I have both and love them. Superblast does pretty well for easy runs for me not only long runs or tempo. I think SB is super versatile. Speed 3 is just fantastic. Only thing could be improved is the stackhight. Could be 1-2 mm higher in the forefoot. Can't wait to try Speed 4 but will only pull the trigger when my speed 3 is no longer in use. I've tried to control myself lately as I spend way too much money on running shoes. Yes, I am addicted and I'm doing my rehab...
For me the speed 3 performed extremely well in 2 marathons, but I have premature outside heel wear. I love the Asics as well, it has the better heel strike stability, durability factor for sustained daily use.
I bought the Speed 3 late last year for a half marathon. I know this goes against the rule but I ran it fresh out the box and was amazed for how good it was for the distance. Tried to preserve it, but since beginning of this year it’s been used as a daily Pretty good shoe.
Seems like a consensus among all the shoe reviewers I know and trust about the Superblast. Very fun shoe but also very niche, which makes the $220 USD price tag hard to justify. So yeah, of course I’m interested, but I’ll wait however many months it takes for it to come down to a reasonable price. Agree wholeheartedly on the Endorphin Speed 3. Best all-around show of 2022.
superblast is the best thing ever happened to me........i could train a half marathon and still get a pair of fresh leg for another training session in the next morning.....literally i could train every day with the superblast and enjoy it....mine has almost got 400km and i think i'm going to order another one or two pair of superblast while it still available in the stores.....
Thanks Tom! I think Asics have the Superblast/Novablast and Magic Speed all doing nuances on what Saucony have the Speed 3 doing. It may be argued there is the Endorphin Shift too but because the Speed is so good across the board its very tough to topple. As you say, value wise, Asics would expect the Superblast to be an industry lead. Its clear Asics are innovating, yet their product cost/value still dont really stack up against this competition. Part of it is it does still feel like Saucony have created coherency in their range. Saucony have dialled in. The creation of the Endorphin range was a smart move. Yet, there is clarity about what each of their trainers is supposed to do. You have Triumph, Ride 15 then up the Endorphin range. Looking ahead, they maybe need to dial in the Endorphin Shift and if that directly contested with the Superblast then Saucony could once again narrow up the Speed 4 to make it snappier again in 2023. This may leave the Edge as the all round go too. Yet this is all debatable - we'll see what they do). Asics do need to create more clarity in their range. It's not just a marketing ploy its being super clear on the what/why for each shoe in a range. IMO! Be really interested in others views on this!
I have been using the Endorphin Speed 3 for Recovery and Daily runs, the Nike Streakfly for Tempo runs and 5K's/10K's, and the Endorphin Pro 3 for long runs and the Half Marathon.
Both great shoes, however I find the Superblast to be a extremely protective on the legs versus the Speeds. I feel like I can run all day in the Superblasts (& the next). Both are great in your rotation.
Hey i also love my speed 3s but as you say the are not so "leg saving" Do you think the Triumph 20 is more leg saving similar as Superblast? Sueprblast are really Expensive
@@eddiekelley527 which do you prefer between all 3? I don’t care about price I just Would like to know if you prefer the superblast over speed 3, and Triumph 20? Do you think the superblast can replace both of them as a single shoe?
@@jaredwetherbee Yes, the Superblasts can replace all 3. I barely run in the Speed 3's anymore. The Superblast and Triumph 20's are the top 2 shoes in my rotation. I also purchased a second pair Superblasts. They are that good!!
I have the Speed 3 and ASICS Glideride atm as non race shoes. I might be interested in the superblast in the future to give it a try. Sportshoes didn’t have any stock last time I checked.
Great review, I am a fan of the Speed 2. I have also the Speed 3 but I feel they become mushy after an hour or so. Also a bit to unstable for me as a heel striker. Ordered the Superblast... I hope its more stable in the heel.. ❓
I have both and I prefer superblas for good pace run, just love how it feels. Speed 3 of course it’s the best all around, special for those tempo run! You can’t go wrong with those shoes.
I got the speed 2. Brilliant shoe, probably the best overall ive used, untill i step on dampish patch rhen they turn to ice skates. Hope they fixed the outsole in the 3s
Prices are too crazy for running shoes. Bring this shoe down to $160 and maybe it would be a good price. What I don’t get is that most shoe brands have a ton of everyday shoes with the same type of foams but priced 1/3 to 1/2 of what their running shoes cost
I ran a half marathon at 2 hrs. I'm looking for race day shoes. Would you choose the Saucony over a Metaspeed sky+? Or because I'm slow should I go for a super blast?
Maybe try the Boston 12. I am at a similar pace to you, I did the half marathon at 1:55 hours. I just got the Boston 12 and it’s great till now during training. Endorphin pro 4 would work for you too but they were too narrow for me.
Totally agree. My Endorphin Speed 1 was very good at the beginning, but after ~300km I could say it was another shoe (way more stiff). I thought it was the process of cleaning or something else I did, but now I think maybe not
Interesting comparison. Today I did my first run in superblast and after a few kms the shoes felt very similar to speed 3. Not sure which ones I am going to use more often. Do you think superblast are good for long easy efforts, like 25-30km and more?

Is the superblast comfortable for long distance at slower paces?

Asics fan myself but way too many out there ... a bit confusing ...
👍 For Saucony 💪 😍
Hey guys check your editing. At 0:40 you gave the Novablast 3 specs
Thank you! I’m a loyal fan of the Speed 3. I need a 3rd pair & was curious if I should switch to the SuperBlast. If it’s not broke, I won’t fix it.
I have been using the Endorphin Speed 3 for Recovery and Daily runs, the Nike Streakfly for Tempo runs and 5K's/10K's, and the Endorphin Pro 3 for long runs and the Half Marathon.
I like both, but Superblast is way more protective. Day after run with Speed 3 my legs hurt, day after Superblast I’m ready to go.
Great review! 🔥🙌

As a slightly heavier runner and midfoot striker, I find the plate in the speed 3 gets uncomfortable under foot after about 10 miles.
First one that goes on sale.
