I bought my NC for my retirement present, added taller screen, scottoiler and hard luggage, now I am going touring. It’s the only bike I have bought with my head not my heart, and it has grown on me. I love it
I’m not a bike guy but I need to commute and I want to tour. Heart is fickle and wants to run off to join the circus (that’s how I ended up in the army as a silly kid), done listening to that. Got a decent head though so it’ll be this or the CB500X. Because it’s not about the bike but the adventures it’ll take you on.
You pretty much hit the nail on the head, I'm reviewing bikes Now and The NT750x Just keeps standing Out as What I Need To Do The Things I Have In mind,
The more you ride this bike the more you like it and appreciate it. It’s that simple. Took me 5k miles to get used to mine but now I wouldn’t trade it for anything else! Does everything well, I get over 80mpg from mine, utterly reliable, the frunk is great. Doesn’t do 150mph but personally I don’t want to….
I've had mine for 12 years now. I've taken it to North America, North Africa, throughout Europe to many time to count and I can verify that this bike is bomb proof, and will never let you down. It a great bike and I can't see why anyone would say anything negative about it. I'm looking for a new bike now and I'm anxious that I would never find another bike like this one. Still rides like new but I've out grown it now. If you're thinking about this bike you're not going.g to be disappointed, it will tour, it will do the shopping and take your better half along with you is comfort. I have zero regrets on this purchase.
The bike was designed as a commuter and does it perfectly Great reliability, superb mileage and the false tank is so practical Many riders all over the world have put hundreds of thousands on miles on these When l was a bike instructor we had one in our fleet..superb motorcycle for real world riding Stay safe.. keep the videos coming.
Living in NYC, this is a great bike. I don't have to worry about shifting and can focus on avoiding the many distractions (taxis, pedestrians, bicycles, scooters, etc.) Plus, keeping my helmet in the storage space keeps me from carrying it around all day. I don't care who likes it or not, this is a perfect city commuter (which is what I need). I don't miss traditional shifting at all.
People who hate the NC750X haven’t spent enough time riding one or are only weekend warriors who do a few poseur cafe rides on sunny Sundays. As a bike to absolutely do the job all the time with no dramas it’s very hard to beat. If you want to thrash it you can! Sports bikes can’t keep up with me commuting through London and definitely are no good for a weekend away camping with my lady!
Funny you should mention "winter bike" as that's exactly why I bought my NC750 (S version) so that I didn't have to take my recently purchased new Triumph Street Twin out in the rain. Within a week or so the Triumph sat in the workshop virtually unused. My real world experience could be summed up as... Going to work... Honda. Going shopping... Honda Sunday round the lanes... Honda Longer ride... Honda Bike meet... Triumph. Sad reflection on my personality perhaps but just what I found myself doing. That engine is a work of genius. Loads of useable low down torque and gives amazing fuel economy. As mentioned the practicality of the "frunk" meaning you don't have to carry you helmet around the shops and can pick up a bit of shopping is something you may not think is much of a deal until you ride the bike in real world situations for a while. Also. The bike may not be a sports bike but it's no slouch either. It easily tops the ton and then some. But... And isn't there always a but. I found my S version didn't handle particularly well and I didn't have the confidence, especially in cornering, that I do on other bikes. Ultimately, that kinda' killed it for me which was a shame. (The X version may well be better for all I know). Another pro or maybe con, is that nobody takes any notice of you, be that the police or pretty anyone at your local bike meet. You are completely inconspicuous. (apart from to other NC owners of course). In conclusion. Although I'd say it isn't "boring", neither is it "exciting" in the way the (cheaper) Honda Hornet is. Realistically it's pretty much everything you could need. Maybe it just depends on how "naughty" you want to be compared to "sensible". At least Honda give you the choice as both are great bikes.
If it has 2 wheels and improves the mood, any bike will do, reminds me of my NTV650 which was my all year round commuter bike, functional and bullet proof. (14 years of reliable transport)
Perfect home servicing enthusiasts bike too. Canted engine gives you access to the head (after a simple radiator removal) for access to the screw & locknut valve clearance adjustment.
