11. When the teacher says "Pick a partner", you just sit there and hope some one picks you, while you see other kids picking partners immediately
I relate. Thoe I get up and walk around aimlessly untill someone tells me to join the group or the teacher tells everyone I still am not part of a group and finds a group for me to join.
That why you need atleast
1 friend
then end up standing there with the teacher
I would always ask the teacher to put me in a group because I was too shy to approach anyone myself
Same i usually just get stuck with whoever is left. Or no ome at all so they force we in a group of people and make me want to rip my hair out.
Introverts are just people who know when to shut up. Silence is golden.
@Miracle is me It is not by choice.

The struggle is real!
Sometimes my social battery dies while I'm the one talking
Now I don't feel so bad 😅
Yep. Just dies mid-sentence. You know, it’s funny how it
It's true. It's like a switch was flipped and I suddenly just want to run...run away and go hide in my closet and recharge haha!
My social battery is exactly 2 hours, then I'm a zombie XD
We 💢💫 used to call it crumping...as in I'm crumping gotta go now...or let's speak before I crump
social battery is so real, forced myself to go to a school reunion, spent longer than I expected, drinks kept me social for a while, but then I got asked if I wanted to go to a nightclub and I was like internally “dude, I already spent hours at this bar, don’t ask too much of me” lol
I went to the mandatory office Christmas party and was "social". Then I got invited along on a bar hop. Yeah, no
Bro, my social battery was out for a whole week once : I had a trip to Greece with my highschool and with like 30 other students, and I didn't know anyone except for two people that were in my class but that I didn't talk to or didn't like. So I forced myself to socialize a little, during this whole 1 week trip, for exemple when I had to share a hotel room with 2 other people that I didn't know, or when we had to eat in the restaurant. The only time I had alone during this trip was like, 20 minutes once when I was the only one wanting to stay alone in my hotel room while the others visited the city. Plus I was tired and a little sick even before the trip, so my condition after the trip was even worse, but I was quite relieved when I was finally back home 😅
This is so true. People think you are stuck up because you don't want to socialize, yet they don't realize that doing so makes us uncomfortable.
Yes
The most annoying one is when people get personally offended when you don't want to talk. It's not you man, it's everyone.

I had another student go off on me in a group therapy simulation in grad school. He thought I was sitting there judging everyone.
Anyone got a good reply for that because it pisses me off that people who go out of their way to be rude are heroes but if I simply want to hold back on talking until I am comfortable to do so, then I'm rude and unfriendly?
Don’t you hate when you’re eating in your car and someone parks next you

The social battery thing is so absolutely accurate it hurts. It hits out of nowhere and I need to go be alone before anyone notices. I can't do sleepovers. I get tired of company after a few hours, man. Let me sleep in my own four walls.
YES this is so relatable, people always ask me if I'm okay because I look sad but it's honestly just my normal face lol
I'm always so relieved with zero regret when a social event is cancelled.
Its just I always think maybe it was my chance to socialize but then I'm like nahhhhh
I don’t use it as a chance to socialise
I’m fine with like...In my school there’s events where you play games and eat food
I don’t talk to people, if I see my classmates I just say hi and ignore conversation and just eat and play games-
My school ended no last tour because of covid, and i 100% regret
A had a master degree group project with several cancelations and that was such a relief.
I didnt want to go anyway but I'm going to act like I did so it's not awkward.
When a plan is made:
I don't want to go but If I say No they are going to ask questions and I would like to avoid that maybe I'll just not show up, wait but then their going to ask more questions nevermind I'll go.

When you do eventually say something it feels like no one has the same reaction to you as if someone else said the exact same thing and ignore you or awkwardly move on so you just give up speaking entirely.
The worst thing is when you go to a place you like (for me it is my local stable, I have to talk barely to anyone and I can hang out with animals which gives me a lot of comfort) and there is that hiperenergetic person. They drain your social battery at a triple speed and after a while of talking to them (because of course they will start small talk, they always do) you just want to return to your cave, learn how to photosyntesize and never come out again.
Everyone: damn you are so quiet you need to talk more
Me: says something
Everyone: ignores
Me: never talking again
Frrr
I got so tired of that happening that one time when everyone carried on talking over me i just repeated myself incrementally louder and louder until i basically yelled it at them, but not in an aggressive way. Their reactions were hilarious, they were half confused half annoyed with me shouting and half amused by the ridiculousness of it. I said to them “I didn’t think anyone heard me so I thought I would turn my volume up”
I just talk when i must
Extroverts are just annoying

