DJ Shadow has unveiled the music video for the song “Nobody Speak” featuring Run The Jewels, a standout track from his album ‘The Mountain Will Fall,’ out now on Mass Appeal Records. The video depicts a meeting of leaders that quickly descends into chaos, a scene not unlike what is unfolding in governments around the globe. It also features appearances by DJ Shadow and Run The Jewels.
Says DJ Shadow: "We wanted to make a positive, life-affirming video that captures politicians at their election-year best. We got this instead.”
Says Run The Jewels’ Killer Mike: "It's such a dope video. It's what I really wish Trump and Hillary would just do and get it over with...And even in that fight I think Hillary would win - and that's not an endorsement."
The video was directed by Sam Pilling and produced by Pulse Films, stars Igor Tsyshkevych and Ian Bailey, and was shot in NYC, London and Ukraine.

There's literally not a single shot where anyone seems like they're overacting, underselling, overselling the action... and it's in slow motion where mistakes and imperfections show for soooo much longer. I'm blown away - just amazing.

To point out, lip sync usually involves no speaking. Pretty sure these actors are running lines to a back beat.

Can we take a moment to appreciate two things?
1. That is seriously some great acting by the main two guys in the video. You can FEEL the tension between them. Also in most parts, spot on perfect lipsync! Seriously, nice work!
2. This video itself is very well made. Great colour grading, camera work, etc. For example, at 1:06, that closeup of the red tie guy's face is fantastic. The lighting across the face is perfect, his expression is so full of emotion, the use of depth of field blur to really make his face pop out of the scene is just spot on.
Really, there are movies with box office releases that don't have production quality this high.

Video shows how diplomacy turns into schoolyard fistfights if we let it through those elected to represent us. Isolationism, imperialism or globalism. Does might make right or is it quid pro quo? It takes two to tango. Diplomacy is only possible when both sides can put their differences aside and accept that they have more in common than meets the eye. It's always easier to point fingers than recognize the underlying problems and work them out.
there are countries where brawls like this do happen pretty often. some analysts even argue that this level of conflict is a sign of a healthy, functioning pluralistic society; if politicians get this angry while debating, they clearly must value their constituents and take their issues seriously. Authoritarian regime politicians are often known for their remarkable politeness; there's no need to argue, since the entire system is all on the same page.

I remember reading that almost all the people appearing in this video are from Ukraine. The room it's filmed in is in Ukraine.
I imagine it would look like most other music video shoots, with the repeated single takes of one or the other quietly lip-syncing along as the actual music is played from monitors. They could have easily done the takes of the massive "brawl" with or without the music. Regardless, whoever RTJ (or even Shadow for that matter) collaborate with for their videos, it would amazing to be along for the ride in their whole creative process.