@@TAYM 🤣 That Super Meteor looks a million $$$, a polished performer in its own way. I suspect many of them will be a summer bike doing shorter rides. No harm there of course, each to his own. It is hard to get rides on bikes here in Ireland, a lot of dealers don't offer demo bikes either so I am fairly restricted. I did get my hands on an Aprilia Tuareg for a week though, what a bike, another bike I would happily own. I'll have something up on that later. 👍
Bought mine new, 18 months ago, after a lay off of nearly 18 years. Looked for bike with a new biker mindset. I absolutely love it. It might not be the most powerful, but bags of torque means it go off the line like stink. Had a Thundercat b4 and that bike and this are easily the most comfortable and easiest to ride. You can be boring on it, but you can have bags of fun as well.
A bike that has I've never really thought about , the new Deauville I suppose, taking its place as an ultra sensible all round middleweight commuter / tourer bike.. People hated that too but it was a brilliant bike for what it was designed for.
@@TAYM I had one for the day when i was having my Hornet 900 serviced. My Mrs immediately christened it "The Bus" ! ...i thought it was the perfect name
Since buying my NC750X new in 2014 with the Adventure Pack fitted I have also bought and sold a BMW R1250GS and a Royal Enfield Himalayan, but the NC750X is a keeper. It is just too good to sell even though I have recently also bought a BSA Gold Star Legacy.
Excellent, it’s great when you find a bike that is reliable and just right for your needs 😁 and I am sure the BSA will look after your metal health 😁 thanks RH 😁
Well you know my opinion on the NC, it is a wonderful bike that I like to call the Swiss Army knife of bikes. The frunk is one of those brilliant functions that is just inspired. 👍👍👍
I've had two NC's - both where the now discontinued "S" model which had a lower seat height. My first was a DCT, the second was a manual. Excellent bikes and very underrated. Relatively low revving (the engine was derived from the Honda Jaz). Very economical and well built. The forward-canted cylinders gave it a low C of G and it handled really well. My 2014 model was a bit harsh on suspension but they've improved year-on-year. The latest version of the X has a 30mm lower seat, perfect for us shorties. Showa non-adjustable forks with "Dual Bending Valve" cartridge which is an improvement over the older version. The horn position takes a bit of getting used to. I've "indicated" my displeasure to poor driving a number of times and conversely, "sounded" my intention to turn quite a bit 😂🤣
I owned one for a couple of years. Once you change the seat and the screen it becomes a comfortable, practical commuter or tourer for all year biking. Frunk is so useful and it's okay with a pillion. As an everyday bike they are hard to beat but it never excited me like my T100 does.
I used to love opening the throttle wide from a standing start. The DCT version changes gear in 1/5sec and it is very reliable. Ridden gently very economical and good fun to push on with the low down weight.
Thanks for the review TAME, I am just back to motorcycling after many years away and bought an NC750X. Brilliant bike and helping me build my confidence. Anything on the naughty boy range may well have got me into trouble in all sorts of ways. Keep up the great channel.
Had a shortish ride on my mates NC last year. Gotta say it completely changed my view on the bike. My biggest dislike was its engine, a twin. How wrong I was. My mate does a couple of Euro trips a year and that year he took the NC two up on both. Performed faultlessly. Still not a fan of the front end but that wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. But what a lovely motorcycle to ride. I’m an old fart now, so the NC would suite me perfect; twill do anything the wife and I ask of it. Very fair and balanced short review Mr Taym; as always a very professional vide, a pleasure to watch and listen to. Thanx Mr Taym, ride safe man. Neil aka Mr Grizzly.
Nice one TAYM, the people who call this bike boring are the throttle jockey's who aren't happy unless they have 150 BHP underneath them, the people who actually own them love em, great all-round bike that does everything...
I have the 2023 DCT version……after 42 years of not riding…..love it, does what I want and more….and it’s my bike, my choice and I love it, simple as that…I’ll love all bikes and each to their own, we are all brothers and sisters here…let’s just enjoy and stay safe and hope that we can all ride the roads for a good while yet…
The best bike I've owned. It's a great all-rounder, and I personally think it looks good too. I've added some accessories, with the best ones being the handguards as they effectively reduce buffeting. It offers great value for the money. Great video!
