@@DjStiv3 That's not true at all. A TON of convictions are for drug dealing and using. From weed to cocaine. We treat it as a felony, almost like they killed someone. But drug use is a disease, not a decision. The things that lead to it are often systematic, not personal. Results show that less regulation, and more treatment is what's effective, where as imprisonment, isn't effective in the slightest. Also, wrongful imprisonment is more common than many believe. Good people do go to jail, and druggies don't deserve jail time. They're just drowning the sorrows with drugs, that the system are responsible for both drugs and sorrow. This is just one case of laws being in place just to fill prisons only. Also, to let you know, prisons are privatized more often than not... They aren't a government institution, really. And thanks to that, they find plenty of ways to make money off their prisoners. Making prisons, quite profitable. Not to mention buying things while inside is extra expensive. So don't worry about your tax dollars. They're more used up bailing out banks and buying weapons.

They're questioning a witness to try and identify the perpetrator and make an arrest on El-P and Killer Mike. The beginning line up is a bunch of El-Ps and Killer Mikes (meant to represent undesirables of society) with some obvious red herrings like the nun, the handicapped man, and the "clean cut white boy." As the video goes on, the line-up gets more and more narrow, with the final being only cops and the two rappers, so that the witness basically has to choose to put the two rappers behind bars (even if they didn't commit the crime). Also, around the 2:30 mark, the numbers at the bottom of the screen represent the number of people incarcerated in the US, which has a much larger number of prisoners per capita than most other developed nations. Basically, the song is about how cops use shady practices and profiling to put a disproportionately large number of people, most typically minorities and people of ill reputation like rappers, into prison.
LP & Killer Mike are killing it in this song. My friend introduced me to RTJ a few yrs ago. Been hooked ever since. Much respect & love for them both. Very talented. 😎🥳🙂❤️💯
1:32 is a reference to Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. The sound effect of the guy screaming is from the movie during one of its most iconic scenes. Also the ammo clips have “Hi There” and “Dear John” written on them, which is also what’s written on the bombs in the movie.
Excellent catch man! I could not make out what the clips said. I love Kubrick as well, and I completely missed that. It was a nice touch, and a clever homage.
@@donnyyasu2764 funny you say that.. after I made that comment I went back and watched the movie again and it wasn't nearly as bad as I remembered it being. Not the best of the Marvel movies but it certainly wasn't as bad as I thought it was
@@jaybird259 people like to watch attractive, muscular, unblemished people jump and fly around through explosions. It doesnt matter how bad the story is or how much it deviates from the original as long as the people are hot and there are explosions and high production people will pay to see it. Star Wars, while being capable of these feats, carries the stigma of being for "geeks" or "nerds", same thing with hunger games and harry potter. If they could inject star wars with more boobs and explosions without the overwhelming fanbase condemning them for doing so they would. The days where block buster movies were made to relate to the individual and leave them with a sense of wonder or purpose are unfortunately long gone, nowadays every movie is made based on a formula where things like profit, likability, rewatch value, rotten tomatoes score, retweet value, and hashtag value all are much more important than things like relatable characters, story value, emotional connection etc. Its not just marvel movies its horror movies, action movies, rom com movies, everything. Its not about making a good movie anymore its about making a good profit. Thats it.
How did it take me 7 years to notice the Dr. Strangelove reference (Slim Pickens' scream and the names of the bombs on the clips) at 1:32??? Love RTJ even more now!!!
makes me sick to think that people that need a hand get thrown in prison for double digit numbers because they cant get the means to get themselves right... its fucking tragic fuck the war on drugs for real
Definitely worth noting, thanks for calling attention to that! For better or worse, I was already aware of the problematic US prison system/population (& that’s a very polite way to put it…), so I knew immediately what those exponentially rising numbers were; but knowledge is power, so again thanks for the heads up

StreetCliche people like you are the funniest in their thought process so here goes so Jewish and Muslim aren't races they are religions is your argument. So let say you're told a rastafarian man is waiting outside your office to see you are you expecting a black man or a white man what if you were told it was a Hindu you'd expect an Indian man or at least an Asian. Can a white person be rastafarian and take that up as his religion sure why not can a Mexican become a buhdist of course but most races have a predominant following to a piticular religion. race and religion and culture are all very closely related and in many cases throughout history jews are not considered white or Caucasian by white people this is common knowledge.
not consistently, but overall they don't put much effort into. Some, like Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and a few others have had good soundtracks.

