My big question with the goxlr ... in this setup if your 1 mic is the PS5 mic into game chat and your stream mic can you still mute your mic in only game chat so only your stream is hearing your mic? I'm assuming the answer is yes but I don't want to bother game chat while I'm talking to the stream.

I have a very similar setup using the audio adapter on the PS5 to the in and out of the GOXLR and Optical from tv for the game sound. I get audio via optical from TV to Toslink then to GOXLR. The weird part is my PS5 chat can hear everything I can. My game audio and any videos I'm playing on my computer. But the routing table only has the Mic set up to the output line. Apart from this, my chat on PS5 tells me my mic becomes robotic at times. I'm using the UGREEN Audio adapter. Anyone run into any of these issues?
The only problem I have is when I plug the HDMI from my PS5 into the audio extractor, then into my elgato 4K pro, then to the TV I can no longer use HDR. Needless to say the stream sounded terrible. Is there a way to have the ps5 on a different source and the mic separate? Please help👍🏻
hello, I have seen another way of setting it up is in the GoXLR software, putting the first channel with the source of "console" which would be the game audio, then another channel as "Line in" which is the party chat from the sound card, which in theory should separate them, this didn't work for me though for some reason which is why I was forced to keep them on the same source. as for the game fading in and out im not entirely sure why that is, what Mic are you using?
Thank you for responding! Your video is spot on and everything works. I went on discord to find out if obs was the problem and the great people there ask me if I took off the filters on the aux/mic and there was my issue. @@1of9media69 it didn't work for you cos you have the setting wrong. The whole point of the audio extractor is to get use of the optical port to recieve audio signal and the usb sound card is the headset. This is how the astro mixamp works. If you don't switch from all audio to chat audio it won't split the two signals
hi, i got a hdmi audio exctractor for my ps5. and ran the optical from it to my go xlr. but there's crackling. is it the cable or the adapter do you think?
Run the HDMI from ps5 to the legato like you normally would then from the legato run it to the extractor. Then the extractor to the monitor. HDMI processes both video and audio signal. Honestly I don't think you need the extractor at all since he's sending the audio from the ps5 into the line in of goxlr similar to a 2 pc setup. So he's not using the console channel of the goxlr he's using the line in channel.
When you plug in a headset into the controller you have to route it to either all audio or chat audio so if you use chat audio you'll hear the sound from the game on the TV and if you use all then you'll hear both chat and game in the headsets Astro has the mixamp, you power it with the usb and then you use the optical from a ps4 to the mixamp and you could use a know that would increase chat or game volume based on preference. So even if the ps5 did have an optical port you're just receiving the sound from the console and chat. You'd still need to use the line out of the goxlr to be able to let your friends hear the mic, the voice changer, and the sampler if you want to play music during load screens or in-between lobbies. You just need the usb sound card, and the loop isolators not the hdmi converter. Hdmi converters only take the hdmi audio signal and port it through the optical out for tvs that don't have them. The ones that will support hdr are going to be real expensive I bought one that supported it and the ps5 didn't recognize it. Plus it limits the fps to 60 fps since there are no 2.1 hdmi converters out at the moment My monitor has an auxiliary out so I use that and plug it into the line in of goxlr and the line out I plug into the mic port of the usb sound card. That's all you need. If your not on a monitor or your TV doesn't have auxiliary out then you use the headphone port of the USB sound card and plug it into the line in of the goxlr. Thats really all there is to it.
@@ENDZONECELL1400 it has it. It gives you the choice between all audio and chat audio. If you're livestreaming in chat you more than likely want to include the viewers in the conversation cos you're not going to be focusing on your viewers as much as your party chat. So the seperate audio extractor isn't needed. Cos if you want to address your viewers there's an option on the goxlr to mute your line out and you can lower your game volume so viewers can't hear your party and you can increase music volume. Ps5 also has an option to mute chat now. Not on the ps4. IF You really want a seperate fader for your chat and game like how the astro mixamp has the volume knob that gives you independent volume between increasing game chat but lowering game volume *since it's only one knob* then you can use an audio extractor. But it won't be cheap if you want one that will support yuv 4:4:4 and have HDR10 support on the ps5 you'll be paying 60-80 dollars for one. Be aware the ps5 is suited for 4k120fps which there are no audio extractors In the market that has 2.1 hdmi granted there's also not alot of gamers that have a 2.1 supported TV cos right now they are really expensive. And gaming isn't really a priority for these manufacturers since they suit people with projectors and soundbars. And they usually don't don't havr a use for 120fps. So these will cap your fps to 60fps.
Ok so here's what I've done. This will only work if your TV or monitor has an auxiliary out for sound. I have my monitor plugged in with a 3.5 mm to my line in on the goxlr you may need a ground isolator. BOOM I HAVE GAME AND CHAT VOLUME using Line in. No need for an audio extractor. Number one you'll lose hdr capabilities and you'll be maxed out at only 4k 60hz since that's the highest any of those go for. As for my mic I usually use remote play, the ps5 picks up my mic pc mic. But I'm soon about to buy a usb sound card that has a built in volume knob. Cos I'm honestly bored of doing the extra steps. But for now I just want to say the optical extractor is just being extra it just adds the ability for the "game" but plugging from monitor out to line in essentially does the same thing.
To clear it up. Since the ps5 recognizes the usb sound card as both a mic and audio channels you don't need the audio extractor. The optical port on the goxlr is an in port. They essentially do the same thing it gathers sound from its source. The line in is meant to grab audio essentially from anything you can grab it from with an audio out port. If you want to grab the game sound from a dual pc setup you'd use the line in if you want to grab music from a device you'd use this port as well. So unless you want to use the line in port for something else then you'd need this device if you don't want to be plugging in and out the cable.