Arthritis means I had to get the DCT version of this and to be honest I cannot see anything else that would replace it. Tours, scratches - absolute hoot. Put a Fuel exhaust on mine and modded the screen with Palmer brackets. Front suspension is not so good so mine is going to MCT for some tender care this month. Ride it in User defined mode so it changes gear how I want it to and does really nice blips when it is downshifting. It also turns in 70+mpg no matter how I ride it.
Pulled up at the services on a ride from Carlisle to Shropshire. Didn't really need to go in for a brew. I was people watching, opened the frunk for something to do and found a kitkat. Best treat ever. 🤣🤣
Nice review Mr TAYM; If your only method of transport is a bike and can only afford one bike this is a great option, I've always liked them. Ride safe and take care.
I went to my local bike dealer yesterday to get oil for the service on my F650 GS and he had one in stock, DCT version. What amazed me was i could touch both feet down on it and im a short arse, 800mm seat height is great. The other thing was even though it is about 30kg heavier than my bike it was so easy to lift off the stand, all the weight is so low down. Got me thinking now, haha. From comments i have read about this bike, the biggest moan is no cruise control which is never needed anyway.
I have mine up for sale as I fell foul of the silly bad press, I bought a 2015 tracer 900 and regretted it almost immediately. I am considering swapping back. You can have as much fun on the NC when the revs are up and it is much more relaxing and refined cruising on the motorway. Around town and in traffic the "fun" runs out on the Tracer.
You summed this bike up in three words TAYM "It's absolutely fine" what's it like to ride ? fine, what's it like as a commuter? fine, what's it like for running costs? fine, what's it like for distances? fine, What's its performance like? fine. It is the absolute do-it-all bike but I could never fall in love with it it. If you just want a no nonsense bike that will do a bit of everything for you there simply is no better bike on the planet but you wouldn't choose a partner based on the fact she/he was "fine" or would you ? I dunno maybe we should 🤣🤣🤣
I think I’d love the frunk! I don’t care for the “appearance” of the bike but it’s got it going on in every other aspect. I don’t mind a simple dash at all. If I had one I think I’d love it so much I’d forget about looks because 750cc gives plenty of go. 👍
Had mine since Nov last year and love it.. After over a decade of Honda ruling the DCT market , I hear Yamaha and BMW are bringing out their versions !
Easy 70mpg, it'll tour all day , 450 miles Ipswich to Fife and back the next day , decent tank range , seats a bit hard, it won't blow your socks off but a good solid bike .
I last rode the NC around 8 or 9 years ago. At the time i thought it was the most dull, boring bike i've ever rode. I was so unimpressed with it, i cant even remember if it was the 700 or 750 version. Well i test rode this new one this morning and was surprised by how much i liked it. Its either hugely better than the old models or my bike tastes have changed a lot. It deffo isn't short on power, the low down torque is great and it sounds great too. Not sure i'm sold on DCT, but it worked well. Gonna try and get a test ride on a manual one if i can.
Yes, very surprising motorcycle 😁 I have never ridden one before this so had nothing to compare it to other than what others had said. I found it to be a very nice bike to ride. 😁 thanks MJ 😁
The NC750X was very close to the DR650 in the short list of next bikes. It's probably about the perfect bike for most of my uses and I may have loved it more if I got it. The reason I chose the DR650 was I wanted a bike with more character after riding the FZ6 for so long. My son finally understood after riding the FZ6 through traffic the other day. A guy on one of the DR650 owners page said the DR650 is the first bike he's had that has as much character as his old Moto Guzzi Eldorado 😅. Simplicity of maintenance and off road capability just sealed the deal. The NC750X is still high on the list for a future bike!
Thanks DK 😁 the DR certainly has bags of character 😁 and weirdly, so does the Vstrom 😁 and that achieves everything (bar the frunk/bonk) that the NC does 😁
I'd absolutely love a brand new Dr650. Unfortunately hasn't been available in UK for about 15 years ( maybe more). Saw an almost new one (3k miles) on eBay which had been imported from Florida. I was very tempted but the seller wanted £11K. I can understand that figure with import taxes etc and a bit of profit but it would be insanity to pay that. Shame.
