Richard Allan "Ricky" Kasso Jr. (March 29, 1967 - July 7, 1984) murdered his 17-year-old friend Gary Lauwers in Northport, New York, on June 19, 1984. Two other teens, Jimmy Troiano and Albert Quinones, were present at the murder, which took place in the Aztakea Woods of Northport while all four were high on what they believed to be mescaline, but was most likely LSD. The murder became sensational news in New York City and across the nation due to the alleged torture of Lauwers and supposed occult aspects of the murder. The murder took place during a period when there was much public concern over the effects of Satanic and occult content in heavy metal music and in role-playing games. Kasso was wearing an AC/DC T-shirt at the time of his arrest and was a fan of groups such as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne.

So i tend to draw alot. usually monsters and weird shit. Ive just started experimenting with this style of art in the last month... ive drawn a series of increasingly gross and goopy pieces, with the aim of making something truly disgusting. at the moment its a super grimey burger covered in dead fish and fecal matter. The character in the video represents Aesop's flow altogether. It just keeps getting sicker, and it's falling apart in such an intricate way that you can't look away even though the textures may be unpleasant. It all stays together.
THIS IS RAP, THIS IS HIP HOP. thanks to Aesop Rock. lyrics that tell a story. refreshing like reading a book. i don't read books. thanks again Aesop and TOBACCO.

After I took a shower and changed clothes and burned the previous ones, I listened to the lyrics and the story. Lemme tell you, the look on my face was staggering to say the least. Im going to go change again.
Love these people saying the video is disturbing.. clearly haven't heard the lyrics or know what the song is about.. the story is the disturbing part ;) great track though Aesop! love it!
Just came up with an idea for a fan video. A real life equivalent. Someone sits down into the frame set up like the close up shot in the video and raps the song like normal, but every half of a line (for example "Kasso the Acid King of the Black Circle") he ages one year. If I start now I will be 65 by the time I reach the final Kasso.
Aesop keeps cementing himself as my favorite rapper. Always working with musicians I'd otherwise not know of. Although I haven't listened to lice 1-3 a lot, I liked the uncluded and from this so far I'm sure it'll be fire. It sounded like a weird idea but he makes almost anything work.

@@prototype8137 you're telling an artist who has agoraphobia nothing she isn't already aware of. ^_~
@@rainsweptflower ah, well it sounded like you shut down the guys comment by saying no, when in reality it did certainly help. : )
@@prototype8137 it's all good. Text is even more easily misinterpreted then spoken word, no worries.
We are absolutely fortunate to be in the era of this great artist.
So raw I love it. Animation is top notch. Matches Aesop's style so well.
The writing in this song backs up the study that you have used more unique words than even Shakespear. You are a genius.
tobacco rules, perfect fit
This is such a badass video and song, I’m so happy I got into Aesop Rock
insanely sick beat
There's my medication, thanks Aes
Yooooooooooo. I'm always down for more Aesop. Hail to the king baby
I LOVE THIS. Its great to see this kind of style getting out and about, being used with established artists etc...
I've been waiting for Gunsho's art to get some more exposure somewhere. I was delighted when I saw the Malibu Ken album art: I recognized Gunsho instantly.
please don't watch this on acid
don't make the mistakes i've made in life
i beg you
You good now fam?
@@dragoon3084 -- yeah and kinda ready to come back to this on a trip just for kicks lmao
@@feastmode7931 hell yeah brother
Aesop Rock definitely one of the best ones on this.Respect.I remember that Kasso case from back in the 80.
"...Made it mean more than it meant."
i hope they drop a full album together. some of my favorite tracks ever. such a perfect combo. almost too perfect.
Strictly Rahmen it’s dropping in January, order in the description :)
@@Soupr5 yeah i noticed that right as i posted the comment actually. so excited for this. about to order the vinyl maybe a shirt.
Yooo Ricky "Acid King" Lasso went to the same school as aesop and this whole song is about how Lasso murdered this kid in the 80's.
