It's a good thing that he was free to wear it because it exposes him for what he is. The community doesn't need to feel sorry for him after this. Let them say and wear what they want. We have to see them for what they are and decide from there.

I'm a parent so I understand these parents pain, but if you understand the psychology of these psychopaths ..they actually get great pleasure from hearing the pain that they caused. These impact statements just gives these monsters satisfaction...I wouldn't even bother addressing them. Nikolas Cruz in his video he made minutes before the shooting said he can't wait to see and hear the pain of the parents and loved ones. Why isn't access to guns restricted to ordinary citizens in this country? In Europe, kids don't shoot up in schools because their fathers don't have arsenals of weapons in their basements. There's something wrong when you can't legally purchase alcohol under the age of 21, but you have no problem to buy an AR-15. Americans' belief that owning a gun is one of their basic rights has its roots in the beginnings of the country, and no one realized that we are in the 21st century and it is completely wrong. In May 2022, the powerful NRA lobby (National Rifle Association) won a lowering of the age to purchase this type of weapon - from 21 to 18 years.

Poor Parenting and their Government. In our culture, parents typically wont stop supporting us until finishing college or even after that. Theyll do it as long as they can do it, so we can turnback to them whenever we want to without any pressure, so in turn they will expect help whenever they become older.
Judging by most ages of these assholes, its safe to say its the pressure of being left alone out their parent's care. its usually these losers 15-18 who have basically have nothing going with their lives nearing the age where there parents expect them to live their own lives. So with a mentality of having nothing to lose, they do these kinda shit. And as for their government fault, kids can basically get guns everywhere if they look hard enough, because freedom.

I was a student at the SFISD middle school on May 18th, 2018. At 740am, the school went on lockdown, and about half an hour later, the news of an active gunman at the high school had been spread like wildfire.
Now, I have graduated from that exact high school, and still, ITS BEEN 6 ENTIRE YEARS, and the families of the victims, as well as our entire community, have not received deserved justice. He can not claim "mental illness" to a premeditated act that he pursued and then took 10 innocent lives without any remorseful reasoning behind it.
I lost a friend 6 years ago.. my classmate lost his older sister 6 years ago.. my neighbor lost her son 6 years ago.
That monster is well over "sane enough" to stand trial and receive his rightful punishment. And until he gets the rest of his pathetic life behind bars, the city of Santa Fe and all surrounding areas will not rest peacefully. Until he himself is ripped from his very life among humankind, we will not be tamed of our infuriating hatred.

Cruz narrowly avoided the death penalty by just one juror. But don't think he's going to have it easy in prison.
The Judge who sentenced him also invoked the "Son of Sam Law" on him. This means that not only is he not allowed to make money off of his story, but any money he receives on his books will be garnished to pay his restitution he owes, so he won't be able to buy anything off of the commissary, and will have to rely on the meager rations the prison gives him. He's going to be looking like Gollum when he dies.
Also prison inmates typically don't like school shooters and will do everything they can to make his life hell. And before anyone brings up protective custody, in the state of Florida they don't actually have to grant you that.

Play them back and administrate punishments. Assume the first time they don't have an evidence. The parties are called into the office and the affair is investigated. Now those perpetrators will go under the microscope here on after. If you know moving forward your actions will be monitored and future incidents will have consequences, you'll be much less likely to commit them. Second, schools can use these as teaching moments to edify the bullies to become a better version of themselves.

My dad was the fire captain who had to keep James Holmes apartments evacuated until the bomb squad showed up. Me and my best friend and I were supposed to be at the movie, but my mom didn't want me to go. There were a ton of people from my town there, and it still haunts us.

I have mental illness myself. When I was 27, I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder type 2, Borderline Personality disorder, Social Anxiety disorder, Attention Deficit disorder, and PTSD from childhood trauma. I have to take medication daily if I want to live somewhat of a normal life. I've never owned a firearm, and even if I wasn't mentally ill, I would never even dream of owning one because they scare the shit outta me. I am a dangerous weapon by myself if I were ignorant enough to quit taking my meds and get to rock bottom. And for the life of me, medication or not, I am fully aware of the decisions I choose to make and killing people just because I have mental illness is not an option, never has been, and never will be unless my life is in danger and I have no other choice. So don't sit there and blame the school shooter's actions on a fucking mental illness!! Murder is murder. Mental or not. Even completely sane people can snap, so quit bullshitting the system by making the victimizer the victim, when that is so far from the truth.

Ill never understand how lawyers can sit there with a poker face and try to argue somehow that their serial killer clients are innocent. It defies all logic and is a monstrous thing to do to the survivors and family.

As someone who was bullied growing up, I totally understand many of these, especially because I contemplated the idea on doing something similar to all those who bullied me back then, but to this day I do not know what stopped me and deterred me from doing it. Maybe the voice of intuition or something else? I don’t know, but in the end I scrapped the idea. I fully comprehend being on the border of doing such event. To my defense, I was meant to do it only to those who bullied me, no other innocent or unrelated people would not be affected in any way.
I know these situations are divisive to me given the bottom rock I hit decades ago, but I still can't condone these actions. Even after all these years, I am not sure if I did the right thing or not by abandoning the idea, the amount of things I had to endure and the impact on my mental health back then was staggering, to say the least. And I thought back then that I definitely needed to pay them back for all that suffering somehow.

@@JimAndersson-sv8vk Peace, bro. Even after all these years, I still struggle to identify what made me drop the idea. I literally had everything ready the night before the day I decided to do it, but suddenly... I just decided not to move forward with that plan.
As you said: 'Shit people will always exist,' but you don't think that in the heat of the moment, and that is especially dangerous for those who really go through with the plan and innocent people get involved. I have zero sympathy for bullies; my concern goes more towards people who had nothing to do with the kid or teenager getting bullied.

no just stop promoting it whatsoever and stop brainwashing kids to want fame. That's what these people seek. They are insane and should not exist with these families. HOW DO YOU DEFEND YOUR KID AFTER THAT? That should tell you something about the parents in these cases...

Bullying can literally not cause this to happen. You have to be one hell of a loser to kill innocent and unrelated victims thanks to you being a pushover as a kid. The solution to all of this is to fight back. Well, TJ wouldn’t have been able to. A sack of bones and acne can’t harm anyone without a gun, can it? Either way, this is not even close to being able to justify it.
