Well I came to this video late but I like your content. I own a 2024 NC 750 X DCT and love it. At 65 and a broken down war horse it has extended my riding life . Ride your ride and be safe.
Good review! After being off a bike for 33 years, my first bike was a 2012 NC700X DCT, the first year they came out with it. Did not like it at first, was grossly underpowered at highway speeds and wasn’t crazy about the DCT. But as I came to learn the DCT, and the bike as well, it became a great little in-town bike. That center cubby hole is very functional and can hold lots of groceries. In retrospect, the DCT allowed me to focus on my surroundings and not shifting gears, so that was a very good thing and this bike got me back on 2 wheels. Since then, I’ve owned 5 bikes with DCT, and all generations and have logged over 150,000 miles with no mechanical issues. It’s an amazing design and on my 2018 GoldenWing DCT, it’s very refined. Enjoy your content and will keep watching. Good work…ride safe!
I have been used to plenty of power on my bikes (02 & 14 DL1000 v Stroms) so I wonder if this would do it for me? Could it cruise at 70 on well graded gravel? 75 into the wind on the slab? Scrape the pegs in the twisties? I am living in the past though, not sure I'm up for any of that now.........
I am new to the NC750X and can say it is pretty cool...78 with semis and 90 milers in a rush hour herd ...it handles like it loves corners, and tracks straight arrow in the county gravel roads running through the cotton fields here. So far very fun bike ! ( I also have a Wr250R which has been my go to adventure bike. )
I've just purchased a brand new one a week ago, I got the manual version and love it. Some comments I'd like to make about your good assessment. 1/Agree about the thermometer, it should really have one. 2/Honda do actually have an option to buy Honda fitted heated grips.3/ Again Honda do offer a centre stand as a factory/dealer fitted option, I took this option. Ride safe.
I had a '20 and loved it. took it light off-road, took it all over the place, suspension was not enough as you noted, but for me, it was great. Upgraded to an Africa Twin b/c of better suspension and spoked wheels and more power, but if I had to have one bike, that would have been it.
Had one, it was a great bike. It required a taller windscreen, bar risers and the center stand for my needs. The budget suspension works alright for the most part but not up to the task of hitting potholes and such things. Storage was brilliant and I only added a small top box for extra room for rain gear, etc. Fuel mileage was impressive, but the size of the tank wasn't. Long distance with the seat was brutal for me. Added a seat pad, but that too didn't help on longer trips. So, for a commuter and shorter trips, brilliant bike. But for longer trips or touring, I recommend something else that's better suited for that. I traded it in on a Moto Guzzi V85TT and I'm now much happier on long rides. Great review, love your content.
Should have mentioned you're using the optional tall windscreen while complaining about wind noise but overall a fair review. Love my 23 but have been following this bike for 8 years and happy I found a dct only here in the states. Total blast to ride
I remember your great Tuareg review. I wanted to get a CRF300L Rally for a first bike as a returning rider, but they're simply unavailable in the states. Main use would just be cruising rural areas. Tuareg was next on my list, but seemed a bit too advanced and also more $, and many more hassles in the US with few dealers. Went back to the NC750x because it seems so versatile. The ability to nip off to the store and bring back a bag of groceries in that frunk is more exciting to me than I should probably admit.
The NC750X is on my radar as a replacement for my Super Tenere. My Super T is heavy and tall, and gets around 42mpg which isn't bad. The NC750X is lighter, gets better mpg, and has built in storage. A center stand would be added, and possibly Shad panniers. Nice review...👍😺
I own a 2018 manual version of the NC750X. I bought it last year and have so far done 7000 km on it. The fuel consumption over those 7000 km has been 35.6 km/l (83.7 mpg US or 100.6mpg UK). I ride mostly open roads, not a lot of city or motorways, which helps fuel consumption of course, but for a 750 cc bike I think the fuel economy is amazing. Like on 98.2% of modern motorcycles the front mudguard of the NC750X is too short to protect the bike, so it needs an extender. This is really stupid on your practical motorcycle, Honda. Motorcycle manufacturers seem to consider it a crime against humanity to fit belt drive on anything but big, hugely expensive american cruisers, but this bike really deserves a belt. Either that or a shaft drive would make it the perfect bike for people who use their motorcycle as more than just a weekend hobby. Chain drive is a pain in the a.. and it's the only thing I really don't like about my NC.