LP & Killer Mike are killing it in this song. My friend introduced me to RTJ a few yrs ago. Been hooked ever since. Much respect & love for them both. Very talented. 😎🥳🙂❤️💯
YOWAY 🖤💛❤️💯✨💘💋😍
🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎💛❤️💛❤️💛🤎
Turbo Tax brought me here too never heard this until the commercial love the beat 👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Killer Mike is good as always 👍🏾
Ridiculous how good this is, no matter how many times I come back to it.
Factssss
1:32 is a reference to Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. The sound effect of the guy screaming is from the movie during one of its most iconic scenes. Also the ammo clips have “Hi There” and “Dear John” written on them, which is also what’s written on the bombs in the movie.
Nice catch! I missed that. I was a huge Kubrick fan, nice one El-P.
Excellent catch man! I could not make out what the clips said. I love Kubrick as well, and I completely missed that. It was a nice touch, and a clever homage.
Back for my daily visit!
I'm the same with blockbuster night pt 1
Thank you, RTJ, for all of your lyrical mastery! 🎉😊
I stopped listening to hip hop many years ago.. these guys are the reason I'm listening again now
Black Panther hype for using this song.
Someone be the 700th like!
I wonder if Marvel had any idea the lyrical content of this song before using it in a trailer for their movie lol
black panther sucks
Thomas Piscopo my thoughts exactly.
Saulo Borges 💕
The beat and production of this song is so sick. Paired perfectly to the Black Panther.
RIP
Garbage movie
@@slicedbread5692 Garbage taste
Well this video is gonna explode in views soon
You clearly cared enough to waste your time and comment
+King Ishokerz He was qoating Black Panther in Captain America:Civil War
Lmao i feel like a jackass now
King Ishokerz We all do sometimes
King Ishokerz he was quoting what black panther said to Clint in Civil War. Chilll
This song is gonna blow up because of Black Panther!
damn right!
Mark Nava I mean it was already fairly popular
yeah it was their main hit already from rtj3 and people acting like rtj is new or something lol
They're pretty much lowkey underrated but still have a pretty big fan base.
Saw these live a few months ago, still get goosebumps when I think about the crowd going "RTJ!"
Absolutely great job with blasting that bunny. Hammer movement, the slide etc.
rtj deserves so much more
jakethecritic They again aren't nominated for Grammy
jakethecritic VERY DAM TRUE....,,THIS IS REAL RAP !!!!!!
Александр Данилов fuck a grammy
No! National underground treasure.
3 years of listening to this masterpiece and every second was worth it.
FAX NO PRINTER
I didn't know this existed. Was a fan of El-p in the company flow and weatherman days. Buying the vinyls now
What rock have you been living under???? Oh you just got out. My bad
Bro they are out cold. I remember back in the day when killer Mike did songs with bohagon and pastor typy
Dude he has so much shit you have to dive into 💯
Every run the jewels album is 🔥....welcome back
Wish I could hear RTJ for the first time again
2:48 when Mike’s verse kicks in with those different🤌 bells chef’s kiss!
For those who don't understand the numbers at the bottom they are the years and amount of Americans in prison look at the jump since the 70s
Yeah, that awesome war on drugs has driven the prison industry. It's been so successful because nobody does drugs anymore.
makes me sick to think that people that need a hand get thrown in prison for double digit numbers because they cant get the means to get themselves right... its fucking tragic fuck the war on drugs for real
And that makes them tough or something? lol
what makes who tough? the fuck you talking about guy
Definitely worth noting, thanks for calling attention to that! For better or worse, I was already aware of the problematic US prison system/population (& that’s a very polite way to put it…), so I knew immediately what those exponentially rising numbers were; but knowledge is power, so again thanks for the heads up
I'm not a huge rap fan - but I'm a fan of sick ass production and composition. And RTJ knows how to craft a badass sounding song.
Im the same way but RTJ is magnetic
Good taste
THey do their thing
@Tyler E. 👏👏👏 So true.
Its because EL P is an old school early 90s hip hop giant. He was in a group called company flow. Their album funcrusher plus is epic. Also EL P is a wicked sick producer
Been rocking RTJ for years. Glad black panther brought a lot of people to a great group
I fkn love RUN THE JEWELS. A voice for many of us! Thank you!
Black Panther was hype because of this song.
Ashwin Kumuthan even without this lit song black panther would be still hyped
“We are the murderous pair, went to jail and murdered the murderers there, then went to Hell and discovered the devil delivered some hurt and despair.”
Hardest bar, Bro!
Wooooooo!
Came here for just the instrumental part, stayed for the fire ass vocals

Killer Mike is a GOAT, IMO. Such a different flow than everyone else and his lyrics are fire. Love me some RTJ. 👉🤛

I lost it at "The kind of ginger white guy?"
Great video
selig he's a Jew and does not consider himself white
@gas the skypes, that makes no sense.
Victor Dodon Bronson was born in Flushing, Queens, New York,[4] the son of an Albanian Muslim father[5] and a Jewish New Yorker mother (wiki)
Judaism and Islam are not races ..he is still a white(caucasian) ginger guy..
Killer Mike and El-P flows are just insane man, RTJ are one of the best rap duos in the game today and that’s facts🔥🔥🙏🏼
Legend has it that this song enhanced Black Panther, not the other way around
i must say marvel has amazing taste in music
only in their trailers lol. their soundtracks are the worst.
not consistently, but overall they don't put much effort into. Some, like Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and a few others have had good soundtracks.
Priyanker Rao What about Guardians of the Galaxy though???
they have marvel hip hop covers I copped it
Who are 'Marvel'? The people who make trailers don't make the movie soundtracks, and vice versa
Thank you Black Panther. I'll be searching for their songs and listen to it. This song is lit! 🔥
RTJ is best some of the best rap I've found recently. Years to catch up on
One of the best rap duos ever
Yo, appreciated Black Panther. This is some good shit.
I know. But can I say that I love your Deadpool profile pic. Where did you find it?
better than other hyped marvel heroes. daredevil, punisher, black panther are the best
Ashutosh Biswas Punisher and Wolverine are my two favorite Marvel guys.
