Backing up to USB is slow because the PS3 only has USB 2.0 ports. The fastest way is to create an ISO to internal hard drive and then FTP transfer the ISO's via ethernet cable directly to a computer. Man, PS3 is the greatest

It was glorious 😆 I only have the 60gb fat model and the Super Slim. I hit up RUclips last week to jailbreak my Super Slim because, like you, I wanted to keep the 60gb stock. Quickly learned I can't do that so I ordered a PS3 Slim off eBay. Supposed to be in tomorrow. Can't wait.

Resistance: Fall of Man and Ridge Racer 7 were the BEST Launch Games for PLAYSTATION 3... Resistance: Fall of Man had a very fun Online but Ridge Racer 7 on a Plasma Display is something to behold, even today. I actually have my PlayStation 3 Slim connected to a Panasonic Viera Plasma GT25X (Full HD). Resistance looks good but Ridge Racer 7 with 1:1 Pixel perfect to Full HD is really another level! The sane for ALMOST every other Full HD Games released for PS3. Red 5.
I was able to get PS2 and PSX games running on my ps3 and ive been hooked since, i watched almost all MrMario's videos they are unbelievably helpful. I was playing the original Little Big Planet 1 on a private server with other players through having CFW, i'd love to see a huge revival of ps3 games as some servers are still running believe it or not.
Since my last comment i finished ni no kuni (80 hours), replayed san andreas for ps3 (do not recommend that port its not terrible but its not great), disney brave (fun short game highly recommend), snd now playing killer is dead
Nice I'm playing Max Payne 3 and Initial D Extreme Stage . The PS3/360 ports of GTA SA are just a straight up port of the mobile versions, with more features broken and more crashes somehow. This means you get GTASA in HD, but there are things like missing vegetation and horrible bugs from the mobile port, and controls oversimplification too, etc. If your PS3 is jailbbroken you could've tried to play the old PSN PS2 version instead
Retroarch on the PS3 and you're absolutely set for life when it comes on something that can play Retro consoles (the real retro, before N64 and Saturn and PS1) I am old...
Had my PS3 fat 60GB model 17 years old and now is completely toast well it had a good run. Ran PS1 to PS3 fine. Retroarch fully loaded with games ran great. ScummVM for point and click games run great. Amiga games ran great. It’s good to see people still using this console just such a shame heating problems can be an issue. The slims of revision 3000 can’t have custom firmware on and 2500 some hit and miss but 2000 and 2100 can jailbreak great but glad in this video you mentioned they can still have heating issues. I used PS3Exploit really good team for the jailbreak and Evilnat for the custom firmware does some brilliant updates just hoping one day that ExFAT and NTFS will be supported to the main XMB menu so can install bigger games from 4GB from USB

Just repaired my PS3 the other week so incould Jailbreak it. Lost my old accounts and had to swap my old hard drive. The ability to get all the games back even without my trophies or ranks is more than enough honestly RIP my 2 platinum trophies

I got "William's Pinball Classics" last December for the Ps3. It's got over a dozen classic arcade Pinball tables on it. Totally worth a look. Right now i'm playing the Mass Effect Trilogy on PS3. I didn't expect it to be anywhere near as good as it is. Totally get why it was universally acclaimed. Looking forward to Andromeda on PS4.

I have a 40gb ps3 fat i put cobra cfw on years ago but man...its so loud and im afraid it will YLOD eventually so I never use it. Its the spiderman 3 special edition so its worth a bit of cash. Anyway ive had a ps3 slim for years that i mainly used and i was reluctant to jailbreak it too because i wanted it to be oem. Figured eh..I want it to be backwards compatible so i went ahead and did it. Bought a 500 gb HDD and copied my old 120gb hdd over to it and then went ahead and installed 4.91 DEX CFW and man im glad I did. Can run ps2 or ps1 games through Webman or multiman (complete with boxart), installed 100 themes to the theme folder, and downloaded filezilla to setup an FTP server. Now i dont even need my usb drive. Just just move files back and forth from my pc to my ps3 over wifi. Can also enter your PS3's IP address into your web browser and use webman from your PC (good for disk swapping). Webman and multiman are so awesome.

Jailbreaking a PS3 is great. I have 2 slim PS3s, one is left alone and the one I jailbroke is because it has a broken disc drive. Did it to play games I never played or can't get easily. Also put a 500GB SSD, because they're cheap and way more reliable than a hard drive.
ive seen comments around that ps3 slim is sata 3 and not sata 2 so putting a ssd storage instead of the hdd drive might help with load times on things and download speeds maybe even help texture pop in for some games

I remember my hen jailbroken ps3 super slim and dear god that machine was so damn loud and even louder when i played PS2,but the jailbreak was amazing because i could go to a friend and borrow a game them copy it to my ps3 and also it had some absolute bangers games its just a pity that most games run like crap on the system like im a massive Skyrim fan and after a couple of hours the game begins to run at 20 fps and below but i still recommend this to anyone with a ps3 or looking to buy it mainly for the jailbreak 😁you can get free games also 😶 also played the last of us on ps3 and absolutely hated 3/10

You can still backup games with HEN, which can be installed on any PS3. The main downside to HEN over CFW is you can't play PS2 games.

on PS3 super slim you only use HEN
i jailbroke my fat 20gig to it will save yr older console as you can set the fan speed in webman to keep it cool
