How to propagate Polka dot Begonia from stem cuttings | Begonia Maculata

I want a compact and thicker look for my Polka dot Begonia. So, I trimmed off the long stems and propagated them in water.

I like that kind of begonia because of the polka dot pattern and the angel wings leaves. I love using begonia foliage on my arrangements because I can still plant the leaves and propagate. Thank you this was very helpful! There was a period of time where I neglected my begonia and she lost a ton of leaves, but now her leaves are big and beautiful. But at the end of a very long, naked stem! I want to propagate her but am so scarred of killing her. But this begonia in my experience is pretty hardy.

Hi. I’m happy you find this helpful. That stem is perfect for prop! And it will trigger new growths. Good luck. I have only propagated in the warmer months and it was easy. It had lots of roots in two weeks!

Yes this is a very beautiful plant. It has tiny, white flowers with yellow in the middle. Orchids are beautiful as well.
