The very first car I bought was a ‘62 coupe. I bought it when I was 14 for $75. I got it running good and took it to Earl Scheib for a $29.95 paint job. Emerald green! It came back lime green. Sold it for $250!!
I remember seeing those commercials on tv back in the day and if you ever watch American restoration he had one of those big metal signs hanging on his shops exterior wall outside I remember seeing .
Great that you took the time to show what a winter storm could and can do to make life miserable in winter anywhere or even in Summer with a lot of damage in a state like Florida. Glad old Cadillac runs good, you never give up when you start out to do something. A+++++ videos.
Those storms that start out as rain and end in snow are the worst! So much damage. Being without power for more than a few hours is a real pain too! It would be cool to see that powertrain in a project for sure. I guess time will tell. Thanks for making the video! Stay warm.
What makes this channel so great is that Morske hasn’t gotten lazy on the videos even after he has made it big. That’s why this is my favorite, keep up the good work.
Thumbs up for Mortske and Duff..........Hit that button they kept going in a crappy ice storm for us......Thanks Mortske!!!!!! Appreciate it hope the power is back for you all!!!!

Nice work dealing with the weather that you were handed! It's tough living out in the country when power goes out. The Wes comment had me rolling but I'm just glad both of you are safe.
Hey man good to see you this morning mortsky Back in the 60’s and before people stored their clothes in the attic and the moth’s would eat holes in their clothes depending on were a person lived I was born in 60’ and remember that smell well
I hope you're restoring this , its a fairly well optioned car , power options indicates a deville , cruise control , power door locks is an added bonus , persian sand with a white top even better , this car is definitely worth restoring .
Your not going to hurt the generator under a load for extended periods, but you will consume a lot more fuel. Most generators have a breaker you need to reset if you draw too much current anyway. Thanks for the Vid Brother, enjoyed it and that motor does sound good!
Nothing like a 1959 GM behemoth. Looking forward to an update on this one. Nothing like Duff Dog's endless enthusiasm to keep things going. He duh man!
Hats off to you for continuing production with no utility power! Another great video! All 60 Caddys were hardtops but there was a 6 window sedan that had a curved top like the coupes. The trans is a 4 speed hydra-matic. Don't remember which one
Well currently it is snowing up north here in Wyoming where I am at. Sitting in my shed with a fine cigar watching Lord Duff and his sidekick. Good Monday.
Great video as always. Personally, I like the '60 tailfins better than the '59. A definite shame about the extensive rust. Thanks for showing the ice storm damage. Most folks have not experienced this type of challenge of being in a rural area. Hope your power gets "restored" soon so you can get more restorations going. Farewell and stay warm this winter.
Oh dang! You called out Wes for his little shop accident. You owe him some fudge stripe cookies for that one. I love that you, Puddin', and Wes all throw light-hearted knocks at each other into your videos. Cracks me up.
Cool old Caddy! I remember back in the late '70s one of my favorite pastimes was walking through old auto salvage yards, and I found a '61Coupe DeVille that was that same color (they called it Fontana Rose that year). It was in great condition (of course, it wasn't that old back then!), just needed a radiator and alternator (first year) to be complete. The guy running the yard wanted $150 for the car as it sat. Alas, I was a broke college student then, and the next time I visited the salvage yard, the car had been crushed...
You and Duff riding in the golf cart , reminds me of mower man at the old shop. Living in the south we hardly get snow but always just enough ice to snap all the power lines. Good times.
Gotta find fender skirts for that Caddy. Given the low milage, the Hydramatic should run out as good as the engine. The body, except for the floors, looks pretty good. More work would be worth it.
I was actually really diggin' the limited lighting at the end of this video! Having only the lights over the bench and under the hood gives that huge shop the small home shop look! Kinda reminds me of wrenching on my own shitbox in the shop at the dealership after everybody else went home...a short 30 years ago! Also, you should remind your BFF Joe that you sold that Lemans in every new video...for at least the next couple months. Lmao
Thanks for the video under adverse conditions. We get those ice storms here in NC, but not often, about every twenty years. I hope someone sends you a Duff sign. I’d vote for him.

Best to just cut all of it off and start over.....Cause, there is no way you can match or compete with their next level work and creativity. That classic has multiple examples of a True Master of Advanced-Monkey Engineering. Best to cut it all off, so you won't look bad next to their work? Not to mention the high quality of the previous electrical wiring modifications and custom metal fabricated tow hitch assembly. Haha! We had a ton of Cadillacs from 1957 to 1975. I loved the 390/429/472 powered Caddy. The 75 had a 500 and it ran decent for a low compression engine. I have a Honda 6500 watt generator that I converted to propane for cheap money and use it for water and heat. I also have a Honda 2200 watt that I use for the tv/internet and refrigerator.

