Ninja walk is OK for short recording. However, if you are walking around a city it is not very practical. I have found another way to reduce the bobbing. Hold the osmo pocket in flash light position and double click the joystick so the camera is pointing forward. Now imagine the camera is a flashlight and point towards something you want to focus on, then walk forward. The bobbing is now negligible, I think because it puts less stress on the arm.
@@TheDroneCreative Great video. What mode do you shoot in? Can you tell me the best way to shoot with the osmo if I do not want to color grade? How can i learn about color grading for the osmo?

man, that's some impressive good looking job. thak you for the tips! i'm coming from France to Ireland next week to trek on the Western Way and i'll bring my osmo pocket 3 which i just received last week! i learned a lot by watching your videos and i hope that i'll remember all your tips once filming there! i consider getting your "cheat sheets" as well i think but that would have been even better if they could be in french as my english is not always very good 😅 anyway, thank you and keep going! cheers from France!
Thanks for the straight forward and easy to follow instruction as well as showing the improvements made by following them ie. showing the less desirable way to get the shot as well
Your pocket 3 videos have been a huge help for me! From learning which settings to change to how to control the camera and a more professional look. I’m definitely ready to capture some great shots on my trip to Switzerland next week! 😊
Fantastic video, mate! I've had my OP3 for over a month, too busy to use it. You've inspired me give it a go yesterday on a local mountain top here in coastal southern California, USA. Learned that I need to practice more at home. Such great info and presentation of it. Bought the cheat sheets as well. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind words and your support! I hope this video and cheat sheets help. The Pocket 3 is an awesome little camera.
This is very good concept of showing how I do things and how things should be done. Minor thing here is just that the scenery you're using is so beautiful, so even with your "This is just a boring scene me facing the ocean" is not even close to boring scenery :D
You’re doing an exceptional job with these videos, and the stunning scenery is a wonderful bonus. Thank you for your time and dedication. Keep up the fantastic work! 😀
I love that on the last part how you show the difference it makes when using the correct music for your cinematic videos. Thanks! I am now one step ahead from being a newbie.
Ooooh I like that tilt lock. I am going to a big Reptile expo this weekend. Bought he Pocket 3 just for this event. Trying to cram much info in as possible.
I can use these settings to film with a smartphone as well🥳! Thank you so much for putting a lot of handy tips together in one video❤️👏! PS I've been making all of the beginner's mistakes 🤣🤣🤣but now I know better than that!
Thank you - in this video I didn't use any ND filters. I would use them if I was capturing something fast moving and wanted Motion Blur. The filters I have for the Pocket 3 are from Freewell.

Hey Matthew, I am inspired by your way of guidance, I have started vlogging on DJI OSMO Pocket 3. Your vidoes are super helpful for a beginner. Thanks for creating awesome content around camera gadgets. 🙌
Love your tips! And the cheat sheet you just created! Note: I would also love a tip on how to somehow lock the framrate to the propper stutter speed while OTHER parameters remain variable in their adjustment (since it's usually paramount to have shutter speed TWICE your frame rate.... while it seems the OSMO POCKET 3 is varying all the parameters or none [i.e. locking them in with manual settings] )-- Could you answer or do a video on this? - as the seemingly important tip because I notice stuttering or jerkiness when panning horizontally with much of my footage while everyone elses seems velvety smooth - Thanks! Steve K
Thank you for this helpful video. My pocket 3 will be arriving next week and I’m looking forward to implement what you shared here. By the way, what was the name/model of the selfie stick you were using in the video to achieve the dolly effect?
Thanks for another great video!!!!! I don't own a drone but I saw a feature where it can start recording a few seconds before locking into a moving subject which would give a great effect, for example, is pans right to left on a landscape to find the person walking (not visible when it started recording) and now continues to track that moving subject. Does the pocket 3 have a similar feature? This would be great.
Thanks so much for this kind of videos because are very helpful for a beginner, the sheet will be very interesting because I can't remember avery single setting, but what about color profile and filters? I would like to mix Pocket 3's videos with drone's videos, and in common there is D-Log profile, maybe you have already done a video for that? Thank you again. Ciao
I recently bought a DJI osmo pocket 3, and I noticed that In the closed position, the screen is slightly misaligned (by less than a millimeter approximately). It’s barely noticeable, but I wanted to know if it’s normal? Thanks in advance.
Thanks! My creator combo didn’t include a tripod. Did they mess up? Regardless, do you have any suggestions for what to buy on Amazon for selfie sticks and tripods?
Thanks for sharing all the tips, It is very informative. Keep wondering should we use manual setup or using auto as you recommended. Which one is better.

Very useful video. I've been using the Pocket 3 for my vlogs since release but still you showed me new things. And a question... I'm struggling at creating stable footage when I'm filming close-ups (about a foot away). At close distances every little camera shake can be seen on the footage. Even with a gimbal camera...I can use a tripod but it would be better handheld. Any tips or good settings for that maybe?
been considering this osmos wasn't sure about it great hacks I will try even with my gopro!!!! :) I have avoided videos talking to the camera too much -if i had your accent - I might do it more :)
I'd argue that a static video shot can be useful. Especially if there is movement in the scene such as a river, waterfall, cars going by, or even just wind moving an object. There is no such thing as too much footage. I have a list of the different types of shots I like (including many in this video), and try to use them all or most with every scene. Obviously there are times when you can skip some, but it can't hurt to take the video and if you don't use the footage, no big deal.
@@TheDroneCreative noted. Next year I might visit England. Was planning for Ireland. Since I won't be requiring visa for northern island would plan it. I heard even Wales is beautiful.