@@haies09 I had to look up what the software does but if I got it right by watching the demo, if your pc mobo has a line out and a line in for audio yes it will work. Cheer man, when I set mine up and did this video for the PS5 I just set it up the same way as the PS4 with the addition of the audio extractor, didn't come across any issues with the HDMI cable (must of already had the correct one) so completely forgot about having to have specific ones, plus with the GoXLR I based the video on the assumption that people would either be using an XLR mic or USB mic so didn't think to mention the controller mic, although the mute button does still work on the controller. That's total b.s. hdmi cables are based on bandwidth they're all backwards compatible. The 2.1 is only necessary if you need 120fps capable. Since the audio extractors on the market do not have 2.1 support it caps the ps5 to 4k 60fps.

I have an internal capture capture card in my PC which I use for streaming. From watching your video, I was a little bit confused on one part. So would you run the setup like this to get sound and video to the streaming PC: PS5 HDMI > Audio extractor IN > Audio extractor OUT > Elgato HDMI IN (In the PC) > Elgato HDMI OUT (In the PC) > Gaming Monitor. Then I would assume for the streaming monitor I would just have a DisplayPort cord from the streaming PC to that streaming monitor. Is that correct?
I have a similar setup but with Xbox. I was told to go from Xbox, elgato capture card, hdmi extractor, monitor. Then just mute the capture card in OBS. Sucks it’s limited at 60hz with capture card, but that’s all the stream can see regardless.
Thanks mate
Nice video
Im planning on getting the GOXLR mini and im not a streamer i just need it because I have both PS5 and PC so to be specific when i Play cod i use the ps5 and my friends r using discord. And i want to chat with them using 1 mic 1 headphone so basically hear both pc and ps5 audio
If all your friends are on discord then you only need the usb sound card. You'd then just use the headphone jack to line in. That's it oh and the ground isolators
does it work without a computer
Thanks
Call me crazy but I've been searching on youtube and google and can't find any answers if I have PS5 Elgato Capture Card and GoXLR Mini can I bypass most of these steps?
which steps are you referring to? this set up is how I set my PS5 up with the GoXLR
What capture card? And probably not unless you have a live feed of the capture card but you'd still need the line out to use the mic unless you're on discord
I'm new to understanding the goxlr. My current setup with a ps4 and pc with a mixamp lets me hear both systems audio but i have to change the where the usb is plugged into to chat on that system and I'm using an external elgato device for capturing sound and gamplay to stream
My question is does the go xlr allow one mic to be used on both system at the same time? You said audio is going through but is that just to the stream or both stream and ps5 party chat? Ive never used an internal capture card so all the cables are confusing me
A video showing your cable setups would be amazing! Thanks for the content!
Hello, yes I use one mic for both, with this set up you'll be able to talk in party chat as well as the mic sending your voice into the computer, this video was made using the mic in the GOXLR which I also use for playstation without having to change anything
I have 2 microphones.1 usb blue yeti usb mic and 1 xlr microphone.I want to use one for in game on my ps5 and the other for my live stream so I can use both.To be able to mute in game when I want to talk on my stream or be able to speak in game and mute on my livestream. How do I go about it
I have connected the xlr to the goxlr directly and the blue yeti usb to ps5.
hello, I have followed your video and want to say thanks for a helpful video, it all works fine, have connected my noise isolators also, i still seem to have interference on the line in, changed the cables and till get the same interference, would a volume adjuster work, it really is my last hope hahaha
Either mute line out on goxlr or mute the PS5 mic with the controller so u see the orange light
@@AnthonyKillz Yeah I just wasn't sure if the controller mute mic would still work or not. That is by far the easiest way and what I currently do now so that would be perfect. I can't wait for everyone to hear my incredible autotune skillz. :-)
What? Say it again

