One of the best demonstration videos I’ve ever seen...... your superior Skills speak for themselves! Thank you so much for sharing you’re extensive knowledge......✌️😎❣️
Excellent! You make it look so easy… Only started painting this week and your paintings on instagram have been a major inspiration. Keep up the epic content Clare. Ash 👏👏👏
Hi Steve thanks for your thoughts! Shadows, reflections & reflected light is a mine field!! But appreciate you passing on what you heard 👍🎨best wishes, Clare
An excellent exercise in showing how values are far more important than colors...curious...do you ever tint your canvases before sketching? I find it's easier to attack a 'non-white' canvas and usually tint mine with burnt sienna first...Great video!
Thanks for your comment Charlie, I do sometimes tint my boards depends on the subject. The white helps the colours shine but the tint help them harmonise! Pleased you like the video :-)
Hi Caroline, I use pure Turpentine to start the painting - then thicker paint with little or no turps, which shows the brush strokes more and makes the paint richer and more lush! 😊Thank you for asking!
@@carolinegreene372 Yes you are right! I used to use Sansodor but found the consistency was too watery. Turpentine matches the oils better by being thicker and 'oilier'. The down side is it smells!! I do often have the window open to let out the fumes 😊
Soft music, loose but well-considered strokes and such an impressive finish ! Simply great ! Thank you !
Glad you enjoyed it Pradeep! 🙏👩🏻🎨❤️
Just lovely to see how you simplified such a busy subject.
Glad you liked it Edna! 😍
Love it! Who doesn’t love boats in a painting? Beautiful!
So true Debra! ⛵️🛶🚤😊

Thank you Ash!! That's so nice to hear let me know how you get on in your painting. And if there's any videos you like to me make...Best wishes, Clare
So relaxing! 😌 music is so right for the painting. Fascinating how you build up the water. Love it 😍
Thank you CHB, I enjoy finding the right music to suit the painting and video. Best, Clare 🙂
A beautiful painting 😍
Thank you Mel :-)
I did hear that the shadow colour was a darker version of what is casting the shadow rather than what it is casting it upon, if that makes sense..

Thank You.
You're welcome
Marvelous... It would be more better tutorial if u could show the palette along with the painting
Thank you! It was one of our first efforts to video me painting. I think you will find if you watch others we do show the palette! 🎨👩🏻🎨❤️

@@ClareBowenArtist Keep up the great work!
Boa noite Clare Bowen tudo bem;que pincel é esse que você usou...abraços
Have you used medium in this one (and if so, what do you like to use?) or is it just pure oil paint?
Hi Caroline, I use pure Turpentine to start the painting - then thicker paint with little or no turps, which shows the brush strokes more and makes the paint richer and more lush! 😊Thank you for asking!
@@ClareBowenArtist thx! And do you like turps rather than something like Sansodor or Zest-It because it’s kind of oilier and thicker?
@@carolinegreene372 Yes you are right! I used to use Sansodor but found the consistency was too watery. Turpentine matches the oils better by being thicker and 'oilier'. The down side is it smells!! I do often have the window open to let out the fumes 😊
@@ClareBowenArtist interesting! I love the smell though I know it’s not very good for us (not that I sniff it deliberately…)
@@carolinegreene372 Lol! Made me smile, People do comment on the smell as they walk into my studio - that its one they like! So you are not alone... x
Do you also paint outside ? by a coast or fishing port ?
Hi Daniel I do - have a look at some of my other videos they are set outside en plein air. Best wishes Clare
