Feel like this song was a mixture of Ren talking about his struggle with illness while simultaneously taking a giant dump on his haters making it clear he's also a beast and not one to be messed with. Lyrics guys, go through and stop it to break down what he just said. Knox Hill, IS a really good one to watch for that. The whole thing from the title of the song. To each word and phrase had more than one meaning. If you can catch it. (I am still learning) But, this wasn't all about the words. It was a creation that was dark, urgent, confident and strong. I’ve never listened to rap until ca 2 yrs ago, with Tom McD. Ihardly understood anything at first. I heard the words but it was so fast. I’ve gotten used to it. Now Ren has another style, accent. And also there are often quite clever lyrics, double meanings, references to movies, politics, litterature. In this you had Freddie Krueger, Freddy Murcury, Mary Poppins, Sherlock Holmes and Screetch and more. 👌🏼😎
Great reaction, and don't fee bad about missing the lyrics. Most reactors that do a lyrical breakdown have to stop and rewind every few bars to catch all his meanings. He throws so many similes and double entendres into the mix that it takes a few listens. Just the simple "Ready? I’m Heavy, I’m Mercury, I Am Freddy" line - most people catch the Freddy Mercury reference, but miss the fact the Mercury is also a 'heavy' metal.

You can pull up the lyrics. It takes time to process what all he's saying. Every listen I learn more. I also learn from other people's comments. I can understand how you must feel with English being your second language. Not only are you hearing multi levels of meanings but to also have to process the language barrier. I love to watch your interaction with each other. You are very special yourselves.
Don't worry about not catching everything... I have watched many reactors who's first language is English and only caught a few things in the first listen.
This is the exact way I thought this would go, that you would "love it because you love Ren". I watched him live when the song dropped, and he was so proud of the song, and so happy to see the reception it was receiving. He cried when he saw that there were reaction videos to it minutes after it was released. Personally, I felt the same as you, and the song has grown on me after a couple of listens. But on first listen I didn't like it, and found the production too noisy and ugly. I don't feel like it's a good introduction to Ren's rapping, if this was your first rap song of his. Songs like Genesis and The Hunger are much better sounding, and his song Losing It is absolutely bananas. I hope you'll dig deeper into this side of him, just so I can watch Andrei looking so happy banging to the beats. You guys are amazing!

As you said, I love Ren in general and I still claim that he is a kind of genius, but his hip hop songs are just not my cup of tea (except for Sick Boi, because that one is too personal to me). I’ve never listened to rap until ca 2 yrs ago, with Tom McD. Ihardly understood anything at first. I heard the words but it was so fast. I’ve gotten used to it.
Now Ren has another style, accent.
And also there are often quite clever lyrics, double meanings, references to movies, politics, litterature. In this you had Freddie Krueger, Freddy Murcury, Mary Poppins, Sherlock Holmes and Screetch and more.

Great reaction, and don't fee bad about missing the lyrics. Most reactors that do a lyrical breakdown have to stop and rewind every few bars to catch all his meanings. He throws so many similes and double entendres into the mix that it takes a few listens. Just the simple "Ready? I’m Heavy, I’m Mercury, I Am Freddy" line - most people catch the Freddy Mercury reference, but miss the fact the Mercury is also a 'heavy' metal.

If Dominika like some more upbeat and lighter tracks, try Power and What You Want. Losing It, and Genesis are also quite excellent.
I really love your reactions, and I love that you're so excited about Ren! I prefer his more melodic songs which aren't as cryptic. But I can appreciate the brilliance of this song, too. As you dive deeper into the world of Ren, you'll see that he's spinning an intricate net of cross-references between his songs, especially with his recent rap songs. His recent songs feel more like puzzles to solve, which is exciting, too!
On his community page on youtube, he's also explained the song a bit and given some context.

You can pull up the lyrics. It takes time to process what all he's saying. Every listen I learn more. I also learn from other people's comments. I can understand how you must feel with English being your second language. Not only are you hearing multi levels of meanings but to also have to process the language barrier. Don't worry about not catching everything... I have watched many reactors who's first language is English and only caught a few things in the first listen.

This is the exact way I thought this would go, that you would "love it because you love Ren". I watched him live when the song dropped, and he was so proud of the song, and so happy to see the reception it was receiving. He cried when he saw that there were reaction videos to it minutes after it was released.
Personally, I felt the same as you, and the song has grown on me after a couple of listens. But on first listen I didn't like it, and found the production too noisy and ugly. I don't feel like it's a good introduction to Ren's rapping, if this was your first rap song of his. Songs like Genesis and The Hunger are much better sounding, and his song Losing It is absolutely bananas.
I hope you'll dig deeper into this side of him, just so I can watch Andrei looking so happy banging to the beats. You guys are amazing!

Don't worry Dominika, I didn't understand almost anything first time I heard it. And also I must admit that I really don't like any hip hop...even if it's Ren. As you said, I love Ren in general and I still claim that he is a kind of genius, but his hip hop songs are just not my cup of tea (except for Sick Boi, because that one is too personal to me).

Каждая песня Рена имеет как минимум 3-4 разных смысла. Я обычно обтекаю неделю-две, пока до такого тупого создания , как я, начинает доходить 10-15% от заложенного в каждую песню смысла. Хотя, может он и сам не понимает до конца, что куда заложил )