Ironically, DR650 is my first bike and i'm looking to move into a Street Triple, NC750xDCT, or Tiger Sport 660. 37k miles of dead-nuts-reliable commuting on the DR..but nothing lasts forever, hence my quandary.
I think that the bike is fine.. I have been on Transalp for many years back in the day and the bike had similar feeling.. A bit dull but very comfortable and functional.. Rain? You just don't care, start the bike and go.
A very fair review of the bike TAYM. Possibly reviewers of the bike are other YT content providers and ride big 4s or the lixe of the Triumph Rocket etc. To go from one of them to the NC750X might to them seem boring but for most people owning only one bike this covers many functions. There's a small dealer near me with a naked 2014 model, advertised as only having 1346 on the clock. Worth a look at I think.
@@simonchilli2088 😂😂😂 I have done one solo and one two up with Mrs TAYM. She wants one.😂😂 if she’d had her way we would have bought it there and then 😂😂😂
Great bike TAYM 👍 I’ve had 2 and my current one same colour as your test bike, does exactly what it says on the trim, very different to my GT Continental and that’s a good thing 👍, pleased to see you seem to have enjoyed it.
A lot of people say it’s an old man’s bike but the ainsworth rider had one he never had any trouble with his seems a reliable bike from Honda but not my cuppa tea 😋
No doubt a practical bike for someone commuting regularly, a bike which fills a purpose pretty well but doesn't Excell on any level. I almost bought one when I returned to riding but upon research was blighted by less than enthusiastic reviews. I opted instead for the Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport, more style, more comfort, better brakes/ suspension and a good deal more pep. Those who owned the Tiger have been hoping for an upgrade, which sadly seems as though it'll never come.
I don't know of any negativity. Of course not my thing anyway. You could line up all those type of motorcycles and I wouldn't know one from the other 😅. Another trustworthy review. Good work as usual 😊
Looks like a good commuter bike. I'm glad you decided to review it, I kind of wish my T120 had that storage capacity onboard. Not the most exciting bike, but not the dullest either, kind of middle-of-the-road in my opinion. Of course my opinion might change if I ever rode one. 😁😁
Morning Mr TAYM, a day late, sorry about that. This bike has a place, good reliable long distance touring, no doubt comfortable enough to get there without feeling knackered.
Apart from the obvious storage capacity is it better than the cheaper CB500X also by Honda?!…I know which one I’d rather have for straight up commuting 👍….great vid pal 👌
I've tried one a couple of times. It won't compete with my KTM for sure but not everybody wants 'on the edge' riding. | found them really pleasant to ride though if economy and no drama are important to you.
I think you hit on a very good point there, its the potential drama that is missing from this bike but it is an important ingredient of the pleasure we get from riding. I don’t think it takes anything from it as a mode of transport and it is better than 4 wheels🤔 Thanks S 😊
Hello Mr TAYM,since I found you on You Tube Land I wondered if you had done a review on the Honda NC750X. I checked your review back catalogue & surprise surprise you had😊 I have owned a 2017 DCT model for three + years now & it’s a do it all machine. The DCT version really makes sense as it’s a total breeze to ride & I can’t understand why anyone would buy a manual version as due to the low revving engine it constantly hits the rev limiter as you shuffle through the box. I’d be very interested in your thoughts if you eventually test ride a DCT version. Great video as usual 👍
I think it looks pretty decent TAYM, will go on for years, chuck some luggage on and tour the world, obviously the fly liked it enough to hop on board for the ride.
