Boys cry when they get Bowser Time
*Men cry when Nintendo adds the c a r*
Guess I’m the only one who likes the car mechanic...
*You get it cause mechanics fix cars...yeah I suck at these...*
Well... Bowser Time in Mario Party 7 was a dumb event idea that is the absolute worst because it misses the point of leaving it up to the players to screw over eachother.
Professor Pro legends cry when they get chance time.
Who gets excited for the MP4 Bowser Minigames?
But everyone cries when swap stars shows up on chance time or wheel of misfortune
Give it this, though: this is actually a really nice looking Wii game. Almost Wii U quality.
Essentially a 480p mario party 10
hi im frost yeah, even if its 480p, it has nice colors, unlike 8.
Yup
Mario is a franchise that mainly has strong standards in terms of its graphical quality. With games like Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Super Mario games, the Super Smash Bros. franchise, Donkey Kong games like the original DKC trilogy and Jungle Climber, Yoshi games like Yoshi’s Story and Yoshi Topsy-Turvy and the Mario RPGs (Sticker Star to the least extent).
@@abandonedaccount1643 mp8 is a whole mess imo, worse than this are only mp3 and mpadvance
I love this game, i played it for hours every afternoon when i was a kid and even though it maybe wasnt as good as the other mario partys but it's a special game to me
Me too I love this game
Yeah me too
Me too
Me too, and I consider it as a completely different genre, like why not Mario party journey
okay this was my first mario party and i love this more than the normal one this is my favorite
One of the only things I liked about this, was how gorgeous the game was. The graphics were crisp and the character models were so bright and smooth. The characters looks much less blocky and grainy than the previous game, and it almost looks like a Wii U game.
Kick the bucket
Tell me you're a casual without telling me you're a casual
I’m not aware of the general consensus about MP8’s quality, but I really like it. Koopa’s Tycoon Town is actually my favorite board in the series.
It actually really surprised me hearing suddenly people don't like 8. Actually, I'm pretty sure the motion control minigames *saved* it from being just another entry.
@@UltimaKeyMaster Personally for me it's the feel, where each Mario Party before had some semblance of the previous one, but 8 kinda changed many elements especially aesthetically (being too grounded looking than cartoony).
i do too, it was the mario party which, to me at least, was the most based on skill, and the least based on luck, so when you won, it was typically because you earned that win and not because the game just handed it to you. i mean there were lucky spaces yes, but even if your opponent hit one of those, if they didn't reach the star that turn you could use springo candy, go to the lucky path along with them, and also get a free star with them. and the duel minigames were the best in that one, since you only initiated a duel when you wanted to by eating duelo candy, a level of control the other games didn't give, and 7 was especially bad on since you could end up risking and losing a comfortably lead by being forced to initiate a duel when you didn't want to and losing stars to the opposition if you lost
Anthony Naranjo I loved that board! I played the game when I was a kid with my cousins, but it’s kinda sad that the game that you remember so dearly in reality isn’t as good as you thought. At least it was fun to play lol
One of the things people feel bad for WatchMojo (whether they like it or dislike it) is that people slammed them for putting Mario Party 8 on this list instead of gamesmanship on their best list like the Mario RPGs made in the 2000s or the late 20th Century Super Mario games, or even the overt obscure ones like Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber, the Wario Land series and Yoshi Topsy-Turvy.
Dang that intro is really good
If only MP9 has an Intro like this itself!
I love how Kirby was like "huh?" and then goes back to sleep.
Yes
"INSERT ANTDUDE MOD FOR THOUSAND YEAR DOOR"
I remember when people complained about Luigi's placement on the NA boxart.
Good times.
AmethystLeslie I was mad
I mean look at my name
Also it’s worse in the Japan box art
He’s not even there in that one
Oh, I forgot that for 3 years.
Indeed.
Me and my friends actually had a lot of fun with MP9 a few years ago. If you don't expect a traditional Mario Party game, it's not that bad.
Public:CARS?!?

No. Mario Party 8 is pretty underrated.

