Restrictions have significantly eased, infections have drastically reduced, and vaccines are working! So me and the unit decided to go wild camping at Loch Lomond on the West Highland Way! This was our first wild camp since December when restrictions were tightened. Sorry for the limited footage, but I was too bust enjoying myself! Here's for more wild camping experiences to come :)

Must feel amazing to wake up to that, I need to get out there soon.
For me - and many others - it's like an escape route, from the likes of "real life" stressors: work, personal isues, bills, etc,. When I'm out there, I just don't have any of that. It's like a clean slate for the mind if that makes sense?

Plenty of spots at Loch Lomond, PLENTY. I was on the West Highland Way side that's outside the permit area, everywhere else in the permit zone till September. Just drop me a message closer to time and I can advise if you need help. And I managed to get a Cloud Peak. I got my mate from Germany to purchase it and then post it over :D

@@MontyOutdoors heading to loch Quoich. Going to climb a hill and find somewhere to camp should be amazing. Am really up for that camp mate not sure I will get any weekends off when the pubs open though.

Hello Bob Head! Hope you are well mate and thanks for watching my content and leaving some cracking comments! First time and hopefully last time I lose my thermals. The red light was the little fire on the firepit we had. And are you sure Vango and OEX are made by the same people? Maybe they share the same technology?
@@MontyOutdoors Hi mate , according to a friend , they are made by the same company , he uses a lot of OEX equipment .

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of OEX - and Vango, just to get that out there - and their products have never let me down. I had the Phoxx 1 out in about 50 to 60 mph winds and it performed like a champ. I know people who have the Phoxx 2 and haven't heard a bad word about it. You got any trips planned?

@@MontyOutdoors yeah I’m busy having walks out looking for cheeky over nighters looking for tent and hammock spots then need to figure out video the camps out and push my RUclips in a new direction. The main problem at the moment is every one is camping mad not travelling abroad with most trashing places for others, example lady bower reservoir are turning wild campers away the turned away 2 RUclips channels a few days ago both the English woodsman and Oscar outdoors so I’m looking to get well off the beaten tracks to avoid this and the masses. I have been getting all new gear during lockdown to start over fresh so have alsorts I want to test out and stuff including OEX Phoxx II, Nature Hike Cloud Up 2 and One Tigris Tangram along with hammock and tarp setups so loads to do, film and stuff. With the Phoxx II being my main solo tent so dying to get out and test this tent out hopefully with some rain and stuff.
@@grimlightwildoutdoors Where is it you're from? You will probably want to create a new RUclips channel given your current one doesn't reflect on camping. In relation to the direction of your channel... that can take years. That "eurika" moment for me has just about hit. Lady Bower has always had that issue though. They made the mistake by going to a popular location in numbers. I reckon if you were to go somewhere more remote and less numbers, you'll be fine. I can only speak highly of the Phoxx and really any OEX equipment. I'm also a big fan of Vango and Naturehike tents. Hope you're out soon, mate. Works wonders on your mental and physical health!
@@MontyOutdoors I’m from the middlesbrough area in the north east. RUclips looking at several options I’ve worked in the web / digital sector for years so pushing this when ready won’t be hard. I’m hoping to get an over nighter in this weekend, I’m making a point of getting as far out the way of the main trails as possible to avoid all the chaos and stuff. The Phoxx II will by main tent when doing solos with it being low profile, strong in winds but also blends in well with the cloud up 2 and Tangram when I want more space or I’m able to get my daughter to tag along. Looking forward to getting back into landscape photography as part of this and blending the too. Really need the above don’t mind how this works out and stuff just going with it and see we’re it leads me and in the process keep fit and strong mentally. One thing Scotland have got right are the views and wild camping being allowed and the freedom this gives all in the process. Unlike the rest of the U.K. wanting to keep people as sheep and under the thumb. Also thank you for the kind words means a lot, thank you 👍

I got a Cloud Peak 6 months ago... arrived from China in less than 48 hours !.. floor leaked on its first outing...
Where did you get it from? AliExpress? Naturehike themselves? I've heard nothing but good things about them so far and i've yet to look at mine!

Nice video, looks like a great trip. Do you have any trouble with condensation in your Mirage Pro 200?
I think I had trouble ONCE in my Storm Ciara video, but every other time: none at all. I think if it were condensation, I've never had condensation issues in any of my tents.

@@jockodiounto8121 Oh you've got it too! It's a world class tent mate. Have you seen my Storm Ciara video? It's in there weather I question its condensation or not, but it was a low temp at night that increased to double figures the following day. And the tent is waterproof. Also had it out in strong winds up a mountain. Fantastic tent!

... guess who has the Cloud Peak? 😂 Although not satisfied with the poles. Absolute cheap crap aluminium. Might look into e-mailing a company that custom make them, as I wouldn't mind stronger poles.
