      @@samuelwoods164honestly it wouldn’t surprise me. Police Dpt. are probably the most corrupt government agencies in the US by far. This guy is lucky he wasn’t “suicided” like so many others and instead got sent to jail.They have full control over evidence pertaining to city matters, very good connections to lawyers and judges (sometimes even members of the jury) on most given cases and they have plenty of opportunity and incentive to take “kickbacks” from illegal dealings so 🤷.
      Plus with the level of force they can enact (even legally) its very easy for them to scare people into not going against them.
      It’s much harder for there to be this level of corruption over states/ the entire country because there are constantly a ton of eyes on them.

    I had a police officer pull me over for suspected drunken driving. I had on high heels and couldn’t perform the test, so I took off my shoes and did the test on the side of road while stepping on glass. He handcuffed me without reading me my rights and told me he could take me home or take me to jail. Of course I chose home. He put me in the back of the squad car and drove me to my apartment which had a doorman. I told my doorman that he was taking me to my door and he’ll be right back down. He finally took the cuffs off at my door. He was really going to try to get me in my apartment with cuffs on. I’ll never trust a cop again. Btw, I don’t drink or do drugs. Shooting someone who is running away because they allegedly stole something the officer didn't witness? People are too quick to take away people's right to due process when they look different than them and decide their ALLEGED crimes are worth more than their lives. Wow, ridiculous. Plus how come the judge did not question why both officer did not have their body cam/recorder on them or use that to show what conversation the driver and both the cops had with each other? From what I know, that device has to be on at all times especially when confronting or approaching someone. This goes to prove that they know exactly what they were going to do already that’s why they didn’t have their device on at the time.

    How can you mistake being in the wrong apartment when the apartment number is ON THE DOOR? She had to be either drunk or on some substance to blurr her vision. She even looks like shes on something at court.

    • @nellioclark7571
      @nellioclark7571 Месяц назад +5

      So much of that didn't make sense to me. As a cop, you're supposed to be observant of your surroundings and be calm and cool under pressure, right?
      Let's forgive the mistake of not seeing the number on the door. Maybe she was tired, right? But you didn't recognize your neighbor? Let's forgive that one too, heat of the moment, blah blah blah, maybe they didn't really know each other, blah blah blah.
      But this is where your instincts and perception isn't supposed to fail you. Your home has familiar things in it and no 2 people's homes are the same, even in the case of the common structure of an apartment. The welcome mat you chose or chose not to put outside. The pictures on the wall when you walk in. You know where your couches and tvs are supposed to be. The color of said couch. All of these are things your eyes should catch, especially when you see a stranger in supposedly a familiar setting.
      She had the time to pull her gun. It sounds like words were exchanged. And as a cop, you're telling me you didn't look around? Not even to make sure he was the only "robber" if that's what she thought he was. What robber sits down and gets comfortable? "Oh, let me just check my email before I commence operation -everything mine-." None of this makes any sense. The whole story just sounds crazy

      Ya I don’t understand this one at all. Was the door unlocked? Does she normally leave her own door unlocked? Does the neighbor usually leave his door unlocked? I just don’t understand how a person can walk into someone else’s apartment and not immediately recognize that they’re in the wrong place. The second she opened the door she should’ve realized that it wasn’t her home and should’ve just apologized and left, you know like a normal person would. There’s gotta be more to this story. She was either messed up on something or she did this on purpose and lied about the story.

      To me it seemed genuine. She was a cop who entered what she thought was her home, found someone in it, and when he moved towards her, she felt threatened, so she took action. Its pretty difficult to fake emotions like that, and you'd have to be a master manipulater to pull it off. I think she got a fair sentence.

    The Amber Guyger case was the most repentative person who i have ever seen, after a murder inquiry. She was genuinely sorry for what She had done. And her remorse continued way into the court proceedings. And to see the victim's family giving her a hug and the judge was the greatest act of compassion and made me cry watching. 😭

      It is far fetched but much stranger thongs have happened. I've walked up to a car and tried to open it before realizing it's not my car. Not only that but although my car was same make, model, year, and color it wasn't even identical because I had a sticker on the rear side window. And apartments can be literally copy and pasted looking. I don't know what happened but unless they had some kind of previous relationship, whether it's a love affair or a dispute, it's very unlikely she randomly wanted to shoot the guy. There's no motive in that case.... it is possible that she was getting off work and sleepy and walked right into the next door and quickly pulled her gun out and shot. But like I said, that's a rough case. I hope the family can heal.

    One of Amber Guyger's neighbors testified to doing the same thing she did, without the shooting part of course. He entered what he thought was his apartment and didn't realize he was in the wrong one until he had walked all the way to the back room and came across the lady that lived there. So I believe she thought she was in her place. The shooting tho, was so bad.