I grew up with 8 and I thought it was pretty good
@@TheLegoNation me too
The LegoNation yeah I’m pretty sure that’s just the nostalgia talking, your opinion though.
4:22 So... that’s a d10.
One of those new developers was a fan of some of the more... nerdy table top games. Maybe in the next Mario Party we’ll have to roll a d20 for initiative... 🤣
I played Mario Party 9 recently and... It was ok? It's probably better then 10, but it's not that spectacular at all. I recommend almost every other game in the series, especially the very underrated Mario Party DS.
Sean Bird It is better than 10. I’ve played MP10. I’M UNLUCKY. AND ONLY PLAY DUELS.
Sean Bird I only enjoyed the mini games :/
Camera Shy is best
The only game in the series worse than 10 is The Top 100

@@adincosa8294 I think it's a "make the video longer then 10 minutes" joke?
On the one hand sometimes it’s nice when a reviewer looks back on a mocked and disparaged game and can go “Yeah this actually wasn’t bad, or at least not that bad.”
But sometimes it’s also funny to see them just kinda go “Oh yeah it’s as bad as they say and here’s why”
To me, DS will always be the best Mario Party, maybe its just nostalgia or the fact that is underrated af, who knows?
2 and 6 are my favorite, but Jesus Christ DS is good. I love how the board and mini games are based around you being small. That’s genius, why don’t other Mario Parties try to have a theme for their mini games?
If you ask me
4, 6, and DS are the best
3,4,6 and DS is the best to me. I would put 5 here too but the orb system is not too great as you can't pick the orb you want.
It's probably just nostalgia. I've played a lot of Mario Party DS recently and it isn't that good The economy is broken and the boards are simple compared to other games. Although the minigames are pretty good
beat me all you want but I liked 10
don't worry it was just the minigames

That line had me dyin 🤣
Thing is, the decision to change up the formula is because one of the head honchos thought players were too bored waiting for their turns in the old style.
Note that he didn't take fan feedback or reviews or anything like that into account. He just came to this conclusion himself one day.
Fun Fact: Luigi can barely be seen in the English, Australia and European box-art of Mario Party 9, and not present in the Japanese box-art.
It really is the beginning of the end, you know there's something wrong when Nd Cube starts to neglect Luigi.
The worst part is that the early version of the American box art, Luigi wasen't here.
:(
The minigames were actually really good in this one.
Mario party 8 was the first Mario party I ever played, so it has a lot of nostalgia for me. I remember having friends over and playing the game with my cousins and siblings. Good times.
As nostalgic as this game is to me,the only thing I like about it now is some of the minigames and the soundtrack
how is this game nostalgic, it’s from 2012
@@cyketrik This game is over 7 years old, bro. Seems nostalgic enough to me. People who were 12 at the time are now 19-20.

I only liked this game because of the extra modes tbh.
Ya boi Kerbe yeah some of them were actually not that bad
Idk why but...
I FRICKIN LOVE MARIO PARTY DS
because nostalgia
Because everyone has opinions and you deserve to reasonably have your own without being flamed. I like it too.
Well everyone's pretty much shitting on this game, but honestly that's one of my childhood blast game.
You see, I was pretty much excited to get a Wii so I can play Mario Party 8 and 9. I absolutely love MP8, but unfortunately it got scratched, so I have to resort to Mario Party 9. And honestly? It's still fun. I can't really describe why, it's just fun. I've never really play other Mario Party games (other than DS and 8) because I don't own N64 or GCN. So I don't really know about people's experience with other MP games. And the main reason I get these games are honestly just because of the character roster, so I don't really know the main mechanics of this game, and I'm adjusted to both board-style and car-style mechanics in both games.
Emanuel Theodorus I feel the exact same way dude.
You don’t need a GameCube if you have a Wii
@Harry Engel I don't really own Mario Party 10, but honestly, it looks rather disappointing because it's essentially Mario Party 9 but with less content.

This was the one I grew up with funnily enough and my second favourite in the series. I see why people don’t like it because of the radical change in formula and that’s what hurts the most, knowing why people don’t like a thing and knowing it’s a majority who thinks that way.

