Good points - especially regarding pricing as a filter. It's too tempting to under-price one's services to try to break into the market but by doing so make the service appear less valuable to quality customers. "Overpriced" is such a trigger word for me but I try to see past that. Some people spray it around for anything that costs more than a fiver but to me it means they're not the target demographic because they can't see the value. ...Either that or they're an utter cheapskate who will probably be the most demanding customer ever and still claim on the 100% money back guarantee even though they did get what they paid for!
My problem with implementing stuff like this is I personally hate it. When I get to a landing page designed to overcome these objections, I ignore it. I’ve already decided on the product’s potential value for me, so I scroll to the bottom without reading to learn how much it costs and when the offer goes away. As a consumer, I just don’t care about any of this (as it’s usually presented) so I have a hard time considering its usefulness when making my own offers.
It's really spot on - if you have a physical (or digital product). Curious what the same marketing technique is when you're promoting a person to build a fan base. I've been trying to turn that one around in my mind now because it feels inherently so much different than the psychology of why people buy products.
Funnily enough the trust thing can require you to be available and busy with email/phone contact time. The key there though is identifying the resources you can put in place to address the frequent questions… while increasing your price points to cover that time cost. It can also become part of your USP (unique selling point). Thanks for the pointers Ed.
Love your content as always Ed - but I do wonder how my Gaming channel could sell a product or service? I mainly make information/help/guide type videos. Love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for the binge wave! I’m all about making some money. Just trying to figure out what to sell. Any tips on finding out what your niche needs such as just asking on the Community tab or asking ChatGPT? Thanks for any advice and love the content!!
Fun fact: I would love to get help from you, but I'm am one of those scared off by the price 🤷🏻♀ Non the less... love your content, and maybe one day I'll be able to afford you.
It sould be nice if there was a guide on how to setup a product. Like how to set up a webstore How to make sure the product gets to the people it needs to How to run the buisness day to day
Ed, there isn't anything I don't love about your videos... ...except (you saw that coming didn't you?) Well here it is: stock photos/videos. I'd much rather see your face than see the stock. Please, for the love of editing, b-roll and retention, can you remove the stock and replace it with...just you 😊 Simple is better when it's such high quality.
Give us some dang chapters please! I hate when educational content holds information hostage like this....give us chapters so we can find the information we need.
This is so helpful and timely...now I'm off to watch the video from your outro! Love how I always fall down an insanely helpful rabbit hole 🐇🐰 see what you did there...👀 😁 EDIT: I've already seen it and saved it. Feeling smug that I'm all up to date and guilty because I need to stop watching 'how to' videos and actually put these brilliant tips into action. Just going to watch some vids on avoiding procrastination...😂
As someone with a few decades in business, I consider you to have some really worthwhile stuff to say. Since watching a handful of your videos a few weeks back, I started selling my PDF templates rather than giving them away for FREE in return for a subscription to my hobby website. The site still gets the same number of subscribers (about 40 a week) and I now make £40 a week from automatically selling 5 x PDF downloads a week that I used to give away for free. And I have now broken the 'pay me for shit' cherry of a proportion of my subscribers. Thank you.
Well worth doing . I used to write and support mods for web bulletin boards/forums where the user demands were stupidly high and fairly unappreciated. When I switched to a minimum contribution model I found users changed massively. The freeloaders turned out to be the bulk of rudest, most demanding and thankless types. But the contributors said thankyou and were way more appreciative. Was a seriously eye opening lesson in perceived value starting with the content creator. Hope it continues to build positively for you.
This video comes at a perfect time as I'm working on a product that I think is a perfect fit for a good percentage of my audience. Great tips Ed. Also, I can't pinpoint what you've changed but I really like this set. The image quality, the lighting, the color grade, the frame of the shot. Looks super dialed.
Hi Ed, I have a quick question. When I first created this channel, I promoted it on my Turkish channel with 90.000+ subscribers and some subscribers came from there and even though I believe I make good videos/thumbnails and so on now, my videos have low performance on this channel and are not recommended. Do you think I should start a new channel?
Hey Ed! Great video. I'm really enjoying the contrast between Film Booth and Creator Booth. Creator Booth has a such a great different angle that I hadn't considered before.
I really enjoyed this video, Ed! Now, as an artist who truthfully only has 1 thing to sell (prints may be available soon) how should I approach things like price especially? Great work!
Toilet entertainment. Perfect timing Great video - the money part is spot on. The more i raise my prices at my physical business the busier i get and typically the less “baby sitting” i have to do Maybe this was the kick in the ass i needed to raise the price on my digital items as well. I’m not even sure why hut I’ve been dragging my feet on doing it for a while.
I generally enjoy your videos but this one is really a disappointment. I hope we can all move towards using ethical, non manipulative business practices. Enough with the false urgency & scarcity! We all know the fake webinar countdown timer isn’t real. It’s just dishonest & shady. How can you talk about building trust in the same video where you suggest using manipulation? We can all do better. ❤
I didnt tell people to use any shady tactics here at all, or scammy countdown timers, no false scarcity either, in fact I made a point to say dont do fake things . everything I talk about is ethical.
@creator-booth I saw the talk against scummy behavior. Though it's pretty common for people to read or listen to the punchy bits them go past the qualifiers. To deal with this, heavy emphasis needs added.

