"Under the command of Darkrai..." Dammit! Cant we get one game where Darkrai is the good guy? Or at least, not evil? Why does he have to be the villain all the time? There are over seven hundred Pokemon now, stop discriminating against Dark Types.
I think most people that actually played the games when they were released were little children like how I was and made our own sandbox fun with it. I just have so many memories and nostalgia with those games and they were really fun in my eyes. I guess that’s why any game u play as a kid, no matter how bad it is, u still look back at it as one of the best games you’ve ever played
I remember how I thought Pokepark 1 was a massive waste of time while Pokepark 2 still sticks with me to this day. 5 years or so later. It was really fun and I enjoyed the story and gameplay. And the addition of playing Oshawott and Tepig who are two of my favourite Pokemon was super sweet! And I still remember how frustrating it was to beat Zekrom. What an asshole.
I don't dislike Gen 5 (obviously can't if I haven't played lol), it looks good, but I don't think I've actually ever seen someone call it their favorite, which is a bit weird to me

When this game came out, I was at the peak of my Pokemon fanboyism and I was 7 and was very easily frightened. When this game came out and I got it and had nightmares about pokemon being hypnotized into basically going to hell
Doodle Dect Wait...7? That would make you (crunches numbers into calculator)...14? Okay, you make the cut. Just barely, but we, the adults of RUclips shall allow your existence. Interesting that you mention your “peak” though, as I imagine that’s around the age when people first get into Pokemon. So, I’m guessing that Gen 5 was your first? (This is really off-topic, but this comment’s just got me curious. Haha)
I remember borrowing pokepark 2 from my neighbors when I was probably 9-10 after playing the first one and really liking it. The second one was more memorable and more enjoyable to me back then, probably because the worlds were much larger and more interesting. I never cared for the minigames in either 1 or 2, all i really remember is not being able to 100% the game because i couldnt find crustle.
This game is one of my favorites. It taught me how to read, but in retrospect, it really isn’t the greatest game. I still play it every now and again, but I’d much rather play either a main line game, or another handheld game
I was one of the subs that were wainting Pokepark 2 to have a place here! I really loved it because it was really calming and cute, and oh boy, this game after a long day at work it's just glorious. TY for the video, I never played the first one, so I will.
Ahh my childhood game let's see how good was it Edit: huh well I thought the story was quite good but well I have to agree that the were pretty little minigames, but hey at least I know that I'll always remember this game as the first game I've completed 100% (and nostalgia too)
I don't know if I'm one of the few people in the world to have played through both games, but I can tell you that I'm one that has played through both games, got every friend, beat every mini game and the high scores, then did it all again about 10 times for each game. Pokepark is really fun for me, but that might just be because it's my childhood game. It's adorable, great graphics, great voice acting, and lovely scenery. Apart from the controls that are a bit off for my liking, both games have lots of things that I adore!
Man i love this game full of nostalgic memories. While i see where your coming from when you say you dont like it i personally enjoy it and find it calming.
I really wish the PokepPark games weren't so expensive. They're both over $30-40 each at GameStop and I feel that's just asking for too much out of these games. I just want to play them cause I honestly do I like the idea of playing as a Pokemon in a 3D world interacting with other Pokemon. I just don't want to throw away all of my money just to play them. If they were only about $20 each, then I think that would be a much more fair price. Honestly, I would probably only get the second game since it has my favorite set of starters as playable characters.
My favorite place in this game is the Train Depot in the Tech Area. Not only does it feature my favorite Pokémon of all time, (Golurk,) the music is just... **chef's kiss**
I 100% both, and I've grown to like them. I honestly feel that if they combined the aspects of both, and added a few new things, I feel it would be much better
I actually liked both games my childhood consisted of these games and it was awesome as a 7 year old, it was even fun just to walk around sometimes, I guess as a younger kid these games are awesome
You should do Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. When I was younger that was the best and now I realize that it didn’t dumb down the story just because kids were playing it. In fact the whole series (mainly the gameboy advance versions) were great. The 3DS ones were much more meh but the story is still there.
I feel like a good story and some good Pokemon (love the starters especially) just got buried beneath the clearly filler pokemon and the not that memorable reigon. Though I wish pokemon would go back to animated sprites instead of 3d models.
@@starmangalaxy2001 I do see what you mean, but, you have to give it credit for its ambition. It wanted to be a new Gen 1. It wanted to revamp the entire Pokémon series. The idea of not having ANY previous Pokémon and having an entirely fresh, new world to explore was amazing and obviously risky, and, unfortunately, it didn't really pay off. A lot of people hated and still hate Gen 5 because of that. And it's kinda tragic when you think about it. Game Freak WANTED to try something new with their games, they WANTED to usher in a new era of Pokémon. EVERY GAME could have been like Gen 5, with an entirely new roster and no reused Pokémon. I think that's when Game Freak realized that a large amount of their fans ARE genwunners, cause ever since Gen 5 you can tell they're trying to really cater to those kinds of fans. I have to admit not all fights are easy as it sounds, especially in the arena