And aesop mentioned ricky on catacomb kids off of his 2005 album None Shall Pass
I'm from the same town it's like a legend here pretty insane
Where can I find more tastes of this tale? Or can you do a solid on an old man like me and share in your own words?
Oh shit. That's why he's saying "say you love Satin" because people thought it was the satanic imagery in heavy metal
@@cai6972 and because that's what ricky said before he killed that Gary
Aging like wine.
Hope Aes never stops making music.
The character in the video represents Aesop's flow altogether.
It just keeps getting sicker, and it's falling apart in such an intricate way that you can't look away even though the textures may be unpleasant. It all stays together.
I respect the artistic vision behind the video, but my gosh that was unpleasant to look at lmao
imagine it in a VR video
@@vuvffufg on LSD
I thought it was perfect for the music that was being explained
@@Buttermi1kJesus Why can't we have both?
imagine living it
Can’t get enough of this song..perfect combo of awesomeness these two
A beautiful retelling of a tragedy. Thank you guys for such amazing artworks.
Aesop and Tobacco?!??! Dream team.
THIS IS RAP, THIS IS HIP HOP. thanks to Aesop Rock. lyrics that tell a story. refreshing like reading a book. i don't read books. thanks again Aesop and TOBACCO.
try reading BOOKS
deez nuts I know words its 2018 audio books
Read a book, it's good for you.
It's hard to read books and listen to rap/hiphop at the same time. I end up not absorbing the words from either.
It's no surprise that rap fans have no idea about what Aesop's got in his cryptic lyrics. That would entail reading real books. Of, like, science n technology n shit.
Aesop Rock = Untouchable
Goddaaaamn, I've literally been waiting for this since they did the song dirt together like a lifetime ago
This man just sets the bar so fucking high with his lyrics, god damn.
Bro this is gonna be such a good collaboration. Ever since Tobacco did a song with him a while back I was hoping for this to happen.
Einfach der Hammer! Vielen Dank für die Kunst :-) Peace an Aesop !
I think I just shit my pants twice. The first listen I shit my pants from just listening to the actual sound of the song. After I took a shower and changed clothes and burned the previous ones, I listened to the lyrics and the story. Lemme tell you, the look on my face was staggering to say the least. Im going to go change again.
Aesop, anytime I mention the name to somebody else they’ve never heard of em. It’s unfortunate, He’s got amazing talent and voice.
This video is rad, and along with the song becomes something completely amazing.
This legally passes through the blood-brain barrier.
This album has Such amazing production In my opinion.

Sick collab
this was my little brother's favorite song. he loved it so much he nicknamed himself "kasso." rest easy, mike. ❤️
Did he die?
@trecoolman23 you just blow in from stupid town?
*God has entered the chat.*
*Sees video*
God has left the chat
Dick Swaggins correct
Love these people saying the video is disturbing.. clearly haven't heard the lyrics or know what the song is about.. the story is the disturbing part ;) great track though Aesop! love it!
went to the comments thinking people would be talking about the story or satanic panic instead of just saying "eww gross!"
both are disturbing, but the story is more disturbing.
The goat lives.
Which goat
Just came up with an idea for a fan video. A real life equivalent. Someone sits down into the frame set up like the close up shot in the video and raps the song like normal, but every half of a line (for example "Kasso the Acid King of the Black Circle") he ages one year. If I start now I will be 65 by the time I reach the final Kasso.
Do it then. You'll give up by the second year. And if you don't, it's only cause I said you would.
This should be on Adult's Swim
Just watched a doc on the acid King finally.. been listening to this for a good while and he killed it. It's perfectly the story👌
Holy moly, I wasn't expecting a collab from these two; how exciting!
The Acid King! Great job Aesop Rock!!!! True Story Raps Rule!!!
Wow
These lyrics are brilliant
Aesop keeps cementing himself as my favorite rapper. Always working with musicians I'd otherwise not know of. Although I haven't listened to lice 1-3 a lot, I liked the uncluded and from this so far I'm sure it'll be fire. It sounded like a weird idea but he makes almost anything work.