Fun thing about being an introvert is that when you get mad and say something everybody gets so SHOCKED and offended 🤣🤣
Ikr lol 😂
This one time my friend poured the wrong chemical during an experiment and messed it up and we had to start over, and when I got mad at her she was so shocked 😂
Now she basically tells all of our friends that I get really scary when I’m mad and uses that as an example lol
Yup.
It's like you're not allowed your one moment of justified anger. But everyone else does it to you all the time 😒
That is so incredibly true. People spout off and rant all the time. You have one rare moment of public anger and everyone looks at you like you just ran over their dog.
Or when you repeatedly ask someone not to do something , and after like the 6th time you get annoyed, and they have the nerve to ask why you're angry
Oh man, I relate to point 10 so hard. Going all the way to a shop and seeing it full of people so you just loiter outside awkwardly for a bit but give up in the end because it's just too much.
11. Finally you have the feelings to hang out with one of your friends but they say 'only us? Why don't you invite others?' and then you feel like going home, cancel every plan you've made, feeling betrayed but that's okay you've been dealing with it all this time and continue living your life as usual

Being an introvert is also being overly cautious around your friends, because you never feel like they care about what you have to say. You begin saying something, they look bored, you panick and shorten whatever you were saying to the max. And when you find friends who really listen, you take up all their time speaking and it's hard to stop, because you're so happy.
so true

The most annoying thing is when somebody asks, "why are you so quiet?"
What am I supposed to say to that...?
"You don't interest me enough to be spoken to regularly."
Something along those lines.
@@ExcuseMyWeebRudeness thats savage but thanks
usually I just say I'm a shy person but its gets repetitive when they ask you the same question over and over and you keep having to come up with new answers 😤
Me: why are you so loud?
"Because conversation is an inconvenience to my quietness."
Had to turn off the sound in my phone because whenever it rang, I was close to a panick attack. Not sure if it's me being an introvert or my anxiety, but the silence makes me happy.
ughhhh yes!! also when you have to act fake disappointing/excited when a social event is canceled/planned, respectively. I hate lying and faking feelings in situations like that.
Not all introverts are shy, introverts are people who get energy from being alone
Giorgia B - That’s how I am. I’m not necessarily shy. I just energize when alone or when I’m with those very close to me in my home. I get grouchy if I spend too much time with people in general. They annoy me, especially if they are mean to me and expect not to be to them in return (hypocrites), shallow, or willfully stupid (not if they are mentally challenged though for whatever reason).
facts, being shy and an introvert are two different things, but it's possible to be both.
I'm both introverted and shy 😂
Exactly, I've built strong self-confidence and am not afraid to speak and express. I actually enjoy to entertain others and definitely I am not invisible to people even if I wanted to. But after some social time I need to recharge alone and I rather spend time on my own or with one close person than go to party or shopping or whenever I have to deal with people.
@@BeardedBarley1 I relate to this so much! If I act mean to a person who was mean to me, ppl just outright say, I knew you were a snake! So, she being mean to me is nothing but if a quiet person does that in return, they are snake! Where's the logic!!
For students:
1. Saying “here” during attendance
2. Trying to figure out how to get a pencil without asking
3. Thinking through every outcome of having the teacher call you
4. Searching the lunch line for friends
5. Speaking so quietly the teacher asks you to speak up
6. Waiting for friends in between classes
I can’t think of 4 more
7. Hold your pee in class because you don't want the attention
8. Being late to class is your worst nightmare
9. You have received several awards for being the quietest in class
10. Having a teacher tell you that you need to ask more questions but you never have questions you want to ask
11. Having to present in front of the whole class without breaking eye contact
12. Losing participation points because you’re too afraid to speak
13. Always being the last one to get with a partner because you’re too scared to get up and ask somebody to partner up
14. Having classmates telling you to talk and smile more
16. Teachers forget your in their class and barely acknowledge your existence.
(Happened to me too many times. I just want to be seen!!!😭)
Wanting to be asked to answer a question because you know the answer but at the same time hoping the teacher will ask someone else to answer
I just experienced number 8 the other day with friends who ironically were trying to convince me I was an extrovert. Apparently they though I looked angry but my "social battery" had just died. 😂 I actually became exhausted and started falling asleep. Then they left and I woke up and did two hours of work 😂 😂.
The thing is that I’m an extroverted introvert…. And also an empath….. so I get happy for people and sad for people but it’s SO EXHAUSTING being around people!!
Me, don't get invited to hang out
Me: Gets offended
Me, actually gets invited to hang out
Also me: Finds every excuse available to not go LMAO