I know everyone hates the car, but honestly I've played this game and classic style Mario Party with casual friends and they liked this game more. This was a good casual mode, but it should've been just a mode.
Found 9 to be "good..." due to it being the 2nd party game I played, the first being 8, of which I absolutely enjoyed.
Mainly because of the donkey Kong map for 9.
9 is ok but 2 3 and 8 in my opinion. mwah masterpieces. And I didn’t really like the do map it reminds me of the amigo in MARIO party 10
I loved MP8 and DS, though I haven't played any of the GC or N64 games because I don't have those consoles.
This is why I love story modes or championship modes of some kind in Mario Party. If you hate the board game rules you can just enjoy all the mini games after you slaughtered the minimal tedium of unlocking them.

Also, if no minigame has appeared for some time in Party Mode of Mario Party 9, one may appear from a Dice Block container when landing on a Dice Block Space. And if no player has landed on a Minigame- or Dice Block Space for five turns, then a minigame just starts automatically with Toad claiming "there was a minigame hidden on that space". Or maybe that happened in Mario Party 10.
That paper mario and the thousand year door intro was beautifully done

I give them credit for trying to change up the formula to Game of Life or something, but they could've fixed up a lot of the problems with it by having the minigames take place after every one had their turn, getting rid of the mini stars on the map and conceptually, having Star Coins be the only collectables so they could form into Grand Stars at the end of the board.
I actually really enjoyed mario party 9. I like it more than Mario Party 8. Despite the car,the minigames were really awesome, and the boards were really beatiful and fun to tranverse, even if we were all stuck together.

Mario Party DS: a good mario party game that is great on the go
Mario party 8: has some motion control problems, but is almost always a blast
mario party 9: I remember the minigames being ok but the boards being trash
mario party 10: same as mario party 9 but has Bowser mode which is the short but cool highlight
Mario party 9 and 10 aren't bad games, just very different and you indeed aren't going to like them if you go into them with predetermined expectations, but if you are open for a change they can honestly be a lot of fun!😊 also the bowser party mode in MP10 is actually amazing, give me more of that
Mario Party 8 is my childhood, along with Mario Party DS, so I may be biased in saying that these games aren’t really that bad, they’re pretty fun, so people should play them.

For me mario party 9 was pretty fun, it had playable toadette which is more than what super mario party can say
that and boss battles, those to me made it alot of fun to go through all of them, especially that song that plays during the fights. Love the video. Mario Party in a Car is infamous
I never played Mario Party 9 but I did watch a Let's Play of sorts of it when it was new. And it just seemed so...misguided. I appreciate that NINE GAMES IN they didn't want to just make the same Mario Party again, but misunderstanding competitive multiplayer and underutilizing the minigames I'm not sure was a good solution. Honestly, the early 2010s were not a great time for Mario. Every platformer had to be similar to Mario 3 and World (there were 5 retail released mario platformers in this style in the span of two years, this is actually true) and a lot of the spinoff games had to innovate in the most baffling ways. Like recent Mario games by comparison seem to understand they have to be new and creative but also something...people actually want.
3D world, galaxy 2, Luigi u and dream team were all good so it wasn’t all bad
in the 2010s?I mean there was sticker stars...so yeah I actually liked MP9 call me weird and 3d land was cool actually

Jayden C no I listed Mario Galaxy 2, Mario 3D World, New Super Luigi U, and Mario and Luigi Dream Team. Mario Kart 7 was also a good early 2010s game
@@jaydenc367 Not Galaxy 2. They actually released New Luigi U as a retail game a few months after NSMBU, so that's the other one. The Galaxy games are ultimately their own thing, and there are only 2 of them and the 2nd one came out more than 2 years later after the first one, and there was exactly one Mario platformer of any type released between those two Galaxy games (NSMBWii).
In my personally opinion, Mario Party 9 can actually really be fun, and don't remind me of Mario Party 10
Never played MP9 but at a sleepover I played MP10 and honestly that was one of the best experiences of local multiplayer I've ever had
