I forgot to add that I contacted Turtle Beach and they said they may send out a Stealth Pivot once stock is more widely available in January. I may purchase it for review by then, but other devices are higher on the “controllers to buy” list so we’ll see. I can’t say anything definitive right now as there haven’t been many customer reviews yet, so reliability will be a bit of a mystery until Q1 of 2025 gets underway.
You and me both. The Apex 4 is another one one that really killed me this year. It was sooo good, then after a few weeks when customer reviews rolled in, it was absolutely not lol
I’ve used so many different controllers and the only one I’ve found that fits me and doesn’t break quick asf is the elite series 2 controller I just buy the core anymore I have all the attachments
I hate how almost all pro controllers are advertised to people who play more yet are made for people who barely play. A gamer who plays something like Apex could wear out some of these controllers in less than a year, with most of them breaking in half or less of that time span.
I’ve owned this controller for almost a year I think and its definitely not the most reliable but hasn’t broken , I do def game hard with it though lol 5 times masters and 2 times pred
@@Ketchup9711 I was just having a discussion about this. The majority of higher end pro controllers are built from similar/identical materials to the cheaper ones that break often, despite being multiple times more expensive. The situation is interesting though. It’d make a controller designed specifically for reliability basically unbeatable IF a company were to make one
I Still have beef with whoever at 8bitdo decided to not put all of the following features in the same controller: 1) Hall Effect Joysticks 2) Hall Effect Triggers 3) Back Paddles 4) 1000hz Polling Rate over 2.4Ghz Wireless Dongle It would also be cool if they would do some sort of dual mode triggers like the Xbox Elite Controllers.
Look into the Guli Kit King Kong controllers, those you can probably expect to see an 8bitdo branded version fairly soon, considering both Guli Kit and 8bitdo now have the same distributor in the US.
I am so glad I wait for longevity reviews before buying my controllers. Did that with my Hyperkin Xenon and it has not let me down since first using it the beginning of this year!
Yes, I have an incredible project written and ready to be shot. It will be out after my G7 HE coverage. If you're looking to buy, I'd say don't. Just like the stealth ultra here, the T Pro is far too problematic for me to recommend to a wider audience. And thats based solely on reliability as well. More info will be available in my review soon
Have a flydidgi Vader 4 pro and I LOVE it. Your review sold me on it. Only problem is it having four back buttons has made me wish my Rog Ally had two more back buttons as well. I think it's scuff now that actually has one with four back buttons, and then two extra inner bumper buttons. Hopefully fly Digi or someone besides to steal that idea and put it on a sub $100 controller with all the other bills and whistles in the near future
Nice video. Quick Question, should I upgrade my controller firmware even if it is working fine? I'm worried if something goes wrong, I'm using wgp14 nova pro
Can you please review the sticks on the Razer Wolverine V3 pro from a reliability point of view? Everyone is focused on the dead zone issues but the sticks physically start to wobble the more you swap them out for the long neck or dome etc. Specifically, the left stick for some reason. The attachment mechanism just seems dumb for plastic sticks. I'm on my second V3 pro after returning the first one and it's doing the same thing. I like to swap them depending on the game. It's annoying for $200. I actually returned the Stealth Ultra for the Wolverine V3 pro which has otherwise been perfect. I don't even have the drift issue on mine at 0 dead zones in the app while playing CoD with 0 dead zones as well.
Im on the market to but a new pro controller because my 5 elite controller has broken. Which one should i choose im really debating the razer v3 pro (only because i got young children that pull wires or spin round on my chair, so i can't have a wired controller) or would you suggest a different controller to the v3 pro
I play console sadly, I've seen a video that if you overclock your controller and go back to console it'll remain default but cause it's overclocked to 1000hz would it effect anything on the console or controller itself? Im using the victrix which is already 250 hz default
I'm on my third one, first one had crazy connectivity issues and TB sent me a new one with messed up back buttons, so far, the third one is working lol. It's crazy to say that I'm having less issues with cheaper third party controllers from flydigi or gamesir.
Love the special effects in the intro. Product ratings, companys(looking at you amazon) hound for a review before you use the product. Shaddy practice sadly..! Iam so happy with my Gamesir controllers(SE, HE). Eagerly awaiting said review. Thanks for sharing... "👍"...
