Shaye is truly gifted. If you only know her as the cornet player of Tuba SKinny, you would never guess she could play this different kind of swing jazz...she sails right right through it like she's waiting for her nails to dry.
That is a wonderful surprise Shaye Cohn playing with this wonderful musicians. Tamar Kern is a wonderful singer. Her vocal style sometimes like an instrument or a tropical bird like here. Great bass solo. Danny Tobias has a fine sound too. Great trombone solo. This music makes me so happy. Shaye seems to be have much fun too. Lovely Regards to you Dave from Berlin Germany
Fascinating to hear Shaye improvising a jazz solo in a more contemporary mode than she uses in Tuba Skinny. More evidence of her ability to rise over limits of any sort.
I'm glad you like it, but for professional musicians those "limits" are more in the heads of fans than they are real obstacles. A band like the EarRegulars prides itself on a seamless love of Louis, Bird, Motown, Basie, and more -- no doors need to be unlocked.
For me, hearing a trad jazz artist playing an intelligent modern jazz solo is a little like hearing a friend speak Spanish when you didn't know they could. Loving music should prevail over playing within categories. "No doors need to be unlocked" says it very nicely.
Bass players no doubt.I could hear the singer better than him while he was doing his solo. The guitars weren't much better. It was on the street so I understand acoustics aren't the best.
@@swingyoucats The recorded sound was absolutely fabulous for the setting! No excuses or apologies needed. Even the acoustic guitar solo was loud and clear. Top-flight playing from everyone.
Allred and Chirillo at their best, Shaye outstanding, not really convinced by the trumpet player, and difficult to judge a singer in these conditions ! But so good to hear Shaye soloing so well in a swing context. Thanks a lot.
@@ziggyzaagsma473 A singer through a portable megaphone sounds pretty awful to me ! (listen to Gunhid Carling, she is an average singer, but terrible when she uses that !) so I find more honest to reserve my opinion until I hear her in better conditions !
How could you walk past this performance without stopping??? That's New Yawkuhz fa' ya'z ~ fuhgedabowdit!
my wonderful trumpeter I love her even though I'm very old
Tuba Skinny has fast become my favorite trad band. Awesome talent. Shay is just GREAT
Sounding great folks! You never go wrong with Shaye Cohn and Tamar Korn!😊👍👍
Whoa. Ending came together. Super. Thanks!

Yeah. Gifted. And one HELLUVA lot of study and practice.
Not only the sound is important.
But also the joy and fun.
Best wishes from the Netherlands
Awesome! My spine is tingling. I'm playing along with brushes on my favorite snare drum

Tamar Korn is today's delightful discovery!
It's just great!!!
Toujours étourdissants ..
Mmmm, mmmmm!!! Down home in NYC, too good!
I pray no won takes this the wrong way, Tamar Korn, aka the voice, is the spiritual inbodyment of the sound of happiness
Tamar's "slide whistle" solos traded with the bass were so fun!
Fresh and lovely. Love you all!
That trombone player is just having fun with these guys. Class of his own.
Great to see Shaye and Tamar (two of my favourites) playing together!
Fantastic ... Bravo !!! Thank you ...
Like they say Yeah...nice good fun.
Just a joy - every time afresh!
love to hear singing through portable PA match with horn sound which mostly the recording sound close to that era..👍
awesome.....like like like
Thats pure fun
Pure Joy, set to music!!
I do love it!
Shaye's solo starting about 3:40 is worth listening to over and over.
Musica datata ma sempre gradevole; eseguita cosi'...
Great rendition of a wonderful old song!
Excelente gracias .

Great.
I liked it twice the first time.
The band is tight - they are all great
Neal Caine on Bass 🙌
marvelous ❤😍👌
What a great use for megaphone, I’m blown away again😎✌️🎶
take it from an ex trombonist, that guy's amazing!
Espectacular, me encanta.
its old members left stand up. they play very well
I wonder what the eight people who disliked this found to dislike. A matter of scientific curiosity, no more.

Thank you for that last sentence. People who expect the street to be a recording studio are -- let us say -- over-optimistic?

Difficult to judge a singer? Got ears?

@@JAZZCLASSIQUE I suppose you did not listen to the scatting solo, she does not use the megaphone there
Shaye! So good
Wonderful!!! A joy... But when did Ms Cohn visit NY? Where was it announced??? I could have heard this in person; so sad I missed it!
Such things aren't announced, but I believe the band she's with did a brief Northeast tour. But there will be more video evidence . . . !
Shoot! I just looked up their schedule and saw they were here in NY on the 28th... Well maybe in Philly next week, if I can get away....
delicious
oh my she's the next Ella fitzgerald
follow the trunk but be beautiful and your beautiful legs
Who was that said Shaye doesn't smile?
The bone guy cook's.and Shaye's always great.
I know good guitars are expensive and I like the singer very well, but I liked the other one more, my sexy blonde, eternal health
Is that lady a former member of the Mills Brothers?😂
🙃😃
they are definitely more professional they sound much better and they are less members
