I picked up a Bigrock a while back. Left it stock and am happy with it. I have the 6s Kraton, Typhon and Infraction and am still super impressed by the Bigrock. Really light and flies awesome 👌
if you really want to i would do a 6s conversion with a 2000kv motor i jus bought one and the dude did that and i love it more than any of my rcs i’ve owned

The simple fact the Big Rock keeps getting compared to and run against the Maxx says volumes about it. The Maxx is a beast but too expensive. The Big Rock and Granite have to be the best value bashers you can buy. Not the best but the best value.
Buy the Maxx you won’t regret it.
It is such a cool truck but I’m not paying £600 for a 1/10
@@craigconley2529 you will when ya have to non stop order parts. My big rock has been beat for 18 months and I have replaced one c hub. I don't drive like him I go big.
@@jojolol4823 so you have or have had both and the maxx has broken more? Most say the maxx is tougher out of the box. I have been thinking which one I buy for like a month now because of plenty of people saying the big rock will need upgrades so, even when the Maxx is way pricier, it'll be alright if I keep it stock.
@@winstonsmith9619 I’ve have the big rock ,the vortex ,senton and none I’ve had to do any upgrades other then slapping a 4s esc on all and senton having a motor swap to a 1900kv on a 20t pinion the big rock has to be the best basher and handler the vortex is great for speed and handling but you do need to upgrade shocks my big rock has stock everything and it’s held up better then the xmaxx my buddy has he’s broke more and I’ve shot mine higher in the air . Lol I have traxxas as well rustler 4x4 rustler 2wd and have had a erevo and honestly arrma I’d the way to go unless you’re making a speed run car then go with the 2 wd rustler other than that I’d go with the big rock for bashing ! Just get rid of the stock esc !

I’ve got both and they are both brilliant. The rock is on another level in the air, and the steering is much quicker and more direct than the maxx.
I have spent another £400 on the maxx upgrading it just to get it to where it could compete with the rock. The rock is standard but it ripped its front cvd apart and I’ve replaced with gpm but that’s it. Much better value. But you can tell it’s made cheap. But I think that’s what makes it as durable as it is.

I love my Maxx. And not because I'm a Traxxas guy, I just bought a vorteks as well and I love that too. They are just different. But I own 11 off road RCs and my Maxx is my fav.
Big Rock for budget and Maxx if you have the cash. Personally, I'd rather (and do, haha) own a Big Rock 3S and Tyhpon 3S for almost the same price as the Maxx.
Doing wheelies with the senton 3S on the sidewalk and racing traffic is crazy fun haha

I had the Maxx , must have the wide kit / metal drive shafts , now turns into a $750 truck , still didn't perform to my liking so sold it . You can buy 2 Big Rocks for the price of 1 Maxx . I didn't buy a BR cause I'm not a fan of slipper clutches , but at $319 worth a try and if don't like it , no biggy just sell it .
Also , I then got a Notorious 6s , and on 4s at $549 ( V3 ) blows away the Maxx

The simple fact that you're comparing these 2 trucks says more about both than anything. If I wasn't such a gearhead, I would still have both of them instead of giving them to the kids. But if I kept them, I would upgrade the heck out of both so much that they would be too scared to touch them, just like my 6s rigs.
As someone who was more into Tamiya models building upgrading and driving I prefer my maxx. It’s a beast on 4s and durable af. This vehicle is almost indestructible. Love it.
I want it but it is way too expensive for a 1/10
change the punch setting to 5 on the Bog Rock, and you will see a huge difference
I have both and love both. I turned the Maxx into 6s because the 4s esc kept burning up and Traxxas takes months for warranty. The Big Rock is on 3rd motor because the bearings are trash. But Horizon sends me new replacement parts within a week if in stock. Big Rock is great for tighter area and so light. But Maxx is a beast and can now run 3.8 Badlands. Thank for the great content.

I know, it's impossible to go full throttle unless you have a long road. I basically run 4s and the esc and motor stay cool.
I love my Big Rock..I've put a lot of time and money into it, I bought it used off Ebay and almost rebuilt it..

Man my big rock smokes my boys Maxx all the time..it has a better power to weight ratio..you can see the difference immediately

I like my big rock it scoots 💨💨 the max looks a little more solid tho. But I can get a chassis brace and fix that. The Maxx can handle larger tires if you're into the bashing at speed
So Im going to be buying either a big rock or a granite in December. What do you prefer? I'm kinda leaning toward the big rock. Lower stance kinda like my ecx ruckus 4x4

@@gputests5425 sadly I had to cheap out. I just put money into the ecx torment I have already. Now it brushless running 3s. Maybe I'll get a better basher at the end of this year. It all depends
@@beejsonw any updates on getting a new rc ? I just bought the big rock and love it to death. Quick upgrades you should do to it is. Get a wing for it, put mx28 or fortress mt tires on it. Maybe a new bumper. And shock in the future

But stock vs stock for the money witch is the best ? Like to see a speed test I am thinking about getting a big rock .
The max is going to be faster by about 3 to 4 miles. I think I got the max to about 54-55 miles per hour when I got the big rocks to about 50 to 52.

I'd buy a Maxx if it included the wide arms and proper driveshafts. You can buy 2 big rocks for what a Maxx with wide arms cost. 😏 Bout a hundred more for metal shafts.
why do you guys always say links in the description and then dont, also you say the big rock is using a 5500 3s and the maxx is using a 8500 but you dont say how many cell its using, if you had the links i could of had a look.
Wish Traxxas would produce the Maxx with the wide kit pre-installed. Big Rock is definitely a better value, but I think I prefer the Maxx from what I've seen. Does the light kit actually help seeing in the dark, or is that mostly just for aesthetics? Hope you do the skate part video soon, I love those!