Great vid. After many vlog watching I bought 21 dct. Kept it 3 months. The frunk is brilliant. The rear filler a nightmare waiting to happen if cable stretches or breaks. Economical 75+mpg. Suspension awful. Performance no problem despite 58bhp, its torque helps this. Screen noise awful, suspension rubbish. Dct no thanks. Mine had plenty of corrosion, the swing arm was like box steel. I didn’t own from new so maybe was neglected but was setting in alright. Seat 100 miles was in pain. I sold it after 3 months being not prepared to absorb its niggles. Now got V strom 650 and imo night and day better. Suspension superb on rough, engine perkier and smoother, finish better and diy on par. User feeling, much prefer vstrom its a keeper but honda maybe better looking. I wonder if they put hornet engine in this. Mossey a well known bike tester ran one for a year and changed the suspension and raved over it. When I rode mine to wales was a bucking bronco. Tried adjusting rear suspension (front not adjustable) it seemed to me front/rear out of synch. My 21 yr old VFR had no corrosion at all. Put me completely off it. Nice riding position
@@TAYM sounded a bit negative Taym soz. When I got the bike I loved it and fell out with it. When I got it out to ride I couldn’t let go the negatives mainly the suspension. The DCT is heavier maybe the problem. But watching yr nt1100dct says it all. You gotta ride what makes you feel special. I’d love a T100 as another bike, yours is beautiful. When I am out on the strom, and where I ride the roads are rough, it is so supple and planted. I think the strom is quite unremarkable looking but when on it razzing around I am made up.
If I wanted a bike to ride long distances and my main purpose for travelling was sightseeing , then this bike would be ideal and a sensible choice . Long stroke , low revving torquey engine . I've heard of them doing in excess of 80 mpg , and servicing is relatively easy , valves especially so . However the styling is so , erhmm , characterless , bland and sort of , oh I don't know, Honda-ish that it puts me right off. Dogwise , it would be a Pointer .
Mr.Taym. I've noticed a couple of times that you've pulled up at Ling's that there's been a CRF300L sitting in front of you. If it's a demonstrator how about a test ride? It would make the perfect winter bike. I've never heard you mention a love for trail bikes or off roaders, perhaps it's time to try one. 😊
i nearly bought a new 2023 one of these, i had my heart set on one, BUT you need to fill the fuel tank from under the pillion seat, due to me loading up my bikes for camping (all have top box and panniers fitted) , i still need to load up the pillion seat as well..beautiful bike but unloading to refuel killed it for me 😢 brill review 👍😁
I bought a second hand rear seat off eBay & cut a D slot in it so can refuel with roll bag on seat - you can also get a alloy plate instead if you don't take pillion !!
Just re watched this video again, so enjoyable…..pity it’s like a fridge in Jersey, where I live…but come warmer weather I’ll be out on it…yeah the indicators switch is a bit silly….I forget where the horn is…I have engine bars, feet wind deflectors, fender extender, rear hugger, centre stand, hand wind deflectors …. I have a trickle battery connected….for me the one thing I really dislike are the awful screw, bolt…whatever they might be things that attach the battery cover, two of my fittings just broke…..a bush fix, some Velcro around the edge, way better than original awful fittings….I had a bad motorbike accident some 43 years ago, drunk driver almost ended me….did destroy my Yamaha RD250LC…now that was a loon bike….I really enjoy the DCT, saves my weak left wrist…..the modes are great, rain mode is best for slow town riding and of course in the rain, standard mode is fine for just pootling along……user mode, well I just played around with that…to me bit pointless….but sports mode…yep this bike loves that….you have to drop throttle right back to zero when changing riding modes while on the go, I would say the wind protection is fine, way better than the bikes from way back when I first rode, breaks are fine, tyres great…..I would say it takes a little practice to get used to DCT, but if you drive an auto car, it comes very easy, super bike, just does everything, if I was being picky, maybe a cruise control, maybe twin discs and maybe shaft drive, but of course this adds weight……will I change my bike……not a chance, it is perfect for me and makes me both smile as I did age 19 on my LC……fair weather rider, damn right I am……..sun not too far away I hope….cheers all
Hiya Taym, good review with well balanced opinions, can`t be all bad. In fact "Bad" is not a word you could throw at this model of bike, anywhwere......it has its quirks like any other bike but no-where is it bad. Lots of comments about the looks being bland, but looks are subjective and anyway if you were after a mid sized mile muncher where would you go, they all look virtually the same, it`s a trend. They said the same about the front of the Hornet, have you seen the competition, they all look the same, transformer like or insect like, its the trend, most are nowadays, like it or leave it. The performance is spot on nearly 60 bhp-goes 120 mph "where in the Uk". would that not be enough bike. I mean my car does 117 mph apparently, though I`ve never taken it above Motorway limits - if that NT was mine it would be ridden the same. We don`t all hanker to be up at the red line all the time, or never if I`m riding, must be an age thing😲🤕👻 life`s too precious to me now!