That's freaking BRILLIANT!
Ok
Thank you, so many people focus on just views, but that isn't the game!

Definitely valid. I’m an impulsive buyer. I completely understand
I feel the exact same way. If I want it, I scroll to the bottom and ignore the copywriting.
I watch the embedded video
I know Ed did a video on marketing funnels. I can't remember what it's called. Anyone have a dig-out for me?
Different people react differently. The goal is to cover the majority of the people's behaviors in a market.
Pure gold this video Ed, congrats and thanks for keeping creating such an amazing valuable content for creators 👏
🔥🔥🔥 love this! Thanks for making such high quality and helpful videos!! 🙏

Such a helpful and eye-opening video. Thanks Ed! 🙂

Remembering me on some big points from Alex Hormozi. Thank you for summarizing in such a great way!
One of you guys’ best 👏👏👏 Thank you, I’ll be returning to this one over and over until I nail all of the points 😅
I don’t know what I should sell besides merch and possiblyyy courses :/
Love your content as always Ed - but I do wonder how my Gaming channel could sell a product or service? I mainly make information/help/guide type videos. Love to hear your thoughts!
Whoops, just ended the year long sale that I had on the t-shirts I sell.

What if my product is entertainment based, such as a fiction book or artwork?
It sould be nice if there was a guide on how to setup a product.
Like how to set up a webstore
How to make sure the product gets to the people it needs to
How to run the buisness day to day
In my experience, its better to upload once a day than multiple times a day, only one video will get views
Ah yes the DFS spring summer autumn winter sale cycle
This line helps your SEO. Your welcome. Keep up the good work, stay out of dark alleyways and separate your whites from bright colours before washing.

I learned so much in this video! Please do more marketing videos 😢❤❤
You spelled the caption AUDIENCE wrong. 😂
It says AUDEINCE.
What a noob! 😅 Just kidding.

Haha, the DFS joke was the funniest thing I've heard all day 🤣! Keep it up Ed, I love this 2nd channel :)
Thank you

This is GREAT but quick question. Why unlisted? Would it not work with public?
Love the video, thanks Ed! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Yoo this was awesome as always!
Thanks Ed!
Hope you have a great day!

Thanks for sharing Eddie
I appreciate that you put this into a memorable acronym!
Ed you are a bad bad man
jk you're wonderful
Ed, you are hilarious.
Great insights!
Thanks Ed
Very helpful video as always ! hoping to put it into practice soon! Thanks

Hey Ed,
Thank you for the great video and inspiration!
Question: Is there a right way to do "low-income scholarships" for your premium products?
Hmmm im not sure on that, every time ive tried this is has backfired on me so I stopped doing them
Great video, as always!
Only issue is that now I cannot unread that "audeince" on minute 5:34 😱
I love you Ed
What if I dont do educational videos. what can I sell?
Ed, I can't stop thinking how you look like pewdiepie's cooler older brother 😄
Brilliant as always!
You're the best youtuber I've ever watched
Poor Ali...
I really enjoyed this video, Ed! Now, as an artist who truthfully only has 1 thing to sell (prints may be available soon) how should I approach things like price especially? Great work!
You are so talkative.
Toilet entertainment. Perfect timing
