I absolutely loved this show as a kid, and recorded every episode on VHS. So a few years ago I was cleaning out my storage locker and found the tapes and an old VCR. In a fit of nostalgia, I decided to watch them and I thought I was gonna bust my teeth out of my head from my jaw tightening because of how cringey it was. 🤣
I like how the color palette has changed to be lighter, more pastel, and with more saturation -- to reflect the game's new color palette. That said... yeah, this one is rough. It coincides with the drop in quality in Captain N episodes as well; I think they used different animators.
This may be the weakest out of the three cartoons but genuinely this is still way better than anything that passes as children's entertainment in the modern day, esspecially online.

Him and Oogtar didn’t really bicker that much, they were usually partners in crime for the most part, arguments weren’t common. The songs were another bit that I really enjoyed too. As for the humor, given that I was a child, everything landed pretty solid for me. I always really liked the Mario SFX as well, it felt really cheesy, cartoony, and just true to the franchise. I wish it had more time to flesh itself out, cause it was a staple of my childhood.
What other games? I’m trying to hone in what I talk about, mostly Mario and vr at this point, but I’m open to Nintendo stuff and maybe a licensed game on occasion.

She was a tad snarky and kind of a badass. But "Super Mario World's" version of her? At best, she's whatever. At worst? She might as well have been renamed "Princess Karen".
The only reason this show managed to become popular and get memed to death was because of it airing along the other Mario and Sonic cartoons on POP in the 2000’s. Uh, Ooptar is Scrappy-Doo I guess idk. (This show is so weird and yet I love it so much.)

The issue with translating Mario to any kind of narrative is that the games’ charm is that they have no plot; when you try to shoehorn them into episodes with a thematic premise it’s always going to be lame. Having said that, similar shows never had the protagonists brokering illegal arms deals or running a murderous drugs cartel. The writers missed a trick.
Honestly, this is probably just a 'me' thing but this show made me think: "Do Yoshi's grow into larger dinosaurs?" considering the other big dinosaurs in other episodes.
Not to mention that in almost every scene of princess toadstool in super Mario world her arms are small and short and her head is kinda large and her skin is so pale
I disagree with Yoshi being annoying for no reason. Princess Peach/toadstool literally says “He’s just a baby he doesn’t know any better”. Besides, he isn’t as bad later in the series with a bit of personal growth and a little education(later episodes he does go to school)
To be honest, i like the show (likely because of nostalgia), but there are two things i want to bring up: I'm not going to argue with the points you made (whether it's Yoshi or Oogtar, the music, the humor or anything else, honestly, just say what you will about them), but statement at 7:30 "the pacing's slow" is not true. In fact, it is the exact opposite issue: The pacing feels too quick in a way the show feels like it has to rush through scenes that it almost barely has any time to build upon them. Anyways, for King Koopa... Earlier in the video, you're trying to paint him as the "good" guy, but you gotta remember that in King Scoopa Koopa, he implied that he was going to cook the inhabitants once they were turned into chickens, leading me to believe that you're not really paying attention to what's actually going on, or you're just misunderstanding the episode (s).
i never found yoshi annoying in this show i found him adorable and oogter wasnt that bad in my opinion tho oogter and yoshi bickering was kinda annoying but other then that i love this cartoon and was sad it was cancled
