regarding the transmission, mine is the manual version. The low reving nature of the engine makes for very short/frequent gear changes, particulary going from 1 to 4. For new riders this isn't really a problem, but for experienced riders it takes a bit getting used to
I'll try to cover the transmission with more detail in a future video.
Thanks for the feedback =D
Useful video! How was the wind protection with the small screen? Also, are there panniers available for the bike?
Coming from a VFR800 6th Gen, I'm struggling with finding its character although it has many good things going for it namely, maintenance costs and fuel efficiency. Perhaps I should take it for a ride and get a real feel for it.
Excelente! Finalmente "a review" como deve ser.Obrigado
Great review, man! Really appreciate the honest feedback on the weaknesses as well as the many strengths. And thanks for doing it in English; your English is fantastic!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback =)
14 L x 28= 392 KM. Not bad. My motorscooters like the Burgman needed refueling after 200 km...and they needed 15L. So what is the problem?
Good review. Very helpful. Thanks
Do you think the plastic hatch lids will last several years ?
I hope so. I have no reason to believe they won't. However, that rubber band that seals the compartment, may not last that long from my experience
Really good review, nowadays Honda not good at motorcycle or cars . 14L tank really small but can but 20L petrol inside original tank place :)
ahaha tha'ts one way to solve the problem! xD Thanks for watching
this kind of bladder type reserve is perfect to fit in that compartment www.motoroids.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Motorcycle_Fuel_Bladder.jpg
and here's the designers of it : i.pinimg.com/736x/31/59/94/315994693619dfb9cd1f692fd13cd506--motorcycle-accessories-motorcycle-helmets.jpg
fk honda is damn stupid , just put the tank in front ,lol
That would raise the centre of gravity, the low C of G being a winning feature of this bike, not to mention the neat storage compartment in the dummy tank.
Great vid. Wonder if the indicator annoyance is a feature not a bug. To stop you indicating all the time if you touch by accident?
Thanks for watching! It's an interesting perspective, though I find it unlikelly that anyone would hit the indicator by accident since you really have to go out of your way to reach it.
Hi, Have you ride this bike off road? If yes, how rude was the conditions about it?
I've spent considerable time in offroad. Mainly in dirt and/or sand roads. You can check out the type of offroad in my other videos like: ruclips.net/video/tMn5Z0xc7-s/видео.html or ruclips.net/video/p8pb1ryCt-o/видео.html
The blinkers issue is intentional I guess. It's a type of hysteresis to avoid accidental activation I guess
I just checked the bag online, and it looks promissing =)
I liked the ADV, but if I had to choose between the ADV and the NC750x I would choose the NC.

