I would say as a heavy runner I'm 250 lbs/ 113kg, I'm a cross training athlete coming from the Strongman/bodybuilding world, the Novablast 3 was it for me. It was the first shoe that allowed me to do a 7 mile run without feeling like someone took a baseball bat to my shins the next day. Just a warning though, it will spoil you in the fact other trainers will feel harsh if you run too consistent in these for long, Definitely trade off shoes so you can improve your times.

I've put about 60 miles on my superblast now. I got them for £167 off kellarsports. It's definitely a long run shoe for me with really good stability. It's a firm shoe but I would never think it was carbon plated like the reviewer. I find it suits cruising speeds more than all out 5k efforts. My elite v2 feel a lot faster in comparison. Its an enjoyable shoe to run in and I find I pick them up more than any other shoe ATM.

I agree! SB is my favorite long run shoe - it has a perfect mix of comfort, speed, and stability for a long run. I also find it to be incredibly versatile at all paces - it holds up really well against all speed shoes or max Cush shoes.

Great review and great you pointed out what most reviewers completely fail to mention about the NB3: that it's now just an easy-day shoe and has lost the versatility of the original. I feel like a lot of people who didn't have the first version don't understand why many of us who loved it for anything other than slow, medium miles find the 3 to be such a huge disappointment.

I still have my Novablast 1 after 400 miles. It has lost a bit of traction but AHAR+ in OG is still going strong unlike many of other shoes. It was a mistake to downgrade to AHAR only in v3. Plus, FF Blast+ seems to be softer but goes flatter in less miles. I do have a ton of bounce left in Novablast 1. So, while I really like the looks of v3, I will probably skip that version. I have enough daily trainers to go through anyway.
On the other hand, Superblast is probably a good shoe but at that price I would rather spend my money on a new pair of Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 (just $5 more in US)
Anyway, two shoes that I will not be spending money on. That will keep my wallet happy!

Asics NovaBlast was a total miss by Asics Marketing team. They thought it would be a big box sporting goods type shoe. They told all the running shops in my area (US South) not to carry it lol. We all of course were looking for something to compete with the Clifton so we loved it. NovaBlast 2 and 3 they obviously went after core runners for.

The most obvious difference to me between the outsoles on the shoes is that the rubber on the Superblast is black, where the NB3's is blue. I wouldn't choose them for a recovery run on tired legs. The novas (v3) are only really comfortable for me at slow easy pace and like Tom said in the review completely lack the versatility of the OG version. Like, you can have a long run shoe, a speed shoe, and a recovery shoe, but what if the plates are too hard on your legs for a particular day, or you can only pack one shoe for a vacation, or you just want to run in something a little more simple/low profile on the day? That's why I like to have one shoe I can do everything in if I need to, even if I don't train in it that much more than anything else. I'll mostly use it mostly for Maintenance-type efforts and light workouts, and it'll probably be a Pegasus or a Rebel or something. But that's just me.

Asics Novablast 3, a total failure. I use them only for walking. Novablast 2, are much better. In fact, Superblast was supposed to be Novablast 3, but here the firm Asics, cheated. Shame, Asics

Honestly think the novablast 3 has been hysterically hyped by many,a very average shoe that feels completely flat after about 200 miles.

I don't have many sessions with the NB3 yet, but from the first time I ran in them, I also thought that it was a very average shoe. It's better than the previous version, but that's not saying much (that shoe was terrible IMO). I got less than 200 miles out of the NB2 and based on your comment, I can expect more of the same from the NB3. I won't buy another shoe from the line and I've learned to ignore all recommendations made by reviewers. The omissions, half-truths, and exaggerations are just too much.

We’ll see, currently at 100 miles on mines. Despite the midsole creasing and wear the midsole is coming to life. I’ll be back to let y’all know!

300 miles on it. Still going. Decent daily trainer. The SuperBlast is better - have about 150 miles on it - but it's stupid expensive. It's also huge. It's light, but huge. I only use it for longer runs because of its size. Much better shoes for faster training.

@Robert K. IMO The Nimbus 24 is a much better shoe in every category. I can't think of a single thing the Novablast does well. At best, it's a very average shoe. I don't trust the opinion of this channel and others due to the hype they placed on this shoe.
