We are often told that the Imperium of Man can never achieve a true victory, instead doomed to fight against the dying light - but this isn't actually the case.

Since you made Seth‘s video about warp entities that aren’t aligned with chaos. I’d like to propose a video idea of my own. About what remains of and references to ‘our’ era and earlier things from earth in the time of 40K. That’s something I’ve been interested in for a long time.
PS: Majorkill please tell me if you see this comment. So I know the idea is in your head.
To be fair to the Sister of Silence, a warp entity claiming to be your friend from the future who says everyone’s going to betray you and tries to give thr emperor secret knowledge is the most Tzeench Demon thing I can think of.
I've found this a bit derpy tho.
First the Sister that projected through time should have known better than to try to bargain audience with Big E.
The second, and more derpy, is that she might have at least given her account to the rest of the sisters but was killed by one of the sisters, who turned out, to be a follower of Imperial Cult (believing Big E was a God) ... I mean ffs sisters of all should know better.
Exactly! If I was her I'd do the exact same thing, because how is it even possible for your fellow blank to be a warp entity? That just screams Titsnitchian fuckery
Yep, agree. Starting from a position of "I don't trust you!" probably would pay off more often than not.
If it wasn't telling the truth: good
If it WAS telling the truth: oh well, gg
@@Shirocco7 this would have made sense IF she did not kill the novice. If it is a deamon, no point in killing a novice. She was just nuts.
Majorkill is the kind of guy who will stop a bank robbery so he could explain why Erebus should have been aborted to the robbers
What a Chad
He's the type of guy to kidnap a person and lock them in the basement so he can explain Why Girlyman is getting some of that Eldarussy
That makes absolutely no sense
But you’re completely right.
“Before you start a 3 v 50 with the cops outside, let me tell you why Erebus _the sentient tumor_ should’ve been aborted”
- Majorkill
Why is this so damn funny!!!
My favorite time travel story in 40k was when an ork warboss went back in time and killed his past self in order to dual wield his favorite gun.
And knowing 40k Orks it’s somehow didn’t erase him from existence.
Yes.
Imagine tricking your previous self, just to get your gun and you agreeing with getting shot in the face by yourself for that
@@thetriple7-7-78 It did not, but his subordinates got so confused by what happened that they did not do anything to the galaxy.
@@robertnelson9599 Could you elaborate on that? Did they just go catatonic?
@@emigdiovargas8960 Gritzgutz accidentally went back in time in the warp and exited right before they went into the warp. He was a known klepto and killed himself to get a second dakka that was his favorite so he could have two. Orcs don’t know or understand that it would cause a time paradox so it didn’t happen to him and everything was okay. Plus he got extra double crews and double ships for his waaarrrgghh!!!
I like to imagine if the Sister actually got in front of the Big E and told him everything, he would just be like “Yeah, I know already”
Knowing practically most stories literary wise that would’ve obviously written him like that you need conflict and maybe he predicted in some way something worse showing up if he didn’t go personally
Funny thing is, since Necron Tech works in direct opposite to the Warp, the Psyker Pylon quixos build would have probably just expanded the Eye...
For sure
Sounds like Tzeench had his hands in that one
You're right. Good intentions but, ultimately would've made things worse
Most likely it would have just blown up a planet.
The guy was high on Chaos goodstuff, for sure the plan if completed would had not achieved the desired results, everyone that claims to use Chaos instead of being used by it is a fool.
Probably just another prank of the God of Change
Didn't the Space Wolves almost do this by nearly forming successor chapters that could have guarded the Eye of Terror but Magnus attacked Fenris and ruined that project?
That wouldn't really kill Chaos just confine them to the Eye like Cadia did
@@kawaiiqueen303 Even then, probably wouldnt
A few more chapters of SW isnt a big deal
Honestly, the Imperium should have made a Founding solely to form a defensive ring around the Eye of Terror.
@@adrienwatson2179 They were going to try to aim for Ultramarines and Imperial Fists numbers in successor chapters.
@@DarkApostleNoek Yup
That was the initial plan actually RIGHT after the cleansing as well.
Even Guilliman was like "Hell yeah" thinking about a ring of space wolves around the eye.
Didnt work out either, even though they have Primaris succesors now, it atill wont make a big difference on the setting
The Big E's Webway plan would have also turned off the _"here we are, dinnertime"_ beacon for the Tyranids.
And hence *no Nids* as well as Chaos being starved to death.
It would have left the Orks as the only real Galaxy level threat - as long as the Necrons played nice.
Tyranids would have still invade the milky way though. Just at a much later time.
@@jonathanathor117 and get squashed . Imagine all the legions custodes and emperor against the nids .
@@licensed_beheader wait how does the tyranid hive mind work? Is it like the brood from marvel or the xenomorph where there's a distinct queen that controls them or is the hive mind akin to a mega size superorganism where each tyranid is like a cell?
Edit: the brood hive mind isn't completely physical like the xenomorph.
@@licensed_beheader oh so the tyranids are more like the brood? Ok the only real options to fight the tyranids would be shrink rays and erasure based weapons. Or anti matter.
The imperium must know.
@@jonathanathor117 as far as i know there is no single tyranid leader known, so i guess they are all cells in one organism.
But they have some nids, that take the Orders of the hive mind and give These Orders to the lesser nid warriors, maybe these communication nids are some kind of nervs
Video idea: How would each Primarch react and rule the imperium, if they were the one to return first instead of Guilliman

I really wish we can see a true ending for the setting. We need to have a victory against Chaos or something that just gives us a finale
They could end it and then reset it again a few thousands years in the future?
If you have a thing for fanfictions I can reccomend you the Imperium Ascemdant.

