They're such a good combo. I like every song on the album and the last three are also my favorite. I think Purple Moss is one of the best songs Aes has ever released
I've been listenin to aes since my early teens and somehow it would seem that we were always in a way synced, his songs would always reflect on my own thoughts and life as if he was narrating it, this was extremely obvious to me when impossible kid released, and also matched with an intense depressive episode that started a day before Hot Dogs got published. But these days i've felt like i lost myself, to not elaborate too much, an existential crisis would be a sort of kinda description of what i'm goin through. And guess what the fuck is up, aes comes in, says everything i think and feel in a 30 minute amalgamation of decorated reality and reminds me that i am indeed a lonely weirdo in a proverbial barn, with a couple of weirdo friends and shitty luck, but at the same time he gives me back my pride of sincerely being who i am. If he can make it so can I, If i can make it so can he. Bless you Aes
Stay strong and live your best life, even if people think you're abnormal. Society has a mould that we're all expected to fit into, it takes courage to own your shit when you don't fit that mould. Fuck em lol, do things your own way. I met a guy last year who spent some time away as part of a small community in the mountains of Spain. He came back home for a year and couldn't get used to the 9-to-5 and the responsibilities thrust upon him. He moved back to the mountains where he spends his days climbing, chilling, driving around and collecting waste for a bit of cash. Some people would be pissed off at that. They'd see it as him copping out and not contributing to society. Well, he's not a drain on society either. Don't see the big deal lol, we have enough people on this earth and we're not around forever.
I started rapping in middle age. Everyone around me looked at me weird, now they're getting into my songs. Follow your own path. There are billions of people to handle being "normal" (aka ordinary). Drive in your own lane and, if there isn't a lane for you to drive in, make one. Nobody's going to be looking back from their deathbed and thinking, "I should have conformed more."
In the track Save Our Ship he says, "might release hounds dressed up like doves." Then in the very next track, Sword Box, the first line goes, "what kind of bastion of trust hit the stage with a straight-face and a jacket full of doves." I'm feeling a connection here... I wonder if the songs line up with things like this. So far, the content is pretty similar in each song (not an insult at all. It seems like a concept album) and the content is also fitting for the fucking art work. This album is amazing.
aesop kills it once again. great production. love the overall message of Malibu Ken. gonna cop the CD, great artwork and fun layout, that mask is a must xD
This right here, this is the best of the old Aesop and the new Aesop, flows and word play from almost every previous album wrapped into a perfect collection. I hear Float, Music For Earthworms, Appleseed, Labor Days, Fast Cars, None Shall Pass, Skelethon, The Uncluded, LIce and The Impossible Kid in this album yet it feels like it belongs along his B Side compilations and singles. Fucking perfect combination of all his styles. Hands down the Shakespeare of rap. And whoever this Tabacco guy is, damn, I thought Aesop and Blockhead went well together but this is put together with precision. The synths are off the hook too, especially in Sword Box and Purple Moss.
I put this on during my three hour highway drive this morning, and I loved the whole album start to finish. It's so grimey and raw, different from what I'm used to hearing.
After hearing Acid King when it dropped, I wasn't sure whether I'd appreciate this album as I didn't feel the musicality that much. But I'm glad to say I actually enjoyed this, and Acid King has grown on me too. Gonna press replay and dive back in. Thanks Rhymesayers! 💯

I wasn’t keeping up with either of them but I saw this dropped and immediately made some time and sat down. Such a great album. Tobacco’s trippy instrumentals are like nothing else.
Going from Earthworms to all his work in the latest decade feels like a true evolution of a rapper that can't possibly be compared to any other, because he's still along the lines of being absolutely mind blowing and wordy, yet the cohesion, aka the glue of his lyricism gets better and better as he has progressed throughout the years. His delivery is flawless, his flow, like a finely tuned wave crashing on a shore of amazing instrumental works, personally I like the synth stuff, just as much as the industrialism or the classic hip hop beats, because it all sounds great since it's Aes dude