Mine kept forcing me to spin around, Couldn’t leave the room without it disconnecting, I must have had to reset it using the hole at the back atleast 3 times a day
My gamesir g7 se trigger input stops and i have to repress it to Zoom back out sometimes. Also the thumbstick sometimes literally sticks to the e right😢
It arrives in 3 days and GameSir better be scared. Cause the Tarantula Pro has super unreliable clicky triggers, meaning the Cyclone 2 will likely cause us issues. I'm assuming they're using similar/identical switches & designs for said triggers, which is why I believe they may be problematic
No issues with my Vader 3 or Vader 4 Pro! Was looking at the Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot for $130, think you changed my mind! The GameSir Cyclone 2 Pro is looking juicy!!! Hope you have a review for that cooked up and releasing soon!!!! So wish Sony would get their heads out of their arrogant asses and let us have a budget Pro controller!!!
Is there any controller that is better than the gamesir g7se? The only thing stopping me from getting anything else is the 1000hz, but my g7se's buttons and dpad kinda suck and don't last more than like 4 months
Only reason i am even asking this is because i need a second controller due to it not letting me use the headphone jack on my g7se when it's on 1000hz. If anyone knows how i could rock a headset with the 1000hz without needing a second 0 drift controller please lmk
I watched a video that you made about the scuff envision pro.. $180 .. I heard a lot of bad stuff about scuff and so i bought it from best buy to get the geek squad 2 year warranty.. 1 year into owning it and 0 stick drift.. Having to use the icue application gets a little annoying sometimes but the customization it allows is beyond incredible. Being able to set M&K inputs on it and do macros too priceless. I might be rambling a little bit cuz I'm kinda keyed but long story short thanks for making the great videos they got me a sweet controller and I highly recommend it to other people.
I love how honest you are and the fact that you're following up afterwards. Respect 😤🔥 I am eagerly awaiting a Gamesir Cyclone 2 review if it's planned! Through early tests from other youtubers, the latency on the wireless 2.4ghz dongle vs USB are almost identical with 1000hz and ~1ms response times all around! **FINALLY** some proper trigger stops too. And the software?? Complete open bindings/macros to almost anything including keyboard and mouse. Not to mention custom response curves for the (TMR!) analog sticks. Edit: Swappable thumbstick caps too??
I actualy bought a stealth ultra at my next local electronic store today, thinking the pricetag is reflecting the quality (as it should be in a perfect world). Before opening the box i was looking into reviews to check if the controller is even good, and all ive seen is mixed to negative opinions about it. Luckely i saved the reciept so i think im gonna return the controller tommrow because it sounds so bad. Why do the elite / pro / ultra premium variants of controllers work so much worse than the regulair ones?...
I hadn’t had any issues like the above and bought it at launch. Until last week, p1 for some reason seems to have a problem with the spring, or potentially dander that I have no way of cleaning it without voiding the warranty.
It seems QC is always an issue with Turtle Beach controllers. I bought a Recon Cloud on sale as a test to see if I liked Turtle Beach enough to invest in a Stealth Ultra, and not even within 72 hours of using it the Left Trigger (LT) was registering as being half-pressed. Everytime I'd boot up a game and got control in the gameplay post-loading or cutscene the controller would constantly be aiming down sights even though I wasn't pressing the trigger. Thanks for confirming the QC issues with Turtle Beach tech, vCuda. (Funnily enough, Turtle Beach did an acquisition of PDP this year - the makers of the Victrix Gambit and Pro BFGs... let's see how that affects future controllers' QC)
My triggers stopped working after 4 weeks getting into gunfights and having to double or triple press for it to register 😢 gone back to my Raiju ultimate (built like a tank) until I find a successor
I haven't really had a problem with my controller. A disconnected a couple of times but other than that I haven't had a problem and actually been doing better in Call of Duty. Thank God I have a warranty on it but I'll look for a backup just in case after seeing this video.
The manba one V2 is a decent choice, primarily because it’s far cheaper than the Apex & Stealth Ultra and has the biggest screen. Although you’d have to do some looking for info about adapters for Xbox to use it I believe. As it is a switch controller.
