I’ve been painting for over 20 years but am still learning from your videos. I love the way you take the mystery out of oil painting and make it accessible to everyone. What a gorgeous painting you did. ❤
Hi Robert. Love the way you use the photo then make the picture what you want. To bring the rocs forward to my eye works really well. Enjoyed your process for the wet sand. Good job. Thank you.Michael in Aus
Trust me most people can’t do what you just did. Maybe a few came to your workshop and did that well but the fact that they came to the workshop might indicate that they have good artistic instincts already even though they haven’t had art lessons
I guess Bob Ross has been mentioned already. Different style in most every way, same spirit. I paint weird things, it’s the techniques that grab me. Holding the brush that way because it’s loose but also easier to film is strangely inspiring, from the mundane to interesting art.
Just getting all supplies together for oil painting can seem overwhelming. However once that is done. A video like this one, is so helpful, it helps us know how to start. Thank you so much and all the best.
It helps if you have the space , to dedicate to a painting area . I am working it . Painting soothes my Soul , so I will find a space , Hope you do to . Blessed be 🎨
Saludos, me gustó tu canal. Mi pregunta es: sobre que material estas pintando? Es madera MDF o es lienzo con base color ocre?? Gracias!! Saludos desde México.
This is a mdf panel. I have primed with gesso and toned with a mix of burnt umber and white. I also regularly paint on stretched canvas. Thanks for watching 😀
@@OilPaintingwithRobertMee thank you for your response, I am learning oíl painting right now, I m 60 years old, and actually Im retired, so I decided to do a lot of things I couldnt before!!!. ( sorry my english is not as good as I wish!!)
I become confused when painting landscapes and seascape, because we're told to work from dark to light (except in watercolor), but also instructed to put in the sky colors first, which are always lighter than the land or sea (normally). sometimes when i paint the sky first, the closer shapes look pasted onto it. So what to do
I'm learning a lot with your videos but too far to getting good.i still working in a seascape and having hard time with the crashing waves in the shore.i wish you can help me

Hi Robert thank you for tutorials dol you leave the painting as it is or add more details later
Normally, that's it. Larger paintings I may do in a few sittings.
Love this! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love you are using a very limited pallet. Not ten reds, and blues. Watchers take note?
Keeping it simple often works well!
That's beautiful
Thanks 😊

I wouldn't worry about that rule too much. Soft edges will help add connection.
Bellissimo colori stupendi.
Thank you 😊

Is your brush a filbert or a flat?
Beautiful.
I used a flat quite a bit on this one.
I heard you say flat brush. Thank you.
Thanks for watching. I use a variety of brushes a lot of the time.
What is this canvas?
On a wooden panel.
Good video. Good lesson. Good advice. Less is more. Less detail.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your feedback 😊