So relatable 😂
accurate
That sounds more like social insecurity than introversion. It implies that you want to join in, get angry when your excluded, but then experience fear or aversion when you do have the opportunity. Unlike the many of the assertions in this video introversion is more about how a person recharges their energy reserves. For the extrovert, the dopamin that accompanies social interactions is a strong motivator. Introverts are more sensitive to acetylcholine, a reward endorphin closely tied to memory. Introvert can find the same levels of happiness alone that an extrovert requires company to achieve.
But with your post you have hit upon a truth that is often times not understood. And that is the fact that there is more to a person's personality than simply introversion and extroversion. We read that, and think, well of course. But it is amazing how often we need to be reminded of the obvious. In the MBTI model of personality makeup, four factors are looked at that predict very well how a person might behave and feel. That system has been expanded to a fifth factor that deals with how actively a person takes action upon their choices. In each of these factors there are, on a sliding scale, those who tend either more cerebral or more carnal. And by carnal I simply mean social up to and including the more carnal of activities.
And so with the addition of this fifth element we can see that there are indeed not only sixteen but rather thirty two distinct personality manifestations. Every one of these manifestations save for just one, has some factor that tends toward the carnal. And thus we can now see clearly why many if not most introverts both want to engage socially but simultaneously shy away from what part of their personality is driving them toward. And it tells us the role personality plays in the propagation of our species. Thirty one out of thirty two distinct personality types and tend toward, at least in part, the carnal end of the spectrum.
The one personality type that is not at all tended toward the carnal, is the INTJ-A. The takeaway here is, that is can be enormously helpful to know and understand your particular personality type. When you do this, it's much easier to find strategies that will help you better deal with conflicts such as the one you describe. Either by allowing you to overcome your tendency toward finding a way out of things your invited to. Or by simply embracing the chance for solitude without regret or resentment.

When you decide to actually comment on a conversation but get talked over, then you think no one heard you but then that one person asks what you said and you know it’s really stupid but tell them anyway and then it’s just awkward silence.....just me? Ok.
By the time someone asks me to say it again...i forget what i said,it happens all the time so my usual reponse is:nvm (but it's pronounced that way)

Nope. All the time. Sometimes when I speak in a conversation that's a relevant to the conversation they look at me with this look like they'd rather have someone else speak even though what they were saying was just as boring but somehow people liked it more. I don't speak in school too much anymore. It's happened too much. Even if it's just answering a question.