Hi TAYM personally I like a bike that makes you look back at it when you get off it and as good as this bike is it doesn’t do that for me so I’m out 🤪 carry on that man Caio for now tat ta 👍🏻
Good review m8. I guess if it was a horse it'd be some sort of a draft horse. Not a head turner but dependable, reliable and gets the job done. Only issue, i guess if you had it with panniers and gear strapped to the across the rear seat it might be a pain trying to fuel up.
Hi. I've got mine S versión with side panniers and I use a back seat bag tied under the back sit. When I refuel, I tilt the back seat carefully, with the bag tied firmly, then refuel and put the back seat in its place to continue the trip. It works fine.
Yuh know what TAYM on a looks front I prefer this to the cluttered look of the BMW GS 1250 I see nothin wrong with it under seat tank maybe a bit of a faff but looks to go ok probably to tall for me and probably Dave as well but it ok .I wouldn't want the DCT though but apart from that why not the Hornet is cheaper though so I would go that way instead .Yes Nuttall's Minto/ Werther's Original good all rounder I reckon 😉👌👍
@@TAYM Interesting and I guess not surprising since I did feel that you were quite subdued on the Hornet .Since you have ridden both I have to wonder why that is the case , I am curious to ride the Hornet Ian Hughes really liked it hmmm 🤔😁
In grey?? It's blue but never mind. I have a 2021 DCT after trying the manual and hitting the rev limiter too easily. Done 8,000 and added boxes and a multitude of extras. Biggest change was getting rid of the awful Dunlop tyres and fitting perfect Metzeler's.
Great review.. Shame that RUclips have downgraded the 1080p video quality to junk unless the viewer pays for premium :-( I hope you RUclips content producers are pushing back about this?
Thanks S69 😁 it does seem completely random as to what they choose to do. Some get 4K whilst others 720p 😕 it is annoying. (However on checking this video was only recorded in 2.7k though RUclips normally upscale in time) thanks I shall certainly try 😁
I bought the new 2021 model and got rid of it the following year. Horn button and indicator switches are oposite to any other bike I've ridden which I found difficult to get used to. Sounding the horn when trying to indicate on a roundabout generates some puzzled and annoyed looks. Sliding caliper, front brake is just not good enough and even Honda's little 500 adventure bikes now have twin discs. Front suspension too soft and soggy and the rear suspendion too hard. Rear of the drivers seat is too thin and is very painful after 100 miles or so so. Always on front indicators are just daft. Fuel tank filler neck placement mean the pillion sadle has to be lifted to fuel up. ( BMWs with under seat tanks have the filler on the side which is much more practical.) I can add that filling with fuel is tricky as there is no light under there and the tank base is too close which will throw the fuel up out of the tank if the pressure is not carefully controlled - so go easy on the trigger finger. Front screen generates awful noise and buffetting. Front mudguard too short to keep muck off the engine or my boots. Same with the back and I fitted a hugger. A soulless engine and a tedious, uncomfortable ride for anything over 50 miles or so.
Well, it is a motorbike and that is a good thing because a motorbike is cheaper than a psychiatrist. And, its a Honda! I think that it might taste like a supermarket chocolate mousse. A windy old day in Suffolk. Do the Triumphs talk to the Hondas, or are they a bit stand-offish? 😁Another fun video 👍👍
Trident Tiger 🐅 660 I prefer over this & that triple 660 engine is marvelous. I have know trouble keeping up with the Harley boy's on my Trident 🔱 & when use Quick Shifter faster once out of 1st gear.
@@TAYM That frunk is marvelous idea 💡 get a 2liter milk, loaf of bread 🍞 & the all important fish and chips.Frunk doesn't look ugly like those top boxes either.
honda's indicator switch placement is good for me, my gloves are not that stretchy and my thumb has to move less to reach it. Granted here we seldom ever use the horn.
I have stumble on nc750x review by dude using the dct 1st gen version for touring for 6 years.. 230000 km (140k miles) on the clock, no engine repairs.