2:40 : "Inquisitor Quicksauce" is cannon, thank you major
How did each legion reacted to being split up.
It depends on individual opinion, some accepted it or even thought it was a good idea, others thought it was stupid or a form of betrayal by Guilliman.
Mostly was ill-received even by the ones without a Primarch to stand up to G-Man, maybe even worse among them since besides losing their father they also would be losing, in a way, a lot of their brothers; probably the only which did it without much trouble was the White Scars.
Doubt we'll ever see an end to 40K tbh. Don't have the figures but I would imagine its incredibly profitable and by far their most recognized and loved brand, good news is 40K won't get the debacle that was the end times. Bad news is that all the stupid stuff that people would love to forget about will likely stay. Unless they make the very ballsy decision to do either sweeping retcons (some things could really use that tbh) or a reboot of some sort. But even then thats a huge risk because you could easily lose tons of customers and fans. So much like the Imperium, its very much trending towards an eternal stalemate.
That being said I would like to see an ending, but I'm really scared they wouldn't be able to do such an amazing setting justice, especially with the ah lets just say "variation" in the quality of the work over the years. Is it even possible to write a satisfactory ending to something as legendary as 40K? Like how do you even write an ending for some of the characters like the Primarchs and the God-Emperor? Personally I don't think its possible. Maybe that's a fun idea for a video MK, "how I would end the 40K universe"?
This right here is a legitimate observation
One of the biggest tropes in every Warhammer setting is a faction getting in it's own way of total victory. Especially Chaos and Ork in-fighting. It's kinda great.
Huh, I kinda hope we get a "Who is the most powerful chaos legion?" Video now. I mean number has to be the Death Guard right? Nurgle is a surprisingly organized force of chaos and I'm pretty sure the Death Guard are the only legion that didn't break up after the Heresy aside from the Emperor's Children who are you busy doing coke to be powerful.
I'd say the most powerful is either the Death Guard or the Black Legion, after them possibly the World Eaters, with Angron's return. Does the Red Corsairs count? They're supposed to be Legion-sized.
Abbadon throwing a Blackstone Fortress at Cadia was the ultimate rage quit right as The Imperium was about to achieve a total victory. Abby the rage quitter!
As much as I dislike the Aba-daba-do myself, I feel like this repetition of him rage-quitting is a coping mechanism. Sure, he wasted a very VERY precious asset, but it was the fastest solution to destroying Admech/Necron collab and open up the Eye of Terror more. A waste of a planet killer, but it doomed many more in turn.
@@silver1340 One of Abbadon's better moves in my eyes. Sure,he sacrificed a Blackstone Fortress,an incredibly asset but not only did it destroy Cadia and kill an untold number of people but it lead to the creation of the great rift. A pretty big win for Chaos

I think the emperor still would have faced Horus Irregardless of whether he knew back up was coming . Otherwise horus would likely have retreated and become a big problem for the imperium forever .
Either way he still was the only one around who could square up to chaos blessed horus and win . All of the traitors remaining even the demon primarchs could be obliterated even without the emperor touching them .

If i renember correctly Horus was dying from a wound Leman Rus inflicted upon him with a spear made by Emperor's own psychic might so well, he could potentially become so swoll on Chaos koolaid that there would be no caring about it, or Daemon or what ever, but it seemed to be pretty lethal from what i heard Majorkill say.
Couldn't they just blow the ship up? Like, didn't they lower their void shields so that the emperor could teleport in?
@@olegoleg258 the fleet was already fucked
We are also talking about the vengefull spirit
"A true victory for the good guys in 40k is impossible"
Indeed there are no good guys
Except the Imperium. Everyone forgets that Imperium are supposed to be bad in most stories.
Chaos Fanboys: *"REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"*
Majorkill: "I think we provoked the locals."
It's not the "Eldar webway". The Eldar just "inherited" it from the old ones and added their own infrastructure.
It’s weird there isn’t a weapon like the one in Mass Effect that killed all sentient life in the galaxy….multiple times. Yet Warhammer is so futuristic it breaks physics literally and yet the narrative still relying on suspension of disbelief

