Good comment. In some ways, this is both poignant and comic. Todd strides out in his greatcoat over a V-necked tee-shirt and scarf then plays a great line until he jumps up as a car honks at the band. Even though they're all freezing, Greg sits laughing as Craig (from Seattle), who normally can't get a note out when it's cold, plays a great solo that's in tune and not pinched. And Jon Doyle, another northwesterner, plays a leisurely and touching solo, wearing a tee-shirt and zip-up sweatshirt. As Bill Edwards says below, these are not mere mortals.
Two special moments here. Jonathon's tender solo brings calls up tears. Then when a passing car honks a hello, Shaye raises fingers to return the greeting . . . while playing a sweet solo!

Yes I agree, there is a certain type of rare musician that can hear something one time, or read sheet music one time and never have to hear it or read it again. After that, you just play it and never have to think about it.
The essence of jazz is improvisation. They're not remembering anything. They're making it up as they go. Which is even more impressive than if they remembered it all. @@danielschechter8130 No, they aren't inventing it anew; if they were, we wouldn't recognize the tunes from song to song. What makes musical improvisation possible is practicing together until they each know what the other is going to do when it's their turn.

A fine old song, which I remember as the closing theme of the Don Messer radio/TV shows. (You gotta be a Canuck to know about that.) Never heard if done as a jazz number before and clicked "play" with some nervousness, but it's very fine. Well done!
Patricia Hammond has a nice vocal with piano acompaniment and audience sing along version which references the importance of the tune as the Don Messer theme.

Con esta música me " vitamino " me relajo, me inspira, gracias
Simply love this song, beautifully played by Shay and her friends, thank you so much for this upload.
You are professional the sound is authentic to my ear when I listened to the real old records, the sound was distorted by the scratch of the bamboo needle jumping, Now I can hear it all.
Loved Don Messer and his show. Yes, I'm Canuck.
LOVE HEAR ERICKA SING THIS OLD CLASSIC !
I live in CANADA and I know this isn’t right now but I hope you guys have pictures of this. You’re the best. God love you.
Tenor Player has a beautiful tone. My Grandfather always played this tune on Sax. One of my AllTime Favorites!
That is the incomparable Jonathan Doyle on tenor sax.
This is my favorite of all the music that they have done. What joy to hear this in 2021.If you are not tapping your feet, you have no soul Tim M 3/8/21