Had my Vader 4 Pro for about 3 months now, no issue's reliability wise, only issue I do have is that if I open the FlyDigi app no games recognise the controller until I reboot my PC. Which is annoying because I wanted to use the C button for push to talk in games but oh well. So if anyone knows how to fix that, would be sick.
you are the only police we have against unureliable controllers , most reviewers review on a review untit ! and more often than no have not idea about the problems and because they have many controllers they can't realistically wear the controller like normal users do. and thank you for caring about the real delay on controllers , everyone is just insisting on presenting polling rate like it's the input lag! and i got my pivot yesterday , it's working fine so far and i got many things to praise about it and other designing choises to complain about . and the pivoting mechanist feels so stiff and need these tiny plastic parts to be moved by some force , i expect those to fail first for those who play often with the pivoting mechanist.
I have one of the original release controllers. Aside from some SW issues right at the start which were fixed pretty quickly, I've had a great experience with my unit. No issues what so ever until like 2 weeks ago, my trigger stop on the right side stopped actuating reliably but I'm just playing with normal triggers with no problems now.
Funny I havent had any of these issues but did have one where after 11 months the grips started separating and when I contacted Turtle Beach for new ones with in a week had a new controller sent to me and they told me to throw out the old one which Im still using and reliability wise hasnt failed me and I also game every day after work and all week end
I can't speak of longevity, but I got a Machenike G5 pro V2 a couple of weeks ago, and so far it has been pretty good. It's one of those that has K-silver joystick modules that can be swapped out. It came out of the box perfectly calibrated, and when I get the pair of second modules in, we'll see how it works when they're swapped out and re-calibrated. It apparently also has optical switches for the face buttons, though I have no idea what that changes. They sound mechanical to me.
Yo, great update! I own it and yes it’s got so many bugs. I keep having to factory reset it to fix the multiple bugs. On top of that the RT trigger stop works intermittently, full auto on a shooter stops randomly. So yeah I can’t use the trigger stop😢 Will anyone ever make a controller that’s perfect!! I tried the Vader 4 through a xb3 wingman to my Xbox but felt input latency. Any chance you could test some converters to find the best ones to use on console (Xbox) for the Vader 4 or other controllers for separate platforms? That would be sweet🎉
I am still happy with my Gulikit controllers ... Not flawless and I had issues with my KK2 triggers sticking (home surgery to remove the rubber stops fixed that) and then needed to contact support for the left bumper of my KK3 Pro snapped off (very common & specifically on the left one), but they refunded me $8 off my Amazon purchase & sent me a bag of replacement parts for all of the shoulder buttons / trigger switches / a spare set of thumb sticks. I can live with those issues when we are talking about an $80 controller that comes with swappable face buttons, 4 programable back buttons (with swappable paddles), Hall effect joysticks with anti grind rings, gyro output, a wireless 2.4g receiver (that doesn't drop the signal), and macro recording. Only thing missing to me is it doesn't have a headphone jack.
Not sure. I had had maybe 2 or 3 disconnects in a year during gameplay but I have 0 problems with anything else. My favorite xbox pro controller on the market and I’ve tried the Wolverine v3
Thanka for the review. Im removing them from my cart as we speak. I was already concerned about turtle beach. I see not much has changed. I'll stick with gamesir.
I would have to thank you for being one of the honestly more honest reviewers out here for controllers. I hate reviewers that get their shit free from these big companies cause of course they’re not gonna badmouth them! Hopefully he had a great Thanksgiving. Keep up the good work. And save that shit off your upper lip.😛
Had one was crazy fast but after trading in my first one for a stick drift issue (yes, get the warranty) about 4 months later got the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro but boy was the TB Stealth Ultra stupid responsive, quick af fastest controller i’ve ever used.
Perhaps a Victrix pro BFG review to see if Victrix is the first modular controller to be reliable since Victrix already has a very good pro controller already. Thoughts?
