Can confirm all ya need is an audio cable from the console to the goxlr game input. Way easier than I thought it would be. :) That's goes for PS4 users btw.
Hi. Thanks for the video. My question is and sorry if you answered but this is mad confusing. How are you hearing the game audio? Does it rout it as well with the goxlr?
Yea having lot of issue to connecting the goxlr with the xbox series x with a one pc setup with wired mic I cant hear other in game chat and how you setup the sleep option with the goxlr cause mines dont have that preset
Do you have discord? Under the TC Helicon Discord there is a channel called "important-links" where they have posted a profile you can download of the Sleep Setting!
Also, I don't have a Series X quite yet so I haven't been able to figure everything out yet, but I believe if you get an Optical to HDMI or Optical to USB cable, you'll be able to fix your issue!
I did get it working! It did take me a week, but I had several other recording devices that needed to be muted. Also, after turning on my GoXLR(by selecting my profile), I have to have audio playing through explorer before all of the audio is available/enabled through the GoXLR. Hopefully this helps someone else at some point. This shit was tricky, but it is fun as hell. Thanks again man!
So from I understand and predicting is you can use an HDMI to Optical Converter cable and it will work just fine that way. If not i'm sure there will be some sort of Optical to USB cable we can use. As soon as I get the new console and figure it all out I will 100% make a video detailing exactly how it works!
So honestly you don't even need a chat link anymore, but if you want to keep using it, then I would probably want to say No. Do you already have a GoXLR??
@@AbbadonXS it will be here next week. Been streaming on PC, then Ps4(pro) using Hd60s and chat link. Not sure if I need to purchase something else. Or just unplug my chat link and plug it into the back port on go xlr?
Like recording sounds or other voices using your sampler? You just check the sampler box under microphone in the GoXLR App to route that audio out through your microphone line.
On PC you can set it to push to talk in game chat, but on Console I haven't found any way to use the GoXLR for in game chat yet. I would love to be able to though so if I can find a way I will definitely let you know!

I bought the a50’s today because your in game audio on other videos sounds great and i really want the same setup. You plug the Astro line in into the xlr line out? Sorry for a long message, thanks bro.
So just connect the ASTRO A50 Base station to your console via USB. Party chat will be controlled on the GoXLR (if you have one) in game chat I just control via settings in game. I just find a good volume level and leave it!
@@AbbadonXS sorry for the late response my astros just came in. Atm my stream still can’t hear in game chat, it’s pretty infuriating. @@vferr01 Ok so this is exactly how I set mine up: USB from A50 Base Station -> Xbox Optical Cable from GoXLR -> Xbox (This will send the game volume to the Game channel of the GoXLR, make sure it's being sent to the Broadcast Stream Mix on the routing table.) Aux Cable from A50 Base Station -> GoXLR Line Out OR Headphone plug in IN-Game Settings: Game Chat Audio needs to be set to Speakers in the settings of the game. Absolutely! You can hear sound coming from both at the same time! Any sound I want to hear from the PC I just assign to my music line on my GoXLR usually!
Yea you can. So on the back of the GoXLR. There is a 3.5mm audio input with a microphone symbol. As long as your mic can connect an aux cable from it to the GoXLR you can!