I don't understand why people like belts or shafts drives so much. They're a lot more expansive while you could easily fit a Scott oiler or tutoro chain oiler for 100-150 euro and have double your chain life with almost no maintenance at all. Also, the chain drives are more efficient; with both shaft and belt you'd always lose a few percents in power
@@MsSjaakvaak Belt or shaft drive is a bit more expensive, not a lot, especially if you consider that they last the lifetime of the bike, while chain and sprockets have to be replaced. I have a chain oiler on my NC750X and yes, it makes it easy to lubricate the chain. But it's still a dirty, tedious job to clean it, and to clean the oil stains from the rear end of the bike. I would happily give up a few percent of power on my NC for a clean, maintenance free belt or shaft drive, but unfortunately that's not an option. If you like chain drive, there's about a thousand models on the market for you to choose from. It would be really nice, if those who want something cleaner and easier to live with had a little more variety than just wildly expensive American cruisers or big, cumbersome adventure bikes.
Dear Fellows. Hey. I’m from TX and planing to get Bike as daily commune, city + Highways. Love 1000CC CBR. But friend gave me recommendations don’t go for daily ride kind thing 1000CC in practical world. So fellows kindly give me your input on NC750C or any similar bike. On the other hands I don’t like off roading but for out of town like weekend long trip yes, would do that. I’ve been great fan of Triumphs Speed Twin or BMW Rnine. Your advice will be great help. 🙏🫡😇
@@imranfotography As a bike for daily commuting I think the NC750X is hard to beat. It has sufficient power, is absolutely reliable and the fuel economy is in a class of it's own for a bike of this engine size. And it has the built in luggage capacity, which is very convenient. The only real downside is the chain drive, but unless you want a big, expensive cruiser, the options with either belt or shaft drive are very limited these days.
I had a 2018 DCT NC for a while, loved it until the DCT started playing up and it was sticking in gear. Took my local Honda main dealer months to fix, I lost all confidence in them so sold it. Have been craving another DCT bike ever since
I am on my second one of these and have to say, your review is spot on! I put hand guards , a screen spoiler and palmer brackets and Oxford heated grips on mine and a centre stand. The motor is a delight and the gearing is perfectly set up for quick getaways and relaxed cruising! Personally I found the front forks were rather harsh but having changed to Hyperpro it is still very firm though it now really handles well in the twisties, The only other addition I am currently looking at is a rear hugger as the shock gets filthy!
A very honest and accurate review. I have a 2020 model and love it. I live in Central Mexico and one major selling point for me when I chose this bike is it's reliability. This is a bike that will always get you to where you want to go, however long the journey. It has long maintenance intervals and the fact that I can undertake most maintenance myself is an added bonus. The fuel economy is amazing and I regularly get figures around 3.5 litres per 100 km plus it runs on regular grade fuel. I live at around 2,500 m above sea level and whilst alitude can affect the performance of some bikes my DCT doesnt seem to be affected. Note that riding a DCT bike a slow speeds and making tight turns takes some practice and requires balancing applying the throttle with rear brake dragging but once mastered this becomes second nature. All in all this is a great 'all purpose' bike at a very atractive price point.
Great informative review, thanks! Looking at a 2022 right now, basically as a scooter alternative disguised as a moto (I love my S-Max for my mostly-city riding but this adds the extra dimension of occasional road rides, love the concept). After 30+ bikes if I never use a clutch again in the city I'll be very happy...400+ shifts just for my office commute !
