    Glad to hear you talking about the Adidas uppers. Even the good ones, like the Adios 8, require you to think about them and consider if your feet can handle them. Lace bite and the “no give” upper material they use are always things to be mindful of. Put this things in a bad Adidas upper, like the Adios Pro 3, and it’s downright lethal to your feet… especially in a marathon training block.

    I have both. The blast is best for faster paced long runs, I even used it on a flat 100 miler and they did above well. The Boston has more of that ground, confident foot strike feel that is a little less forgiving in my opinion on long runs. That being said they are both great shoes, but I believe the superblast is the superior here, other than durability where the Boston obviously has it beat. Superblast just allows you to stay fresh after those long workouts

    I happen to have both. To me the most noticeable difference is the stability. The superblast is a tad bit more stable due to it's wider platform. But in terms of "springiness" Boston is a bit more responsive perharps due to it's carbon rods. Superblast however is still as springy, but offers a little bit more cushioned feel (although in my opinion ffblast turbo and lightstrike is quite similar in terms of cushion feel).

  • @wordsovsean8905
    @wordsovsean8905 Год назад +2

    I haven't run in either, but tried both in store. Your comments on the upper reflect exactly what I experienced. I couldn't get a secure lockdown in the Boston. I don't like to to do the runners knot or whatever you want to call it as I don't like the pressure it creates. The Superblast upper was fine, but I felt I could possibly go down half a size. Did you have a full thumb width at the end? I find almost every ASICS shoe rubs on the side of my big toe. The Superblast is clearly bigger than most ASICS and I wonder if going down half a size will result in toe rub again. Both mid soles felt great to be honest. Regarding heel striking in the Superblast, I am also a heal striker and I feel the Superblast slaps down with no midfoot contact whereas the Boston rolls through better. However the heal/ankle collar in the Boston just kills it for me. It wasn't just heal slip, the cut around the ankle was also bothering me, rubbing on the underside of my ankle. I don't understand some of the choices made to shed weight lately. Padding on the sides of the heal, but nothing at the back. How much weight did that save? This is not just the Boston, in general there are some weird choices made with lack of padding tongues too. A lot is not needed, just a thin strip down the middle will often do the job. Anyway, this is already too long. Thanks for the comparison.

    Upper issues on the Boston sound a lot like my experience with the Adios Pro 3, which is that every run is preceded by several minutes of faffing around with the tongue, adjusting and then heel-locking the laces, which are then barely long enough to tie. I'm actually using the Pro for marathon training so this is a daily chore. Compare this to my Asics (Gel Nimbus) which just slide on and are good to go.
