I remember following a step by step guide to get Big Boss rank and then using all the silly little toys you get to just fuck around this game had so much replayability it was peak gameplay. Fingers crossed the remake of 3 will be just as good
Big Boss's two hour long exposition dump feels off in retrospect when he doesn't mention anything that happened in Peace Walker or MGSV. Like him not bringing up XOF/Skull Face or saying "btw it was kinda rude how you killed my favorite medic" feels like he just forgot about it which make's Massive Medic's whole sitch all the sadder. A man denied his waifu, forgotten by himself, who sold the world. RIP In Piece big bizzle.
I’m pretty sure peace walker just straight wasn’t canon I could be mistaken but one thing I am sure of in medal gear 5 you aren’t the same snake as the other medals but rather one of the other big boss clones that’s why if u pay attention at a couple points people will lie to you about things that have happened in the previous games to keep the cover up without context you wouldn’t catch it

This game was my favorite. I must have beaten it so many times. That and I played the heck out of Metal Gear Online 2. MGO was the shit. I remember I was there in a full lobby with a bunch of other giga chads when the servers got shut down. Everybody lined up saluting and singing waiting for the end to come. It was a magical experience.
the MGO2 of this game was where the tide turned. there was Counter strike, but that was still a one off, and mgo1 was more about goofing off with those 3 other people in your timezone thatmanaged to get online with a ps2 mgo showed that there was more to a multiplayer shooter game than just shooting better
MGO2 was the best online shooter I've played hands down. The range of MGS's gameplay options + online game ended up in so many different wqys to play the game. The multiplayer game modes like INFE were SO much fun as well. I'm still devastated this game was closed off 😢

I just finished playing Mgs4, and it has me feeling every emotion ever. Especially that ending, not going to lie, it's the game that could make a grown man cry.
MGS4 is insanely easy with pressure sensitivity under emulation, you just swap around L2/R2 with L1/R1, it allows R2 to be used for choking/dragging, and if you're using a PS5 controller you get full motion control functionality, IDK why you'd wanna shoot with L1/R1 anyways when the modern controllers have proper triggers.
I recently played MGS4 for the first time, I bought a PS3 specifically for it in fact. it was the last mainline metal gear game I hadn't played and man it was damn good and that ending was just fantastic. I only have a few metal gear games left now. I'm playing through rising on PS3 currently and after that it's just acid, ghost babel and snake's revenge. I already kind of can't wait to replay it.

People say that when they want games to avoid embracing bullshit surface-level western social culture war politics. Nobody ever said they want Metal Gear to avoid war, international and national political intrigue, information flow, censorship, genetics vs memetics etc, you know the things that made Metal Gear interesting.
Game's has unique gameplay mechanics (really miss the octocamo and disappointed with the limited amount of camo choices in MGS V) but unfortunately for a 12-13 hours of total game only 3-4 of them are gameplay.
This is hideo kojima when no one is there to control him, this game amied to shoot at everything and that was wild as hell....no wonder why konami was trying to restrain him, and putting a leash on him in that 2013 scandall.

Ive played mgs 2 and 5 and beat them both 2 times. Touched peacewalker and beat mgs 3 more times than I can count fingers and toes on both hands and feet. Mgs 4 is the last one I care to play and 50% of my reasoning why is because of the exact copy of controls for in game iPod, the last percentage is a mix of the story, camo system and bosses
Great video, though perhaps your view on emulating it is a few years outdated, this is coming from someone who kept their PS3 for 15+ years SPECIFICALLY to play MGS4, I choose to play it on PC nowadays, any modern setup (even my old 1070 could run it decently) will run it BETTER than a PS3 ever could and at 4k, plus I still have my DS3 controllers so I get the pressure sensitive buttons as well :D

I don't think 4 uses pressure sensitive buttons that much, for different grenade throws maybe. But other points are valid. I played through my first time on RPCS3 the entire way this last year when I upgraded to a a ryzen 5600.

The RPCS3 Emulator has been updated enough that it’s possible to play with pressure sensitive buttons and play it smoothly if your cpu is good enough.

Great video, though perhaps your view on emulating it is a few years outdated, this is coming from someone who kept their PS3 for 15+ years SPECIFICALLY to play MGS4, I choose to play it on PC nowadays, any modern setup (even my old 1070 could run it decently) will run it BETTER than a PS3 ever could and at 4k, plus I still have my DS3 controllers so I get the pressure sensitive buttons as well :D
i belive you get the camo suit from beating that one lady metal gear. heck all the bosses gave some cool end game equipment if i remember correctly

Really bizarre and out of pocket statement to say that because Metal Gear Solid hasn't had an entry in 9 years nobody really knows what it is. The series defined the entire medium and I think basicslly anyone with a hobbyist-level interest in the medium of video games damn well has an idea of what Metal Gear Solid is and played it.

-There is not much to set up for MGS4 in RPCS3
-I have a mid-range laptop and managed to run most of the game at stable 60fps
-It is a bummer to set up pressure sensitive buttons on pc(still possible, i dit it), but good thing MGS4 does NOT need them

@@monk5058 Really?? That's funny, I have the same specs, rtx 3060 and 10th gen i5. I truly don't remember messing with settings all that much. Try looking for a performance guide, I think your pc should run it just fine.

I never got into the original installments. So this is my first time playing an mgs game. Until I played the rest of the games.
I don't think 4 uses pressure sensitive buttons that much, for different grenade throws maybe. But other points are valid.
I played through my first time on RPCS3 the entire way this last year when I upgraded to a a ryzen 5600.
I'm afraid it's been nine years boss.