STUPID CRF1000L SUSPENSION!!!!!!!!!!
How is the "heat" on this bike? Does it burn your leg in traffic?
Awesome vídeo! Thanks man! Are your engine Crash bars Givi TN1111s? do you recommend them?
Thanks. Yes they are. I definitely recomend the GIVI bars. They do their job well, plus I like the way it makes the motorcycle look bulkier.
You only need the ignition key in the ignition. Heavy sets of keys will destroy the ignition barrel.
You don't have enough breaking power on the front maybe because the bike uses 75%-25% ratio on front/back wheels. So in order to have all 100% breaking power on the front, you have to use also the full pedal and only in this combined way you will get all the brake force in the front.
Great review and the best I've seen yet! Does the bike have a fuel gauge or is it measured by the trip count?
Thanks. It does have a fuel gauge. Found this video on youtube that shows the display nicely, the gauge is on the lower right corner: ruclips.net/video/bNJ7kfirsBI/видео.html
That's amazing man thank-you, I've owned 8 bikes and none of them ever had a fuel gauge lol
I agree with you on the front brakes... Needs to have dual disc brakes imho too
Front brakes are just fine.
If you read the owners manual, you will learn that you can disable the autoreset of the odometers... not a bug
Thanks for sharing =)
Great review dude. Thanks.
I use only my motorcycle key when riding my bike, this way there is no issues with space, noise or damage to the motorcycle. Good day...
What about lower fairing?Does wind effects your knees and legs too much ?
Hey a nice review :) could you tell me where you got the givi crashbars? I can't find them for the 2016 model only for the previous models :/ btw have the same bike, same color etc ;)
Thanks =) I had them installed when I bought the bike from my local Honda stand. Maybe you should try asking in a Honda stand near you, or check out GIVI's acessories page: www.givi.co.uk/my-motorcycle#HONDA,NC750X_(16_>_17). I might be wrong, but I think the crashbars are the same for all NC models. Awsome choice! white NC's look so good! xD
Dan Moto Adventures thanks :) yeah white is great the bike looks like a killer whale, which is the nickname for my bike ;) greetings from Germany
So if I buy one and fit my Givi Top Box, I will have to take if off to fill the tank? Is this correct?
No. The top box does not interfere with the fuel cap. The things that occupy the passenger seat are the ones that you need to take off before refuelling, because the fuel cap is underneath the seat. So if you take a dufflebag strapped in the back seat, for example, you will need to unstrap it before refuelling
Mine's a dct and only does 105mph max slightly downhill is that normal?
Many thanks. And thanks for the excellent video!
good review and good suggestion on the fuel cap position. Hope HONDA would listen(probably BMW got the pattern)
Thanks! I agree, the BMW style caps would be much more pratical.
great bike love it but needs a bigger tank and more rev range .oh and a softer seat after 300 miles you think a footballer has kick ya in the butt!!!
I agree on the larger tank. Regarding the seat, I made up to 800Km in one day and didn't find it lacking, but each case is a case. Thanks for the feedback =)
Very nice review. How tall are you?
Great honest video. It’s helped me a lot. Thanks
Hi Dan how solid is this bike? I am planning to get one dual sport motorcycle, can this NC-750x do fit in
The NC is a good all-rounder bike. With decent on/off road tyres and protections it's a very solid option for dual sport. The thing about the NC is... it's a bike that will do everything, but doesn't really excell at anything, so don't expect to be climbing mountains with this bike.
Dan Moto Adventures thanks 🙏 buddy
Hi Jebu. Just want to correct you on something. This is an adventure bike, not dual sport. Dual sport is more like a Suzuki DRZ400, Yamaha XT660R etc. Looks more like off-road bike than road bike with the high mounted front mud guard
Excellent review, Thanks!
For USA : 186.41 miles to his range ..
What year is it? Nice color
Why put a single disk brake on the front for a bike used often for touring?
Good review.
You need more subs for sure.
Im still kind of interessted in the new V-strom 650 for 2017.
I think i could give more bike for the price.
Thanks I appreciate it. I feel the V-Strom is an outstanding bike, I like it very much, although the price really is a big deterrent when you have cheaper alternatives like the NC, Versys or even the Tracer
Dan Moto Adventures
Thank you so much I will work hard to get this one !
Fuel tank doesnt need to be bigger, if you can ride 300+ km without a piss or a break your nuts. I'm sure you stop all the time for a coffee.
Thanks for the video mate :D
Thanks for watching! =D
My pleasure!I actually watched most of your vids :D What an amazing bike..
@10:41 " Look at this... it does nothing... phuck!" HAHAHAHA
Nice review!
A feature or a bug...you must have a ICT related job ;)
Complaining about the position if the fuelcap?? Really? So why did you buy it or was it a complete surprise after you bought it? It's like blaming a zebra for having stripes.
ahah I do indeed work in that area xD
There's more to a motorcycle than just the fuelcap.
Hopefully this video will make other people consider this issue, or opt for the side paniers like you said =)
I agree with you on the fuel cap location. I'm coming from a 650GS and having the cap on the side was VERY convenient.
so you find a perfect woman
looks ....height ....smart...faithfull .....but you you dont like her because shes got green eyes .... and you hate green eyes...

I've always wondered why Honda puts small tanks on their bikes. That's the only reason I don't go with honda.
the nc 750 ain''t for very very long rides.hence small tank.cuz ya bum wud suffer about 150 miles trips.
Thank you man, this review want to see about your bike,if after you use it worth the money.

Why don’t you use trip B for your journey