Just because you didnt mention it make sure to check Hail Mary Mallon if you haven't. Its Aes and Rob Sonic
I didn't mention them because already knew rob sonic a little bit. He was also on def jux previously. I have heard a few songs but mostly concentrated on aesop's solo work
Tobacco is rad. You've been missing out!
Hail Mary Mallon is the best material both aes and rob sonic will ever put out. Now that aes refuses to work with bobby, both of their legacies will decline. Probably a childish feud too. What a shame.
@@aaronneumann7750 Didn't know they aren't cool with each other now but I'll get around to HMM soon.
I normally dont like the hipp hopp genre, but this guy open my senses to to a new dimension. A mix between krautrock with experimental "hipp hopp" makes it very interesting. And he is a very gifted poet, simply a genius.
I found a reason to live at least untill January, after that I'll play it by ear.
The best collab.. haven't heard tobacco in forever. ,
The magic is black
Backyard happy and fertile
For Kasso the acid king of the black circle
Same year Bowie dropped, two horns hatched and matured
To gore Northport's '84
Here is '84: Mary Lou Retton, Excitebike, AIDS, Jeopardy!
Wake up the Orwell in me
Crack rock, anyway, seventeen summers in developing
Would it be the middle school or ketamine, guess
Left home in the dark, to curl up in a bear hug in Suffolk county's arms
With a bevy of heavy metal records and leather bibles
More Anton LaVey than Saint Michael
More sherm in a Ford on bricks behind Midas
Fly with the pentagram pilot
Sabbath and Judas and all tunes prudent
Seems tame now, but then it was devil music
Rick six, the nickname clicks
Makeshift altar in a clearing in the sticks
Forfeit a kitten by the forks from the kitchen
With horsemen who drew the same symbols
Pitchforks waving out a grand theft four by four support system, alas
Angus on the ax in the back
Foreground offering a pitch-dark animal corpse and backyard black mass
And a brash curiosity opt for grave robbery
To puff and pluck skulls at a cemetery property
Cops cuff him and stuff him in Amityville Asylum
It's fantasy island for Noah's Lions, at the time
South Oaks, but focus on the environment
And how it couldn't loosen the Lucifer out his client who would flee
Pale moon, pale horse howling death
And LSD to make it mean more than it meant
Pay attention, here's where the whole thing sours
And goes from intrigue into wowzers
At a party, a passed out drunk Kasso gets got for ten bags of dust
Now it's not a big town, and people are big mouths
So he fishes around 'til he figures it out
Gary Lauwers, seventeen years young
You have no idea what you've done
Track him down, beat him pissy
He got five bags back, still owes him fifty
Oh Ricky, Ricky, do we hound him for loot,
Or show him how the hellbound do? Hm
Kasso waives all debts, says "Let's just go and get baked instead"
Two shake hands and the beef play dead
Though it's more like a skeeter shaking a web
And along came a spider with two of his friends
It was into the woods, a delusional mess
Four kids dipped in a black hole bath
June 16, Kasso snaps
Off-guard Gary tackled and pinned
Sees Rick pull a knife from his jacket and grin
Raise that knife like a sword to the moon
Plunge that knife through a portrait of youth, going
"Say you love Satan, say you love Satan"
Lauwers ain't say it, just cave to the face lift
Thirty-two stab wounds, gouged out eyes
Burns on his skin, not a cloud in the sky
Kasso had later explained he was told by Satan himself in the form of a crow
To murder the kid cold, a part of a pristine whole
No, no, no, no, no
And just had to brag, until somebody sad just had to rat
Sat in the cell is a merchant of hate,
Who would hang from his sheet before the third day
Some say Kasso was part of a cult,
But I'm sure there was more than we're told
More than adults and authority could rightly decode
Or maybe I'm wrong and he's finally home
Kasso
Incredible!
You missed the last part but close enough?
@@sirbirbton also the lyrics are literally in the description. People who do this are just like farming lol
Thanks. Had to scroll way too long for it.
Daaaaaaam