I bet it's a very practical bike with the fuel being so low this will also give low Centre of Gravity, BUT.......I want my fuel tank to be a tank. Apart from that a great bike
@@favoriteblueshirt yes but I.m not worried. I just want to see the train. I was train driver for 52yr. The only danger at railway crossings is the public. 😄
Drove the DCT version the other day, can't say i hate it but i see no reason one should buy it other than the frunk. In fact the DCT is not so good at very low speeds IMO,in scenarios like inner city traffic, very close mountain roads etc. The seat also was not so good, for me at least, but i do have to shed weight.
@@TAYM In my opinion unless fuel economy and day to day grinding practicality is an absolute criterion one is much better off with a strom 650. You get better performance and an overall much better allrounder which is equally reliable. And it is cheaper too.
I get that it's a capable, reliable bike that does everything you need but what the naysayers say about "boring", makes me wonder. Can you spank it? Can you chuck it round corners? In short, can you be naughty on it if the mood takes you? You probably wouldn't outrun the rozzers on a 750cc but would you ever need to? To me, its sour cherry. You like it, a bit moreish but you're not sure why.😊
Well I think you can be naughty on any bike (least I seem to be able) 😂😂 but it’s not a bike that leads you to be naughty🤔 though it might do😁 could also be a sour cherry 😁😂😂 thanks Lily 😁
I think its a good daily rider, but the fuel cap under the seat would be a major PITA on tour, It wouldnt taste like a travel sweet though, It'd be Marmite! 😂😂

Thanks TG 😁 with the road conditions, speed limits and traffic, top speed is immaterial 😁
The bike was designed as a commuter and does it perfectly
Great reliability, superb mileage and the false tank is so practical

Living in NYC, this is a great bike. I don't have to worry about shifting and can focus on avoiding the many distractions (taxis, pedestrians, bicycles, scooters, etc.) Plus, keeping my helmet in the storage space keeps me from carrying it around all day. I don't care who likes it or not, this is a perfect city commuter (which is what I need). I don't miss traditional shifting at all.
Excellent 😁 I loved it 😁 thanks JS 😁
People who hate the NC750X haven’t spent enough time riding one or are only weekend warriors who do a few poseur cafe rides on sunny Sundays.
As a bike to absolutely do the job all the time with no dramas it’s very hard to beat. If you want to thrash it you can! Sports bikes can’t keep up with me commuting through London and definitely are no good for a weekend away camping with my lady!
Absolutely 😁 thanks PW 😁
Funny you should mention "winter bike" as that's exactly why I bought my NC750 (S version) so that I didn't have to take my recently purchased new Triumph Street Twin out in the rain. Within a week or so the Triumph sat in the workshop virtually unused.
My real world experience could be summed up as...
Going to work... Honda.
Going shopping... Honda
Sunday round the lanes... Honda
Longer ride... Honda
Bike meet...
What a marvellous comment 😁 thank you for taking the time to tell us your experience of the NC 😁 thanks CD 😁
Handling was great once I replaced the stock tyres with Road 5
If it has 2 wheels and improves the mood, any bike will do, reminds me of my NTV650 which was my all year round commuter bike, functional and bullet proof. (14 years of reliable transport)
Absolutely 😁 thanks S😁

Thanks SB 😁 it could never compete with a T100 😁 especially a gold line 😁
I used to love opening the throttle wide from a standing start. The DCT version changes gear in 1/5sec and it is very reliable. Ridden gently very economical and good fun to push on with the low down weight.

Sounds marvellous 😁 thanks GF 😁

@@utbelegs two very exciting bikes and one that would that might have a hope of filling the very big boot of the DR 😁 can you guess which is which 😁

A very fair review of the bike TAYM. Possibly reviewers of the bike are other YT content providers and ride big 4s or the lixe of the Triumph Rocket etc. To go from one of them to the NC750X might to them seem boring but for most people owning only one bike this covers many functions. No doubt a practical bike for someone commuting regularly, a bike which fills a purpose pretty well but doesn't Excell on any level. I almost bought one when I returned to riding but upon research was blighted by less than enthusiastic reviews.