Then use another 3.55mm aux cable from the headphones or Line out inputs on the front or back of the GoXLR to the A50 aux input on the base station. The GoXLR mini has a couple of the inputs on the front and some on the back as well.
Hey man, great video .. I was going insane trying to set this up for my xbox until I came across your video. Do you use an elgato to capture gameplay? If so, what are your audio settings for that? Also, what are your audio settings in the Astro command center?
Yea man, I use the Elgato 4K60. The original one not the MKII version. Loved the video!! Was reading through comments and wanted to double check something. Can I use a blue yeti for both my Xbox chat and my stream with this set up?
You absolutely can, with an Aux Cable connected from the Yeti to the Microphone Aux input in the GoXLR. Just note, you can't utilize the pre amps and get real nice EQ if you use the Yeti. If you want to take full advantage of the GoXLR I truly recommend the $100 Blue Ember XLR Mic. It's perfectly good audio and uses the XLR input so you can have full control over the Microphones sound! But either way, you can use the Yeti on the GoXLR!
I personally use the RE2-20 XLR Microphone, but you can use a USB mic as long as it has an aux port. Connect it to the GoXLR and use the companion app on PC for your Xbox parties. The people in your party don't need to be in the companion app, you just will be to take advantage of the GoXLR
So, what I have done, is just use my Astro A50s for my game chat while also using the GoXLR in party chat, essentially being able to use 2 chats at the same time which is really cool. But using the GoXLR for the game chat specifically, I know I was able to do it at one point, but it didn't sound that great. It sounded like I was using my studio mic, but the voice fx weren't active and the audio wasn't processed. But I was able to do it, I know that.
@@AbbadonXS Im looking to do the same thing but i dont have a headset yet. So you can use the A50s xbox wireless for game chat? how would your connections work, how do you get sound into your headset to the mixer(line out)? and the a50s auto-connect the mic to the xbox console in-game chat? i understand the PC goxlr setup. i just cant find anyone who mentions a game chat/ simo /pc party chat with a wireless headset.
@@d30dk3nn3dy So, I have the USB from the A50 base station going to the Xbox, and an Aux Cable going from the Base Station to the GoXLR Line Out port. I then have an Optical Cable going from the GoXLR to the Xbox. It all just kinda works like magic from there. The A50 mic connects to the in game chat via the USB going from the base station to the console, and I use my studio mic in the party chat on the Xbox app on PC
On console there are ways to get it to work in Gamechat, but it does require some extra steps and accessories. Just based off of the set up in this video it does not. But it can!
LOST AF! Zero of the sound fx come through anything other than into my own headphones(A50's). Xbox companion app has to be set to my Blue yeti and not chat mic for me to be heard in a party(If I select the A50's they will work also, but again not on stream). The TC-Helicon video says to disable the yeti. I have no mic on stream then. Party chat is not heard over stream even when routed what appears to be "correctly". The sliders for music, console, party chat etc only adjust what is heard in my headset and not what goes out to the stream. Hopefully you use OBS studios and have time to show the audio settings there? I've worked hard to get where I am streaming wise and am literally about to give it all up, because of my audio issues. The audio issues plagued me when I first started streaming. Now I haven't bothered attempting to stream in a week, after spending roughly 14 hours trying to get this to work. I've watched 5 different youtubers videos and end the night wanting to make fire on my setup. Lol. There are probably more issues that I'm forgetting at the moment. Rant over. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. @bryan Farmer's input is welcome also....
My 100% honest suggestion, sell the yeti, make some money, and buy the Blue Ember, I promise having an XLR mic will make your life a lot easier. Let me know if thats a possibility or not, if not we can go a different path to fixing the issue
@@AbbadonXS I was afraid that would be the suggestion, but I appreciate the honesty. I'm going through the manual again tonight more closely. Hopefully, I can get it to work. Losing money and support as time goes by... (saddest of the faces).
FYI you lose the ability to adjust mic monitoring volume when using the Line OUT vs the Headphones port. Not a huge deal, but it's a difference and it's worth mentioning. Also as a primarily console gamer, those PC default devices in your sound settings don't really affect you. Having said that they are incorrect and those settings would cause some significant issues if someone were to play on PC + Console. If you would like to chat sometime about the more in depth setup video you mentioned, please HMU on Discord. You can find me in both the Alpha Gaming and TC Helicon Discord servers (doinwork99). I'm an MVP tech support provider in the TC Helicon Discord server and would love to help you make sure the information you put out is accurate :-) Enjoyed the video, not a ton of console videos out there.
I like my mic monitoring maxed so I've never needed to adjust it. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the PC default devices not really affecting me. I use them constantly to direct sound to and from PC speakers or Music line on the GoXLR.
@@AbbadonXS I was only pointing out that it's a difference, if someone wanted to adjust their mic monitoring, and moved that slider in the app, it wouldn't change if they were plugged into the Line OUT port. Then they would think that something is wrong. Your default output device in the video is "Dell U2515H" (which I'm guessing is a monitor?). The default input is "Digital Audio Interface", I can't see the full name so I can't be sure what that is. If you are on a single PC setup with a console, those should (typically) be "System" and "Chat Mic" respectively. So while those settings may be working for you, they are not correct for the vast majority of users. I realize that every situation is a little different, and that makes it hard to have a sort of "set way to configure things", and I'm not trying to beat you up or anything, so please don't take any of my comments that way :-) I just see videos on other RUclips channels where things are configured in a manner that may or may not work for the people watching the videos, (not only here there are other channels) and try to provide all the information that might be relevant to the viewers. I'm only looking to provide information and help people.