I had victrix gambit and I loved it. The performance is amazing took my aim out of this world. Build quality was good other than the cheaper plastic they used but it was amazing. How ever I had moment of weakens and chucked it against wall and it broke. Since then have bought many controller and have been so disappointed in reliability/performance in these extremely high end controllers $200+ cad. The gambit was amazing for only $120. Tired of all these company’s making shit devices
I’ve purchased 1 X box Aim controller with the old spider paddles and I’ve had to send it back twice for rear paddle issues…. But now my left stick has the worst stick drift ever no Kapp. So I just bought me the fusion pro 3 with Hall effect sticks I’ll be using this while I wait to send the Aim. Controller back and wait for its return which could take up to 2 months. (That’s of course if it falls under my lifetime warranty)
My Stealth Ultra lasted me about 5 months. Frequent disconnects, dpad worn out, plenty of other issues. So sad. I'm back to using a standard Xbox controller.. I don't miss the Stealth Ultra
The Wolverine v3 has given me hope that maybe we get a controller that will be good and last. And my gamesir g7, that controller has taken so much abuse, and it just dose not break, why can’t more people make a controller like that
I've unfortunately seen some reliability issues already on it. Some people are having issues with it constantly disconnecting. It's apparently due to the rumble motors causing parts of the controller to come loose. They removed the ability to manually calibrate the joysticks on the te version. And I've seen some thumstick issues as well. Hopefully these aren't widespread and I hope your controller is good I bought a g7 he for now because for $50 it's good enough until something better comes along.
Damn i thought their products were decent for the price... I got the recon controller about 3 years ago, used it for about 2 years with no issues. Ended up getting series x controller... That broke about a month ago so switched back to the recon and it's still holding up well! No stick drift or problems with the buttons or triggers. Shame to see they've let their quality and reliability slip...
Definitely not the everyman solution, but i got fed up with my dualsense getting drift so i got myself a soldering iron, gulikit TMR stocks and an extremerate clicky kit. Replacing joysticks is a royal pain in the ass but it was worth it.
I do regret getting mine. The only way I can reliably play is with the controller wired via USB-C, and even then I still get disconnected once in a while XD. Don't have the thumbstick grinding but I do have the rubber palm grip peeling on the left of my pad :/
1. One thing I'd like to say is that we just can't have anything nice nowadays with these dumbass greedy companies half assing everything. 2. Have you reviewed the PowerAFusion Pro 4?
Doesn't matter how good a controller is if it don't hold up. People in FGC and streaming keep going back to the XBox 360 controller, but those are getting harder and harder to find. Switch 3rd party controllers have a better track record than most, but suffer software or compatibility issues if you want it for anything but Switch. Seems like there's just not enough room for a "bang for your buck" option that can sit on Amazon and just be a damn good controller that you don't have to order custom-made.
Videos 3 hours old and I’m already uncomfortable with the amount of “my second unit, my 3rd unit” comments. Turtle Beach has some work to do for sure What a travesty, I had a ton of hope for this controller. I cannot believe it Elite Series 2’ed better than the Elite Series 2
Lowkey your review did make me buy the product and then i was like this controller is shit. I literally tried 4 controllers till i gave up. Im using an 8bitdo controller now.
If we're talking about controllers with a screen on them, I think the ROG Raikiri Pro is pretty underrated, even though it could use some better functionality options Edit: Armoury Crate BLOWS
Armory crate is hand crafted my assholes, I refuse to believe otherwise Also, would definitely be down to look at that controller. Mainly for “look at this!” Purposes though lol. It seems quite expensive for the spec sheet for the average gamer
Had my stealth ultra for 3 months now and almost every face button gets stuck and the top bumpers💀thing is a plastic piece of shit that I'm sending back
Ngl if you’re an FPS guy just get a battle beaver quick pick controller with 2 back buttons. Almost all CDL pros use the ps4 controller and it is a very good controller. I snipe on 20/20 (max) sens and 120 FOV and it works super well. If you are on Xbox then get a brooks wingman xb3 adapter and play wired. Anyway that’s my rant sorry lol.
Apex 4 was bricked after an update. I have 2 Vader 4 Pro’s. So far so good. I threw my Aim in the trash the first day. Worst build quality I’ve ever seen. Gamesir Tarantula: the sticks just feel off. Can’t figure them out. New Wolverine: sticks feel off like the Gamesir, but great build quality. Don’t like the stick tension for sure though.