I know exactly what you mean 😁
Good review m8. I guess if it was a horse it'd be some sort of a draft horse. Not a head turner but dependable, reliable and gets the job done. Only issue, i guess if you had it with panniers and gear strapped to the across the rear seat it might be a pain trying to fuel up.
Thanks IT 😁 very good point😁 I was also concerned about spillage 😁
It's a Side panniers & back pack bike or a rack so you have access to tank.
Good point . I probably pack too much because I throw a bag behind me as well 😁😆😅🤣😂
Hi. I've got mine S versión with side panniers and I use a back seat bag tied under the back sit. When I refuel, I tilt the back seat carefully, with the bag tied firmly, then refuel and put the back seat in its place to continue the trip. It works fine.
The blanking plate is for the optional spotlights
Thanks KF 😁
Very nice review! Even flies want to take a ride and be protected.
😂😂😂😂 thanks LoY 😁
A valuable review. Thanks.

Thanks Crumb 😁 I realise this is controversial but, I prefer this to the hornet 😂😂😂😂
@@TAYM Interesting and I guess not surprising since I did feel that you were quite subdued on the Hornet .Since you have ridden both I have to wonder why that is the case , I am curious to ride the Hornet Ian Hughes really liked it hmmm 🤔😁
@@crumblymal8479 yes but @ianhughes is a very naughty boy 😂😂😂
In grey?? It's blue but never mind. I have a 2021 DCT after trying the manual and hitting the rev limiter too easily. Done 8,000 and added boxes and a multitude of extras. Biggest change was getting rid of the awful Dunlop tyres and fitting perfect Metzeler's.
😂😂😂 thanks KF 😁 I really liked this bike 😁
Great review.. Shame that RUclips have downgraded the 1080p video quality to junk unless the viewer pays for premium :-( I hope you RUclips content producers are pushing back about this?
Thanks S69 😁 it does seem completely random as to what they choose to do. Some get 4K whilst others 720p 😕 it is annoying. (However on checking this video was only recorded in 2.7k though RUclips normally upscale in time) thanks I shall certainly try 😁
Thank gawd for closed captioning. I didn't know he was speaking English until I'd paused and turned on the captions.
😂😂😂 marvellous 😁 thanks for sticking with it HJ 😁
I had a 21 DCT plate for 3 months and sold it. Your points are valid. I now have vstrom650 night and day better in every way. Honda diy very easy.
Very interesting 🤔 a balanced and thoughtful comment 😁 thanks DT 😁
Of course😁 it’s a Vstrom 😁
@brockett But apart from that you loved it right?😂😂😂😂

Well, it is a motorbike and that is a good thing because a motorbike is cheaper than a psychiatrist. And, its a Honda! I think that it might taste like a supermarket chocolate mousse. A windy old day in Suffolk. Do the Triumphs talk to the Hondas, or are they a bit stand-offish? 😁Another fun video 👍👍

honda's indicator switch placement is good for me, my gloves are not that stretchy and my thumb has to move less to reach it. Granted here we seldom ever use the horn.

Nothing too controversial there then, TAYM with that bike. Perhaps that's what makes it controversial though... 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 thanks LE 😁
I bet it's a very practical bike with the fuel being so low this will also give low Centre of Gravity, BUT.......I want my fuel tank to be a tank. Apart from that a great bike
Thanks WM 😁 not a strom though😁
I had a test ride and really liked it, except I found the seating position very cramped.
Interesting 🤔 was it the seat to pegs do you think? 😁 thanks ST😁
Always disappointed the railway barriers are up. Like seeing a train. 😢
😂😂😂
If the barriers are up, when you ride through do you look down the line to see if a train is coming your way? I ask as I do? Can't help it.
@@favoriteblueshirt yes but I.m not worried. I just want to see the train. I was train driver for 52yr. The only danger at railway crossings is the public. 😄

Sorry, but I’ve spent my life in construction. When road works come up, I give them a wide margin. Common courtesy.
Thanks P 😁 yes, the DCT is a funny thing which I am assured if you get used to it is marvellous 🤔 but my findings were similar to your own 😁
@@TAYM In my opinion unless fuel economy and day to day grinding practicality is an absolute criterion one is much better off with a strom 650.
