do you have any other youtube tips
I speak behalf on the other replies, hi.
I switched from photoshop to photopea and its great! one thing to note is that you can "download" photopea. its technically still running through your browser but keybinds like ctrl+t will now transform like normal. im pretty sure fullscreening photopea within the web browser will also let you transform with ctrl+t
How to download Photopea? I couldn't find any way to download it
@@ShantanuBaviskar at the top click More > Install Photopea
@@ShantanuBaviskar If you go to the photopea website in google chrome, a download button pops up next to the bookmark button. It only works in chrome though, and I'm 65% sure it also only works in windows.
@@ShantanuBaviskarYou just google “Photopea download” and there is a guide
@@ShantanuBaviskar it doesn't "download" it. basically if you don't have wifi you can still use the website offline as it is fully cached
Photopea was THE software I needed to comfortably switch to Linux on my main desktop PC. That was 3 years ago and I'm now a happier person. Thanks Ivan!
How do you do that search thing :0
hehe linux go brrr
You're tempting me to finally switch to Linux, too. Though, I'm not sure about video editing. Are there any programs you can recommend to edit video adobe-like on Linux (if possible for free)?
@@kjanaa66 I think Davinci Resolve works on linux
@@kjanaa66 you've probably already heard of it, but davinci resolve is currently the best premier pro alternative that works well on linux
"Ads on the right side.... *slides over to extensions*" - got an actual lol from me there. Your videos are so good in terms of clarity, explaining things fully and the editing.
cmon, you SHOULD support them by disabling it, they provide you with SO MUCH for FREE, its honestly crazy
@@lukas_sideswipe4367 why are u blaming someone commenting when the video its not theirs and the pov is also not theirs 💀 PLUS i use photopea with no adblocker and theres no ads
@@lukas_sideswipe4367it still supports them the ad agency still pays them it’s just that you don’t see the ads.
@@lukas_sideswipe4367As long as it's not intrusive, I'll gladly turn off my adblocker for this.
@@lukas_sideswipe4367 ads are bad, mmmkay.
I've been using photopea for many years now. Its pretty simillar to photoshop and almost all the features you might need are there
Nice you made it so the word photopea searches for it

I've probably completed hundreds of projects with photopea at this point. It's the best piece of software I've ever used.
That's why I leave the ads on the right side. They deserve the ad money

There's also Vectorpea which is a "Free illustrator" and it works super well

As someone who uses photopea often, it was pretty funny watching you over complicate some of the easy steps, however i think u did great. I love photopea and it’s a super good alternative to photoshop.

For me Krita is best free Photoshop. In theory it is more for drawing/painting, but you can use it as PS alternative(editing). MUCH BETTER comparing to GIMP. You should try it just for fun. And as I said, if you like to draw, Krita is the best.
Bro I can assure you gimp is more powerful then any tools mentioned here except photoshop itself. It's just harder to use
As a GIMP user who draws in Krita, GIMP is better.
@@brawldude2656 Gimp is more powerfull, but theUI...
@@OfficialXSaken yeah, Krita is a drawing app, GIMP is an image editor. They're made for different things, and GIMP is definitely better at editing images than Krita. Krita has the capability, but it's not nearly as quick and easy as GIMP is (once you learn how)
@@jmvr any decent app for digital art _has_ to be a superset of a general purpose graphics editor. Krita is exactly that. A superset.
Meanwhile GIMP can't do non-destructive editing, or even move more than one layer at a time. On what planet is it better?
13:22 use the [ and ] keys to change brush size, this works in most tools
also you can hold alt and click with the brush tool in photopea to quickly pick a colour from the image
Thank you, ive been looking for the short cut but was too lazy to search it
Back to back video Bog is showing hope of consistency
i literally use photopea all the time, glad to see more people are getting to know about this amazing tool!
Bro I love watching your content, you’re so entertaining, and idk if this is one of the reasons but keep that accent intact haha
6:27 usually for background removal (white or otherwise) I go to select- magic cut (or something like that I don’t remember exact name)- and do that
I've been using this for serious UI design work recently and have absolutely loved it!!
You are my favourite creator Bog
Best wishes to you
From India
been using photopea for 4 years now, amazing software
Honestly, I'd love to see a photoshop vs GIMP video or at least your opinion on it. Anyways, love the new video and the notion template. Thanks Bog!
Not worth doing until GIMP gets its 3.0 release
Gimp x paint
4:06 i'm soo glad you are giving valuable stuffs for free
As frustrating as it has been to migrate my workflow to it......I simp for Krita as the best alternative to Photoshop. It's FOSS (so no ads like Photopea) and runs on both Windows and Linux, but doesn't make my eyes bleed like GIMP. I've used an old version of Adobe Fireworks for years, and decided to move to another option since it's getting harder to maintain a compatible way to use it. While I don't know Photoshop, my understanding is that Fireworks was discontinued because Photoshop has the same features. So far Krita has been able to do everything I needed for my workflow, aside from the headache of the learning curve trying to figure out where the options are (and their alternate names).
Krita ftw honestly. I use gimp and krita interchangablly depending on what im doing. Krita is so much better than gimp but both have their pros and cons :3