you are the only police we have against unureliable controllers , most reviewers review on a review untit ! and more often than no have not idea about the problems and because they have many controllers they can't realistically wear the controller like normal users do. and thank you for caring about the real delay on controllers , everyone is just insisting on presenting polling rate like it's the input lag!
and i got my pivot yesterday , it's working fine so far and i got many things to praise about it and other designing choises to complain about . and the pivoting mechanist feels so stiff and need these tiny plastic parts to be moved by some force , i expect those to fail first for those who play often with the pivoting mechanist.
I just bought this controller 3 days ago and 2nd day it wouldn’t connect. The homie sent me this video and yeah….im returning this MF
So yeah I can’t use the trigger stop😢
Will anyone ever make a controller that’s perfect!! I tried the Vader 4 through a xb3 wingman to my Xbox but felt input latency. Any chance you could test some converters to find the best ones to use on console (Xbox) for the Vader 4 or other controllers for separate platforms? That would be sweet🎉
Don’t worry, I’m gonna hit the like button
Just bought The 8bitdo. Hopefully it treats me well
I am still happy with my Gulikit controllers ...
God bless!
Not sure. I had had maybe 2 or 3 disconnects in a year during gameplay but I have 0 problems with anything else. My favorite xbox pro controller on the market and I’ve tried the Wolverine v3
I have had the stealth ultra controller for 7 months and ive had no problems at all
I’ve had this controller for almost 5 months and I’ve never had any of these problems
Thoughts?
PDP (Victrix company) was recently aquired by Turtle Beach. I think quality won't improve with that move.
Cool smoke effect
I may be the only person that has not run into a single problem with the controller
Please review the Bigbig Won Blitz 2 it's insane
Ya the right bumper went out within a couple days after i used it
Delicious content
Hopefully these aren't widespread and I hope your controller is good
I bought a g7 he for now because for $50 it's good enough until something better comes along.
Love u cüds
♥♥♥
Mine gave out after 4 months of use was very disappointed
Definitely not the everyman solution, but i got fed up with my dualsense getting drift so i got myself a soldering iron, gulikit TMR stocks and an extremerate clicky kit. Replacing joysticks is a royal pain in the ass but it was worth it.
Bro shitting the bed reviewing this over the victrix bfg Pro for xbox
Something
On my 3rd one now lol
Videos 3 hours old and I’m already uncomfortable with the amount of “my second unit, my 3rd unit” comments. Turtle Beach has some work to do for sure
What a travesty, I had a ton of hope for this controller. I cannot believe it Elite Series 2’ed better than the Elite Series 2
Lowkey your review did make me buy the product and then i was like this controller is shit. I literally tried 4 controllers till i gave up. Im using an 8bitdo controller now.
Bro where’s the dope mustache
If we're talking about controllers with a screen on them, I think the ROG Raikiri Pro is pretty underrated, even though it could use some better functionality options
Edit: Armoury Crate BLOWS
Armory crate is hand crafted my assholes, I refuse to believe otherwise
Also, would definitely be down to look at that controller. Mainly for “look at this!” Purposes though lol. It seems quite expensive for the spec sheet for the average gamer
Had my stealth ultra for 3 months now and almost every face button gets stuck and the top bumpers💀thing is a plastic piece of shit that I'm sending back
Turtle Beach E-Waste Ultra is real
no problems at all with my manba 1 v2
Ngl if you’re an FPS guy just get a battle beaver quick pick controller with 2 back buttons. Almost all CDL pros use the ps4 controller and it is a very good controller. I snipe on 20/20 (max) sens and 120 FOV and it works super well. If you are on Xbox then get a brooks wingman xb3 adapter and play wired. Anyway that’s my rant sorry lol.
vcuda is literally sideshow bob
god damnit i just bought this last week
Second
Apex 4 was bricked after an update.
I have 2 Vader 4 Pro’s. So far so good.
I threw my Aim in the trash the first day. Worst build quality I’ve ever seen.
Gamesir Tarantula: the sticks just feel off. Can’t figure them out.
New Wolverine: sticks feel off like the Gamesir, but great build quality. Don’t like the stick tension for sure though.
Shid mine been good..but now I think I should sell it and get another series2 core or two
My Y button has been a little Janky lately