“Having your small, triple A-sized social battery DIE.” Oh my god comedy gold.
I had to practice excitement to better fit into social standards. You have to really work on the tone and pitch of your voice, it's where the secret lies. For every voice it will be different, but a slight rising of pitch will help. Also, I practiced a lot in the mirror with face expressions and that's what I find works for me: a faint smile will look more genuine than a broad smile, but don't go too Monalisa so people don't think it's a sarcastic smile, curve your lips a bit and show some teeth (maybe a third to half depending on their size, what looks more natural); widen your eyes a bit, like you're a bit surprised, but not full on shock, you don't want the whites of your eyes showing above or under your eyes when you do that or you might look terrified, and you can try to very slightly rise your eyebrows with it so it feels more natural, maybe half a pinky finger or less. To accompany, if you're in close range you can: shake their hand if it's a professional setting, like someone telling you they got a promotion, but keep your hand firm, don't squeeze their hand too tight and move it twice with conviction; give about two pats in the shoulder if it's someone you're not very close too, like a friend of a friend, as it's not a very personal contact; if it's a friend, give three pats in the opposite shoulder, in a side hug way; if you're up to it, give then a hug; if you're not up for contact, just move your hand a bit or put one arm over the other (folded, not crossed) and pat your own arm close to the elbow, fold and unfold your arms, it looks more natural than it sounds. A safe choice in contact is also to read what other people are saying. Use for reference an extrovert that has a similar relationship than you to that person (family, friend, acquaintance, coworker) and follow their lead, so if they shake hands, do it too, and so on. So this is my tutorial on how to look naturally excited, I hope this might help with social anxiety if anyone feels like trying. It is a lot of work in the beginning, but it comes naturally once you get used to it.
„Why are you so shy?“
-extroverted friend
You know you're introverted when you can't even socialize with your own family.
Right. Sometimes family is the worst.
bruh
Family just talks about other people's life and stories and gossips and it is so boring.
Can't even tell them i got an A on an exam like a month ago...
My sister was the first extrovert to take me under her wing.
ok maybe it's just me, but when I am in a social situation and my "battery" runs out, I start to dissociate. It's like I'm not even there, I cant focus, I cant concentrate, I'm super tired, and I can't hear what people are saying? Anyone else went through this or am I just a crazy person?
When my battery runs out either the wall or my phone becomes really interesting lol so I can relate
One time at a little cousins house I was playing with them, then I go into what seemed like a semi-unconscious state. Then I emerge from it, probably at least 5 minutes latter. I don’t know what happened then, I’m unsure of how much time passed, and someone was probably trying to talk to me. Overall it was a fun experience that took me away from the socialness of it all and gave time to recharge
Yes! Me too!
Like I'm still looking at them and sometimes even nodding and still knowing when to say things like "that's great" or "wow" - but I have no idea what they are talking about anymore.
I feel like a jerk, but I just can't focus anymore.
You’re not crazy. I can totally relate!!
Same! I usually excuse myself to avoid being disrespectful, though.
Yea the battery thing is completely on point. 👍🏿
Number 5 really struck me like I’m happy but that is all I can express
I fondly remember kids on the school bus turning around and asking me
*Kid:* Why don't you talk?
*Me:* (Removes headphones) Because I have nothing to say.
*Kid:*
*Me:*
*Kid:* Turns around awkwardly

Hi 👋
Cantwasait
i agree why talk. when you don't have nothing to say. Especially : if you are a infj we just don't talk to just be talking .when we don't have nothing to talk about are you a ( infj )
Just a question 😉 you can answer if you like .
@@darleenbrown3906 Exactly. Why waste my breath and talk about nothing?! 🤣
^this^ a thousand times ^this^
Yes! This! A million times!! Every family gathering I get some version of “Oh Sami you talk too much, haha” (when, of course, I have not said a single word) Why add verbal non-important pollution to the already crowd infested chaotic air?
I absolutely hate when people tell me something they're excited about and they expect me to look happy for them, which I am, but when I express it I sound so fake omg
Omg, yes! No one believes it when I express things like that. I can understand why though, listening to the words that come out of my mouth I can hear how stilted and unnatural they sound and I'm thinking, "that's not what I meant!"
People are constantly accusing me of being sarcastic 😭
DUDE IKR
I can relate to that.
people bringing their babies into work is a big one... I have to fake like I'm amazed, actually I'm thinking wow 7 billion people on planet, hardly an accomplishment
I once won an iPad at a school assembly and so I smiled and was inwardly stoked. Afterwards everybody kept asking me if I was actually excited because it was probably the most boring win they had ever seen anywhere.
You describe exactly what I feel and think. It’s so good to see your videos.
You should add the "Oh hey, you can actually speak, laugh, and smile!"
Me: ....😶
People are so rude with their quiet-shaming!
@@wesrm1 some of them, yea i agree
wesrm1 I’m quite but when someone pisses me off especially at school 🤪

Rebecca A All of them. If I want to say something, I will. Who are they to comment?
The feeling of belonging I got after watching this one... Oh man, this was so on point, I can't even😏
fr tho 😂😂
you didn't have to call me out like that.
The low social battery is hilarious 😂😂
“ArE yOu oKaY?” “YoU sHOuLD tALk/SmILE MoRE?”
uuuuuggggggghhhhhh
"Cheer up"
Oh my god...all the time !!
Literally
I finally gave up and started giving out fake up smiles
It was so tiring that I had to get out of the socials groups every few hours to charge myself up
Talk less, smile more, don't let them know what your against or what your for.
If you get the reference you are know my favorite person