13shorke13...well said
amen
I started rapping in middle age. Everyone around me looked at me weird, now they're getting into my songs. Follow your own path. There are billions of people to handle being "normal" (aka ordinary). Drive in your own lane and, if there isn't a lane for you to drive in, make one. Nobody's going to be looking back from their deathbed and thinking, "I should have conformed more."
Don't forget he ain't you, so that's proof you ain't alone
The Nostalgia for me is so strong, my teen years were packed full of TOBACCO, this is truly amazing. Brings a tear to my eye.
I couldn't be more pleased.
In the track Save Our Ship he says, "might release hounds dressed up like doves."
Then in the very next track, Sword Box, the first line goes, "what kind of bastion of trust hit the stage with a straight-face and a jacket full of doves."
I'm feeling a connection here...
I wonder if the songs line up with things like this. So far, the content is pretty similar in each song (not an insult at all. It seems like a concept album) and the content is also fitting for the fucking art work.
This album is amazing.
this album bops. aesop's put out some great albums the last few years.
He's at his best ever.
aes and tobacco are a match made in a pixelated acid-washed industrial heaven
This is beautiful. I wasn't expecting this today but it's one thing I kind of always wanted
I can honestly say every Aesop rock album is my favorite Aesop rock album
I'd just like to say that as a life-long rocker, this is fucking amazing!!
I sit down and listen to the whole thing trying to rewind to catch the bits my ADHD edits. Just amazing. What a skillful telling of a beautiful mind.
chips down
*walls up*
The new Daughters album is amazing. I don't know you but I like you already!
found aesop's music years ago ... been thankful ever since
Aesop blows my mind every time I hear him. I love BMSR and Tobacco too, this is an amazing collab!
aesop kills it once again. great production. love the overall message of Malibu Ken. gonna cop the CD, great artwork and fun layout, that mask is a must xD
Foerealdoe give us another Malibu Ken album; this collab is the fire-est of fire.
This cartoon is looking around my apartment for something to steal.
Ken's seen better days, just keep the silverware locked up, and you should be good
You definitely don’t have to worry about him stealing your soap
This Collab is straight fire 🔥🔥🔥!!!
I like how Corn Maze comes after Purple Moss.

Nice.
boyo
Ah, the ol' RUclips switcheroo...
2 people I've been listening to for decades, completely different genres, coming together? HERE FOR IT
Take this show on the road
They r goin on tour this year
Yes pls your. Haven't seen confirmation personally. Source?
Tobacco fits so many beats into a less than 35 minute album. I'd love to hear him expand on em
Dear Aes, Thank you for never letting me down ❤
Thank you TOBACCO and Aesop Rock for this album. It's something special.
Thank you so much for turning me on to this, Melon.
I slept on this one. I now realize the error of my ways. Dope! Imagine life without Aesop...
Just listened to the whole album. Great work guys, my vinyl should be in the mail today too can’t wait to spin it again. Cheers Aesop and tobacco
Bro...please don't retire at age 80! don't ever stop!
I bought this last night not knowing fuck about tobacco. Been an aesop fan for a decade at least. Figured it was the best we were getting as far as a new record goes since the impossible kid. Holy fuck was I blown away. Not only the album itself but production quality is amazing. Apparently tobacco only uses pre-digital instruments. Makes for a great record. Definitely gonna spend my days pining over a second Malibu Ken album.
with how fast aes burns through his collab relationships, you might want to keep your fingers crossed.
He put a song out 9 years ago with tobacco called dirt. Great song.
So no one gonna talk about how beautiful Purple Moss is huh
Best lyrics.
Ill talk about it! Man Purple Moss is beautiful.
Joe Kratman gives me goosebumps 🤤
The production is just incredible, have mercy
Aesop. You have done more for my mental health and ability to find understanding in this maelstrom of cacophony that reverberates mirrored static than any one source i have found. Thank you for your earnest circus you verb turning noun purist
I really like Sword Box
Yes
This production is out of this world!!! Aesop's word play is beyond genius!!!
Aesop will Always be one of my favorite rappers. This is definatly another fire album
The more I listen the more I love the contrast between the hyper simplicity of Tobacco and the verbose tangle of Aesop's rhymes
Fire🔥
This is the definition of a dynamic duo!
aes and bobby did it better tbh
Aaron Neumann Great chemistry between those two for sure!
You guys did an amazing job, really digging it. Thanks for The help.
I am obsessed with the album, I've literally just had it on repeat.
Did not know this was going to happen, so I had to devote my night to it. Another masterpiece from Aes and his A-list friends. Tuesday and Sword Box are dope, Suicide Big Gulp was my favorite on the album. Keep 'em coming Aes!
It's too bad he has a habit of ruining his relationships with his ''A-list" friends
I wasn’t keeping up with either of them but I saw this dropped and immediately made some time and sat down. Such a great album. Tobacco’s trippy instrumentals are like nothing else.
Aes and Tobacco what a godlike combo!
Listen to this almost everyday when I draw after work...it puts me in a trance its the best music ever bro much love and props
I wasn't digging it on first listen but it's growing on me hardcore. This "Sword box" track is sooo sick!