If you want to take full advantage of the GoXLR I truly recommend the $100 Blue Ember XLR Mic. It's perfectly good audio and uses the XLR input so you can have full control over the Microphones sound! But either way, you can use the Yeti on the GoXLR!
@@AbbadonXS That is false the 3.5mm mic input on the goxlr uses the same eq/pre-amp as the xlr.
Do you use a usb mic that goes into the console through the goxlr?
I personally use the RE2-20 XLR Microphone, but you can use a USB mic as long as it has an aux port. Connect it to the GoXLR and use the companion app on PC for your Xbox parties. The people in your party don't need to be in the companion app, you just will be to take advantage of the GoXLR
You ever find anything that lets you use it in game chat? I've seen some stuff but nothing has worked so far.
@@AbbadonXS Epic! now to find a set a A50s not being price gouged
@@d30dk3nn3dy yea, unfortunately everything is stupid expensive right now
Do you have to have the pc to use it on console?
You do unfortunately. You need to be running the GoXLR PC Application to use it. You can always just use it on a laptop rather than a crazy desktop
Does it work in game chat?
On console there are ways to get it to work in Gamechat, but it does require some extra steps and accessories. Just based off of the set up in this video it does not. But it can!
@@AbbadonXS may i ask how? And what i would need?
@@estro8897 I don't remember how, but you can watch this video to get an understanding ruclips.net/video/am0GPYrwudU/видео.html
How use on game chat? Not party chat
Are you on Console or PC?
RRG Abbadon console. I want to be able to kinda troll people on Xbox. Just for the giggles I also have a pc as well
Rather than try and explain it here is a decent video on how to do exactly what you are trying to do! ruclips.net/video/BdItEHLtJt4/видео.html
@@gregc7579 I mean, if getting an XLR mic isn't really an option i'm sure a fix can still be reached.
I'm an MVP tech support provider in the TC Helicon Discord server and would love to help you make sure the information you put out is accurate :-)
Enjoyed the video, not a ton of console videos out there.
I realize that every situation is a little different, and that makes it hard to have a sort of "set way to configure things", and I'm not trying to beat you up or anything, so please don't take any of my comments that way :-)
I just see videos on other RUclips channels where things are configured in a manner that may or may not work for the people watching the videos, (not only here there are other channels) and try to provide all the information that might be relevant to the viewers. I'm only looking to provide information and help people.
@@bryanfarmer5215 Bryan- I’m trying to use a Shure sm7b, razer usb headphones, streaming to twitch directly from an Xbox series s to lightstream, and have no pc to use, only a MacBook, which I didn’t want to have involved in the process if I don’t have to.
My question is, how can I use all equipment and have control of game chat Audio to stream, and my mic audio separate to the same stream signal so I can mute to stream when needed. I’m having a very hard time. Will a device like this work, or something similar/more budget friendly?
I also have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 that I can use if it would help, but I don’t know if it would without being hooked up to a computer.
I would greatly appreciate any help you could give. I know it’s not your job. Lol.

You're very welcome!
Welp, we're fucked when Xbox Series X comes out then... bc they got rid of the optical port on the Series X

why does a youtuber with 291 subs have a $450 microphone ? out of curiosity
I like to have quality equipment. Plus considering I use it for everything, I would rather have the best audio than ok audio
@@AbbadonXS you can get much better then ok audio for a LOT cheaper, what pre-amps and interface do you use ?
You definitely can, but I'm not afraid to invest in more expensive equipment. I use the GoXLR as you can see by the video. The GoXLR has the pre amps and what not built in.