Fools who run their mouths off wind up dead.
"if you are sad, don't be sad"
-pewdiepie
maybe not all introverts are "quiet & shy"
I mean, they are mostly like that at first but when you've known them for a long time, you know like having some of them as friends can really get noisy and fun
Some introverts I know just hates crowds and too much attention but are really great companions
all introverts are the same, we might look dead inside, or sad, but we're just not comfortable with you, if I ever will get comfortable with you, I'll open my mouth and will never shout it, I'm really annoying person when I get comfortable with someone, but I don't like crowds, and I'm pretty introvert lol
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yep, I feel like I'm one of those
@ironic 🙄😂😂😂😂
@ironic so true
I love RUclips and caller ID. The one reminds me why to be social and the other reminds me why not.
Always love watching your videos, FJ. As an ISFJ, I can totally relate to these 10 struggles. I especially like the one about getting depressed when you finish a book. 🙂
What about actually mentioning your fabulous idea, getting no response from the group until someone else rewords what you just said! "Wow, Timmy, that's a fabulous idea. How'd ya ever come up with it?"
Too true
OMG I'm not the only one experiencing that 🤷😱
Every freaking time!
thats so true, I sometimes feel like a ghost when I suddenly have something cool to say and nobody reacts to it, even tho they totally heard it.
@@iTzProLike1 why does that even happen?like I'm present right there, and no reaction at all.
“Nevermind, it was full of people...”
No truer words have been spoken.
i hate going to crowded restaurants where you have to wait even 30 minutes to just order. Waste of time.
That thing about the battery suddenly being on empty is almost mystical...or physiological, I'm not sure which. It's just so shockingly real. You're going great, congratulating yourself inwardly on how social you're being, seeming to keep up with the flow in a way that's "so not like me, so gregarious, so relational, so---" bzzzzzzzzzzzzz, empty. That's it, over and out. There's no me here anymore. Hope you all enjoyed that guy, he's gone. Somebody steer this shell to the exit, please. Or just call 911 to rush me home. Come to think of it, that must be the true psychological basis to the Cinderella story: at the stroke of midnight it's DONE. Get out while you can before the carriage is a pumpkin and you're stranded for a ride home.
This is amazing when I realise there are so many of us. Most of my circle of influence aren't introverted or close or seem to be aware of introversion so I always have a hard time being with them, but I got my most beloved friend, my imaginations, thoughts about everything and anything!!
When people say: "Oh you are so lucky. You always so calm, nothing really annoys you." lol...
@Karen same
When in reality your palm are sweating or you have stomach ache from anxiety but just don't show it
In your brain, you actually scream for help and hope you can gtfo here quickly.
actually me: trying not to have a nervous breakdown, feeling sick and having a headache bc of anxiety :')
to those people: "I was fine until you talked your words at me!" (lol)
“I thought you're a big jerk who's just too good for all of us but turns out, you're just quiet” LOL! I can relate so hard to that it's not even funny.
I can relate to this too...
I did not like that
My mom says I think I'm too good for everyone cause I don't want to talk that much..... Yippee I'm living the best life 😐
I get the opposite. New friends will tell me about how I’m not as innocent as I look😂

I received a Kindle as a gift 10 years ago and it's still the best gift I have ever received! Always a next book to read!
LITERALLY your videos are so spot on😂👏
When someone starts crying and everyone is expecting you to cheer them up is the worst one of all.
This made me do that weird, full body crindge thing, uuugh
Like I want to support you but I don't know howwwwww
Also the same for when someone gets hurt
We can't help you with that sorry😭
I just stand there awkwardly until someone comes help lol ik that most people will think idc about that person, I do but I actually don't know how to help them lmao
If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me “Are you okay?” when I’ve just been *sitting,* I’d have amassed enough money to buy at least half of all the shit I want.
If I had a dollar everytime my family said " Why won't you go talk to someone" I'd be richer than the entire country of America.
If I had a dollar for everytime someone asked me are you depressed I would have like 1 or 2 dollars
Katie Riddle I meant like the people who live in America combined. We are in debt I think
If I had a dollar for every time that happened to me, I’d be able to pay for my entire fucking college tuition.
Me:..... Which are "snacks" to eat while watching YT the entire day (at weekends)
When someone gives you a gift ..and you like it but they just expect you to be so excited and happy that they actually think you didn't like the gift
My mom got a promotion at work and she was super excited and stuff and I was too, but I didn’t look happy. She says I have no soul
