In this video I demonstrate how I make a live sales call to a wonderful company. Spoke to the hiring manager who was very helpful and knowledgeable. I know working for the amazing company I work with I would be able to find her the next suitable candidate. I always take the consultative approach and just listen to clients to see if I can help them out with our services rather than tell them how it is done.

Hi I tried this way of contacting businesses today and got 1 lead!!!! Most of them said email and I got a call back for this week to so it works!!! My workplace my manager was saying ring them and do reference checks with cvs of candidates who worked there before ? Have u ever tried this?
Also u need to train me how to open my own cuz I can put more time in to it for weekends and evenings to get it up and running if u can send me your email or whatever is best for u?
I wouldn't do it that way its so old school. I prefer to call direct and speak rather than waste time.

I dont want to be too negative here, but this call was handed over on a platter. She provided all information without having to ask her anything.
9 times out of 10, this wouldnt happen.
Also a point to note is the UK market is happier to talk out of sheer politeness. Anyone on other countries it wont be as open calls like this. Also depending on what you are recruiting for how open people will be.
I dont think there was mistakes on the recruiters side, couple of small pointsnid change but that wasnt really representing every day cold calls.

I'm not trying to be a dick here btw I'm just playing devils advocate as many markets and many other kinds of recruitment such as tech recruitment, people arent so forth coming.
100% but to the untrained eye it seems that way. A £1 billion turnover company just doesn't give anybody who calls the business like I got.
Was it right time? My approach? How I sounded?
And FYI the UK is the hardest market to cold call into.

Business development calls are the easier part of 360 recruitment. Before you make the dial (if you are aware of the client's current requirements - which is the LEAST you should be aware of) then you are already starting on a point of need/pain/implication before they even pick up the phone. With candidates, assuming you are targeting the best 10% of the marketplace, you are in 95% of cases starting from ground zero and have to work your way to even finding out enough about the candidate's situation to even begin to solve it. If you can't successfully do BD, you will never have the tools to be a successful 360 recruiter.
The 360 model died years ago.

@@kadzmoney so you prefer 180 instead of the full 360? To each their own? Note that i’m active in sales for about 10 years and thinking about switching to recruitment.
@@Defrynzo Make the jump recruitment is where the month is. Well I work for myself but if I started to hire I would split the teams. Most successful hyper growth businesses have that model. The 360 model doesn't work as well.

I can see that most of your calls are answered and you could get through to the CP to many of them. Here in Canada, we spend the whole time calling and could reach no one but the call center or company directory which mostly turn us to another "leave a message" prompt or turn us down!
Email has the highest conversions. Or find direct call lines. You can pay for direct cell numbers.

That was a bit of an easy call to be fair. She was willing to talk. There wasn’t any real objections

Kadz Money I’m not saying it wasn’t a good call. Point is she was absolutely willing to talk and you had no objections. This is just an example of a call going well if anything.
@@hazza1054 There was a few objections however he passively overcame them, (We go through a portal) is one of them, Kadz said, I have an existing pool of candidates which means you won't be waiting 2 weeks for a C.V., This is one of the objections he overcomes. I always say Fear and Skill ar hand in hand. High fear, low skill. High skill, low fear. He is clearly very skilled and passively and politely shut down a few objections.
You clearly are skilled Kirk and have done these calls so you see what others dont.

Not too sure about telling the gatekeeper you're a recruiter personally unless asked - I'd leave that out from GK as it closes the call easily.
You will find you get put through more if you are honest. Unless it is their first day on the job... why on earth would I call and speak to the HR Manager
@@kadzmoney Do you find you run into more objections from the GK when you say you're a recruiter? I sometimes get the PSL/ not interested from GK's before even getting to the decision-maker
It is hard to say really. Some are just robots repeating the same "psl" but i usually say im not looking to mske an application currently, or i am glad you have a psl, it means you take recruitment seriously
@@kadzmoney Yeah fair usually work outside the PSL on niche roles that the usual PSL will struggle to fill
Yeah modlst the time. PSL are the worst thing a company can do snd often restricts their recruitment process
Boss, I caught on the call that she wanted a retention time for the candidate. What is the normal retention time for a candidate and what was agreed for the 2x roles you filled for them?
Some questions;
1) Why did you tell the gatekeeper that you are a recruiter before connecting through?
2) Why did you go so low at 12%?

2) 12% is better than them saying "i have to check and get back to you". I closed there and there.

@@jb2ps459 I dont wanna undermine kadz but Optimus search have trainee positions on indeed, i applied and the process was easy. Great company based in central london so if you're in london then its worth a look. Minimal experience required as their training is really good.

Lou perhaps you speak so much that you don’t realise there is skill in listening and in having patience to overcome objections however big or small.. this line of work is all based off giving people what they need, and you won’t know what they need unless you listen.