I’ve had a similar thought. Like look at all the terms or phrases they use that are ancient even by our own standards. “Crossing the Rubicon” is a big one. It’s not a very often used phrase even today, you telling me that in 40,000 years they’re using it and in such a prominent context? Get outta heeeere
What about types of melee weapons used by astartes
Tzeentch: "Heh, 'almost?'...how quaint. We're not done playing until I say we are."
Also Tzeentch: "All part of my plan. Or is it? Who knows? I don't... or do I?
tzeentch is the most powerful bcs they can see the future, but what if being able to see the future is also their own weakness when the future they saw is that they lost to the imperium or to the other chaos god?
Video idea: what if there was a good imperial secessionist faction.
Majorkill.... I'd love to see a video about Inquisitor Czevak. If you haven't read Atlas Infernal yet, i can't recommend it highly enough. I consider it to be the most hardcore, action packed book in all of 40k.
i hope one day there is an ending where the imperium get a total victory it feels fitting
Chaos really isn't that big a threat when compared to the Necrons if they could just get their shit together.
@Carl Petersson I am no expert on them but afaik they are just too fragmented and jealous of each other to work together. Technically the silent king should be their undisputed leader but even he can't seem to fully control them. Also there are still too many Tomb worlds in stasis.
@Carl Petersson In theory they could, but won't because of principles. What does that mean? Well the only way to reach full war in heaven era lockstep unity for the Necrons would be the Command Protocols, held by The Silent King. He disabled his access to them (and no one else can use them) because being a slave master sickened him. In theory if things really hit the fan in The Silent King's opinion, he could bring those back online, but because he's actually a pretty moral character, that isn't going to happen. (It helps that the only truly massive threat which might justify that is the Tyranids, who don't actually threaten the Necrons as a species.)
That being said: If any Necron Dynasty really started to snowball in getting the others in line, it would be well within their power to lock Chaos out of entire sections of the galaxy. (As in: 'We built this mini-pylon network to bridge the Cicatrix Maledictem as a diplomatic gesture to the Imperium, because we'd like free passage to hit this other dynasty without having to deal with your ships too.' levels of not a big deal.)
If only the Man-Emperor of Mankind keep poking the Four Chaos Gods with His Massive Flaming Golden Sword into total oblivion.
Christian Dauz when seeing this video: *angry Chaos fanboi noises*
I think one of the other themes of 40k is "you are your own worst enemy."
GW should do a story on the actual resolution of the 40k setting … and lock it in a vault in a folder marked _"only if we go bankrupt"_ just in case GW ever falls over (maybe because Elon buys it?).
I hate it when a TV series gets cancelled on a cliffhanger.
Did you see how they ended warhammer fantasy? I'll pass
@@stefvanroey8191 honestly i enjoyed the end times. It's everything that came after was a disaster
@@krzysztof4114 some parts were enjoyable but hot damn it was an rushed mess imo. Whats especially frustrating is that a lot of it could have worked if it wasnt so rushed (like their take on the elven civil war)
Agatha Christie did something similar, writing a "final" Hercule Poirot novel during WWII that she kept in a bank vault or... Something. To be published if she died in the Blitz.
If I'm remembering the story right, it eventually was published as the last Poirot novel later on.
I said it once, I'll say it again. There is absolutely no way to satisfyingly end the setting in the span of a single edition.

Which custodes are better? The generation before the horus heresy? Or the current 41st millennium custodes?
Harlequins.
Regarding the Astral claws, why couldn't they disguise their legion building by pumping out sucessor chapters that just happen to working on a ton of coop missions?
They probably could have gotten away with legion building if they were discrete and had 1-2 successful campaigns under their belt. It was probably the aggressive hoarding of resources that pissed the imperium off.
Eisenhorn was being helped by a demon of Slaneesh at the time that he had bound in a body. One may wonder who was helping chaos. Eisenhorn or Quixos.

As a life long woman, I can confirm that manscaping is essential guys, and with the Christmas season coming, why not give your trunk a Christmas tree design?
Basically the greatest downfall of humanity was when the emperor decided to make his sons. Had he never done that, and instead took things slower and made every choice himself instead of delegating things to be dealt with by the primarchs at times, much of the shit show they are dealing with now never would have happened. I mean really, if he never made the primarchs there would almost certainly be NO entity in the galaxy on the same power level as the emperor. Not to mention his goal of no religion would also have been achieved due to him staying in play instead of being struck down like he was, which means no imperial cult getting in the way of shit either. It may have taken longer to do, but everything achieved with the help of the primarchs would have probably been done in the timespan of the 10k years after his fall in the first place, meaning a net positive overall. The creation of the primarchs was the single most horrible choice the emperor ever made, and it essentially doomed humanity.
Totally misheard "Noble bright" at the end as "Nurgle Bright" and I don't know what that looks like, but now I want a novel about it.

Adding magical stuff into worlds is how I came up with Black Iron, which is supposed to be the antithesis of adamantim. I mean I'm pretty sure that if the Mechanicus didn't have a major ban on new tech and weren't total fanatics, the Imperium could potentially create another webway. Isn't the whole reason why they were slowly losing was because they weren't progressing anywhere due to the stagnation.
It would be hard for the Mechanicus to do that, given the warp based nature of those gates. The Admech doesn't do much with psykers in general (and for good reason) and while we know pure tech can do the job in theory, I'm willing to bet C'Tan were involved in developing the Dolmen Gates the Necrons use to get in there. We'd need a revision of the Imperium's treatment of psykers along with a more open Mechanicus to really make it work.
Emperor knew what would happen. Its by design
