In my humble opinion as a Missourian, I think if any character fits us the most would probably be Sora. Kansas City is sometimes referred to as the "Heart of America' based on our location (hence Kingdom Hearts) Our NFL team's fanbase is called "Chiefs' Kingdom", and our MLB team is the 'Royals' (Royalty -> Kings & Queens -> hence Kingdoms) Missouri's state animal is the Mule, which mules are notoriously Stubborn/Adamant. Much like how the Smash community was adamant on trying to get Sora into the game for YEARS And of course, Walt Disney was raised in Marceline, MO- and eventually started his artistic Career in KC

I think Olimar is a better fit for Rhode Island. Rhode Island is the smallest state, and Olimar is canonically the smallest Mash fighter. Edit: Also Wolf would be a good pick for Minnesota, as it has the largest wolf population in the lower 48. Heck, the name of the basketball team here IS the Timberwolves!

Just got done watching this after watching the new Pokémon version you posted of this same “challenge”. Both were enjoyable watches, and I also have some nominations of my own that weren’t listed here: Ohio: I only just recently learned how big and important industrialism and manufacturing is in the state, so I feel like someone like R.O.B. or Mega Man would fit well here. Washington (the state): Seattle is home to both the Space Needle and the Seahawks NFL team, so Falco fits incredibly well here on both fronts. Puerto Rico: The people here have wanted Puerto Rico to be recognized as a state for an extremely long time now, and Smash fans really want certain characters like Waluigi or Geno to be on the roster. Either of these classic Mario characters could fit well here. New Jersey: The legend of the Jersey Devil is as terrifying as it is fascinating, and while there’s not any characters in Smash that resemble depictions of the creature, I feel like Ridley comes the closest. California: This state has a lot of things, but one of the more overlooked ones in my opinion is the California Gold Rush, and I can absolutely Steve filling in this niche as an expert mining enthusiast. They also tend to be hated by people who don’t support either of them- in this way, California is to many Americans as Steve is to the Smash community.