Hello all,
I followed the video to the tee. I was able to get a good feed. The only issue is I have both the ps5 and the mic on the same audio source on obs.
When I stream the game fades in and out. Needless to say the stream sounded terrible. Is there a way to have the ps5 on a different source and the mic separate?
Please help👍🏻
hello,
I have seen another way of setting it up is in the GoXLR software, putting the first channel with the source of "console" which would be the game audio, then another channel as "Line in" which is the party chat from the sound card, which in theory should separate them, this didn't work for me though for some reason which is why I was forced to keep them on the same source.
as for the game fading in and out im not entirely sure why that is, what Mic are you using?
Thank you for responding! Your video is spot on and everything works. I went on discord to find out if obs was the problem and the great people there ask me if I took off the filters on the aux/mic and there was my issue. Once I deleted the filters everything is perfect.
Thank you for making your video and I will redirect anyone to your content.

No worries man, glad it all worked out in the end, the GoXLR discord is an amazing place, I've used it on multiple occasions when I get stuck :)
How does this work with the Elgato HD60S?
Did you ever figure this out? I’ve been looking for months in an video for this and found nothing

Wow. It’s sad that Sony is making us do all this just to get hdmi audio and headset audio out at the same time. Doesn’t make any sense.
When you plug in a headset into the controller you have to route it to either all audio or chat audio so if you use chat audio you'll hear the sound from the game on the TV and if you use all then you'll hear both chat and game in the headsets
Astro has the mixamp, you power it with the usb and then you use the optical from a ps4 to the mixamp and you could use a know that would increase chat or game volume based on preference.
Plus it limits the fps to 60 fps since there are no 2.1 hdmi converters out at the moment
My monitor has an auxiliary out so I use that and plug it into the line in of goxlr and the line out I plug into the mic port of the usb sound card. That's all you need. If your not on a monitor or your TV doesn't have auxiliary out then you use the headphone port of the USB sound card and plug it into the line in of the goxlr. Thats really all there is to it.
@@iiSup3rior the console just needs its own custom audio interface
@@iiSup3rior you sound very knowledgeable so I figured I’d ask you.
I currently have the Wave 3 microphone from Elgato. Is this possible with this mic and using the Wave Link software it comes with? If not would the mic work on the GOXLR, being it’s a usb microphone? Thanks
@@haies09 yeah it'll work cos you're plugging in the usb mic to the mic port on the goxlr then line out to ps5 and then line in from your monitor or audio splitter
@@iiSup3rior nice to know we can use the Wave microphone on the goxlr, but what I was wondering is if we can use the wave link software to get the game chat/audio and use the mic for both console and pc at the same time like the goxlr? They seem to be both similar, so one doesn’t have to buy the XLR if not needed. Thanks again for the reply
@@haies09 I had to look up what the software does but if I got it right by watching the demo, if your pc mobo has a line out and a line in for audio yes it will work. You'd still need a usb chat dongle for the ps5. You'd plug in the headphone from the USB sound card into the line in so the pc can "hear" what's coming out from the console and then using the line out from pc into the mic input on the usb dongle so the console can "hear" the mic.
You left out alot of keypoints man even though i did like the video good info but you forgot to mention the ps5 controller and the built-in mic. That does bypass all other mics the sound card with the aux cables are for your ps4/5 party chats hense the line in and line out ports on the goxlr and if you don't use a hdmi 2.1 to match the ps5 for the hdmi converter you will not get picture on your monitor or TV even the makers of the goxlr are still trying to find a proper way for the goxlr to work properly with the ps5 without isses
Thanks for the feedback though :) really appreciate all comments
That's total b.s. hdmi cables are based on bandwidth they're all backwards compatible. The 2.1 is only necessary if you need 120fps capable. Since the audio extractors on the market do not have 2.1 support it caps the ps5 to 4k 60fps.
@@iiSup3rior my brother who had the same converter had no picture going to the ps5 to the monitor, but we all know about bandwidth and stuff why can't we get 1080p/120hz on a gaming monitor for ps5 ?? It can't they need to do another firmware update for that to be available