I have the 2018 manual version and have logged about 28k miles on it. You mentionrd no thermometer. I bought a $10 aquarium thermometer and it is accurate and works fine. Great bike except for the seat after a couple hours..
I agree, I’ve a 2019 DCT model and like it a lot. They make a great runaround second bike, good an most things and easy to use, saves dragging out something heavy like a K1600gtl or Electraglide just for a run into the city centre.
16:41 absolutly lovely sound from the exhaust on my 2023 model. you re going to love it. In sharp turns in mountains, despite i can lean at a good angle and easily, the front is not turning sharp enough and it turns wider that you'd expect. Evrything else, the confort, the quality of the suspension, you are going to love it.
Check the suspension settings, if it's running wide. I had a loaner vfr750 and it would run wide very badly. So I reset the suspension settings to standard as per the manual. It transformed the handling and the very would go where expected on roundabouts etc.
@@Google_Does_Evil_Now well, after 4000 miles I had to change the default Dunlop tyres and chosed Road 6 Michelin... The difference is amazing how easily I put the motorbike on the sharp angles.
I have the optional centerstand..it was easy to install but the springs what hold it up was a really faff to install..they are strong..and top box so a can lay my helmet there..and the dct is werry good..never wrong gear and you can shift whit you fingers and the parking brake is good..
Hello and greetings from ‘ down under’ here in Australia. I have been a subscriber of your Chanel for some time and really appreciate your candidness and humour. I have also been interested in this bike as an all round bike...but it’s not available in Oz. Any chance of exerting some commercial pressure on Honda to bring it here?
I‘m also preparing for my first bike to combat the horrendous Bucharest traffic and looking for an adventure bike. I‘m 1.8m tall and looking for something to flat foot at stops and easy to handle when maneuvering in tight spaces. And the NC750X besides the VStrom 800DE are on my top choice list, but thinking more about the NC because of the DCT and integrated storage compartment.
@@andreatilli6227 the mighty Africa Twin DCT in Rally Red. In a few days it will show 4000 kilometers on the odometer after 2 months of adventures and Bucharest traffic.
Great review. I’d like to see a cruise control option and TFT. Also, I’m worried about higher speed overtakes on two lane roads. Like accelerating from, say 60mph to 75mph to zip around a slowpoke. Thanks again.
Good, very detailed test. I just don't agree when you say that it's not possible to have heated wrists, which isn't true. Honda has this option as an original accessory that I acquired when I bought my Nc last year and it works perfectly and is an asset on winter days. Otherwise, you gave an excellent assessment of the bike. Congratulations.
Agree in most things. Gonna upgrade from my CB500X the moment I can, but I have to wait quite a bit. The thing I disagree are the looks, I think the bike is just absolutely gorgeous looking! The other thing I don't like is everyone tells me the handbrake/parking brake can be manipulated by anyone... please Honda, lock it when bike is off for gods sake so it is harder to steal...
@@OperationFoxley19441 But its a lot harder, sometimes having the rear and fron wheel blocked won't let you do it as sometimes you need to move a little bit to let it you shift gear, so if you leave it in 4th gear, would be a little annoying for the "thief". Once again it is useless as if someone really wants your bike they will just come 3 guys and put it in a van, but you know, a little more annoying for single thieves and if some "funny" person unlocks your parking brake in a ramp, etc. I just think would be easy to lock the system for honda.
Unfortunately in the last MY they lowered the seat at a point it's just too uncomfortable for my long legs... Otherwise one of the best budget all-arounder on the market, with the vstrom 650...
That was not a bee, it was a Hornet, reminding you of another cheaper 750 :) NC is a great workhorse, that low revving engine remind me of my old NTV650 I owned as my winter bike. This looks like it would be a perfect all year round bike for a bit of everything.
No option for heated grips? Uhm, yeah there is, that package also adds the center stand, lower wind deflector and a larger wind screen, one package pretty much fills in all the complaints.
