Thanks for the comparisons Edd. Very good video as per usual. I actually bought the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 2 yesterday at a discount so I'm hoping it can do a similar job in this category too.
Je viens de recevoir aujourd’hui mes Superblast. Je les trouve tellement confortables. Plus doux que les speed 3. Parfait pour les longues courses. Merci
Edd this is bad, I had to order a new 50 shoe shoe rack today to accommodate my growing shoe family. The babies will be delivered soon ... Puma Deviate Nitro 2, Asics Superblast and Magic Speed 3 and Brooks Hyperion Max. There are some good sales here at the moment so I couldn't help myself. I'm constantly being told I only have 2 feet! Thanks for your reviews but I think you are enabling my shoe addiction. Haaa! Great comparison video once again.
My word! That’s a good haul incoming. Have some on running shoes to test soon plus a few others on the way. I try and move them on if I don’t get on with the shoes or have gotten some good content out of them thus far.
As I have mentioned previously, can’t find the deviate nitro here so picked up the Boston 12. Really like them because you don’t get lost is the squish of other shoes and the foot plant is a no nonsense trim feel without the big wide heal. Sold on them so far!
I found the Boston 12 harsh first few runs.. Felt bottom heavy... After about 20 Miles they became amazing . All the pieces fell together. The Puma Deviate Nitro 2 is the same weight as the Boston 12 but feels heavier and MUCH softer. Slow runs in the Puma Deviate Nitro 2 (easy) are killing my Achilles Tendon and low calf. No problem with easy run in the Boston 12. Superblast is AMAZING. A class above both shoes.. Only problem is that Superblast collect small stones running on gravel.. Superblast AMAZING at any pace except all out.. Speed 3 a disappointment if you had the Speed 2.. It's just mushy and to soft for a long run. However when travelling I take the Speed 3, it does everything OK. Nothing great..
Same trouble with me on puma deviate nitro 2. If it using for my easy pace, i got some problem with my achiles. But if i increase little pace from my usual easy pace can solve it. I think nitro elite formula on deviate 2 is more softness and compressive with nitro elite on deviate nitro elite. But i still love it.😊
That’s a great idea. I think it needs to cover the variety of courses though. Local to me are grass and trail type parkruns. Some others are faster pavement type ones.

Superblast is in a category of its own I think, there’s nothing like especially on long runs. I use the speed 3’s as my steady to tempo runs and use the superblast for middle to long runs in my rotation. Use other shoes for easy days and threshold/speed days. But I am debating on the Boston 12 or deviate nitro 2 to replace my speed 3’s though… might go with the 12’s

@@EDDBUDHi, thanks for your reply!
Owned both and Superblasts feel far better in my opinion. More responsive and faster for me.
Speed 3 and Superblast all the way... Both a Swiss Army Knifes! The Superblast is an amazing surprise from Asics this year!
Speed 3 is already discounted to around 110/120 Euro here in Germany and the Superblast already at 170. I hated what Adidas did to the Boston series after 9 and never going to return to that one :D Would love to hear your thoughts on the Ultrafly :D
Superblast has been the emerging super shoe
Boston 10 and 11 were bricks, the 12s aren’t!!
BOSTON 12 Or Takumi sen 9
Very different shoes. The sen is much lower profile and for me more a higher paced race shoe perhaps for the half distance downward. The Boston 12 more a trainer for me
Moral of the video: Get SuperBlast
Yes that’s pretty much it!
[My RUclips channel provides free coaching videos for runners] Thanks Edd, really enjoy your comparison videos. You sold me the Superblast today mate. Can't wait to pick it up. Really appreciate your insights.
It’s a top shoe
LOL half man, half shoe 😂
Couldn’t resist it!

Speed 3 = knee injuries waiting to happen. They collapse too quickly, no stability.
Yes they are very squashy. The v1/2 was a bit firmer.
One of the many issues I had with the Speed 3!