I have my granite tires from Jenny's in the mail! The new 3s shocks with the screw rods do much better than the older push-in style. What shocks did you buy?
@@DamienJoseph-kg9xm i used the shocks from my senton😂😂😂 so i got bigrock with granite tires&senton shocks😂😂😂 but the senton shocks are the stiffest outta all my 3's..
The Maxx, twice the cost with less performance.
The max is defently better than the big rock but for the price the rock is extremely good
Interesting to see the two head to head however here in the UK a Traxxas Maxx is twice the price of the Big Rock and as much as i like Traxxas RC's i don't think i will get twice as much enjoyment over the Big Rock so in that respect for me it's not a fair comparison, but enjoyed the vid all the same 👍

Maxx $550 plus widekit $50 (which now comes with extended plastic driveshafts). If I get a Big Rock I’ll always wonder how the Maxx is like, probably not the other way around. Buy once, cry once.
Big rock will put last the Maxx by miles. Mine has 2600kv hobbywing on 4s. Does close to 100 and is unbreakable

Do you feel the Kraton and big rock are similar? I already have a v5 Kraton and I'm wanting to add another 3s basher to the lineup. I'm just worried if I do get the big rock it'll just turn out to be a smaller 3s Kraton pretty much and it won't get much use.
I do not have a Kraton but a Tekno MT410 and the BR, which is a similar combination. The MT410 is by far the better performer but the BR is just a blast to drive. After a few upgrades, it turns into an indestructible basher. It is so relaxing when you know, that you do not have to worry when attempting insane stunts. Even one of my friends was considering selling his Kraton and get the BR instead.

compared to the Maxx, the Big Rock looks and sounds like a toy, but damn does it mean business! Also, I'm not sure if this is true, but based on the parking lot runs, it seems as if the Big Rock handles better, being that it didn't flip. It seems much more stable in that sense, and I'm glad that's what I decided to go with as my RC of choice for my upcoming birthday. I'm becoming somewhat of an ARRMA fanboy as a result of their lower pricing for similar performance.
I have both the big rock is a good truck and I like it a lot but the maxx is in a different league.
It has to be to justify the price and the necessary upgrades required to put it in a different league. But out of the box 🤔
@@TheflyingkiwiRC I agree, but even stock the maxx is a way better truck. The maxx's handling get complaints, and yeah, the big rock handles well, but I never had trouble with the maxx stock, because I adjust and drive how I need to. If you can drive and rc, the maxx is great even stock.
This test is pretty clear who the winner is for half the damn price and bone stock! Wow. Is doesn’t come with a 3s battery right? Any recommendations for battery
I just got my big rock in last week..... ( I've only had traxxas crawlers with the exception of my newer model rustler 4x4 bls-2) and I ran my big rock for about 3 mins until rear wheel fell off. Got the wheel back on next day I went to drive it at the skate park but once again about 3 minutes in I noticed the front wheel was so loose it was about to fall off so I put her up since I had no tools on me. I got home later that evening and found so many things loose on it which I found very odd for a brand new unit. My front wheels were so crooked looking so I adjusted them to be pretty straight and inline..... but now I looking at your truck and seeing your front wheels are very toed out. Think mine will be OK with the wheels alignment ?
So... Should I get a big rock and do some upgrades or getting a Maxx v2 and keeping it stock? Big rock with a bash bar, new motor mount and new servo is still cheaper than stock Maxx and people keep on saying bad things about Maxx electronics...
If you leave the max V2 stock you'll be fine. 50 + mph is fine for that truck. You can't go wrong with either one
@@JayTeeRC cheers man! so... Maybe better Maxx for £600 than big rock for 350+30ish(servo)+30ish(bash bar)+40ish (motor mount)=£450ish? Maybe yes taking into account I should also maybe change the diff...😅 UNLESS the electronics in Maxx fail soon😂 decisions decisions....

I'd go for the Max because it's bigger and also a 4s, but I have to think if I actually want to spend the extra money(both initial amount and the parts and batteries afterwards, which would be cheaper for a big rock) taking into account, apparently, as u say, can't go wrong with either and the price of the Maxx is the same as a 6s arrma😅 thanks again. So I have a big rock and I love it also have traxxas and I’m always buying parts for the traxxas the big rock I can usually fix whatever breaks with some super glue and zip ties kinda thing lol. And other videos I’ve watched the guy was comparing a stock brcc to a maxx with “700$ in modifications” he also said that if you don’t buy these things then it we’ll keep breaking
Jaytee love your videos I watch all of them but I have to call you out. Based on price alone it would be much more appropriate to compare this traxxas to a Kraton. It's literally more than double the cost of a big rock. Full disclosure: Arrma fanboy. If someone has $600 to spend get a 6s over a 3s all day.

Yep a little bit over $200. I think it's a good truck but in this particular video the truck stands at about $700. For me to upgrade on her more than worth it but to those just getting in I wouldn't really recommend it because it's going to cost you a lot. If you're on a budget I say get the big rock.
@@JayTeeRC I just stayed away from traxxas all together. I'm building a krwtin 8s now from parts. Thsts how I do all my cars. Traxxas doesn't lend itself for me to do that. So I just stick with all the other brands.