Brilliant review, new sub here! Tested this bike yesterday, loved the bike, agree with all your pros and cons. Hated the wind blast from the screen, it was so noisy at highway speeds, would have to get a taller screen if a bought one!
Great review and great bike. Had mine for 6 months now and love it. Frunk not big enough to fit my helmet but great for shopping and laptop etc. Is that a Saffie accent I hear?
No heated grips option?! The pre-2021 model has a connector under the plastic body for the oem heated grips and the temperature appears on the display. Has that now been dropped? However, at the price they charge for them, it's cheap, quick and easy to add a pair of Koso or Oxford heated grips. Centre stands are always a must in my book, but many people don't like them, so the option is fine for me. To add grips and stands, etc would merely push the price up Electronic Cruise control is the big omission - or the option to add it - now that it would be so easy to add it in the factory.
Great vid! Big fan. Have they fixed the headlight? This was my introduction to adv bikes and I rode this thing all over the U.S. lots of add ons. The nc700 had a headlight but it was bad.
I might've missed it in the video, but how does this bike feel cruising about 80mph (129 kmh)? I'd want to be comfortable maintaining the average freeway speed here in the west US, if I'm going long distance.
At 80mph there can be a good bit of wind buffeting on your helmet and the handlebars are a little bit vibey. I did 8 hours in one day and it was pretty okay. Maybe it's more my body that was taxes than the bike!
I have a 2016 NC700X that I like a lot except for one fault that stands out like a sore thumb. The suspension does well until an abrupt road hazard such as a deep pothole or rut is encountered. The suspension turns to rock in that situation. My suspension travel is the same as you mention for the newer NC750 - 4.7 front and rear. I have to use an Airhawk over the top of a gel pad to protect my spine from the sharp impacts. Your review seemed to give the suspension a good grade. Did Honda make improvements to the newer NC model suspensions for compliance over abrupt road hazards???
A good quality aftermarket shock is the fix for the horrible rear suspension, to fix the front forks I drilled the damping rod holes out to .250 in. and installed 7 wt. Bel Ray fork fluid. Big imrovement in suspenion compliance.
Nice video. It is very informative and as a result of that I have subscribed. Just one thing that I think a lot of guys that make these videos forget to do is to tell the viewers a few of the specifics of the rider. I don't recall hearing you say how tall you are which is an important thing to know in terms of if the bike is a good fit for someone. I am about 6 foot one inch tall with about a 34" inseam so I want to know just how well my legs are going to fit on the bike before I ever purchase one. Another thing that is often missed by reviewers is the altitude that the bike was tested at. A bike tested at sea level will often have considerably different performance numbers than one tested at 2500 feet of altitude. These may sound like I'm nitpicking but a bike can be a substantial investment and like the temperature that you would like to see on the things included on the bike I would like a few more informative numbers to base my decisions on. Thank you for your work on this video nonetheless.
I like it but: - Slightly too heavy - 23 of storage is absolutely not enough. Especially that there's still space there. - Belt instead of chain required
"Cast iron wheels"...? I hope not! 😀 Good review. Agree with the Cons and lack of thermometer. Weird. Connectivity would have been nice (or an option).
I have the 2017 model , metallic bleu with the rails on the luggage compartment , the higher seat height and suspension. Don't like the colors and the paintwork on the new model and the lowered it so to cramped for me. Honda should give you options in seat heights.
Nice review 👍. @6:09 if you can lean the tip of the helmet chinguard to one side, you may be able to close the frunk. Mine fit like that, but maybe because I have a smaller helmet, but it worth a try. One question, don’t you ease on the gas while it is still in breakin period? 😅
I guess Honda's thinking is that if you want all these things and more, buy the ADV which costs almost 50% more. My 2017 S version is simple but cheap and I'm happy with it. If I had an X I'd take the windshield off, no more turbulence. It may have been a good idea to mention that the previous X was more of an adventure bike, taller, more suspension travel and ground clearance. Honda discontinued the S version, the X is now an S just with a fairing.
