    DN2 is goated.
    Built like a tank, soft enough for recovery runs, respnsive enough for tempo runs, comfortable and consistent enough for long runs.

    I recently got into running shoes, and regarding Puma and Adidas, tried the Velocity Nitro 3, Deviate Nitro 2, Boston 12, Takumi Sen 10 and Adios Pro 3 by doing sprints and jogs at different gears. The Velocity felt a bit too dead and weighty for my preferences, reminiscent of better EVA shoes of old. Still, it had outstanding grip, and cushioning and stability that are hard to complain about. The Deviate 2 was a natural- I immediately felt like they were a part of my feet with extra spring, and that I could do anything in them. The Boston 12 was the only pair which took some getting used to (only a minute of burning through different gears and striking positions sufficed though). It was light and somewhat responsive, so I was eventually tempted to perform some extreme agility movements with them- however, this led to the conclusion that they were not quite stable enough (I survived executing the moves, but felt as though the shoes would slip out of position and my ankles might give at several points). The Sen 10 were great performers, but firm and demanding (literally). They will only output what you put in and amplify it cumulatively, so be prepared to give your all. Still, they make it feel worthwhile, and they definitely felt nimbler and more stable than the Boston 12. The Pro 3 were in a league of their own. Comfortable, stable and so monstrously propulsive that merely walking in them felt downright wrong. In Harry Potter terms, running in the Velocity 3 is like flying in Ron's flying car, the Deviate 2 is like Harry's first flight with his Nimbus 2000, the Boston 12's like trying to ride Buckbeak, the Takumi Sen 10 like the serious (pun intended) Firebolt and the Pro 3 like getting a lift from Fawkes :D

      Agree I have Boston 12 and lots of criticism of the upper . It isn’t that bad. it just isn’t super cushioned so have to be a little careful when lacing but has caused no issues for me .Plastic mesh is light and speedy and does not absorb water in hot sweaty or rainy weather.

    If only Adidas made a Strung version of the Boston 12, it could well be the ultimate super trainer. The fact that the Boston 12 is available in a wide fit makes it my favourite super trainer that I've been able to try, although the Superblast is a very close second. Keep the comparison videos coming!

  • @alexkhan2000
    @alexkhan2000 Год назад +4

    I have both and they are currently my two favorite daily trainers. Also have the Speed 3, which I like but not as much as the Boston 12 or the DN2. For non-plated, I also have the Novablast 3, Mach 5, and Rebel v3 and amongst those, I lean towards the Rebel v3 although the Mach 5 is also a great all-round daily trainer.
    As for B12 vs DN2, the B12 is the more exciting, propulsive, and speedier shoe but the DN2 is really good at virtually anything you throw at it (including running on mild trails) and is more comfortable although not exceptional or outstanding at any one type of run. The upper, tongue, and lacing of the B12 aren't great but, once you fiddle with them and find the right balance between good lockdown and comfort, you don't even notice them and just end up enjoying the ride provided by the great midsole. I find them different and complementary.

    Thanks for the interesting comparison! Just a small comment: I can really recommend to stick to shoe size in length (CM) or US, which usally is fixed to CM. Both EU and UK vary. You have had the smaller shoe for the Adidas here. Apart of NB sticking to CM/US never failed me, while EU and UK can. In particular Puma is a bit weird here. Reebok has strange EU sizing, too but not sure about UK.

      Waterproof versions are often a lot warmer than the regular ones, so I prefer the regular ones as long as I can get away with it. Heavy rain and/or lots of water on the road = WTR. Light rain and damp roads = regular version. Don't know if it's any help, I make sure that I have a weatherized shoe for the winter months, so I have both.
