      I found that the bottom part of the leaves do best in water while the bottom does better in perlite (I water once every two weeks until moist not soaking). The roots love the perlite for some reason and then I transfered to soil in 3 months.

You might not wait for it to callous over and it might root. And next time it might not. Just a step to increase our chances. Great question by the way, I'm sure others as the same. CAREFUL: if you propagate this variety (Laurentii) by leaf cutting, it will lose the characteristic yellow stripe on the outside. To keep it propagate by separating the plant into several parts, leaving the leaves with root whole.

    • @_MaZTeR_
      @_MaZTeR_ 6 месяцев назад

      Found this out the hard way. Also stupidly, the offsprings didn't receive much light the first few years so there's bunch of thin leaves now. I bought a pretty sized, normal looking snake plant a year ago and put the older one next to it so it's no so bad anymore.
      Anyway, your comment should be at the top.

    • @monstrofarm
      @monstrofarm  Год назад +2

      It depends on the environment. If it's brown and mushy on the cut I would try again. When you cut the leaf let it sit for about 2 days to allow the cutting time to callous. You don't always have to do this, but it will help. Good luck this time.