Right timing, time to watch this while I have my lunch.
Remember when Bog uploaded the rare video? He’s been pumping out videos and they’re all great!
This looks seriously good, and much less complicated than ps.
I was using Gimp for years, but this video and comments made me try this one out, and I really like how it works. And it was cool to use this video as a semi-tutorial and try to make the same thumbnail at the same time
Best content creator❤
You taught me to use editing software better like shortcuts, this is also useful, thanks dude🙏
imo, having used both, GIMP with the community made PhotoGIMP mod is the best free replacement for photoshop
I always get so excited when i see a new bog video. These make my day lmao
thanks for the firefox shortcut
I used Photopea in college I couldn’t afford Adobe programs, Photopea is alright but it’s very limited, especially when it came to using big mock-up files it would constantly crashes. I’m so glad now I’ve Adobe now because don’t have limitations on any personal projects. This was a great video
14:22 i just love your humor XD
I like how from simple Photopea testing video I learned more about Photoshop than from all the photoshop tutorials combined.
At 2:38, couldnt you have just used a color overlay in blending options, instead of masking?
That’s exactly what I thought.
When you open up the drop down where you can navigate to the setting of your browser, from there you can actually install photopea as an App on your pc. Its still a simulated browser, but you dont see your bookmarks etc. And CTRL + T works without alt. This way you have a more dedicated experience. Definetly More Lightweight than Photoshop.
I love photopea. The ads on the side where pretty annoying 🙃
Then pay, making software is not easy, especially of this complexity
@@justpatrick_ I know, my comment was more due to the joke on his side to uBlock Origin. I make software myself and I understand the importance of ads.
man this is perfect, I've been looking for this for years thanks
As for the transform you still can use the Ctrl + T shortcut but you need to turn Photopea into the full screen mode :)
The same goes for Ctrl + W
i'm glad you enjoy my favorite website for making thumbnails
Photopea is a fantastic tool, but the creator behind it seems more focused on cashing in, flooding users with constant refresh ads. Definitely make sure to use an ad blocker. The app itself runs locally in your browser via JavaScript, so the website mainly just serves as the delivery method, meaning their server costs are minimal and you could run it offline in a folder. Despite that, they won’t let you download the app directly. However, if you use a website scraper, you can access and use it offline.
gotta make a living somehow. not many people would be motivated to support this solely with their own time and money
This is pretty complex software and expecting it to be totally free and no ads is unreasonable
Can you imagine the amount of work and time it takes to recreate the work of hundreds of engineers. Plus, 5 dollars isn't greedy.
yeah exactly its basic javascript and $5 a month to remove adverts on JS you located loaded... thats like letting Mc donald's put a billboard in your living room oh wait they did that with the app on your home screen now but you get the point 😂
@@mikailkraft @justpatrick_ learn the difference between donations / subscriptions and spamming people with refresh adverts using up their purchased bandwidth without their permission you clearly no nothing apart how to run a free product correctly and make money
The thing I love the most about Photopea is that most Photoshop tutorials from like 10 or even 5 years ago will be able to be followed just fine. Not possible with GIMP. And the fact that if push comes to shove I can launch Photopea on my phone, I know, GIMP can do the same, but Photopea saved my butt SO MANY TIMES because I could just open the site on my phone. It's fantastic. Some people complain that Adobe is messing with their Photoshop CS6 license, I say - to hell with that! Photopea is even more feature-rich than that version.
If Bog pins this he has switched to photopea
Nope
Most of us like sea 👍
@@Asmathace Yes 😊
Why would he switch he has a Mac Book he can do anything the editing work in that
why is it blue
Loved the ":sound effects" in this tutorial! 🤣But also thanks for telling me about Photopea. Looks very interesting
But I do like to sail the seven seas.
Yayy! I've been waiting for this video 😆
Still using hyprland? I gonna try i think
Have fun! I personally use KDE Plasma (it just looks so good out of the box, and adding light customization makes it better) but i have also been considering hyprland ❤