I feel your pain. Im about 25 minutes from civilization and when you get a storm like that out here u could be outa power for weeks. I have a 13kw dual fuel genset. Hooked directly into my 500gal propane tank. Keeps everything going. Great video love all of yours.
That carburetor really threw you a loop think unless you got it working. It sounded pretty darn Good Hope you get it running around the yard. Keep Duff warm please!
Duff is awesome for keeping us humans sane. Theres nothing worse than getting an ice storm that weighs down power lines and tree branches, lots of snap crackle and popping. It’s easier getting a foot of snow than ice frankly. If you switch out the old fluorescent shop lights to the newer LED type that cuts down considerably on your draw from the generator.Same goes for any interior lights you may be using in the house,LED light bulbs cut down on what the generator has to put out.Hope you and Pookie get those utility poles replaced, that’s a lot of busted poles there. Enjoyed watching and look forward to the next one, thanks.
Hey Mortske, we all Know it’s getting colder, and it is hoodie season. Pull your hoodie strings out your hoodie, we all been there trying to start a rig up with a fan turning. Hoodie strings and fans turning ain’t no joke. Fans can pull your face off, make your head disappear. Take your hoodie strings out your hoodie. You know you leaning over a fan blade all the time. Don’t be that guy that gets wasted. Love the content. Be safe.
Hey Mortske 👋, great video on the 60 cad. Good little storm there in your area. Keep warm and safe. At least you can keep your cold snacks 🥶. Have a great week 👋
When running a generator don't forget to change and oil regularly plus maintain oil level. Many require change at around 50 hours run time. If you do your part the generator will do it's part. Thanks for the Vids!
Old Duff really loves those luxury cars, good luck on the power and cold weather situation, at least you can still get fuel for the generator. I was looking at a dual fuel conversion for my generator so I had an option for propane, power has been pretty stable in our area for the past 10 years, we have gone as long as two weeks after an ice storm some years back. My parents were from south east corner of South Dakota(Alcester), they sold their farm in the mid 50's to move to the PNW. The plan was to get away from the weather after the neighboring farms barn was picked up by a tornado and dropped into one of their fields.
Thank you for reminding me what it's really like to live where winter is real. I lived in Illinois during a record winter. -35 degrees. You can't let anyone go anywhere outside alone. Now I live in California. Here they will name the place after you if you travel and run out of snacks.
Thanks for the extra effort good show. That's a good engine dump the body. Thanks for the ride to town. Here in brainerd mn we got the same weather except for the power thing . Have a good week. Glad I have a wood stove
I have been working sh__t ton of overtime, and it is nice to come home on a Monday evening and watch your videos, I know you work hard to make them, and I appreciate that, thanks! keep up the great work!!! and Duff of course.
Loved seeing the Caddy hopefully more like it to follow. At the start I glanced away and when I looked back there's a cute pup and it's not Duff, did a second take, no worries, Duff soon appeared
In 1974 I was a senior in high school and was taking an auto mechanics class, so I bought a black '60 Caddy from the junkyard. I ended up taking it partway apart then sending it back to the junkyard. It had a 4 speed automatic, dual exhaust with mufflers and resonators, a longer than normal battery, This was the first year for the spin on oil filter and the last year for dual exhaust. Mine did not have AC like this one, but it did have the Perfect Circle cruise control. I took that unit out and opened it up to see what was inside. When I go to a car show and see a '60 Caddy, the first thing I look for is the cruise control knob, and I rarely see it. The headlight dimmer in the '59 Caddy was the Autronic Eye, and in '60 It was smaller and was called Guidematic.
Had a 61' Buick Invicta many many years ago... them cars, front passenger parking light in one area code, back drivers taillight in another. Great video! Beautiful car! Always looking forward to what's next! Blessings and respect!
Great job with this! The ice storm and power failure was a minor interruption, but the show went on. I agree with the lower control arm for the rear axle needing to be addressed before going for a drive. I have never seen one that rotted out.
A carb swap for the win is much better than a complete engine tear down and rebuild. Hope your power is back soon if not already. Ice storms suck. We get them up here in Canuckastan when the ole man winter comes callin. Stay safe.
My daughter lives in Kalispell Mt ... That same storm you have did a number there too... They lost power & them the plumbing froze solid... You know where that ends . Yup, busted water lines . Good one M.
You should of left it at the junk yard if all you can do is nit pick it every car or truck you get because your so perfect
Lol, some people don't get it or WANT to be pinned to the top of comments.

I think the caddy would be worth putting floor pans and a trunk pan in it. The rest of the body looks pretty solid.
This car is really, unique, you can work under the dashboard, while standing up. Brilliant engineering, putting that access panel in the floorboard.

Watching this just makes me wanna get my dad's 63' caddy running he bought it the year i was born
GEt after it!
Great project. sounded really good. wow seeing all what the weather did is a harsh reminder winter us here again
Got to love those old caddy’s I had a 61 conv. In high school sweet machine ! Good luck on picking up more ! Thanks for the vids JW
You bet
Had a 61' Buick Invicta many many years ago... them cars, front passenger parking light in one area code, back drivers taillight in another. Great video! Beautiful car! Always looking forward to what's next! Blessings and respect!
Right on
Great job with this!
Good one M.
