  • Rotator cuff tears need this right away to help align the shoulder joint, take pressure off the rotator cuff tendons, and get pain relief. Doing this exercise frequently can speed up recovery time and improve your chances of healing without surgery. Once the shoulder pain reduces, then it's time to move onto the next exercise work on protecting the rotator cuff.

THIS GUY HEALED ME FOR FREE ON YOU TUBE!! I had a bad rotator cuff tear and the doctor wanted to operate. I wanted to try non evasive therapy first however money is short and I can’t afford insurance. I found this guy and his exercises not only gave me immediate relief to get through my work day as a baggage handler but in a few short months I regained complete range of motion with little to no pain at all!

@@epmanualphysicaltherapyHey Dr., do you think it’s ever going to be possible to get back to the gym and do heavyweight training with a tear in the rotator cuff?
I haven’t given this exercise a shot yet, but I’ve been mentally and physically missing the gym, but I’m worried with even a good amount of PT, I may never lift heavy again.

Just saw my doc after months of shoulder pain. Thought my shoulder instability surgery failed. It was done in 96. After watching me manipulative my shoulder he thought it is a rotator cuff tear. I was only home in central Texas for a few days before heading back to our boat on the east coast with no long term plans to on stopping until mid December for medical care. I started researching and after doing this one exercise it has helped reduce the pain. Thanks for posting

Hello @indigobunting2431, Sorry to hear about your rotator cuff pain!! While you may get some "crunching" out of the joint, as long as it is PAIN FREE you should be okay to move forward and do as much as the shoulder can tolerate.
If the movement is PAINFUL, you skip this movement all together. If you need other options for pain relief at this time, we suggest taking a look at our Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program! This 4 Phase program will guide you through exercises that are appropriate for the current state of your injury

There is one thing to be careful of. I had a tear of the leading edge of the subscapularis. The subscap is responsible for internal rotation. I was not allowed to rotate my arm at all, or strengthen that muscle, for 6 weeks, to allow it to heal. Those movements would be contraindicated.

      "Rotator Cuff Tear Help"

Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not.
If you felt that the exercises did help we would encourage you to look into our Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program as it is progressive and gives you the best chance to avoid surgery.
We hope you can feel some relief soon! We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

Hi Mrik7868, We're so sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue. The clicking sound in your shoulder can be common with rotator cuff problems and may be due to tendons catching or shoulder impingement. Hi Jodee, yes we have a Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program that would be perfect to help improve your husband's range of motion. The Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program is a comprehensive program designed to get your shoulder pain under control to allow the rotator cuff tendons to heal. Then it guides you to correct the underlying root muscle imbalances so that you can fix the source of the problem (rather than just treat the symptoms) and get long-term relief from shoulder pain. This program works even if you've had rotator cuff surgery in the past but continue to have rotator cuff problems. He had shoulder replacement surgery scheduled last year, which would actually be a reverse shoulder replacement because of the situation, but canceled it because his doctor told him that it wouldn’t improve his mobility all that much. I just wish he didn’t have to struggle so much to do things.

Hey HrTunes! If this is giving you pain and you have a rotator cuff tear, then you may not be ready for these types of exercises yet. It may be beneficial to still wear a sling for a while. Here is a link to a video that explains more if you would like to learn more about it:

Should i heard the bones crackling or pop sounds when doing this shoulder rotation? There isnt any pain btw

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  21 день назад

Hi Rising, it is common to hear crunchy noises when you have a rotator cuff issue as long as you aren't feeling any pain. Should you develop pain, you must stop any exercises until the pain subsides. You can try again but need to lower the intensity and range of motion. If you continue to feel pain we would highly recommend that you visit your healthcare provider.

Hey Expo! The Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program has officially launched check it out here:
The Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program is a comprehensive program designed to get your shoulder pain under control to allow the rotator cuff tendons to heal. Then it guides you to correct the underlying root muscle imbalances so that you can fix the source of the problem (rather than just treat the symptoms) and get long-term relief from shoulder pain. This program works even if you've had rotator cuff surgery in the past but continue to have rotator cuff problems. Hello, David! Yes, that is correct. Of course, it's good to listen to your body and dial back on your range of motion and even the amount of repetitions depending on how well you're tolerating this exercise. We hope this helps!

This only works after the tear has been repaired. Strengthening the surrounding muscles doesn't derogatory the damaged area.

Looked around snow found some info for my husband. He has had both shoulder rotator cuff anchors placed. He has no pain which is awesome but…..frustrated with his range of motion. Do you suggest any specific exercises for range of motion? Thank you. Keep on doing it! You’re awesome! Frm Newville, Pa.