After 3000 km on a new NC750x 6MT: 1) Its purely a road bike with straightened rider position. 2) Its quite beefy before and after 100km/h and the fuel consumption is really low. 3) Please don't take it off road. I mean it hardly coups with bad asphalt and isn't comfortable at all even on the gravel. 4) Its too big and heavy in traffic and it can not crawl
How low is the center of gravity in terms of driving experience? Is it light enough for a 165cm tall person to hold during stops on slanted ground/pavement? How about picking it up? Nice review.
Is BMW ever going to release information on their new GS adventure bike? Curious if these delays are normal for bmw? Wanted a gsa, but want to see if new version is worth waiting. I don't buy and sale, i buy and keep until it is worn out.
Made a little mistake here: the wheels were obviously alloys and not cast iron :)
Was wondering how much lighter it would be without cast iron wheels 😂

@@Google_Does_Evil_Now well, after 4000 miles I had to change the default Dunlop tyres and chosed Road 6 Michelin... The difference is amazing how easily I put the motorbike on the sharp angles.
@@ericplongeur9267 that's good.
I have the optional centerstand..it was easy to install but the springs what hold it up was a really faff to install..they are strong..and top box so a can lay my helmet there..and the dct is werry good..never wrong gear and you can shift whit you fingers and the parking brake is good..
Well done, all I wanted to know about this bike that I have booked for next january, perfect review
I ride my CX500 , 157,000 miles, never had any issues with drive shaft , yes Honda make me one with a shaft
I've been considering buying this bike for a while here in the US. I think I'm starting to like this bike over the KLR. Thanks for an awesome review.
Thanks. I just got the 23 model. Really Lucky. Can't gettem here.
What did you get?
@@andreatilli6227 the mighty Africa Twin DCT in Rally Red. In a few days it will show 4000 kilometers on the odometer after 2 months of adventures and Bucharest traffic.
Great review. I’d like to see a cruise control option and TFT. Also, I’m worried about higher speed overtakes on two lane roads. Like accelerating from, say 60mph to 75mph to zip around a slowpoke. Thanks again.
This bike would easily be able to accelerate to those speeds
There is aftermarket cruise control option available.
For comparison purposes, ..what is your height and the length of your inseam??
Great in-depth review!
Thanks a lot for the review. It's very informative and objetive. Helped me to decide which bike to get this year.
I just orderd the 2025 model with new TFT 5inch screenend double brakes in the front
Picking up 2022 with manual transmission tomorrow. Never road one yet. Let’s hope I made a right decision.
It does have air temperature. Switch the display where the fuel consumption is on the bottom left.
What??
Agree in most things. Gonna upgrade from my CB500X the moment I can, but I have to wait quite a bit. The thing I disagree are the looks, I think the bike is just absolutely gorgeous looking! The other thing I don't like is everyone tells me the handbrake/parking brake can be manipulated by anyone... please Honda, lock it when bike is off for gods sake so it is harder to steal...
But then with a manual the same is true, you can pop a manual bike into neutral 😐
CB500X is better and more capable bike. That is downgrade in my opinion, especially if you have 2022+ cb500x. NC750X is useless offroad.
Unfortunately in the last MY they lowered the seat at a point it's just too uncomfortable for my long legs... Otherwise one of the best budget all-arounder on the market, with the vstrom 650...
Is there option to put more softer (and obviously higher) seat?
Hmm... Mine does have Honda warming grips and center stand, not aftermarket. Anyway, love it.
Great review watch it twice. This will be my next bike! 🎉
That was not a bee, it was a Hornet, reminding you of another cheaper 750 :) NC is a great workhorse, that low revving engine remind me of my old NTV650 I owned as my winter bike. This looks like it would be a perfect all year round bike for a bit of everything.
Best review yet, thanks.
Super back to basics test thankyou.
What about testing the new royal enfield custom
There is one thing that the NC750 can do perfectly..... FUEL ECONOMY !!
