You're absolutely right on the community tab, I've stopped doing it for a couple months and revenue just plummeted. I would do 1 post a day of a good deal and it would sell nicely. I hate doing it, but at the end of the day, we need to make money to be able to continue making videos. Ad revenue is ridiculous, no one can survive on that.

I never had any interest in watching Film Booth, as I thought I was getting enough "RUclips education" content from a few other creators I happened to find first.
And then THIS VIDEO comes across, after I watched your interview with the sponsorship guru. How do you only have 24k subs on this channel?? I took notes the entire time and can't begin to express how much it's helped me. And now I'm gonna go back and start watching Film Booth too, haha.

hey - I see that on my little channels (like the ones that have under 200) are now giving me the community tab! I am so glad that happened as I own a hobby store that sells plastic models and comic books and such!

I've been struggling to pull my existing channel out of the doldrums for a couple years now and honestly, it's not been working very well. I want to rebrand, but I have not been able to envision what that would look like. I built a channel to over 200k subs; I know I can do better than I am right now, but I'm just...stuck. Ugh.

I use it now when i'm on break from filming... But, funny bit...
In my channel, for about 22 months I was always recommending Hostinger as a Hosting service, even though I wasn't a Hostinger affiliate.
Last year in late November, I took a break from uploading till Jan 7th. 2 days after I took my break, Hostinger reached out to me to become an affiliate along with a 10% discount code for viewers.
I posted about that in the community tab.
Being watched and actually "Read" by only true fans of the channel, that community post got less than 100 likes, and made me about 700$ in the first 2 days. Cause the people who read it- knew I am using this service myself for YEARS.
Also, gonna take your advice from the video i watched before clicking on this one (I do segways at the end too) about the trailer... over 2 years on RUclips and still haven't done it LOL

The community board actually gets activated much earlier if you verify your account in youtube studio. I managed to get my 2 newest channels up and ready with community posts within a week ^^

There have to be cases where there's more to RUclips than meets the eye. Here's just one example. The guy from The Office made a brand new channel and uploaded an episode. It got 3 million views in one day. From everything I am told about how RUclips works, that should not have been possible. Even if the thing was the greatest piece of film in human history, how does it go from 0 to 3M in 24 hours with no subscriber base?
No thats possible, ive seen lots of channels release a video and it do well straigt away.
Youre told its no possible becuse its hard. you really need to be able to make amazing videos to do it and most people new to RUclips cant

Hi Ed, commenting to help re your post @-) You dont need 500 subs for the community board now. On a channel I launched in November I had it within a week or so of my first upload. They just want to see watch history or you to verify yourself with them. Im sure youll see that yourself with this channel.

On average only 15% of website visitors watch videos you feature on your site. Best practice is to convert any important messages from your video into images and text!
Yea you need both, but that stats based on a general audience not RUclipsrs with fans who love watching them

One thing I wanted to do and don't ser anybody doing videos about it's sending freebies via email. For context, I have a fitness-nutrition chanel and I wrote a guide for everyone to get for free, right now I have the link to the google docs, but I want to be able to send them the product once they give me their email and signup to my newsletter, can you explain how to do that?
So you'll find a lot of email automation software will do that, you could also check out Koji app, they are very simple apps that are often free where you can do lock content behind an email wall