your second pronunciation will haunt me forever now thanks
You say that the only problem is that it has become laggy once. This makes the experience even more familiar because adobe can't seem to ship a fluid to use product.
I've used photopea for 4 years, its pretty good!
Just for fun, try loading any of your Photoshop created PSDs into Photopea, and see if you have any issues or differences. FYI, Photopea has near full support for Photoshop's scripting library, it can load any font you drag into it, can open/edit vector graphics, and much more
Best RUclipsr in the game
Every time I see an editor trying photopea: it's better than I expected 😅
We actually used this in my digital arts class when we couldn’t use adobe. It’s very effective
Bro your thumbnails have gone from good to insane
Your videos are great! Love that you are using linux.
The fact that I got an adobe ad during this is actually hilarious
a truly fan of your content and I laughed so when you got the pop up for paying $5 to remove ad from photopea and it said to remove ad from right side and you showed a adblocker truly hilarious, and you gained your self a subscribe from me (SORRY FOR LATE SUBSCRIBE)
Dang thank you, wouldn’t have ever heard of this website before
I used photopea prior to this video for one of my projects at school, I can comfortably say I got it done but on my computer there was nothing but crashing and lagging so it also meant restarting the project since I didn’t know how to save. Other than this one thing it was really good and was exactly like photoshop when I use it at school.
As a graphic designer, whenever I’m on trips and I forgot to bring my laptop and I have to get something done really quickly I always do it in Photopea, it’s all that more people don’t try it as it’s a great free alternative to Photoshop
I don't regularly use photo editing, but found through searching Photopea can create a transparent gif for my signature. It was surprisingly simple also.
I'm excited to see what GIMP has in store for their next big update though.
2:13 Photopea has custom shapes and one of the categories is brand shapes.
Just had to say it because you can choose the color of the shape or even use gradients or even patterns. Even a stroke color can be picked.
i really use photopea for my thumbnail and gfx, whoever made this is a W person
Photopea is also great for begginers, its easy to learn how to use and great, i love it!
To pick a color, you can take a screenshot by using windows + shift + s and then bring the screenshot into photopea and then pick the color
you can also avoid the quality dip when resizing by going to transform an image, and clicking on the dropdown menu that says Bilinear and change it to Nearest Neighborhood
learned more about photoshop in this video than ever
“Ads on the right side”
*Hover over UBlock Extension* 😂
14:00 probably means its not recurring, as in you have to manually do the payment each time
If you use windows power toys, win + shift + c for a faster color picker.
I **JUST** TRIED PHOTOPEA YESTERDAY! What are the odds????
I watched the video this morning without realizing it had just been uploaded

ctrl+i is the shortcut for invert, works with svg if it's a smart object
Photopea is actually so fire
Not something that I will use since I use Affinity on all my iOS devices but it is cool to see how crazy close to a full blown Photoshop you can get just using a browser.
Thanks for sharing your experience, very nice video as always!
I see hyprland 👀, good to know that u don't give up.
Much love
I've been waiting to see how this one would go. Good to know it's a decent option.
2:43 You can select by using CTRL + T like photoshop but you need to have the website opened on full screen. either press F11 or do it manually from the website
14:23 "ads on the right sideeee..." my man xD