Are these particularly well hidden?
@@PolarPhantom endgame on the fourth map somewhere, not really hidden.
I remember those stupid ass arena fights
"Under the command of Darkrai..."
Dammit! Cant we get one game where Darkrai is the good guy? Or at least, not evil? Why does he have to be the villain all the time? There are over seven hundred Pokemon now, stop discriminating against Dark Types.
To be fair, I don't think he was actually evil, he had motives that made sense in-game.
I think, I don't remember...
Yeah, he was doing it more out of desperate loneliness than just to be a dick.
Could at least use Girantina which is an actual legendary associated with bad things.
Isn't he also a being of Nightmares?
@@nightspawnson-of-luna4936 Kind of? He causes nightmares, but that doesn't mean he's EVIL.
i also favor gen five because the unova series was just so wholesome and good i cant ever forget it
What game wasn't wholesome?
9:46 the coloring reminds me of a scene in I choose you.
I actually have really fond memories of this game.
Wait, Gen 5 is your favorite. I finally found someone else who agrees with me.
Right here too!

I knew AntDude was my favorite tuber once he said Gen 5 was his fav!!!
I don't dislike Gen 5 (obviously can't if I haven't played lol), it looks good, but I don't think I've actually ever seen someone call it their favorite, which is a bit weird to me
Isn’t this the only video he says that in though...
Aaron Manning
Really? Well, I can tell you it's my favorite. Trust me, that game is awesome.
Aaron Manning compared to the other Pokémon games, it’s looked down a lot. But play Gen 5 as soon as you can.
This game is one of my favorites, so it’s still awesome coming back and seeing my comment in Antdude’s review of the game.
Oshawott is still my favorite boi.
Same.
*Oshawott Forever!*
Alot of Lumas in this comment section, how rare.
He so precious
Dewott is my fac but we can't forget smol round boi oshawott
I don't care what anyone says, this will always be one of my favourite video games of all time. It has so much heart, care and joy put into it that makes it such a wondeful experience to play, full of life and everything I love about Pokémon.
Haha)
sunchips18 im actually 15 so I guess I was 6
Really? The only Pokemon to ever give me nightmares was the Hitmontop in Pokepark 1.
Pikachu: You know what, I think we're going to be friends (starts playing kazoo)
This game is one of my favorites. It taught me how to read, but in retrospect, it really isn’t the greatest game. I still play it every now and again, but I’d much rather play either a main line game, or another handheld game
Oh no, he teased dash, now he has to play that game the poor soul
Question mark?
I remember killing Zekrom, with Snivy
I just ran around him charging up attacks and then launching them
Hol' up, people actually use Snivy? Like, I get that Snivy is good for chasing, but otherwise Snivy SUCKS

Ahh my childhood game let's see how good was it
Edit: huh well I thought the story was quite good but well I have to agree that the were pretty little minigames, but hey at least I know that I'll always remember this game as the first game I've completed 100% (and nostalgia too)

Those two games are my FAVORITE GAMES
E V E R
Once again they are no longer my favorite games. I am sorry for my actions.
This game is truly an underrated gem in my opinion
Pokepark 3: You play as pikachu and a series of boxes, and the only minigame is just hitting words to say "I'm having fun"
Ah this was my first pokemon related game this is what got me into pokemon and why gen 5 is my favorite
OH MY GOD I THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD NEVER COME! Thank you for finally doing it!!!
This game also has another name, it is:
My fucking childhood in a nutshell.
This game was my childhood, thank you for reviewing it!
Oh gosh thank you, I was obsessed with this game when I was younger.
I actually liked both games my childhood consisted of these games and it was awesome as a 7 year old, it was even fun just to walk around sometimes, I guess as a younger kid these games are awesome
Brings back so many memories. When I was younger, I played the game 2 times over because it was so good.
You should do Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. When I was younger that was the best and now I realize that it didn’t dumb down the story just because kids were playing it. In fact the whole series (mainly the gameboy advance versions) were great. The 3DS ones were much more meh but the story is still there.
Omg, the nostalgia is just flooding back to me
If we eventually got poképark 3, it should take the best from the two games
Fun fact: the scene where pikachus friends all lost there memories is the first and only time i ever cried playing a video game lmao
Gen 5, it is awesome! *gets beaten up by 151 Genwunners* (there's a subtle joke in there)
Hahahahahha, i love gen 5 too!
But honestly, I would have loved it if every game were like Gen 5 in terms of its roster.