Excellent, informative review. Thanks.
NC750XDCT is the best bike in history
No option for heated grips? Uhm, yeah there is, that package also adds the center stand, lower wind deflector and a larger wind screen, one package pretty much fills in all the complaints.
I really love this bike bro. I do ride a Dr 650e but i want to get NC750
Good review, love the channel. Where's Dave these days?
To add grips and stands, etc would merely push the price up
Electronic Cruise control is the big omission - or the option to add it - now that it would be so easy to add it in the factory.
Great review thank you
Thanks man! Great presentation!
Love these videos!
Good review mate.🏍️👍🍻
Very practical every day comfort.
That really was a helpful and thoughtful review, thank you. Any thoughts/comparisons on this NC vs a maxi scooter like the Burgmans?
You've stopped broadcasting from your garage? I'm sure you've said something about this before.. This was a good review!
11:57 that's because it's a 270 degree cross plain engine which makes it sound like a V-twin 😏
Heated grips ARE optional actually (400 eur lol) but it's there.
Great video well presented 👍
Great vid! Big fan. Have they fixed the headlight? This was my introduction to adv bikes and I rode this thing all over the U.S. lots of add ons. The nc700 had a headlight but it was bad.
I usually test the lights at night; this one I didn’t though.
How about vibes at highway speeds?
i just packed my supermarked stuff in the "tank storage", love it. 2,5s to 0-50kmh so, nice to speed up :D
Very fair review 👍
I might've missed it in the video, but how does this bike feel cruising about 80mph (129 kmh)? I'd want to be comfortable maintaining the average freeway speed here in the west US, if I'm going long distance.
At 80mph there can be a good bit of wind buffeting on your helmet and the handlebars are a little bit vibey.
I did 8 hours in one day and it was pretty okay. Maybe it's more my body that was taxes than the bike!
I recommend grip puppies. Huge improvement in vibe reduction.
He said 5' -11" early on.
Would you consider this for short cruising trips (2 to 300 km) with paniers and wife on the back seat?
I like it but:
- Slightly too heavy
- 23 of storage is absolutely not enough. Especially that there's still space there.
- Belt instead of chain required
For a practical bike, what are the service Intervals please?
"Cast iron wheels"...? I hope not! 😀 Good review. Agree with the Cons and lack of thermometer. Weird. Connectivity would have been nice (or an option).
What make helmet did you have that didn’t fit?thanks
I sat on one at my dealership today. Golly, it felt nice.
Needs upside-down fork, dual front brakes, center stand, and cruise control. It does not offer enough to get me out of my Burgman 650.
Honda discontinued the S version, the X is now an S just with a fairing.
you can get factory heated grips, there is adventure pack
After 3000 km on a new NC750x 6MT: 1) Its purely a road bike with straightened rider position. 2) Its quite beefy before and after 100km/h and the fuel consumption is really low. 3) Please don't take it off road. I mean it hardly coups with bad asphalt and isn't comfortable at all even on the gravel. 4) Its too big and heavy in traffic and it can not crawl
a que velocidad se debe asentar motor y a que revoluciones ir?
Great video.
Good bike in Honda quality.A pain to remove your gear from the pilion seat when filling up😢
I'd get one with a top box. I know a vlogger who has one he is replacing with an Indian Chief Sport. Centre stand?
This or a CB500X?
if you want an auto gearbox motorbike get nc750x DCT
Do you know what is the speed cruise
I have a Yosimura on my2015 NC700X DCT
How low is the center of gravity in terms of driving experience? Is it light enough for a 165cm tall person to hold during stops on slanted ground/pavement? How about picking it up? Nice review.
How agile is the Honda NC750X compared to GS1250?
Is BMW ever going to release information on their new GS adventure bike? Curious if these delays are normal for bmw? Wanted a gsa, but want to see if new version is worth waiting. I don't buy and sale, i buy and keep until it is worn out.
They should announce it in Aug/Sept
